Saw Bob Weir and the Wolf Brothers last night. It was my first time seeing the band (or the Capitol Theatre, which is so easy to get to I have no excuse not to), and I had an absolute blast.
Set 1 started off with a slow but tight Greatest Story to warm us up. Followed by Iko Iko, which the crowd was really into. Really got into the sing-along spirit that makes Iko so fun. The transition into Only a River was impressive- especially with Bob switching instruments. But for me the set really got cooking with a funked up arrangement of Come Together by The Beatles, followed by a full Weather Report Suite. It was awesome. I was on cloud nine.
Set 2 had great energy throughout- Ramble on Rose was another singalong to get us started and nailed it. Of all the players in the Wolf Pack, I think it's the violinist who impressed me the most last night- he was ON. Truckin' was great- slow but not too slow, clean and tight, every part really working for itself. The Playin' in the Bandwich was awesome- the Playin and its Reprise both had tasty jams, and how could you not love a Supplication. But the real reason to write home for this show : Morning Dew. It was just perfect. Bobby's vocals were sharp, expressive. The underscoring was varied and emotional. They really nailed the storytelling, and blew me away musically
I've listened to the Wolf Bros before. I've seen their livestreams before. I liked it, but didn't love it. But I understand now. This is a band I needed to see in person to really get, and I'm so glad I did. Really fun time, definitely adding Wolf Bros to my See Whenever in Town list.

Black-throated wind, keeps on pouring in
With its words of a life where nothing is new
Ah, mother American night, I pass from the light
Oh, I'm drowning in you
