Slight plump beam to tlaloc? So considering she’s a city… does that make you an architect 🤔

Waow....I'd like to thank my mother, and the academy,
#ask#anon#i do not think my mother would appreciate this considering she works using autocad like every day

I visited my father at his workplace and he walked me through his workflow
He works as a surveyor.
They record points with lots of metadata and a naming convention they devised
He imports the points into autocad
But also he imports them into the excel sheet
In the excel he filters based on metadata to get only the points he wants
Then the excel generates autolisp expressions:
based on the names it knows which points are parts of the same line
also it is encoded into the name whether they are a polyline or a curve
6. Then he pastes the generated autolisp into the autocad console and boom everything is connected It is a pretty clever scheme. He mentioned that he'd like to open source it.

someone needs to add the ability to add doors to curtain systems in revit I am going insane in the membrane over the brokenness of the curtain system what am I supposed to do?? Just lay down and die??
revit why
whyyyyyyyy
For anyone wondering I just did a door opening and then put a brick wall outside the curtain system so I can add the door and the door opening allows me to have a door that actually leads outside, it doesn’t look bad but why the fuck is it impossible to put doors on curtain systems???
Why should I have to make a whole separate mass or even void mass when we could just allow the fucking doors in curtain systems????
honestly in general the curtain system is just fucked, why is it so broken???
do they not have play testers or something??? I’ve encountered like 50 separate issues and glitches in 2024 and 2025 and you’d think it wouldn’t be so crazy but like every time I livestream it in 2025 it starts flashing and strobing??? Like the fuck how???
I’d complain so so much but the autodesk website is too confusing.
BOOOO
#-pop#Revit#revit bim modeling#fuck autodesk those bitches better add accessibility features or I will riot#archicad wouldn’t do this to me#Literally why the fuck can’t you change the text size auto desk??? RIDDLE MY PISS AUTODESK WHY CANT I CHANGE THE FUCKING TEXT SIZE???#HUH??? PLEASE I WOULD KILL FOR LIKE TINY NOISES THAT TELL ME SOMETHING IS CONNECTED#like please hire a disabled person to design your fucking software#it’s so extremely inaccessible and people pay fuck 11 thousand dollars a year for this shit like come the fuck on???#Begrudgingly I know how to use revit and autocad but like fucking hell autodesk fix your fucking program I can’t have the fucking-#project manager and properties window open at the same time I’m 2025???#LITERALLy WHY IT WORKS IN 2024??

genuinely what the fuck is up with my screen. it is doing the same thing that my other computer did. i cannot think of what the hell does this bc theres another thing that my screen did when there was a video playing (that this computer does as well) where it would like. freak out and i had to restart the computer every time. and now my computer does it as well. i asked someone once w my other computer and they said it was probably a driver thing. but there was nothing wrong w them so i can only think that its a program i have had installed on both computers but i can only think of like. basic programs that shouldnt make my computer do these things
#z xarre#basically my video games. some work programs like autocad. qbittorrent. office suite (libreoffice).#like what can it be??? pirated photoshop? gimp? powershell stuff i messed with???

Thankfully I do also always have the backup plan of moving back home and working for the city as an engineering technician while I get my degree (or just staying as a tech forever the job pays well and I genuinely enjoy the 'menial' side of engineering). Yay for AutoCAD certification my internship and ability to make my superiors think I am oh so smart and hardworking
#The city is pretty much chronically understaffed in certain departments esp for engineering#So when I left the intern coordinator told me hey you can always come back and work here when you graduate if you're not a fulltime student#And I know at least one guy who previously was an intern was doing that while going to community college 👍#Honestly I want to work for local government even with the full degree so I may end up working there after I graduate anyway#I do not mind just drawing specs in autoCAD. It's kinda rote work but fun for me
