It's a box! Or more accurately a box made up of minor mistakes. Been working on improving my dovetails and trying out some extra flourishes with the lid and base. It's kinda a mini version of the school box described in the Joiner and Cabinet maker. (Which incidentally,the full sized one is next on my project list.).

Overall the base moldings ended up a bit too wide so it looks a tad awkward. Also I didn't want to spend anymore time finishing it so it likely needs another coat or two of shellac.

im so fucking sad i found the perfect gift for my moms fiance whose a woodworker that likes fun socks last month but my mom took a while getting back to me about what size i should get and then when i had that info and went to order it it was out of stock except for picking them up in person in a store a whole country away in fucking saskatoon. and then i found an ebay listing for these same socks but it had ended like literally the day before..

Spent some time working on the frame for a mortise and tenon based chest. The design is loosely based off of a medieval chest/grain larder I saw in an episode of Secrets of the Castle. A random show about a group of archeologists working at a site in France where people were building a castle.

I realized I still have 26 mortises left to cut for the sides and top, I think I may have made a bad design decision. Ah well.
