BITM Workshop1

Two days’ workshop Planned for B.E 3rd Year Students of Electronics & Communication Engineering under ISTE chapter. Theory Sessions included an explanation of the basic energy conversion processes involved in various renewable energy based system. Participants will be given some examples to estimate energy requirement and develop an application using SPV systems. Practical Sessions includes a demonstration of Solar System implemented in premises of BITM, Experiments on Solar Panels, Change controllers, Batteries & Motors.

WORKSHOP1 30th of September - Me and You

Week 30th of September- 4th of October

As part of the me and you workshop we done charcoal drawings for 30seconds,1 minute, 2 minutes, 5 minutes and 10 minutes with our right hand and then our left hand.

We then done 30 seconds free hand drawing where we didn’t look at the page just the person we were drawing.

This was the result of the 1st workshop using Cinema 4D and After Effects while crossing over with the animation department. We were each given random prompts and a partner to work with. My prompt was ‘spiteful paving’. My partner Joseph had ‘crumpled manacles’, and we decided to instead do a 10 second video combining an abstract concept of the two as opposed to two 5 second videos. This workshop we took full advantage of the cloner tool, deformers, rotation, camera panning and pacing. We then rendered everything we had worked on into a TIFF format, and used after effects to inject the project with the colour scheme and mood that we originally envisioned.

It was both terrifying and amazing.

The first time to get a job, it was in the foreign country, 

I was okay dealing with diversity.

The first time I traveled in the foreign country alone,

a birthday getaway for myself, looking for the soul that has left.

The first time I conquered my fears and fly,

it was my 23rd when I decided I wanna skydive.

The first time to get a job in my homeland,

a year have passed, I was back in the country and eventually found a comfort in my mind full of uncertainty.

First day, fourth semester.

Day 18

Henlo, today has been a good day. I woke up and got up in 9 minutes which is only medium difficulty. I did an awesome dark smokey eye and put a cute casual chic outfit together. Lemme give you some visuals.

The first day of classes was great. I got partnered to work with one of my friends (The Captain, and I asked to be, even though the supervisor said they'll do groups on random). We will be creating around the general theme of "What are the problems created by digital media?" so our focus can be on privacy, misinformation, alienation from "real life", etc. We'll do something ironic, basically subverting expectations by suggesting people should spend MORE time on their phones and other such silly goose things. It'll be great. I am tired but satisfied with how today went. I feel excited to work with Birdman as a supervisor and lecturer again.

Love and I have been discussing relationship stuff as we've both been a little too much in our heads and disconnected from each other. I am really happy we talk about these things and that they keep checking in as I need more reassurance than most. I am still thinking of doing the new Insta page thing. It's time for me to take my makeup off (it'll take a Minute) and get ready for speep. I know it's early, but I think I could wake up earlier tomorrow and see if I can put some work into the Insta page before heading to school.

Workshop1 / Choose a Winner

In this session, we were given a past brief, and discussed why they won.

- Find the narrative: Connect / What is it?

- Execution: Audience / Brand / Pace

- Does it answer the brief?: Responds to the question / Are the connotation positive? / Why did it win?

All of these points are very important for us to participate to D&AD I thought. Therefore, I suppose the session is absolutely helpful for us.

Disillusioned Pathway

Initially, I wanted to have the camera move through a maze but I realized that this was probably not the most feasible idea. Instead, I started looking at what sorts of things make up a pathway and what kinds of things would make that pathway dangerous, or disappointing. At this point I am thinking of a moving path, and some sort of sharp objects that could impale you. I then settled on having the camera jump through several moving objects to create a sense of chaos. The final tragedy comes when the camera falls straight into Jagged moving objects pointed straight up toward you, the viewer. From there the animation flashes to a bright white light and transitions to my partner’s 5 second animation.
