Tsukasa: 3
Nene: 7

Total: 21
Number of times Emu has appeared in a character’s card:

Kaito: 2
Tsukasa: 7
Emu: 3
Nene: 3
Mizuki: 1
Ena: 1
Total: 19
- Tsukasa has cameos with 11 different characters, Emu with 16, Nene with 13, and Rui with 12.
- Tsukasa is losing to Nene and Rui despite being more social than them, which is a neat and subtle nod to the fact that he is annoying and most people who haven’t built up a tolerance to him probably do not want to be near him in a card.
- Tsukasa and Nene have never had a card cameo with a member of MMJ. Rui has never had a card cameo with a member of L/N. Emu has a cameo with every unit.
- Tsukasa shares the spotlight of his cards with Rui over 2x more than he does with other characters, and the same is true with Emu wrt Nene.
- Nene will not share the spotlight of her cards with anyone but close friends apparently, but she will show up in the most random character’s cards.
- there are a lot of full unit cameos: Nene’s trained dazzling lights card and untrained mermaid card, Emu’s untrained island panic card, Rui’s trained and untrained fragment sekai card and his wonder halloween card, Tsukasa’s WMS card. (Outside of WxS members, there’s Meiko’s OHE card).
- 1 on 1 cards where both characters are clearly in frame are rarer (as in, their full head is visible) (I’m only going to list cards with two wxs members for brevity’s sake):
- Tsukasa and Emu: 2 out of 5 (emu’s untrained wonder halloween 3* and untrained popping in my heart 4*)
- Tsukasa and Nene: 1 out of 8 (nene’s untrained new years 3*)
- Tsukasa and Rui: 7 out of 13 (Tsukasa’s untrained dollfes 4*, Rui’s untrained picnic 3*, Tsukasa’s untrained RMD 3*, Rui’s untrained phoenix 3*, Tsukasa’s untrained pandemonium 4*, Tsukasa’s untrained hello good day 4*, Tsukasa’s untrained BLF 3*)
- Emu and Nene: 9 out of 15 (Emu’s trained initial 3*, Nene’s untrained WMS 4*, Nene’s untrained dazzling lights 4*, Nene’s untrained island panic 4*, Emu’s untrained cg/o 4*, Nene’s untrained curtain call 4*, Emu’s untrained gleaming stars 4*, Nene’s untrained and trained OHE 4*)
- Emu and Rui: 0
- Nene and Rui: 0
- the cutoff for what’s considered a cameo seems to be “anything that allows you to identify the character without reading the story.”
- Nene’s hair and costume (along with her arm) are visible in Rui’s trained on this holy night card, and Saki’s sleeves are visible in Emu’s untrained precious memories card. Both of these count as a cameo.
- a very blurry Rui + Nene show up in Ena’s untrained picnic card, and a very blurry Nene is next to Rui in his untrained RMD card. Both of these count as cameos.
- A hand holding a phone does not count as a cameo - Emu is holding the phone in Miku’s untrained sports festival card, and Nene is holding the phone in Rui’s untrained canary card, but neither of these count as a cameo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- representations of wxs do not count.
- there are three animals meant to represent emu/nene/rui in lens trained gleaming stars 4*, which don’t count
- there’s a squirrel and monkey meant to represent nene and emu in Rui’s trained picnic 3* (and the mechanical monkey is probably tsukasa), which don’t count
- the cat that represented Rui in wonder halloween does not count as a Rui cameo. It shows up a lot though. I think it just likes attention.
- The robots rui modified to look like tsukasa and emu in his on this holy night 3* don’t count. This would probably bring up the question of “does nenerobo count as a nene cameo?” To which I say no. that thing has a soul.
- other examples that don’t count (that more closely resemble the actual character): emu’s drawing of tsukasa in her untrained initial 3*, Rui’s balloon tsukasa in his trained SOAD 4*, the little wxs on a log meiko has in her trained this holy night card, the poster of what is probably tsukasa in nene’s untrained fragment sekai card.

The Butterfly Effect by JeannieMac Summary: A brief (very brief!) episode tag for "Murdochophobia" (7.06). William, Julia, the butterflies.
Life in the Balance by meridian_rose (meridianrose) Summary: AU set during 11x09, "The Talking Dead". Agnes succeeds in poisoning Watts, leaving him fighting for his life and George beside himself with worry.
Bloodlust II by Voltaire63 Summary: A figure from Murdoch's past turns up to stalk the detective.
Side Window by Voltaire63 Summary: While recuperating, Murdoch witnesses something he was not meant to see.
The Rest of Our Lives by Voltaire63 Summary: An alternate view of Julia telling William about the threat from Gillies, after 714.
Going Forward by Voltaire63 Summary: One shot. Next scene in Last Train To Kingston, 709.
As I was losing him - Murdoch Ahoy by Natmuread Summary: Julia's point of view of William drowning in Murdoch Ahoy (season 7). Don't read if you haven't seen that episode. ONE SHOT.
Trials & Tribulations by Sask Summary: Set after the end of Season 6 - James Gillies' trial approaches, but on the way to the court house Detective Murdoch is abducted. Can Gillies be behind it, even from behind bars?
Oh, Susannah by Voltaire63 Summary: Will the Murdochs finally start a family? Takes place a few months after The Murdochs Give a Party
Wild, Wild Yukon by Red Warrior Summary: Five months have gone by without any news from William Murdoch. Thomas Brackenreid, George Crabtree and Julia Ogden decide to travel to Yukon to find the detective by themselves and, they hope, bring him back to Toronto. WM/JO - Rating may go up.
Realizations by MysterMurdochFan Summary: Murdoch and Brackenreid are involved in an accident
My Soul To Take by Demosthenes23 Summary: Murdoch succumbs to a mysterious illness and faces his most sinister threat yet. *Volume I of the alternate timeline series.*
Home Again Soon by TheLastSaskDragonRider Summary: Watts is kidnapped. (takes place between season 13/14, no season 14 spoilers)
It's Not Time by GoodMorningMoon Summary: Spoilers from 16x11, "D.O.A." (the black and white film noir episode). Missing scenes as Murdoch recovers from a nasty poison.
we're going down (six underground) by fluffier432 Summary: It had been a number of days already (George had lost count just how many), and he was no closer to escaping the clutch of his kidnapper. Maybe slightly, if his healing foot counted, but that wouldn’t be much use if he couldn’t unlock the front door to run away. Even if he could pick the lock, there would be no time before Amelia caught up to him, and that would only be if he could get past her in the first place. She had him seated at the desk, not tied down as she believed his foot still could not bear his weight (and it nearly couldn’t), as she lay on the bed between him and the bedroom door. Nobody had come to rescue him yet, which felt out of character for the quick-acting Murdoch. He supposed perhaps they hadn’t even discovered he was missing at all; he was on a book tour, after all, it’s not like his absence at work would be considered unusual. Whumptober 2022 Day 5: Blood Loss/Running Out Of Air/Hypothermia
S-O-S by Horatio13 Summary: He was pinned in a pretty tight pocket, but not tight enough that it was impossible to breathe. Uncomfortably difficult, yes, but definitely possible. His ears were ringing. Something sharp was stabbing in his thigh. He couldn’t feel his fingers on his right hand, but he couldn’t see enough of them to figure out what the problem was. He could feel something wet and sticky starting to pool underneath his legs and stomach. Well, thought George numbly. This is fun.
Whumping the Bugalugs Series by Horatio13 Summary: Slaps the top of George's helmet This bad boy can fit SO much pain!
The Lady and the Arrow by GoodMorningMoon Summary: A crossbow bolt to the gut is quite a blow no matter how fit you are. Murdoch recovers from the events of 1x11, "Bad Medicine."
Steady On by GoodMorningMoon Summary: After the ambush at the church, only a select few know George Crabtree is still alive. Cross-posted to ff.net.
Out of the Woods by GoodMorningMoon Summary: Filling a gap in S8E11, "All That Glitters." How did George get a wounded Murdoch home from Haileybury?
The Lady and the Arrow by GoodMorningMoon Summary: A crossbow bolt to the gut is quite a blow no matter how fit you are. Murdoch recovers from the events of 1x11, "Bad Medicine."
Mr. Crabtree's Insistence by GoodMorningMoon Summary: Missing scene from (and spoilers for) 15x22, "Sweet Amelia." Effie seeks help for George after a deeply traumatic experience.

At time of posting 14 Sep 6pm KST: 47K views, 271 comments (Will only translate comments relating to YoonA)
2. Look at YoonA’s latest projects line-up, everything is going well for her ㅋㅋㅋ 7. All are doing really wellㅋㅋ 8. I thought YoonA wasn’t good at acting when she was Saebyuk (in her first lead drama ‘You Are My Destiny’) but these days her acting is really good. Not just as an acting idol, but she's just good at it (acting). ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I thought IU was good since the drama ‘Pretty Man’ that starred Jang Geunsuk, and for Suzy, Anna, is the best... 9. I watched YoonA well in ‘King The Land’ ㅋㅋ She was a perfect fit ㅋㅋ 11. What? These are all the people I like!!!!! Everyone is pretty and their acting is great. By the way, Yoona's recent works are crazy, they're all successful ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 12. YoonA was so cute in ‘King The Land’ and her acting is so good ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 13. I watched all three of YoonA's latest projects. They were all good. So good. ㅋㅋㅋㅋShe is soaring especially in ‘King The Land’. 15. YoonA is also good at acting and is building up her filmography well. 16. Wow, just look at YoonA’s recent works ㅋㅋ 17. YoonA is really good at comical acting
19. YoonA, you acted so well, so natural ㅋㅋㅋ I'm looking forward to your next work. 20. I’m convinced (I agree) ㅋㅋㅋㅋEveryone's acting is good, and YoonA's batting score (percentage of her success rate) is especially good lately. 22. Wow, it looks like there aren't any (i)dols to remove (meaning OP agrees with all on the list). But it is surprising that Jung Eunji and Sooyoung aren't here.. I guess it's because there are a lot of female idols who are good at acting. 26. YoonA acted so well in ‘King the Land’ㅋㅋㅋ 27. Wow, 1st place for both men and women are ‘King The Land’ male and female leads ㅋㅋㅋ 28. It's freaking that both YoonA’s dramas and movies did well. The line-up of her recent works is insane ㅋㅋㅋ 30. YoonA’s latest works line-up are insaneㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 31. Yoona’s career is insaneㅋㅋ 32. It’s the same with male idol rankings, the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places are the ones that always come up when acting idols are mentioned ㅇㅇ 33. YoonA's works line-up is insane 34. I really enjoyed watching Yoong’s ‘King The Land’, it’s my life drama ㅠ 35. Only the people who should have been chosen were chosen. 36. Nodding (in approval) ㅋㅋ 39. Oh, there are all these people who I thought they were good ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 40. They all act well... 41. Agreed 42. They are all good at acting and pretty 44. Her latest work ‘King The Land’, ‘Big Mouth’, ‘Confidential Assignment’ shivering (because of the awesome line-up) 45. YoonA's acting was really good in ‘King The Land’. She was just like Cheon Sarang herself👍 47. It feels like the differences in acting skills among the actresses aren't that big. The 5 people seem to be famous enough to be in the top 5 in terms of influence and reputation. 48. Do well, everyone 49. YoonA is really good 50. I acknowledged 51. They are all well-known faces. 52. I saw YoonA for the first time through ‘King The Land’ and she was really good. 57. YoonA was really good in ‘King The Land’. 63. I clicked in the article shouting ‘YoonA’ 65. Lim Yoona's latest work is insane...;; 68. These are all people I like 69. The votes are more evenly distributed here, so the difference in votes is not that big... The male idols were overwhelming. 71. I came in thinking YoonA would be here, but she ended up in first place ㅋㅋㅋ. 72. (Comment deleted at time of translation) 74. YoonA's acting in ‘The K2’, IU’s in ‘My Mister’, and Suzy's in ‘Anna’ were really, really good. I'm curious about the acting of this three people in their 30s, 40s, and 50s. 76. But this was released yesterday morning and suddenly both articles (male and female) came out as ‘hot’ topics. 79. To be honest, I was sad because I thought YoonA's (drama) filmography was bad, but these days, everything is really good.. ㅜㅜ And the movie filmography is good too. 80. I acknowledge everyone in this article, but it's a shame that Jung Eunji, Han Sunhwa and Sooyoung weren’t included. I really enjoyed Sooyoung's ‘Not Others’. 85. YoonA seems to choose her works well. 88. (Comment deleted at time of translation)
90. Lim Yoona’s form is crazy!!!!!!! 92. (replied to 69th comment) Oh, it looks like they got votes from all over. Female acting idols are also good at acting. 94. Oh, they are all good actors ㅋㅋㅋI also liked Jung Eunji, Sooyoung and Sojin ㅋㅋ 100. YoonA, IU and Suzy's singing and acting careers are all top notch 101. I acknowledged all of them 105. I thought about Bona, but the acting idols in the article are all very good 106. I also thought about YoonA's ‘EXIT’, but it is not her most recent work. 107. I enjoyed everything YoonA has released recently. 108. I came in the article thinking of YoonA. 109. YoonA❤️ I like her very much 112. King-jeong (t/l note: It is a slang to of 킹 (king)+ 인정 (agreed), to describe being full agreement of something) 113. I approved 115. YoonA’s recent career seems really good 117. Approved approved. 119. YoonA and IU, king-jeong. I want to watch Suzy’s drama, why isn’t it coming out yet? 120. We selected the acting idols who showed the greatest success this year and who we are looking forward to in the future. ----------------------- This is the survey topic. 121. I think YoonA’s career is so good 122. I heard about ‘King The Land’ being a huge hit on Netflix and ‘Big Mouth’ also did well, hence it is a back-to-back hit. 125. I acknowledged it 127. (replied to 120th comment) It is in the text ㅋㅋ 128. As expected, YoonA! 129. Ah, YoonA’s acting is good. 130. I acknowledge all of them 131. Approved 132. Ah, I approved of everyone listed here 133. YoonA is good 134. YoonA seems to be in good form these days. Personally, I think Suzy’s ‘Anna’ was the best ever, so I hope Suzy do another such genreㅠㅠ 135. Good 136. Approved 137. I acknowledged everyone listed here, there are people who I am disappointed that they are not on the list, but there is also no one in the list that I objected too. 138. YoonA’s filmography is good. All her works are very good, and she acts very well too. 140. Everyone's form is good, but the acting skills of the female idols are ambiguous. 141. I like YoonA so much 143. (Replied to 140th comment) What?;; As expected, all the malicious commenters are like sh*t. All the 5 females here have a besting acting of their life for at least once, so what are you talking about? 144. Yes 147. IU and Nana are good. No, all the 5 people listed here are goodㅋㅋㅋ 148. For the female acting idols, the votes are considered more evenly distributed. 149. (Replied to 140th comment) ? 152. I’m looking forward to YoonA’s movies and dramas doing well. I’m also curious about the ‘2 O’clock Date’! 153. I agreed with all listed in the article, Nana’s acting is really good. 156. I like Lim YoonA to the point of dying ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ 157. King-jeong 158. YoonA is good. I thought her acting was good after watching her works recently 160. YoonA is so likeable these days. I've seen all of her recent works. Now, she is a ‘trust and treasure’ actress.
161. Wow, all of them are K-pop talent. 163.The 1st place for both male and female are Junho and YoonA, ‘King The Land’ couple is really good ㅠㅠ I hope they both do better. The chemistry was good, and their acting was good in ‘King The Land’ 167. King-jeong to all on the list
168. Wow, 1st place is YoonA, congrats congrats!! 169. The movies and dramas YoonA starred in, all received great success, so amazing 171. I clicked in the article shouting YoonA ㅋㅋㅋㅋI hope things go smoothly~ 175. YoonA deserves the 1st place. Her drama and movie careers are all good. 176. Regardless of her career, Yoona really showed off her acting chops with her ‘Confidential Assignment’ and ‘EXIT’, and she did well in King the Land as well. Nana and Kim Sejeong are rather unexpected, and I think Han Sunhwa or Jung Eunji are better. 178. All of them have improved a lot in their acting so it’s even better 180. I feel like all the idols mentioned in the original text and Sooyoung and Eunji are good at acting. 185. YoonA 189. YoonA has a good way of choosing projects ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 191. These are the actors who were active 'this year', but it seems like it includes only those who can be included... YoonA did well in ‘King The Land, and IU and Suzy are the queens of immense popularity who respond right away in surveys like this even if they didn't have any hit films or activities this year. (Just like stars who are ranked even if they are inactive that year when Gallup selects the best OO of the year...) Nana becomes popular because of ‘Mask Girl’ recently. 193. YoonA! 194. Even though Nana is really good, I recognize all 5 people there. 196. (Comment deleted at time of translation) 197. YoonA was such a perfect fit for ‘King The Land’ this time, so pretty 198. I'm waiting for YoonA's next work 200. YoonA! 201. Acknowledged acknowledged 204. I agreed with all the line-up here 205. Waiting for YoonA's next work 208. Line-up approved... 209. No, initially I thought how could Sejeong be in 5th place only, but as I scrolled lower (to reveal the top 4), the more I understood. 212. I only saw YoonA's works for a few seconds in passing, so I had the prejudice that I couldn't get into the character because I heard YoonA's voice that I used to hear.. I recently watched Exit belatedly and was so surprised that it turns out okay. I finally understand why her movies are so successful and how she gets casted so consistently. 214. YoonA is good! Han Sunhwa too!! 215. YoonA is really good 216. Even though I’m not a fan of all five of them, I acknowledged. 217. Oh.. everyone who are good are gathered here 218. Soshi is YoonA, but I was also surprised that Sooyoung was better at acting than I thoughtㅋㅋ 219. ‘King The Land’ influence is huge. Both sides (male and female) came in first place 220. YoonA is really good ㅋㅋㅋㅋ I watched ‘Big Mouth’ and ‘King The Land’ recently, and she did well in both dramas. YoonA would be a perfect match for a little bit of ‘Big Mouth’ – ‘King the Land’ – ‘EXIT’, a bright, cheerful, confident and u undaunted not in a villain way character 221. The experts voted but there are people here trying to start a fight so ridiculousㅋ What is it? ㅋㅋㅋ 224. They are all good 225. YoonA’s latest line-up projects are really awesome ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
226, Everyone are gathered here, they are all good 227. Oh, YoonA approved 229. Really, YoonA is really good. I think she has star quality, good screen control, and acting skills. 231. If its YoonA, its king-jeong. 232. YoonA is building up her filmography for movies and dramas well. Her acting in ‘Confidential Assignment’, ‘Big Mouth’, ‘King the Land’ were really good. I admit her acting in ‘Miracle’ was also really good. 233. (Replied to 232nd comment) All same as you and ‘EXIT’ too!! 235. Oh my, YoonA's acting was really good. 236. YoonA, approved 238. Agreed 239. YoonA, approved approved 240. YoonA, approved 241. YoonA, I really enjoyed ‘King The Land’. So lovely ㅠ 243. Hehehe YoonA>< 244. All are good 245. Acknowledged 246. YoonA, approved 248. YoonA, approved 249. Oh, they are all good. And popular too. 258. Even if there are people who should be added in, but there aren’t people that should be removed. I went ‘King-jeong King-jeong’ while scrolling down the list. 259. I watched every project of YoonA that comes out after ‘EXIT’. Really, she is good at acting in both movies and dramas. 260. Agreed 261. It's a shame that YoonA keeps getting underestimated because of the disgusting keyboard warriors. 263. I clicked in thinking of YoonA. 264. Didn’t YoonA filmed a drama in the early days of her debut, she did really well in that too. 265. Agreed, YoonA and Suzy are good at acting 266. YoonA and Suzy are both good at acting 267. Agreed 268. YoonA did really well 269. Agreed for all 270. When will YoonA's next work come out ㅠㅠ I want to see it soon 271. YoonA has become someone that can be trust and treasure (to watch). I am waiting for her next work.

20 questions for fic writers
here's some stuff about me, thanks for the tag @magswrite <3
1. How many works do you have on ao3?
Four!
2. What’s your total ao3 word count?
169,069 (double 69 this is so embarrassing)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently only the marauders, but I've written for other fandoms in the past. On this account, my old Weasley fics can be found, and then I've written for a few other fandoms in other places.
4. What are you top 5 fics by kudos?
just like Maggie I do not have 5 fics lol so this is just my 4 from highest to lowest !!
we'll be just fine (even when I lose my mind) : 16k words, James loses his memories after a quidditch fall and doesn't remember his relationship with Regulus.
Foolish One : 5k word one shot. friends with benefits. miscommunication. mutual pining.
Mutually Assured Destruction : 113k word WIP. a "how to lose a guy in 10 days" au.
where milk and honey flow : 34k word WIP. band/fame au, multiple pairings, multiple tropes. this will be a long one.
5. Do you respond comments? Why or why not?
oh yes! I try to always reply, but sometimes it slips my mind and I forget. Most of the time I get to them, though! I love comments, and I appreciate when a reader takes time out to comment, so I want to show that appreciation by replying.
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
so, I only have 2 completed fics, but it's no secret that all of my stuff is happy endings. if I had to pick, I'd say we'll be just fine. it's still a happy ending, but everything isn't perfect, you know?
7. What is a fic your wrote with the happiest ending?
again, only 2 completed fics, so at the moment, probably Foolish One? I think my long fics will beat that in the end though lol.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
nope! I have very nice commenters
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
hmmm hard to answer. have I in the past? yes. have I in any of my current fics? no, not yet. but wm&hf will have smut in it eventually.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest you’ve written?
nope!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
mmm at most I've had it reposted without my permission and without credit on another site, but have never had like a fic idea stolen.
12. Have you ever has a fic translated?
mmm no, but I have had one turned into audio format for accessibility?
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
eeee as Maggie said, we have something in the works ;) something fun, very excited about it, but it's neither of our first priorities so it'll be a bit before its done!
14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
ooooh that's so hard. maybe my judgements clouded bc I'm so hyper fixated, but I do think it's jegulus. maybe that will change tho.
15. What’s a wip you what to finish but doubt you ever will?
the only thing I have started that I don't think I'll ever go back to is this mcd fic that's like a plane crash situation? everything else I fully intend to finish.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I've gotten comments praising my prose and characterizations a few times, which really means the world to me. I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on grammar and clear ideas of what I want to happen.
17. What are you writing weaknesses?
okay, two things I think: first, I feel like I meander too much. takes me too long to get to the point, like I'm so fucking wordy so everything is always so slow moving. second, I feel like I'm so bad at like... describing surroundings and stuff.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I use google translate and I take any and all comment suggestions and make changes!
19. First fandom you wrote for?
oh my god I don't even want to say. (hints: RPF, a dance crew, I was in 6th grade). After that one, I kinda abandoned reading/writing fic until I was 19? and when I came back to it, I started in The 100 fandom!
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
just going off of the ones I'm currently working with, wm&hf is my favorite. I've been brain rotting about it since like February, I have so many plans, and it just feels a lot more like something I'm really writing for me.

26/1/24 Fact or Fiction
Statement #1: Bayley will win the 2024 women’s Royal Rumble. FACT - It makes perfect sense from a storyline standpoint to have Bayley vs Iyo at WM, and given the Rumble and MITB are effectively treated as ersatz titles these days it also fits to have Bayley get a clean sweep of all women's titles, Rumble and MITB
Statement #2: You spell battle royale with an “e”. FICTION - Only when talking about that Japanese film given that's, you know, the title and everything
Statement #3: There should be a Tag Team Royal Rumble match. FICTION - Mainly as it will be a logistical nightmare to a match where the only finish would be one babyface Ricky Mortoning their way through one or two heel tag teams in the final four
Statement #4: For Cody Rhodes to “finish the story” he must defeat Roman Reigns for the WWE Title in a WrestleMania main event. FACT - If he wins the title from Not Reigns that would be a consolation prize at best, and if he's not even in a title match at WM then he's a punchline for the remainder of his time there
Statement #5: You will consume alcohol while watching this year’s Royal Rumble match. FICTION - One time a few years back my local pub showed the Rumble live. Give the show started at 1am, and that was the 2013 Rumble where the booking went into full "Sod you, you're getting Rock vs Cena II" mode, it was not fun walking home at 4am with a few beers in me while being PO'd that the last two matches of the show were effectively Vince sticking his middle finger up at his audience. But he's stuck worse things in worse places, from what I hear...
Statement #6: Draymond Green has a WWE career waiting for him after he retires from the NBA. FICTION - Given he's a dead ringer for Ledley King, Tottenham will surely ask him if he can play centre back as that couldn't be worse than Eric Dier
Statement #7: You recognize The Big Show as the real winner of the 2000 Royal Rumble match. FACT - Because he did. At least Cena & Batista's botch managed to work out in such a way it was obvious the booking was telling the fans to ignore the evidence of their eyes and their ears
Statement #8: An “Even Greater” Royal Rumble with 60 entrants would be fun. FICTION - The 40-man Rumble was pretty bad, so adding 50% more entrants to that would be as terrible as me beginning this response and forgetting that one time they did a 50-man Rumble...
Statement #9: Jinder Mahal’s WWE championship run was underrated. FICTION - It wasn't even rated due to it being the booking equivalent of The Great Molasses Flood of 1919: slow, painful, and horrible to witness
Statement #10: Tony Khan’s tweets are fun. FICTION - While the whole "I can't support AEW as the owner is a bit cringe on Twitter" discourse is almost entirely performative garbage from garbage performers on forums and social media alike, Tony really needs somebody hovering over him to keep him from making the story about him instead of AEW
Statement #11: Santino Marella’s “I wasn’t ready!” elimination from 2009 Rumble match is the funniest moment in Royal Rumble history. FICTION - The ending of the 2005 Rumble is best for its unintended hilarity, not least due to Vince's comedic tumble as he realises he blew out both quads and having to sit there like a toddler giving instructions
Statement #12: You are more interested in what Nic Nemeth does post-WWE than Matt Riddle.  FICTION - If Nemeth bet on himself when his contract was up in the mid-2010s I certainly would have been interested in what he had to offer, but after a decade of forgetting he was still employed at various points I'm far less interested, so Riddle wins by default
Statement #13: Here’s a good idea, a TLC Royal Rumble: entrants can be eliminated by going over the top OR by being put through a table, chairs are ladders are legal, and after all 30 entrants have entered then the remaining wrestlers are able to go after a WrestleMania main event contract hanging above the ring. FICTION - I'm sure that a table battle royal exists somewhere, but there's two obvious problems with using tables for eliminations: the table not breaking, or the table breaking when it's not supposed to. Either way, any stip involving something which can't follow booking instructions like tables, glass or Koji Kitao is destined to have a botched finish sooner or later
Statement #14: In pro-wrestling, a good punch is better than a good chop.  FICTION - Not that I'm against a good worked punch, but what puts a chop over the top for me is the sound when somebody who can really lay them in, be it Gunther or Go Shiozaki or Pentagon Jr
Statement #15: In the next 20 years, someone will break Stone Cold Steve Austin’s record of 3 Royal Rumble match wins. FICTION - Most of the men on two wins have already retired so if they have (for the sake of argument) Cody winning four in a row it will be forced as hell just to create a record for the sake of creating a record - which is why I can't see them trying that with the women's Rumble, given that match is so young that it would look especially obvious if they have Bianca Belair or Rhea Ripley win it every other year to get her numbers up
Statement #16: Kazuchika Okada should go to the WWE. FICTION - Okada should go wherever he feels would be the best place for his career. That might be WWE, that might be AEW, that might be a company which isn't even in the conversation at the moment, but saying he "should" join one company or another is just like the worst part of football discourse for decades before social media became a thing and made it even more irritating
Statement #17: WCW’s three-ring World War 3 battle royale concept should be brought back. FICTION - The main issue with both WarGames and Blood & Guts is there's always the chance the camera misses something in the second ring as it's focusing on something in the first ring (or, in B&G's case, outside the ring or on top of the cage) so a third ring increases the chances of the production truck missing something
Statement #18: If The Rock wrestles at WrestleMania 40 it will NOT be his last match. FACT - Mainly because of the genuine concern that, if he does win at WM, it will be the second time in recent(ish) memory he's come back to end a lengthy title reign, meaning he has to stick around to drop the belt...right?
Statement #19: You prefer to watch actual wrestling over movies about wrestling, like The Iron Claw. FICTION - At no point when watching The Wrestler did the film cut to commercial mid-match, nor did I question Darren Aronofsky's booking decisions...until Noah, anyway, but the point I'm making...
Statement #20: Playing the Royal Rumble mode on the early ’90s WWF WrestleFest arcade game is history’s greatest wrestling video game experience. FICTION - As fun as the Wrestlefest Rumble was, the greatest wrestling game experience for me was borrowing someone's GameShark so I could actually use Jake Roberts in SDvsR 2006, as that was locked behind needing PS2 & PSP crossplay otherwise and I didn't know a single person with a PSP
Statement #21: If the top rope breaks during a battle royale, wrestlers should still be legally eliminated by being throw over the 2nd rope. FACT - Makes sense, as if the top rope breaks the middle rope becomes the top rope. Just don't ask if the top rope breaks on one side but not the other three, that's a headache waiting to happen
Statement #22: 2x Royal Rumble winner John Cena is the greatest wrestler of all time. FICTION - Mitsuharu Misawa is spinning in his urn
Statement #23: Here’s another good idea – a Reverse Royal Rumble: the match starts with all 30 entrants in the ring and every 2 minutes someone is randomly eliminated, but you can can be safe from the random countdown eliminations if you eliminate someone else first. FICTION - New rule for 411mania: anybody suggesting reverse battle royals must post photo ID to prove they aren't Vince Russo - and if they aren't, that makes it even worse
Statement #24: No one ever retires – the Undertaker will wrestle again. FICTION - Plenty of wrestlers retire for real, be it due to injuries which can't be rehabbed or because nobody noticed that they retired. More than anything else, though, since retiring Undertaker has removed the mystique he had for decades with his podcast appearances and so forth, and that genie isn't getting put back in the bottle
Statement #25: IMPACT Wrestling changing their name back to TNA will make you watch again. FICTION - It's not airing in the depths of Freeview in the UK anymore, which is why TNA had a surprisingly large following in the UK 15+ years ago, so unless there's some really good word of mouth that will send me to WatchWrestling I will likely not be actively looking to watch it
Statement #26: WWE should bring back the ECW brand again. FICTION - If there's any brand which WWE bought and then euthanised they should consider bringing back it's Evolve. No, wait, hear me out: the thing with Evolve is there's little to no emotional attachment or cultural cache attached to the brand as there is with ECW or ROH, so if they rebranded NXT LVL UP to Evolve it wouldn't hamstring the show before a second had aired, given the name is mainly associated with Gabe Sapolsky booking shows for DGUSA talent when the Dragon Gate wrestlers weren't available
Statement #27: You would be excited to see Shane McMahon as a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble match this year. FICTION - I'd rather he was a surprise entrant in MITB or the Elimination Chamber, as that means we'd guarantee somebody taking an utterly ludicrous bump in matches which sort of require it
Statement #28: WWE already has too many international PLEs scheduled for this year. FICTION - Actually having PPVs for overseas crowds, and not the UK-only PPVs that WWE used to fob off their UK audience with which HHH always seemed to be "injured" for yet healthy to appear on Raw a couple of nights later, is something WWE needed to consider for the longest time. Remember, that's actual crowds, not Bonesaw McGraw's mates...
Statement #29: It’s sad that one year ago Sami Zayn was the hottest wrestler in the world, but now no one talks about him, he has no chance of winning the Royal Rumble or ever main event-ing a WrestleMania again. FACT - Especially considering that Sami did the impossible and made the Bloodline actually interesting and not JBL's Cabinet with Polynesian tattoos, and he deserved to be rewarded for that with the booking Jey Uso is currently getting
Statement #30: CM Punk will win the 2024 men’s Royal Rumble. FACT - Seems like the wisest call to make: if Rollins is healthy come WM, Punk vs Rollins will go ahead while Cody/Reigns is for all the marbles, but if Rollins isn't healthy there's a story for Punk/Reigns or potential for a Punk/Cody/Reigns three-way - so all Punk has to do is not break his foot doing a spot that makes no sense to wreck those booking plans, or lose his rag on a habitual basis to wreck literally everything around him

The Good, The Bad, The Short Stays
February 13, 2019
Tumblr media
[Image ID: a flat photo of Regency-esque short stays made of unbleached muslin]
I started my Regency fashion journey back in the summer of 2017 and I… have not made it very far. All I have right now are a chemise that I can’t get over my shoulders (whoops!) and a set of nice looking short stays with some dark secrets. I’m disappointed with my progress - it’s hard not to be - but I’m trying my best to look at this as a learning experience. So, without further ado, let’s dig into my stays!
These are the designs and pattern pieces I started with. I drafted the pattern myself, which was a first for me, and the pattern turned out surprisingly well! The finished product even fits well!
Tumblr media
[Image ID: three mostly rectangular sewing pattern pieces labeled, from right to left, "front", "side", and "back"]
In the original designs, I had planned to have boning on either side of the center front lacing. I was forced to scrap that, as my chest just isn’t that wide. I also changed the number of gussets in each cup to four, instead of three, and made each gusset the same shape. They seem to work fine, but I’d be curious to see if shaping them would make much of a difference.
The gussets did not turn out well at all. I had never sewn gussets before, and didn’t bother doing any research before I jumped into them. I admit I still haven’t read up on gussets, but I suspect that part of the problem was that I had mis-measured the gussets and made the seam allowances too small, so when I folded in the seam allowances for the front panels and sewed them down, the gussets didn’t catch in some places. To remedy this, I hand sewed them using what could, on a technicality, be called a whip stitch, I think. The quality of my stitching isn’t very consistent, but it is very nice to run my fingers along in some places, and it serves to reinforce the seams there, which is probably a good thing.
The eyelets were also a first for me, and most of them turned out very nicely! There are 14 eyelets total, all hand-bound, with metal jump rings inside them for reinforcement. You can definitely tell which eyelets were my first if you look closely, but I’m very happy with how they turned out!
The body of the stays is just two layers of unbleached muslin. Something sturdier would have been better. The edges are bound in off-white bias tape, which seems to have worked well enough. The boning is heavy-duty zip ties, a carry-over from my cosplay days. The boning at both sides of the center front, where a busk should be, is actually just a wooden dowel. Doubling up the zip ties wasn’t giving me the support I needed for the bust (lift and separate!), so I had to find an alternative. Obviously, neither zip ties nor wooden dowels (or the jump rings in the eyelets) are ideal or washable, but they do, technically, get the job done.
Each cup has a drawstring at the top for adjustability. The shoulder straps tie to the front, also for adjustability. I ordered the cord I used for those and the front lacing from Wm Booth Draper. I had never heard of them before, but they seemed to be well-established and had lots of good reviews on their Facebook page, so I took the chance and was not let down!
To finish off, since this has gotten to be a lot longer than I meant it to, I’m not completely happy about how these turned out, but they fit and have been a very good learning opportunity for me, so I am content. I do plan on remaking them in the future, but that might be very far into the future, at this rate.
Stay warm, stay safe, stay dry.

Herbstluftwm, and a WM journey
I went on a little window manager journey earlier this month, so I'm going to write about it a touch. I had been using a slightly hacked up version of DWM for a while - I removed the tiling algorithm in favor of maximized windows by default, and planned on writing a new tiling layout. I wanted to do a columnar layout that showed a certain max number of windows, and allowed for scrolling through the windows sequentially. Modelled after something like GNOME's material shell or paperWM extensions. I never followed through on that, though.
When I started with Linux, my first OS was CrunchBang. It's been long defunct, but there is a continuation project - CrunchBang++, which is really just a metapackage installed over a Debian base. I already run Debian 12, so I decided to install the metapackage on my system and return to the #! days for a bit. I quickly became disillusioned with the mouse-centric flow of Openbox, and also, look how they murdered my boy:
Tumblr media
[image is the crunchbang menu, showing an option for Google Docs under the Office tab]
So I went back to DWM for a minute. I decided what I wanted instead was to have the Maximized-by-default behavior I used with DWM, but with the option to break a window out and tile it with the main stack if I wanted two windows side-by-side. (for those curious: I maximize windows because I use a 13" laptop, so auto tiling usually just doesn't have enough screen space for each window to be useful.) That sounded like a task for a manual tiler, not a dynamic one. Old favorite BSPWM doesn't allow monocle layout by default, so I first tried i3 - but it's only monocle-type layout out-of-the-box appeared to be a tabbed layout, and I wanted to show my windows on the bar, so I wanted a straight monocle rather than a tabbed one. That led me to herstluftwm, which I'd tried once in the past.
Long story short, it does exactly what I want (with a little configuring) - windows are stacked and maximized by default, and if I want to split a window out, that's just a keybind away. The only drawback was that it doesn't have a polybar module built-in, and I wanted it to communicate its desktop and window information to the bar. Luckily, it does have a hooks system, and Polybar has an IPC client, so it was relatively easy to write a script that formats the herbstclient output for tag and window info that runs any time hlwm changes focus, tag, or window title, and prints the output to Polybar. So now things look like this:
Tumblr media
I'll probably stick around like this for a while.

Defining Moments: 5 of WrestleMania's Finest Matches of All Time
We are a few days away from the 40th annual WrestleMania, the biggest event in professional wrestling. This year, the WWE is garnering an amount of mainstream attention that it hasn't seen since the late 1990s during the Attitude Era.
WrestleMania is known for being a spectacle. If it were a movie, it would be Star Wars, Jurassic Park, or The Avengers; it's a show that brings together casual and hardcore fans alike. In comparison to professional sports, the event is equal to the Super Bowl or the World Cup Finals in soccer.
At the first WrestleMania in 1985, celebrity involvement was featured in the matches and storylines. This tradition has been sustained over time. Almost every WrestleMania features some participation from actors, professional athletes, or political figures.
Since its inception, most WrestleMania shows have been a culmination or blow-off for most WWE (WWF) storylines. It's where a feud would come to its conclusion, or a new star was made. Over time, possibly starting with the classic Intercontinental match between Macho Man Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat, Wrestlemania became a stage for performers to put out their best effort. The goal was to steal the show and have the best match of the night.
To paraphrase a future Hall-of-Famer and current all-time great, Chris Jericho, it may last for a day when you have a great match on a house show. When you have a great match on a show like Monday Night Raw or Smackdown, it lasts about a week or more. A great match on a PPV could last a few months, a year, or a couple of years. But a great match on WrestleMania can have a lasting impact that stays forever. It's a stage where its effect can be felt by those in attendance and generations to come.
Needless to say, while the entertainment and grandeur of WrestleMania make it special, the wrestling inside the squared circle has kept people coming back for more. WrestleMania is the ultimate extravaganza in sports entertainment, but the wrestling at WrestleMania is just as vital as the spectacle.
In the same vein as music and film, what makes a great wrestling match is subjective. Some may like a fast pace with plenty of high spots, and others prefer a story that has as much drama as it does action.
Frontproof Media will unveil some of the finest WrestleMania matches in the event's nearly 40-year history. These matches are personal favorites that hold the veil of nostalgia, propelling them upward in some cases. This should not be taken as a definitive list. These are the matches that resonated with us the most in 2024. There will be lots of Macho Man Randy Savage, Bret Hart, and Shawn Michaels, and no Iron Man match.

THE TOP 5
5. ‘Rowdy Roddy’ Piper vs. Bret “The Hitman” Hart
WrestleMania VIII
April 05, 1992
WWF Intercontinental Championship
As you’ll see through most of this list, the in-ring work will hold the largest chunk regarding its placement. However, the aesthetics of the match will be significant. The little details, from the crowd to the entrances, will all be taken into account.
The Intercontinental championship is a favorite for fans who started watching wrestling in the late 1980s and early 1990s. It’s undoubtedly one of the best-looking titles, but it’s the matches associated with the championship by those who held it that truly endeared it to fans.
Rowdy Roddy Piper was one of the most famous professional wrestlers ever. He was the foil to Hulk Hogan during the height of the first WrestleMania and is remembered as one of the greatest talkers in the history of the wrestling business. He excelled outside the ring and exceeded Hogan in Hollywood by appearing in cult classics such as John Carpenter’s They Live.
Heading into WrestleMania VIII, Piper and Bret Hart were at two different stages in their careers. Piper was the veteran who held a title but never needed one, while Hart was the former champion who was still trying to prove himself as one of the company’s next top stars.
Everything about Piper vs. Hart works on all levels. From the interview segment right before the match to the stellar commentary of the late Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan. It’s the rare all-babyface match that kept the crowd cheering for both competitors.
Looking back at Hart’s work, one of the aspects that stands out is the little unique nuances he would add to the story of his matches. This was especially true during his first run in the early 1990s.
The match starts slow, but after Hart gets the better of Piper during some exchanges, a slap to the face changes the mood in the ring. In several instances, Hart plays possum, pretending to be more hurt than he is to get a pinfall on Piper. This only infuriates Piper and leads him to brawl.
So much was packed into a match that was less than 15 minutes. Piper almost turned to the dark to wallop Hart with the bell to the blood, which added to the drama. Hart would defeat Piper by reversing a sleeper hold for his second Intercontinental Championship. For this writer, his run from SummerSlam 1991-1992 is the best run of any champion to hold the title.
For years, Hart was embroiled in controversy and personal feuds with Hogan. But getting put over by Piper may have been even better. Piper-Hart remains one of the most underrated championship matches in the history of WrestleMania.
4. Macho King Randy Savage vs. The Ultimate Warrior
WrestleMania VII
March 24, 1991
Retirement Match
Although recognized as one of the greatest performers in the history of professional wrestling, Randy Savage still feels underrated. Bret Hart and Shawn Michales get most of the credit for ushering in relatively smaller performers at the world championship level. But Savage, who may have been smaller in stature than both, was the first to hold the WWF (WWE) world title multiple times before either was on the world title scene.
The Ultimate Warrior would never be considered a great worker who can have an excellent match with anyone. But, in the right circumstances and story, he managed to pull his weight to deliver.
A unique entrant on this list, Savage-Warrior is all about the story and drama. Savage met the Warrior in a retirement match after costing him the world title against Sgt. Slaughter at that year’s Royal Rumble event. Savage, at the time, was aligned with Queen Sherri, and during the match, the camera constantly cut toward Miss Elizabeth, who was in attendance.
The action inside the ring was kept simple, with Savage doing the majority of the work and pulling out all the stops to make the Warrior look as strong as possible. Savage would land five of his famous diving elbow drops to no avail, as the Warrior defeated him after three shoulder blocks. However, the victory almost didn’t matter, as the drama was all on Savage.
After the match and now forced into retirement, Savage was attacked by Sherri, who drew Miss Elizabeth from the crowd. In a scene out a movie, Elizabeth and Savage embraced to the roar of the audience. It is still one of the most memorable WrestleMania moments in history.
For delivering the best match of the Ultimate Warrior’s career and doing so in one of the most emotional matches in WrestleMania history, Savage deserves tons of praise. It’s a match with infinite replay value and highlights the magic behind what makes professional wrestling so enticing for fans.
Certainly, Savage’s classic match with Ricky Steamboat could have easily been on this list. The match with Warrior is here because it was a more difficult endeavor and an example of why Randy Savage should be mentioned more frequently in any discussion of the best of all time.
3. Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels
WrestleMania 21
April 03, 2005
Dream Match
I am fully willing to admit that I am in the minority and on an island by myself regarding my opinion on some of Shawn Michaels' WrestleMania matches. You'll find Michaels' match with The Undertaker from WrestleMania 25 on most lists. It's considered one of the best matches in the event's history and has been given rare status with few peers. However, as far as I'm concerned, that level of adoration belongs to Michael's match with Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 21.
Seldom do dream matches live up to the expectations in the minds of fans. And yet Angle-Michaels was a perfect style clash that told a story that could only be weaved through professional wrestling.
Whenever Kurt Angle stepped into the ring, everything he did was with purpose. There was a matter of logic and intent to his work combined with small details that made him a veteran in less than a decade. The level of intensity in his work made you forget you were watching professional wrestling. He crossed back and forth between the lines of reality and entertainment.
Michaels and Angle took their time, starting with the former Olympic gold medalist mat wrestling his opponent. The match slowly built into a crescendo, gradually increasing the intensity, leading to one of the most momentous endings to any WrestleMania match.
The second half of Michael's career, when he returned in 2002, allowed him to be part of one of the greatest rosters of any wrestling company in history. He took advantage of his surroundings and arguably surpassed his accomplishments of the 1990s in his prime.
With numerous stellar matches on his resume, this match firmly anointed Michaels with the crown of Mr. WrestleMania. No matter the expectation or circumstance, Michaels always delivered on the biggest stages. Angle-Michaels was special and is the benchmark that fans will hold as the gold standard whenever dream matches are brought up.
2. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H vs. Chris Benoit
WrestleMania XX
March 14, 2004
World Heavyweight Championship
This is the most controversial pick on this list. It isn't easy at times to separate fandom from reality. And because of that, this main event has been largely forgotten and buried due to Chris Benoit's involvement. This focuses simply on the match itself.
For years, the triple-threat match between Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Chris Benoit was arguably the best main event in WrestleMania history. The match was near perfect. It took its time to tell a story and was action-packed and bloody. It also gave the then-underdog a moment of glory that felt cathartic to most hardcore wrestling fans. Unfortunately, that moment has been ruined for most.
But on its own, in a vacuum where nothing exists after, this match has countless memorable spots. Madison Square Garden was fully invested in the match and behind Benoit, cheering almost every move. From Michaels and Triple H deciding to work together to get rid of Benoit, Michaels's crimson bloody mask of a face, and the dramatic ending with Benoit putting Triple H in the cross-face submission. The match works on all levels as the perfect main event.
WrestleMania hasn't been in an arena setting since 2006, with WrestleMania 22 in Chicago. The event in 2020 took place in an empty arena due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Going back to watch WrestleMania 20 and 22, one yearns for that crowd setting, especially in the case of 22, as every match felt like a smaller version of Hulk Hogan's match with The Rock from WrestleMania 18.
The ending with Benoit celebrating, then seeing Eddie Guerrero in the ring applauding him and then embracing was genuinely remarkable. Guerrero had a stellar match with Kurt Angle earlier that same night, which could have also made this list.
It's contentious and concealed in hiding, meant to be forgotten due to the winner's actions a few years later. However, the triple threat match from WrestleMania 20 encompasses everything that makes the event historic. It provides moments you'll never forget, even if you want to.
1A. Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart
WrestleMania X
March 20, 1994
Brother vs. Brother
1B. Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon
WrestleMania X
March 20, 1994
Ladder Match for the Undisputed Intercontinental Championship
WrestleMania X isn't usually considered one of the top-tier WrestleMania events. Primarily, it's in the middle of the pack. But when I think of the event, words like flawless and revolutionary come to mind. It's a show that has two perfect matches.
The Brother vs. Brother match between real-life brothers Bret Hart and Owen Hart is often relegated to being labeled as the best opening match in WrestleMania history. However, it deserves to be mentioned as one of the best in the company's history and professional wrestling in general.
The story of the bratty younger brother trying to prove himself at the expense of his older brother is relatable to anyone with a sibling.
This opening match at WrestleMania 10 is a showcase for Owen Hart. He does some of the high-flying moves that made him famous but is purposely restrained, instead choosing to wrestle on even terms with his brother. The pace of the match had a high intensity with every move done with purpose to further the story being told.
Amazingly, the way the match was constructed wasn't the original plan. Changes were made at the last minute to ensure that the story of Owen as the heel brother was kept intact. This proved to be the correct strategy.
"There's a funny story about that match," Bret Hart told Sports Illustrated in 2020. "Owen and I had a match worked out that we worked on for three or four weeks. We were all set to do the match; we had it all locked in. Then, I called him the night before we left to fly to New York. I said, 'Meet me up at Dad's house; we need to change the whole match.' So we met in 'The Dungeon' and changed everything.
"Owen was too babyface," Hart continued. "He had too many nice moves. I remember I said to Owen, 'You're a heel now. You've got to stay that way.' If Owen did a bunch of dropkicks off the top, they're going to go, 'Why are we booing this guy?' We needed him more mean, more nasty, more cheap shots, doing anything to win—the ball shot, biting and bending my finger. If you watch that match, he really got heat."
The match has the advantage of having two endings. The ending with the obnoxious Owen coming out on top by using one of Bret's proven moves, the victory roll against him, was brilliant.
But what puts the match over the top is at the end of the show. Later that night, after triumphantly winning back the WWF (WWE) World Championship, Bret Hart is held on the shoulder of the company's babyfaces. Then there's Owen standing in the aisle, staring at his brother while seething. He proved he was on his brother's level with a victory earlier that night, and now Bret stands as the world champion. It was the perfect ending that continued a feud that defined 1994.
The ladder match between Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon might be tame compared to some of its successors. However, much like the match between the Hart brothers, Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels executed a story while managing to be innovative. This wasn't a match just filled with high spots; it was a battle for who could claim to be the true Intercontinental champion. That bit of reality was felt throughout the match, and the details of both performers brought the match to another level.
The entrances with Michaels moving around the ladder and Ramon going under the ladder are the little moments that can add so much to a match. The impact this match would have on future generations is comprehensive and has yet to be done better. There have been bigger spots and falls from greater heights, but none were better matches.
It didn't quite steal the show from Bret and Owen. However, I won't debate anyone who has the Ladder match as the best of the show.

✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name?
🥊 -What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?
🧊 - Is their current design the first one?
🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?
Yukina, Izumi and Rei 👹👹
— @bihanspookies 🫶
eeeeee, the WMS girilies!!! 💓💓💓
YUKINA
✨- how did you come up with the OC’s name? - when i was about 13, my mom bought me an OVA from best buy called "seraphim call." in said OVA was a character whose name was yukina kurimoto (she was the first episode's lead if you're curious)
i don't know WHAT clicked in my brain, but from then on, i named my girl after her. the thing is, when you use an existing character's name verbatim, it might not bode well as it could be considered plagiarism and your OC gets mixed with the official character in art folders (OOPS)
once i was older and realized the error of my ways, i needed something to differentiated the two. so i changed the kanji:
seraphim call's yukina: 雪菜 (the kanji in her name mean "snow" and "vegetable")
my yukina: 雪奈 (the kanji in her name mean "snow" and "endure")
🥊 - what do they love to do? what do they hate to do? - yukina loves travelling, especially in the company of her friends and loved ones! from the northern reaches of ukyo ward to the openess beyond, she loves seeing new things and opening herself up to new expieriences
now, i don't think there's anything she hates doing...but i will say that she doesn't like cleaning the house when it's super hot out due to her sensitivity to heat. she has to either break up the chores per day or take breaks, neither of which she's a fan of
🧊 - is their current design the first one? - for the most part! originally, yukina was more of a self-insert and wasn't even a hybrid OC. back then, she was strictly a sailor moon OC and her guardian form was pink and red (like another sailor guardian. i think i'm seeing a pattern in baby luna's choices ghdjkfghfdlj)
but once i started crafting her to be her own character and made the original beats for "white moon saga" in 2009, she got an updated guardian form, casual clothes, etc.
since then, she's pretty much stayed the same!
🧠 - what do you like most about the OC? - oh gosh, there's a lot about yukina i enjoy. from her being the longest-lasting OC i have to being the building blocks of how to craft characters, this girl has a special place in my heart
BUT, if you wanna look at it from a different perspective, i love that despite her past and everything she's been through, she's remained kind. she could have easily been written to be a more tragic character with outward angst, but to me, the biggest flex a character can have is to be humble and kind after tragedy (even if you still suffer from it at an internal level)
IZUMI
✨- how did you come up with the OC’s name? - during WMS's early days, i wanted to have a character with the surname "harada" because WINK WONK, it was a tekken story lmaooooo. while that might be izumi's origin, her surname got scrapped fairly recently!
in 2022, i finally got the courage to write WMS in full (i only ever wrote small portions back in the day, and i think most of them are lost since the story has gone through multiple revisions)
while working on izumi's profile, i got the intuitive nudge to follow madoka magica's recipe of using two first names for a character (like kyoko sakura for example)
from there, her surname went from "harada" to "himeno"
🥊 - what do they love to do? what do they hate to do? - BAKING! izumi was part of the home ec club in high school, so it put her skill set to good use. she also loves going to j-pop / idol shows, catching up on her favorite manga, and hanging out with yukina at their favorite cafe
if there's anything izumi hates, it's taking tests. she's the type of person who procrastinates studying until last minute, which causes her IMMESNSE levels of stress. the only time she put her nose to the books was when during the college application process because her mom was INSISTENT she take it seriously (though in truth, it's because she wanted to attend college in her hometown of fukuoka)
🧊 - is their current design the first one? - yes! of the three main girlies, izumi is the only one to retain her OG design without any sort of adjustment (minor or major)
🧠 - what do you like most about the OC? - in my eyes, izumi's the kind of person you'd want as your friend! she's bubbly, fun, and cares a lot about your well being. she's also the type to say things as they are, which you need now and again. it might cause some tension, but it's better to have someone be honest than try and be your "yes man"
REI
her questions spoil some things in "white moon saga," so from here on, answers will be under the cut
✨- how did you come up with the OC’s name? - in the early days of WMS, yukina (or selene in this case) had the closest bond to sailor mars during her time in crystal tokyo
when adding rei to the story, i wanted to pay homage to that bond by giving her the same name. i'll admit that i've tried giving her a new name over the years, but no matter what i tried, nothing stuck, so she remains as "rei" to this day! she also has her name written in katakana, same as the guardian of fire
🥊 - what do they love to do? what do they hate to do? - rei's a little bit of a mythology buff, so she loves looking into the occultism and mythos of the world to learn about the past. she also loves travelling and exploring new places her mother before her
like yukina, i don't think rei hates doing anything in particular; however, her incarnation during the main story suffers from social anxiety, so for her, a lot of things are scary ghfkjghdlk
🧊 - is their current design the first one? - of all the OCs i have, rei went through the most drastic change. originally, she had dark brown hair with red tips and was styled like misa amane's from death note (this style remains in her child / toddler design, though)
oddly enough, when i first saw juri oba from magia record, i was like, "...EXCUSE ME. that's...that's old rei's hair" gdfhjghdl. nowadays, she rocks a head of blonde hair that's a couple of inches past her shoulders and wisps out of the ends; in the epilogue, her hair is halfway down her back
fashion wise, though, she's stayed being a mix of her mother and father's aesthetics, so that luckily stayed
🧠 - what do you like most about the OC? - watching rei evolve has been the greatest joy. from her shrinking violet days in the main story to her more confident and assured self in the epilogue, her growth is a reflection of my own; not only as a writer, but as a person
thanks for asking! | send an OC question
