Hi guys! I'm happy to announce my draw-the-book art contest, which will be running from May 18th to June 30th! The premise is simple: draw a scene from any WoF book or graphic novel in your style!

The prizes are, as listed in the image above:

1st - $75 USD or a free fullbody/anything commission!

2nd - $50 USD or a free halfbody commission!

3rd - A free bust commisison!

art contest entry!! this is an entry to @ravewing ‘s art contest and aaahhdfhf these characters were so fun to draw! i’m really happy with how this turned out but it took me ages (like 7 hours or something??) bc i kept making last minute changes to it BUT IT TURNED OUT REALLY WELL AND IM SUPER PROUD OF IT

This might not be a new idea, but do you think that RainWings would be bartenders? Cause I TOTALLY think they would be. With all their rainforest fruit that could be fermented, who knows what boozy ass drinks they've come up with?

Also drunk dragons are really funny to me lol

Rainwings feel like they'd create some fucking BANGER drinks. like knock-you-on-your-ass-if-you-haven't-grown-up-with-it drinks. A drunk Rainwing would be quite a sight, I can't imagine their "composure" of color sticking after a few good drinks, but I don't think it'd be a clear read- just this watercolor painting of shifting whorls of color as each thought registers with 100% sincerity and totality. Rainwings party hard, this is an undeniable fact

Rainwing bartenders probably wouldn't be a full time job but I imagine a "party planner" role being something that comes up in Rainwing life. Probably before major events or for parties they would temporarily jump the fruit queue, so to speak, and have a bit of social currency/power for setting up the party. In a flight without much power struggle/economy, I think a good bartender is as much a respectable position and authority in Rainwing matters as the main gardeners or builders. I also would imagine they would have a building or area for fermenting drinks.

Yeargh..!! Here is my submission to @duck_in_a_bucket ‘s character creation contest!! To explain a little bit, I created a little Sandwing kid named Griffen! He’s probably about pre-teen age and often wants to ‘prove’ himself, having a pretty stoic and cool boy attitude when he’s really just a rebellious youngster mixed up with a rag tag crowd. I based him off of colored canyons and a little bit of cowboys! Now, onto the story ✨ (which can be changed or adjusted by Duck in any way shape or form.)

Story: Griffen was a hatchling when his parents got mixed up in the wrong crowd, and as a result faced a lot of hardship in life. Because of his step-father’s horrible nature and neglect from a worn out mom he fled to find better things in life. This lead him to the MudWing Kingdom where he was promptly arrested and charged with stealing a cow, fortunately for him he managed an escape and wearily made his way to the beaches of the SeaWing Kingdom where he met the crew! Pretty new himself he is eager to rise the ranks and become a super cool pirate, although not realizing life on the sea might not be the best for a youngster. His claws are stained from ammunition powder and he looks up to the SandWing prince (often copying him) due to their connection in species, on the other hand he’s TERRIFIED of the MudWing troop. Overall he’s a cocky, annoying kid who is in a ‘coming of age’ story currently ^^ Hope you enjoy! ❤️(BTW he wears a vest to sheild from explosions, cloth to keep frill out of his face, and crooked tail from it being stepped on!!)

Hi, I love you’re redesigns so much, and I am wondering if my favorite character (Waspy) is on the character waitlist or if you have already redesigned her?

Thank you!! I actually tried to do her a few times before, but it was kind of a struggle since I want her to be super devious but never knew how - until today. @kingfisher298 and @nickyblurrymind33 also wanted to see, so I am proud to finally announce my redesign of Queen Wasp! I apologize in advance.

Edit: (putting this up here so nobody misses it, but I was informed this morning that the person who’s request I replied to is actually an extremely problematic individual. I didn’t know this at the time and would’ve blocked/used someone else’s request if I did, and I deeply apologize for this mistake.)

Getting the obvious out of the way, yes, she is creepy. Very creepy. When making this redesign, illustrating Queen Wasp in the scariest way possible was the main thing on my mind. I wanted to create a design which would accurately reflect (and justify) every thought Blue has ever had in regards to Wasp, as well as truly vilifying her even down to the first impression. She is described as incredibly tall and lanky: and as much as I tried to make this visible through her build, I did end up shortening her neck + making her head bigger to give her a more passively intimidating vibe. I think it would be way creepier if she was so large that she could still tower over other dragons even with the posture I drew her with. I imagine the bottom of her mouth is about how tall an average dragon is.

I took a lot of inspiration from the ichneumonid wasp, a parasitic insect which A) looks disturbing, and B) lays its eggs in caterpillars. Not only is that horrifying in itself - I also thought it fit Wasp very well, given that she injects hivewing eggs with the breath of evil to gain control over them. Her ribcage and bones are well-defined through her patterns, since I had her plant-only diet in mind when creating this and imagined she would be rather malnourished. Outside of the oodles of spikes I added to her limbs and spine, I also decided on giving her three stingers instead of one - because one isn't enough for someone as evil as her. (I also thought that the single stinger looked really stupid while I drew this.) You may have noticed the breath of evil along her stinger! Whilst I did originally plan on making this a consistent feature in her design, I waited until the end to add it and by that time it just clashed really hard with the other details in place.

I'm a fan of how Queen Wasp was presented as a villain, and I really wish she stayed the main antagonist through the entirety of arc 3. I was really hoping to get more story on social justice for silkwings + a chrysalis-focused rebellion type thing, but I'm not entirely unhappy with the ending since at least we got to meet Freedom. Either way, this redesign is definitely one of the more abstract, but I'm personally pretty happy with how it turned out!

qibli & kinkajou are def the type to dress as obscure pop culture references (gay halloween core)

turtle never knows what to go as & always stresses out about it

burn doesn't participate in anything BUT decoration, which she goes all out for

blaze likes to give out candy but no one comes to the stronghold because the dragonets get too scared of burn's decor

scarlet throws really lavish parties each year (probably masquerades) burn's always forced to go & hates every second

a lot of nightwings & icewings dress up as darkstalker & he gets really mad over it

similarly a lot of seawings go as albatross; they're both urban legends (think bloody mary)

onyx is number 1 halloween enthusiast. shows up with a really detailed costume

(modern au) onyx also always has recommendations for what to watch; they're always really obscure horror movies that no one's heard of but they're all traumatized by

i guess the pyrrian equivalent of horror movies would be like. scary stories read aloud on scrolls? idk but onyx would bring a bunch

winter isn't that into halloween (didn't grow up celebrating it) but really enjoys pumpkin carving & usually wins in pumpkin carving contests

turtle gets scared everytime by those jumping spider animatronics without fail

clay is the undisputed champion at bobbing for apples

kinkajou eats like all of her candy in 1 night & always gets sick the next day

qibli will store his candy to "eat it for later" & then forgets about it for like a year

winter gets a little matching costume for bandit

moon dresses up but usually as something simple (like a witch maybe) & reuses it for following years

sunny loves to host halloween parties at jma, partially because she & the rest of the dod never got to celebrate it growing up

qibli & winter once got voted as "cutest couple costume" despite neither of their costumes having anything to do with the other's

glory the type to show up with a "this is my costume" t-shirt

I’m practicing the. is it rendering? Does this look like semi realism or no I’m staring at my dog intensely. Staring contest. Her eyes go east and west when she stares for too long. She looks like a scarred child. She’s half chihuahua
