I TOLD YOU THE ALIENS ATTACKED. From March 2022, saved as "yeah." You can tell how done I was. Determined to draw and finish something, but alas... I do like this a lot more than the previous piece, I might finish it. But it has been over 2 years, so take it. (She has no shoes because her stilettos are too hard to run in. Maybe she should keep them? That's be badass.)

Because I love the drama, the premise of their relations were with no strings attached... but then someone gets attached, the other gets mad for breaking their promise... and then someone gets hurt... and the other comes to accept that they have also fallen in love, too. How romantic! I hope no one gets kidnapped and put in stasis for 20 years by the enemy and the world falls into chaos!

Yeah I’m playing Xcom again, because of course I am

Did the Newfoundland mission, still one of my favorites but I just thought about the implications of… everything? The chrysalid whale, the bombing, everything surrounding the mission really. The chrysalid whale is terrifying, how the hell did they do that? How did they know? I guess it’s a bit more simply considering chrysalids have some sort of weird. Implanting. Thing. But I don’t understand how that would work either.

But looking past something that probably has a bit more of a simplistic explanation, what were the ethereals thinking with this one? It wasn’t terror, the village was cut off and there was near radio silence from what it sounded like. Another probably simple answer, the ethereals probably wanted an on planet breeding ground, especially in a remote location. How they nailed it with the whale or even thought to put em in there is less my concern at this point. Can you imagine if Xcom never intercepted it though? What would that do to… everything? As far as all the wildlife are concerned chrysalids are probably an apex predator. But then there’s the rest of Newfoundland, by extension Canada. Who the fuck could stop the absolute chrysalid horde? If that whale was allowed to fester for any longer we probably would have had to nuke all of Newfoundland. The civilian casualties would be immense. It’d be an insane turning point for the war.

I want to live in alternate timeline where that’s the set up for Xcom 2, chrysalids killed all of North America and the ethereals were the only real option humanity had to rebuild. That’d be neat, I think.

I find the story of xcom 1 pretty funny sometimes, like imagine it from the perspective of the ethereal in the overseer ufo.

You’re one of the most powerful beings in the galaxy, known for their psionic strength and technology, and you’ve been given the honor of personally overseeing the invasion of a primitive planet, you send scouts from the lesser races expecting their plasma guns to overwhelm the local military, but they get killed and now they have more powerful weapons, so you make the decision to send more powerful soldiers with better weapons, and then they die and now they have power armor and weapons that can compete with your own, then they take out your planet-side base but you now know where their base is and send down a sizable strike force which succeeds in canon but in gameplay it fails. Soon after they discover your ship despite being invisible to all of their current detection systems and soon after they send in a squad to kill you and your body guards. A single human comes through the door and fires at you, you block and reflect their attack. Then this walking tank runs towards you and fricking bulldozes you into the afterlife

noticed two things while cleaning Annette up and gluing her to a base, one, I’m gonna have to print another one of her at some point, or just pay for someone else to, I think mistakes were made clipping supports and maybe I didn’t have her at the best angle (the front’s fine and I can probably do some light kitbashing if the flaws really bug me)

It was an experimental coloring, using photoshop and a Kamvus tablet. It isn’t awful, but it doesn’t really look like something I made. But I have yet to remake it, so here… look at it.

Every teen show has that school dance plotline, right? A novel idea that crossed my mind many, many years ago that I managed to adopt into XCOM no less. There is pressure to get more funding, so the Commander and Bradford attend the Meridian Ball in D.C., a prestigious event filled to the brim with Congress, Cabinet members, and Diplomats. Something that Diane grew up with, but Bradford, I imagine, is a lot more blue-collar and in over his head to rub elbows with such rich elite. But Diane would do anything to keep her operations running, and not above schmoozing to keep countries supporting the XCOM Project. Sure, the rest of the operation would speculate and tease about the top brass getting dressed up for an elaborate dinner date… but there’s nothing to hide if they aren’t romantically involved, right? Just dedicated coworkers only…. Right???

AND THEN THE ALIENS ATTACK!!!

If only I was good at making a comic or fanfic with the shenanigans I put my OCs through… 💀
