WIP Week — because the days all blend together anyway, don’t they? ✨

i was tagged by @howlinchickhowl, @metalheadmickey, @mishervellous, and @takeyourpillsbitchh to share a snippet from my current WIP — so here’s an excerpt from chapter 6 of YQHBR!

Six o’clock in the morning is a time for sleeping. Not brisk jogs, or burnt coffee, or annoying phone calls.

When Mickey’s cell rang at 6:03am, it was all he could manage not to chuck the device against the wall again.

“Hello?” he answered, still half asleep.

“You have a collect call from Cook County Correctional Facility, do you accept the charges?”

And just like that, the warm, happy bubble Mickey had existed in for the past two weeks was destroyed.
