Living for conspiracy Steve. You know if they tried anything Joan the Disservice cat would be on the case. You also know Diane clocked it during her looky loo walks and she’s got tea. An alliance is forming.
What’s funny about Steve’s paranoia with the electric company van parked outside is that it’s definitely just the electric company.
If SoMeBoDy would just listen to reason then maybe they might remember the bad weather they’ve been having. They live in a suburb just outside of Chicago. It’s windy and wind messes with powerlines, but Steve isn’t dumb. Thank you very much.
He knows that.
Just like he knows what logo Mike said was on the van that El flipped. And like he said, “It’s spycraft 101. Of course, they’re here after a storm. It’s inconspicuous.”
“Big word,” Eddie replies appreciatively. “How do you know that?”
“I took the SATs?”
“Now the word! Why do you think that they’re tapping our phones?”
“It’s in all the movies, Eddie.”
There’s an unspoken duh tacked on to the end of Steve’s sentence and Eddie kinda loves it. He kinda loves how confident Steve is when he’s convinced himself this shit is real and a little part of Eddie wants to play along, but he knows how quickly it can all go bad so, “Baby, please. Stevie, what are they tapping into? We don’t have a landline.”
Steve pauses to think and then peaks back out through the blinds. He mutters, “You don’t know how wiretaps work?”
“Do you?”
Steve just purses his lips and looks even harder out the window which is just Steve-speak for ‘no, actually. I don’t know how wiretaps works because no one does.’ It makes Eddie grin, sliding up behind him and whispering in his ear, “Don’t you think one of our half dozen nosy neighbors would’ve told us if someone was spying on us?”
“Not if-“
“Baby, Diane came over twice last week because she saw a suspicious car in our driveway,” Eddie hums. “It was our car, Steve.”
Steve relaxes back against his chest a little but he knows the battle is not yet won so, Eddie adds, “Sweetheart, think about it. They’d know.”
“That’s true,” Steve relents just a little and then says, “Unless one of our neighbors is a spy.”
“No, baby.”
“Like a nosy neighbor that’s always in our business,” Steve continues, building confidence. “And who has always been in our business ever since we moved in…and who is talking to the electric company people right now.”
Eddie looks out through the peak in the blinds Steve is making and watches as Diane makes her way down her driveway in her pink house shoes, waving at the man halfway up the telephone pole. She calls something up at him but they’re too far away to hear it.
He can feel Steve pull away and Eddie thinks, damn it.
“Well, that friendship was good while it lasted.”

tdr is literally 2013 era tumblr fanfic — gay relationship with zero substance, too afraid to give anyone a personality or conflict, complete disrespect of legacy characters, and blatant misogyny. truly the best of all worlds thanks megan
genuinely i did have the thought while reading it that 13yos on fanfiction.net have written better stories than this. at least i can forgive a 13yo for not knowing what character flaws are. but the fact that megfitz got paid for this shit? insane. there's so much that's just so bad in here. the misogyny also cannot be dismissed it's true. acting like he was just settling in all his previous relationships? that line pissed me off soooo bad. i Know meghan doesn't even know who zoanne wilkins is lmao

was talking about this with friends but i also think having a good sense of when a story is headed in a direction you don't like is important for three reasons:
It helps you practice critical thinking skills / viewing something from a more objective and perhaps realistic lens. I have shows / stuff where even though I thought a story/plot decision or ship was a bad idea and it wasn't my preference, and even when I thought another story decision might make more sense, I was still able to recognize that "hey, this story is most likely going to go in this direction because of xyz" / setup and framing
This also means you can have an easier time leaving and/or getting out of a story when it begins to disappoint you / it can help build realistic expectations regarding the material in order for you to have a better time if you do stay.
And most importantly, perhaps, it just makes it all the more rewarding and exciting when you recognize a story is going in same the direction that you've hoped it would, because that is chef's kiss lemme tell you

Okay ghesties,
I think I may have cracked the code on the billboard that everyone is talking about with Copia....and unfortunately if I'm right, it's not as fantastical or exciting as everybody is trying to make it out to be.
When I first saw it it seemed kind of familiar and if you're someone like me and you live in the midwest, you might know why. For some reason the super uber Bible beating spiritual organizations and religions around here like to take out billboards (examples below) say things like Jesus is coming or the end is near stuff like that.
So, with that being said, I have a feeling that it's just a clever advertisement that's meant to mimic these types of religious billboard propaganda and that there's no actual underlying meaning behind it. So no hint to the Antichrist Copia theory or any of that kind of stuff.

reminder everyone!
unsubscribe from Shane Dawson, that man is just... not good.
he's done at the VERY LEAST!
done blackface (EDIT: I think he's full on a racist actually)
recirculated antisemitic conspiracy theories (EDIT: I'm pretty sure he's actually antisemitic.)
collaborated with and defended pedophiles (EDIT: James Charles, Collin Ballinger, and I think MORE.)
spread misinformation (so much)
made super creepy shit about people. (so much, so much.)
probably fucked a cat (he admitted to it once, and has been backtracking ever since. like he said not once but 3 TIMES that he did, not as a joke just randomly. so who the hell knows!)
body shaming
queerphobia/transphobia
animal abuse
inappropriate sexual talk with minors
sexual talk with minors (like talking about flashing his dick, and shit to literal 10-14 year olds. and just so much creepy shit man.)
and more.
like, I choose to believe the best in people. but like there's honest mistakes and then there's legit bigotry.
(e.g is accidentally unknowingly reblogging antisemitic stuff vs literal blackface. one is an accident, one is full on I know what I'm doing. he's not done blackface once BUT MULTIPLE TIMES!!!!!!)
I'm happy he's happily married, but can he please stay off the internet how many times does he have to be run off the internet before he stops.
dgoivghsdkvhjh
he's really not beating the allegations, because half of those things are literally on record. LOL
(yes it was 2010s, but again. I was alive and vibing AND NOT DOING BLACKFACE, like???? come on!!!!!!)
TW for racism, and blackface.
TW for beastiality
TW for racism, blackface, and transphobia
TW beastiality, animal abuse
oh found another one...
TW pedophlia
genuinely what the actual fuck Shane, what the actual fuck.
please get banned off the internet you fucking creep.
TW pedophila
TW pedophila
TW Antisemitism, racism, pedofila, N slur censored/uncensored, inappropriate sexual talk with minors, zoofilia.

its really weird to me when people act like they've discovered some big twist by pointing out kaz is a bad guy responsible for a lot of bad things in the metal gear universe- thats kind of the whole point of the big boss prequel games(to explain why things are so fucked)
it veers into annoying territory when it then turns into "woah hes the secret over arching big evil bad guy of the franchise" like 1) calm down and 2) no? outside the fact zero(or even ocelot) fills that niche better thats just really reductive and also blatantly ignores the themes presented by snake eater, peacewalker and the phantom pain.
kaz isnt an innocent guy pushed around by circumstance but he's not a machiavellian schemer either. he's someone who was seriously hurt by war and the systems that be, and hes someone who then continued that cycle of war and hurt- bringing it onto others and himself. big boss kaz and even zero arent meant to be pure evil, theyre bad people sure but theyre also PEOPLE. Its a TRAGEDY

i think one of the lingering aspects of antisemitism in media is the whole idea of jewish culture as something not only so specific that goysiche audiences aren’t interested but outright lurkingly suspicious so that jewish culture can’t be shown. the range of possible cinematic jewishnesses is narrow - a menorah, maybe, or someone saying I’m jewish but maybe in response to a joke. no prayers in hebrew, no davening or brachot, no non-joke casual uses of yiddish or ladino or arabic or hebrew in spoken dialogue, nothing that uses yisrael or yerushalayim or tzion because What if the audience took thousand-year old concepts far older than modern nationalisms and punched it through that lens and it was Suspicous? no casual references to the ways in which jewish people and communities might organise their lives in ways that might be different. no mezuzot, havdallah, kiddush cups, jewish cultural and social and political organisations, kabbalat shabbat, scenes with tallises and kippot, nothing that might inconvenience the narrative, no passover cleaning or sitting shiva. just... a lot of the aspects of culture and communal organisation are to specific, too in-group, to lingeringly not normal to show. but too outright sus, y’know?
