3am conversation!

"Has anyone seen Demps?"

Aggie had asked the question offhandedly, but Tim could take a hint. It wasn't like he hadn't noticed Demps' absence; he just wasn't sure if his presence would be wanted.

But Aggie had looked at him with those all-knowing brown eyes, and Tim had sighed and rose from the table, saying, "I'll go look for him," while the rest of the guys cheered and made drunken remarks. Aggie had thumped him on the arm as he shuffled past, and Tim resigned himself to dealing with whatever happened next.

The small town in the middle of bum-fuck nowhere was practically dead this early in the morning. The only sign of life came from the bar and the light spilling onto the dusty roadways. There were drunks hanging out in the alleys, either vomiting or lying in it, and Tim only gave them a cursory glance before moving on.

If only Manion hadn't taken pity on them and allowed them to stay an extra night. They'd all be asleep on a train by now, and maybe Demps wouldn't've disappeared.

Tim shuddered, and promptly pushed the thought out of his mind. Demps wouldn't do that, he thought, firmly. Demps wouldn't be like all the others who've up and gone, never to be heard from again--Demps wasn't like that.

So he walked through town, eyes scanning from side to side, worry gnawing at his insides. Eventually, he reached the end of town and with only the dock left to check. As he bounded up the stairs, he caught sight of an all-too-familiar figure sitting on the pier, and his shoulders slumped. Of course.

Shoving his hands into his pockets, he walked down the pier, stepping on loose boards and walking heavily. Demps' back straightened, head tilting back, before he slumped forward again, forearms resting on his thighs.

Did something happen? Sure, the game hadn't gone the way anyone wanted, but that happened. Try as they might, they can't win them all, and Demps had given it his all. It wasn't his fault the calls didn't go their way.

"Hey," Tim said as he dropped down next to Demps, dangling his legs over the end of the pier. "Everyone's looking for ya."

Demps hummed, low in his throat. "Are they?"

"Of course." Tim paused. "Donnie wants to drink you under the table."

"He should ask Lars."

"Where's the fun in that?"

Demps didn't laugh, just turned his blue eyes out onto the dark, still water, and that made Tim worry. He'd seen that look in plenty of guys' eyes before they went and did something stupid. Demps was not immune to 3AM idiocy.

"Do you ever wish that you were doing something else?"

The question took Tim by surprise, and he couldn't keep it from showing on his face. Demps wasn't looking at him, his fingers curled over the board.

Did he? Tim hadn't really thought about it, not really. The money they made was good, and he was doing what he loved. Hell, if it wasn't for this team, he wouldn't be able to be himself, and he wouldn't have Demps.

"No," he eventually said, "Not really. I like what we do. I like being here." With you.

Demps rubbed at his eyes, and Tim's stomach flipped. Suddenly, he felt that this conversation wasn't going to end very nicely, and he may be walking back to his room after this, devastated by the upcoming blow. "...Do you?" Tim asked, glad his voice didn't tremble.

"I don't know," Demps admitted. "Sometimes, I think I do. Want something different, I mean."

Shoving his hands between his thighs, Tim worried his bottom lip between his teeth. Suddenly, he felt cold all over, fingers tingling with numbness. "Like what?"

Demps shrugged. "I don't know. I used to live on a farm. Sometimes, I think I miss that. The simplicity of it, the routine. Having a home."

That, too, struck like a hot iron into Tim's gut. Maybe it was just Tim that felt wherever Demps was became home; maybe Demps was just using him to pass the time. Tim had never been close to his mother or father, his father's only contribution to his life being baseball. Demps, clearly, had a different experience.

"I don't think I'd ever want that."

Demps looked at him sharply. "Never?" At the shake of Tim's head, Demps asked, "...Even with me?"

Tim blinked, lips slightly parted. Demps was looking at him earnestly, now, and that anxiety had given way to discomfort. He hated being put on the spot to give answers--he liked thinking about his choices, the good and the bad. He worried about what it would be like for them--would they have to get married to women eventually? Move? Tim didn't have any skills that didn't involve throwing a ball around, so how much good would he do? Would he just be a hindrance?

Evidently, he took too long to respond, because Demps sighed. "Sorry, I know it's stupid to ask."

"I just--" Tim cleared his throat. "I don't know, Demps. That's a lot to think about--a lot of unforeseen consequences."

"Screw the consequences," Demps said, sharply. "Don't think about them. Just give me a straight, honest answer. If, hypothetically, everything would be fine, we would be fine... would you?"

That was all too easy to answer. "Yeah," Tim said, resting a hand on Demps' knee. "I would."

Demps covered Tim's hand with his own, and said nothing. Some of the tension had leaked around his eyes, and Demps listed towards him. With a small sigh, Tim tucked himself against Demps' side, the latter's cheek resting against the top of his head.

He would go anywhere with Demps, and he thought the catcher knew that. He would die to be with him, to stay with him. He'd even sell his soul to keep them together.

Maybe, someday, Demps would realize that.

Post 11: Google - Trends/Pricing

There are a few interesting trends concerning Google in 2017. A big one is the fact that Google has replaces Apple as the world’s number one brand. Apple has been the world’s number one brand every year since 2011. However, in 2016 Apple lost monetary value by over 20 percent, while Google gained monetary value by over 20 percent. Other major trends for Google include ad revenue. Facebook now has over a billion users world-wide. This means that Facebook Ads are a viable option for online marketers. Also, some business professionals in technology speculate that Amazon could become a major competitor for Google in the future due to its growth and technical know-how.

Google Adsense prices for online ads are more expensive than Facebook Ads. The cost-per-click for Google AdSense is about $2.32 on average. The cost-per-click for Facebook Ads is $1.72 on average. Fortunately, Google has a larger market share for online advertising. Also the price for online ads is elastic, and the market has oligopolistic competition. Facebook hasn’t improved its marketing platform for businesses for there to be a substitution effect. Google’s platform is still more “marketer friendly,” and Google has many more complementary products for businesses such as Google Analytics.

Super easy, like, she's already laughing level of easy! You haven't said anything. It's like resting bitch face except she has resting smiling face and honestly if she feels even a little bit happy it's not unusual to see her smile or laugh.

[Arjun] ★ 28. Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth? 

It's funny you ask that because he's the liar of the group. No malicious lies but he finds it easier to go with that rather than honesty. If he doesn't know a person especially, he will just lie if it pleases them. People pleaser detected. If it's a closer one he's more likely to tell them his honest opinion about things that might hurt them if he doesn't.

[Ceto] ★ 37. Do they have a system for remembering names, long lists of numbers, or things that need to go in a certain order (like anagrams, putting things to melodies, etc)? 

Hmmm, I've never thought of that. He strikes me as a very visual memory type of fella, like he'll look at something for a bit, repeat it to himself and he'll remember it until it's useless information. You know when you memorize exactly where a sentence starts and finishes in a book, and once you change the book you get confused? Something like that. Fun fact though, if it's a person important to have striked, he names his snakes after them to never forget them.

[Krys] ★ 14. What animal do they fear most?

Pigeons, I've just decided. Even worse if it's a full-on flock of them. Keep them away from him. Thankfully if it's one or two he'll just eye them suspiciously and there aren't that many around the city. Rather than fear he'd like to have nothing to do with them.

[Sorrel] ★ 18. What embarrasses them?

AGAIN, FUNNY YOU ASK THAT, because he's usually the one to roast the people and make fun of them. If Krys makes sure he won't get hit first, this man will not care, if you're doing something cringe he'll call you out on it. Which is why he does get embarrassed if he catches himself doing something "awfully nice", don't you worry though, if you try to call him out on it he'll retaliate immediately, I don't know where he stores all his comebacks.

★C. Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?

I'll just answer for the ones you asked about.

Rim's the mc so she was pretty much the one driving the plot. Ceto was made to be her "guide" character and then along the way I took out some elements out of him to make Arjun, so OG Ceto is a bit different personality-wise. Those 3 with Louise are the main four.

KRYS AND SORREL THOUGH, obviously any young one I make will just be a student at the university setting I have, but getting them to be relevant story-wise took a bit of doodling, thinking joking around with @ri-cakes before taking those jokes seriously. So even if these two aren't directly plot-related, they're gonna be helpful in including them with subtle details.
