Anyone else haunted by how, early on in Crooked Kingdom, Matthias looks through a Ketterdam window to see a simple, happy scene between a husband and wife, and finds himself longing for himself and Nina to be able to enjoy that domesticity, which he characterises as impossible, and then after Matthias’ death Nina looks at all the candles that the Ketterdam citizens have put in their windows, a local superstition to ward off the plague, and says that she’s pretending the candles are in mourning for him? Because I am

One thing that was on my Six of Crows spin-off wishlist was a Kanej equivalent to the Wesper scene where they’re waking up together and Kaz knocks on the door and tells them to get downstairs. “Wait but the touch aversion and trauma” — I know, I know, hear me out.

The scene opens with Kaz and Inej waking up in Kaz’s bed, fully clothed, on top of the blankets, six inches apart. Their hair’s barely mussed — they’ve clearly done nothing but sleep as close as they can manage, which is to say their knees haven’t even touched. But there’s a sweetness as they slowly blink awake and see the other and take in the fact that it’s morning and they’ve done it, they’ve spent the night together and it was nice. “Are you okay?” he murmurs to her. Inej nods, still sleepy. “You?” she checks. He nods. They link pinkies in the space between the pillows.

Then there comes the raucous pounding on the door and they both startle. Jesper’s voice follows, shouting for Kaz. Inej is already out of bed and bolting for the open window before Kaz can barely say “Wait—” Now he’s annoyed and grumpy as he angrily limps for the door and yanks it open. “What,” he barks at Jesper.

“It’s Inej.” Jesper’s breathless and panicked. “Her room’s empty. No one saw her get home last night. We need to—”

“I’m right here.”

Jesper yelps in fright as Inej appears right behind him, only slightly out of breath.

“You’ve got to stop doing that,” he complains, clutching his chest. “We need a better system.”

Meanwhile, Kaz’s eyes are saucers, his eyebrows raised as he stares at her, the question in his mind so clearly written on his face: how did you do that?!

But Inej just looks smug as her glance flicks between the two of them.

“Breakfast at the Kooperom?” she asks lightly on her way to the stairs.

“Yes.” Kaz looks practically smitten as she leaves. Jesper stares at him like he’s sprouted tentacles.

“What was that?” Jesper wants to know. Kaz’s expression immediately falls back into his usual death scowl.

“Knock on my door like that again and I’ll plaster my walls with your innards,” he says before slamming the door in an amused Jesper’s face.

Hear me out, we pull a heist and steal the six of crows spin-off rights and script. Then we hire all the crows (Amita, Freddy, Danielle, Kit, Calahan, Jack) to record all their parts, then we hire the animators that made arcane to make an arcane style six of crows spin-off and another six of crows show that's more similar to the books (so we end up with both closure to the show and 2 six of crows shows)

i know im supremely late to the party but what the fuck do you mean we would have had an explanation behind the little piano melody Wylan plays in episode three. you mean to tell me that there would have been a wylan centric episode. that we wouldve had matthias calling wylan a lamb. we wouldve had jesper getting jealous and confessing his love. we wouldve had a goddamn backstory to his piano tune. and netflix fucking cancelled it? im so pissed im gonna go bite something

How do you plan on two spinoffs and cancel everything???

I'm saying this again

Netflix doesn't even WANT successful shows that have a bit of effort and skill put into them cause they don't want to pay for it

They rather produce trash and hope it takes off instead of investing into things that are actually promising and full of potential and have ppl who care, working on it

They all and we deserve better

Let's get them a new home!

Something about how Nina created the fake plague in Ketterdam and she made the siren sound and how when it starts ringing Kaz says it wails like the piercing cry of a woman in mourning and when Matthias dies Nina screams and the scream scratches against the empty place where her heart used to be something something

One of the reasons why I truly mourn the Six of Crows spinoff is that we never got to see Nina on Jurda Parem. Who knows, perhaps in this moment, we could have gotten a glimpse of what the world looked like through her perspective in that minute after she consumes the drug. We might have seen glowing lines for veins, arteries, and capillaries. We might have heard a thousand heartbeats at once. We might have seen and heard the change in Kaz's breathing and his pulse when he looks at Inej. We might have heard something similar from Inej, as well.

It could have been so incredible.

I believe that the S&B series is an alternative grishaverse universe. Where the crows are a little older, and where Alina has brown hair. The show doesn't have to resemble the book WORD BY WORD, that is why it was so good to watch, it had different plots from the books, yet mostly the same actions. We should stop hating on it. Let's hate on netlfix instead, for cancelling it
