Have a very funny idea I got out of nowhere:
Worldless what-if where the Duo gets thrown into Modern Day earth and accidentally becomes cryptids-
Cue a few people, camping deeeep in a cold forest..
Taking about the horror of the supposed black slender humanoid figure that has claws and a scarf, who supposedly hunts down people~
But then they hear- rustling
"OH NO- RUN IT'S THE CRYPT- oh it's not doing anything"
"It's chirping at us in curiousity, well guess it's harmless"
"Aww I didn't think you were harmless, we heard there was another humanoid feminine white silhouette"
Aven tilts his head in curiousity
"Oh no the myth wasn't that she hunted people, the myth is that taking some of her hair and making it into a trinket will bless children with good luck"
*Edda spawns, clearly offended that her myth wasn't as terrifying as Aven's, she decides to do something about it...
"OH FU⚡️🪓"

Starfolk Lore!
(I'm stealing this term, if you don't mind >:D)
Anyways, Worldless lore! Because lore is my favorite part of every game.
From what we know, there are two main natures -- blue and orange -- that are constantly at war with each other. Once one wins over the other, the victor absorbs the loser, taking their energy and shifting both of their forms. They then swap natures, and the victor goes on their way while the loser bums around, probably out of exhaustion or smth. Blue starfolk tend to have either lightning or ice natures, while orange starfolk favor wind and fire (because colors~)
However, rarely, the absorption results in a sort of merge where the combatants fuse to become a single green starfolk. This is where Adaptation, Duality, and Yin-Yang come from, and you can see it happen in the Eastern area of the map. If I remember correctly, it's a crescent and ariman(?) that forms Quimera.
These merged starfolk gain an incredible amount of power, as the most powerful enemies in the game (*cough* Summum *cough*) and can be assumed to be a sort of ascendance, as they no longer obey either of their original natures. Also, from the character designs, it appears that the more green a starfolk has, the more powerful and "near-perfect" they are, hence the extreme difficulty of Summum's fight. The sole exception to this appears to be Edda and Aven.
While yes, Duality has two individual, fully-functioning parts that each have at least some independent thought, Edda and Aven are two completely separate beings. They are physically separated, even though you never see them next to each other unless it's in cutscenes or in special moves, unlike Duality who clearly merges to perform their giant star attacks. Part of that is logicked away to the functionality of gameplay controls, but still. There is no evidence of their merge until they touch, in which green light covers the screen, or the giant sword from Unified Division appears. We are clearly told that whatever they have going on is special in a way that has caught the eye of what is closest to a god in their universe (which is a whole other can of worms that I'll write about later). Either way, they're much stronger than the traditional green starfolk, as seen by the fact that people can beat Summum in 4 minutes *Gestures at speedrun video*.
Now, I also want to touch on whatever the heck is up with Edda and Aven's absorption. We can see in the background -- within 3 minutes of starting the game -- that whenever a starfolk is absorbed, they swap natures and are distorted beyond recognition. However, whenever Edda (and later Aven) does the same, they remain perfectly untouched while the enemy is completely obliterated. I, personally, think this is an ability granted to them following Aved's failed absorption of Edda at the start, where the two are something like a "ever-strengthening" or "consuming" being like how Adaptation is the "ever-changing" and Yin-Yang is the "stable yet unstable" being. Their initial merge is also probably why their own kinds attack them, which took me embarrassingly long to realize.
That's all I can really think of at the moment, but I might write more later.
Please let me know if I messed up or need to add stuff! I'm writing this all from memory!

Joy, Polarity Be Upon Ye
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, here's Polarity separating into the duo, a few changes has been made to their body after their fusion, as you can see⬇️
More info below!
Tumblr media
Headcanons about Polarity:
Polarity's memories are blurry and staticky. If they do recall something, neither half are sure which memories belonged to whom.
Neither of them remembers exactly who they were, or if they even have names before their fusion. They chose "Polarity" as their name simply because it just sounds right to them.
Since they did not remember their own individual names, they both instead gave each other nicknames like "Light" and "Dark" (very simple and creative I know).
Their default form is their fusion form. They can briefly separate from each other, though they both need their counterpart since their own individual energies have became really unstable and somehow depletes very quickly. (Neither of them not know if they could die from this. Neither of them want to find out.) They've quite literally became each other's halves.
They can internally communicate to each other in a form of thoughts and feelings. When this happens, sometimes Polarity might freeze and zone out, or their body goes into autopilot mode, depending on how long and deep their conversations are.
In the case that they are separated, they can telepathically communicate to each other, though distance plays a big role on how clear their half's thoughts and feelings are.
'Light' uses They/She. 'Dark' uses They/He. As Polarity, they only use They/Them.
Polarity has all elemental magic powers (lightning, wind, ice, fire) and all weapons (sword and shield, bow, axe, claws, whip, seal). You can see how deadly their combos are gonna be due to the variety.

The Angel
The Angel is an anomaly even to one such as myself. Her existence is a curiosity, to say the very least. Unlike other starfolk, she is significantly stronger, faster, and employs more tactics than her brutish fellows. She has an ability to comprehend and speak the language of not just the starfolk, but also the language of the neutrals, something not usually seen among such creatures. So far, she has not shown any sign of comprehending Their language.
She also displays a degree of command over blue polarity starfolk. They answer her beck and call, doing exactly as she commands. However, I have noticed one who does not answer to her... I can tell They have turned their eyes towards her.
Further research is being conducted.

Okay guys so I think I might have learn the funniest thing about the Duo
Basically, on Noname's website (NOT the offical Worldless website), you can ask questions and stuff and uh
I asked them a few questions, one of them being how tall the Protagonists (Edda and Aven) are. And uh.
They converted the in-game measurements to metric and apparently they're roughly 1.5 M tall... which means they're 4 FEET AND 11 INCHES TALL-
I'M DYING. THEY'RE ONLY TWO INCHES TALLER THAN ME AND NOW I AM SCREECHING AT THIS
Tbh, I can ignore that information and still hc them to be 6'10 (Aven) and 7'10 (Edda)... but man, is this so funny for no reason at all.

Also imagine:
Worldless AU where Edda gets turned into a similar starfolk to Angel because why not?
AKA AU based on that one response you made for the "Edda with wings" ask
This'll be either the result of Edda absorbing Angel (like she did with the ice starfolk) or she'll get it some other way and have a cool duel with Angel from one winged starfolk to another
And given Edda's chaotic nature of using absolutely everything- including her shield- as a weapon
Thus, the only sane conclusion is that she weaponises her wings too, to knock enemies into the air for instance
Hell, she'd probably turn herself into a SPINNING BEYBLADE OF DEATH just to smack her enemies with wings. Of course assuming that her wings = more mobility = more chaotic motion.
Also I wonder if her wing feathers are alll tinyy little blades...

I have fallen head-first into Worldless brainrot, and I just wanted to share something I noticed:
If you look at the charge attacks for most enemies, they match up with the color of their natures (Blue to blue, and orange to orange). But for Edda and Aven, their colors are swapped -- Edda's charged bow & sword glow orange and Aved's fist & whip glow blue.

I just noticed something,
Aven was at first a wind element Dark starfolk in the beginning, then at some point he picked up fire magic similar to how Edda picked up ice magic later on
Also, Edda is weak to wind, and Aven is weak to lightning, both are basically weak to the other's base magic elements...
That's it, just a small observation

Wait... for the ADOFAI × Worldless crossover, imagine if the duo mistakes Overseer for an enemy and tries to attack them-
Also imagine the duo meeting the planets (hehe stars meeting planets! We have a binary star system with planets /jk) ... and maybe Sef and Charlie too-
Tumblr media
Who's dawg is that
(Aven's gonna [try to] kill Overseer the second he gets the chance)
