What's your favorite hdg story?

Story/plot wise, Alone in the dark, together by Houp_kom_slakgedakru. It's a very creative and wholesome story about a Terran who evolved to survive in harsh conditions where she was left, rendering her unable to communicate, but with the abilities of an apex predator able to hunt her own food to survive. The Affini in this story decides to take on the challenge of giving her the best life possible despite all the difficulties that arise with her being such a "feral" (in the literal sense of the term) As for raw smut that I read when I'm purely just horny, Medicine Show by violet_moonvine is a very erotic one shot about a feral being broken in by the torture of an Affini Mistress and her floret. As an honorable mention for a story which isn't quite set in the HDG universe but still shares an Affini character and is under the tag (which is why I'm including this as an HM) is In the Vines of Magic by the same author as the first story. It features a magical Affini from a slightly different universe than the one we're used to kidnapping a Terran and turning her into her familiar. She teaches her magic, and also tortures her sexually in some of the most erotic ways I've ever seen in the entire HDG workbase- If you're curious about any other stories that I enjoy, I have a ton of bookmarks of stories on Ao3 that I regularly read through here

Groundworks and concreting works required in 4 jobs. Job 1 – Container access step extension and repair Approx 14.5m x 0.5m x 0.25m new concrete. Break out and  make good broken areas. Infill and extend existing step to  area shown on plan & dimensions above. Job 2 – Concrete floor replacement between Welfare Unit and small container Area approx. 5.1m x 8.7m. Remove old concrete base and shingle area next to welfare unit. Dig out and install compacted sub-base type 1  material 100mm depth, with 200mm depth concrete laid on top. What is Recognition of Prior Learning RPL?

Recognition of prior learning rpl is the process by which your knowledge, skills and experience can be given a formal value. It enables you to gain credits within formal certificate, diploma and degree qualifications.

There is much debate concerning the potentials of this practice. One concern is that it could lead to a rigid approach to the recognition processes, with no flexibility in terms of assessment and the classification of learning outcomes.

What is RPL?

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is the process of acknowledging skills you have obtained through formal and informal training or work experience. This can be used to award credits within a qualification or give you access to a higher level course.

The RPL assessment is done by a qualified assessor and is usually face-to-face, but can also be online or by video conference depending on the evidence you have to provide. The assessor will look at your previous education, employment or other work-related activities and compare this with the learning outcomes of the qualification you are applying for.

RPL can be applied to a number of qualifications, from foundation and associate degree courses to postgraduate diplomas, bachelor honours degrees and master’s degrees. If you want to put RPL towards a higher level course you will need to check the eligibility criteria on the course page and in the programme regulations. You can only apply for a maximum of two thirds of a full award through RPL.

How do I apply for RPL?

If you are applying for RPL for part or all of your course, make sure you apply at least 20 working days before the first day of teaching (or earlier if you are doing a workbased degree). This is to give you time to complete your portfolio of evidence.

You will be asked to submit a portfolio of evidence containing examples of your competence. This can include things like certificates, references and performance evaluation reports. The assessor will consider all of this and match it against a qualification.

Your assessed previous learning could count towards subject credits within formal certificate, diploma and degree qualifications and provide access to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The assessment may also identify areas where you have gaps in knowledge or skills which you can address with additional study. RPL is often used by people who want to start a new career, but aren’t quite ready to commit to full-time study.

What happens if I’m accepted for RPL?

Turn your skills, knowledge and experience into accredited Australian qualifications that will fast-track your career.

We recognise the learning you’ve gained through a variety of sources, including formal and informal work, hobbies, sports, volunteering, and education courses. You can receive credit for modules that align with your previous experience, meaning you don’t have to study them again (and don’t need to attend lectures or write exams) but may be expected to complete the associated assessment tasks.

As part of the process of applying for rpl queensland, your portfolio is assessed by an AEATS Trainer Assessor who will provide you with validation on the quality of your evidence before it’s included in your application. The assessment process is free for most courses, but there’s a fee if you’re using RPL to apply to the second or third year of a degree. These fees will be clearly outlined in our application forms.

What happens if I don’t get accepted for RPL?

The value of your prior knowledge, skills and experience is recognised when you apply for RPL. It can speed up the time it takes to complete your course and mean you don’t have to repeat subjects you already know a lot about.

It also means you can start your qualification at a higher level, meaning you have to study fewer subjects to gain the same qualifications. This can save you time and money on course fees.

The rpl assessment process is not easy – demonstrating your learning takes work and effort, but it is possible for most. It is usually done against qualifications offered by CPUT and can be applied to both formal and informal education, including life experience such as volunteer work, hobbies and interests and workplace training. Successful credit applications appear on your academic transcript with the code EX. You still need to attend classes for the subjects that you don’t get credit for.

Long arse OC name post ahoy: Keahi Shepard- Keahi is a plant native to Hawaii, Tubuai and Cook Islands. It has distinctly red stems. Keahi also means flames/fire. Keahi's mum Rita took one look at their impressive crop of red curls they were born with and chose the name. I believe I found it by searching for plants native to Hawaii, looking for possible name inspo that would fit the background I was forming for this Shepard (Rita being Hawaiin & kiwi and a botanist). The dual meaning of flames and having already given Keahi red hair, just fit so nicely. It is also used as a given name and is gender neutral. Blaise Shepard- Blaise is a name i've always liked anyway and it provided a perfect ongoing Shepard flames theme.

Pavan Shepard (Blaises' drell dad) I started just trying to think of drell sounding words, then checking they didn't have any unintentional meanings (always check your "made up" words is a good rule of life). Pavan is a given name in India, another name for the Hindu god Vayu, god of wind, and an asteroid. That all fit nicely. Mina Krios- Feron and Kolyat's child. Another name I thought could sound drellish, rolled off the tongue nicely and just sounded good. Mina is actually named after Feron's ship Mina, a name he gave it after a flower which had similar purple-silver hues to it's hull. Mina was the first place Feron ever felt like a true safe home, even moreso once Kolyat moved in and it was their home and workbase. Mina came to mean heart and home to Feron and Kolyat. Mina the ship was tragically destroyed in the war shortly before baby Mina was born. Kolyat suggested naming them for the place that meant so much and Feron had a good cry and agreed it was perfect (i'm sappy).

capitalism sucks cause it ultimately atomizes people and uproots the solidarity we have with others. ie: we as workers would all love to have the sympathy of others when we seek to improve our workplace etc conditions so we empathize with others even if they “cause us inconveniences”. I think people misunderstand that strikes are supposed to have profound impact. that’s how people know they’re important.

I agree with you. Capitalism capitalizes (eh eh) on dividing people. As long as people get upset with each other at the working class level, the ones who get richer through exploiting their workbase can basically keep doing what they do, unhindered.

And, this I think goes for both strikes and protests of other kind, there's been a shift in the last 10 to oh 15 years maybe? that you can strike or protest as long as it's peaceful and quiet, but that's like the opposite of a protest. When a strike cancels a flight or a train, you're reminded that the people actually running aren't the ones sitting cozy in their CEO chairs.

Does it suck to miss something because of a strike? Yeah, but people died for the right to go on strike, and we never know when it'll be our livelihood on the line.

How their jobs work

Basically, what the creep’s jobs are like in my AU, because I felt like talking about more lore today

The creeps in my AU are basically vigilantes/assassins that have to work for a different company, like the ones that Slender and Zalgo run, although there's a whole bunch of them across the Underworld, just not as popular or well known as theirs. The workers for those companies do not apply to the job; they are recruited to work there by the head of the company, essentially scouted for their abilities.

Each company has its own unique uniform, although they're customizable by the wearer to an extent. I've touched on this in my art a bit, like stating the fact that all of Slender's workers have red soles on their shoes, but a majority of the rest of the uniform is completely customizable. The requirements in general for uniforms in their line of work are boots to fit all terrains, tactical clothing (i.e, pants, shirts, etc.), and an optional utility belt and medkit to take on the job, but while that is optional in general, it may be enforced by your particular employer.

When it comes to weaponry usage, that depends on your employer as well. At well known businesses like Zalgo and Slender's, all employees are required to be trained to be able to use every available weapon. However, in more general businesses that aren't as popular, full weapon knowledge isn't required. The creeps that work are all trained to be able to use any given weapon, and they are supplied at least two customizable weapons of choice by their employer. If they want more weapons than that, they must be sought out and purchased with their own money.

All employees are, of course, paid a salary for the jobs that they do. The amount of money paid depends on the difficulty of the job that they take on, ranging anywhere from $100 per job for general customers up to millions of dollars for a very high-end high-risk assassination job. The job can get extremely dangerous, but the creeps are all well aware of this risk and have accepted that as a part of their lives. A customer will go to the business of their choice and file a job, then the head of the business will select a worker they think would be fit for the job, HOWEVER, the creeps do have the right to refuse a job if they don't want to take it on.

In my AU Slender and Zalgo are at a sort of truce- this is because in my AU in the Underworld, it might not be entirely uncommon for two different companies to work together for a specific job. Thus, it isn't uncommon for the creeps to end up working with Zalgo's employees, or employees of another company. They don't necessarily have to "get along", but if you are assigned to a case that requires cooperation, you must be peaceful and non-violent with the other workers, even if you find it to be a challenge. Being violent towards another company would be seen as similar to an act of war in a sense, and it would cause those companies to dissolve into fighting. To avoid this, peace is mandatory to avoid catastrophic disasters between the companies of the Underworld.
