𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚/𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫/𝐘𝐚𝐛𝐚 - 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 - 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬: 𝟏𝟐𝟑𝟖
𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: You met two interesting men during the Jack of Hearts game and, since then, you three decided to stay together and to become more closer.
It wasn’t difficult to remember who had the idea to partecipate to another game a bit after the Jack of Hearts. You started to insist, like a spoiled child, that you wanted to have a little bit of fun - like if what happened to Matsushita wasn’t enough. Your complaints weren’t a problem though; Banda found you particulary adorable and pathetic, begging him to the point of tugging at his shirt sleeve. He would have lied if he didn’t want to see you crying to catch his attentions. On the other hand, Yaba was colder and difficult to convince too. You started to walk around him and repeat little “please” all over, but you cute sweet eyes didn’t help either. He simply looked at you and said “you have to wait” – and your reaction was simply puffing away with an angry look, which made him smile a little bit. How cute you were. The way you three paired up was really peculiar. The first rounds you simply looked at them, but too shy to interact and too insecure about the thought of them helping you. They were already paired up and, for this reason, you knew it was already a lost cause. Even if, at the end, you were wrong.
The first one who spoke to you was Banda. You were trying to reach a packet of cookies, but they were too high for you. Standing on your tiptoes was a failure – but lucky you, a hand grabbed those delicious cookies just to give them to you. When you turned around to face the kind stranger, you felt your entire body freezing up. Banda was looking down at you with his usual little smile, with his eyes devouring you and every your movements. He didn’t think twice to lean down and to whisper something into your ear.
“You shouldn’t play game like this all alone.”
You could swear that his lips touched your neck, your body from freezing melted entirely.
“You’re right…”
“But?” His face was close to yours, both your and his breath were becoming one thing. You tried with all your strenght to mantain the eye contact but you couldn’t. A part of you wanted to keep looking at his dark eyes, to expose yourself and reveal all your weaknesses – but it was too soon; you didn’t mind feeling vulnerable, but it was different in this case. Banda was enjoying himself to make you feel like your head was about to blow up because of the confusion. Oh, how much he wanted to mind-fuck even worse.
“You were already paired up, so…” for a moment you felt a knot in your throat, almost if you shouldn’t have continued the conversation, “I…I found another person to pair up with.” He simply smiled at you and left you alone with your cookies. Only before stepping out of the door, he turned around to look at you and say, “I’ll help you.” You didn’t know what to feel in that moment, it was everything so strange – you didn’t want to lie to yourself about the fact that you were happy, somehow. You had the help of one of the two person you were interested in. Of course, it was too early to trust Banda, but you had nothing to lose. The burning sensation in your belly started to grow at the thought of being submitted to Banda. You shaked your head as if you wanted to remove those thoughts; you felt dirty for it.
The game kept going and so the people who died. During all these rounds you also found yourself helping, and being helped, by a blonde guy with a hoodie. In a way you felt “safe” to play, even if nobody knew who the Jack of Heart was. You had few ideas, but you preferred to not speak about those for…some reasons. It was almost at the end of the day that Yaba decided to interact with you. You were alone, leaning against a wall, swimming in your head of thoughts.
“You are more interesting than her.” When you looked up to see who spoke to you, you were surprised. The freezing sensation coming back to your body, almost missing it. Yaba was next to you, leaning against the wall and with his hands in his pocket. He was alone too. At the first, you didn’t recall who he referred when he said “than her”.
“What do you mean?”
He kept looking at you with cold eyes, until his sight were on board that showed who was still alive. Finally you understood what he meant. Strange that he didn’t have the silent and shy woman following him – they were completely inseparable.
“What I said, you are more intersting than her.” It seemed like he didn’t care if the woman could come back and listen what he was about to say, “I also think she’s hiding something from me.”
You were shocked at the statement. Was it possible that she was the Jack of Hearts? But it was impossible considering that she was all the time with Yaba.
“I can help you with your suit,” you didn’t think twice to help him, “just to make sure she isn’t lying to you.”
He smiled at you, like if you just said what he wanted to hear, “not only interesting but sweet too.”
The burning sensation was also coming back to your body. You didn’t know what was happening to you and to your body, but you couldn’t control its strength. After telling him his suit, and Yaba doing the same for you, he left you to reach the other woman – the one he discovered that at the end lied to him. She tried to act the same, all sweet and submissive, but Yaba went colder and her eyes started to panic. She looked at you, like if she knew you both talked in her assence. You broke that contact just to find Banda intensely staring at you. You didn’t know what to expect at the end of that game – you were only hoping that they didn’t think you were the mastermind of all of it.
The cold of the cell made your body feeling stiff. You didn’t felt scared of telling your suit, but you were simply getting tired of it. Not even taking in consideration that what happened between Banda and Yaba made things even more complex (but interesting). “Heart.” You said, hoping that the end was finally coming over. There was only silence, until it was broken by the sound of a collar exploding. You were about to open the door and see who it was, but the laughing of Matsushita stopped you. You decided to see what was happening, only to see Enji getting surrounded by Yaba and Banda. So it was him the Jack of Hearts. You didn’t want to see him getting killed by the two of them, his screamings were enough for you to bear. For some reasons, though, you decided to wait in your cell. Only after a while the two men approached your cell, looking in for you.
“Come with us.” Yaba said only to proceed to walk in the direction of the exit of the prison. Banda grabbed your hand, gently, and walked with you outside where Yaba was waiting for you both.
It was since then that the “trio” was always together, even in the most intimate moments.

For anyone curious
Yaba and Banda are most likely referencing the Jabberwock and Bandersnatch.
Yaba. Jabber.
Banda. Bander.
You're not funny Aso Haro.

Netflix butchered both Matsushita and that one woman.
He was a hypnotherapist. He hypnotized her. She didn’t know. She couldn’t have known any better. They were fucking no reason for her to betray Yaba.
The "oh they communicate with cookies" is bullshit.
He was defeated because he thought of himself so good he didn’t realize he’s gotten played.
Also Chishiya wasn’t even supposed to be here lol.

Atypical friendships: Yaba-Mira
Notes:  I’m perfectly aware they didn’t interact a single time in canon and personally I think that’s a crime so I’m here to fix that. I’m tagging @mira-hearts-queen and @mister-sane as Mira and Yaba so they can tell me how many I got right!
If you want to see the other parts of ‘atypical friendships’, look under this tag in my blog.
First, a little context on how they met:
-Mira had already heard about him from the dealers, about a man always dressed in a suit who managed to solve every hearts game with ease
-She was intrigued and designed one for him. True to his reputation, he cleared it without getting a single blood stain on his shirt.
-Needless to say, Mira was impressed.
-What caught her eye the most was how despite hearts being clearly his strongest suit, he lacked the affinity for bloodlust she’s seen in other players. Games built around deceit tend to attract people who thrive on betraying and stepping on others to come out on top, but not him. It’s not like he avoids lying and manipulation tactics though, he just does it when he deems it a necessity.
-Her first thought was ‘I bet I could break him,’ so she decides to approach him to recruit him for the Beach. She wants to see how he’d fare in the ten of hearts she’s planning with Kuzuryuu.
-However, she makes a mistake. She uses her tactic of appearing gullible and charmed by this tall, handsome man and of course, Yaba is a shark and smells blood in the water. He quickly realises there's more to Mira than meets the eye, and since they're not in a game and he doesn't benefit from lying to her, he tells her.
-Again, Mira is impressed.
-Thus begins a series of chance meetings after games. Some of these are coincidences, most of them are not.
Now, onto the head canons!
Tumblr media
-Yaba ends up showing Mira where he lives (the place is absolutely SPOTLESS) and they spend entire nights talking. It starts off with just game talk, considering different strategies they could've followed or bringing up other games they've been in. They bond over an appreciation of the borderlands’ beauty and an interest in human nature without it being sadistic.
-Then they start speaking about their own lives before the borderlands. Mira's eyes light up when Yaba tells her he's an institutional investor, and asks him if she knows what the Keynesian Beauty Contest is. When he tells her he does, she lets out a giggle but refuses to elaborate further.
-Yaba is really interested in Mira's job as a psychiatrist. He's spent hours (literal hours) listening to some of her anecdotes with patients.
-Both Yaba and Mira drink tea, but Mira prefers fruity tea and Yaba likes darjeeling, so Mira ends up leaving some of her own tea at Yaba's place. She also gifts him a teaset, which not coincidentally, is the same one she'll use in the Queen of Hearts.
-Mira has tried to convince Yaba to sneak into the Beach so he can see what it's like, but he doesn't see the point, so he's never attempted it. Mira tried riling him up by claiming there's a better hearts player there than he is, called Chishiya. It didn't work (and when Yaba actually met Chishiya he had to stifle a scoff because he realised Mira was just messing with him, as Chishiya seems a diamonds player through and through. Better than him? Absolutely not).
-Mira likes giving him small gifts every now and then. One of them is a copy of the DSM-V with hearts drawn on the margins of every single page. The DSM-V has 947 pages. She was really committed to her hearts.
-Another gift she gives him is a Walkman, after he mentions he missed listening to music. He asks where she got it from and she just says ‘I stole it, but don’t worry about it.’ As she says this, back at the Beach a white-haired executive is planning revenge on Niragi for a crime he didn’t commit.
- They've made it a tradition that after spades games, they have to play a game themselves at Yaba's place in which they make up the rules, to push themselves beyond physical tiredness. So they might be playing chess and suddenly Mira says 'if we move our rooks we immediately lose'. Then Yaba adds 'knights can now only occupy black squares'. And keep on adding rules until one of them messes up.
-Yaba has three hairbrushes he’s used to brush Mira’s hair after a game. The repetitive action feels relaxing for the both of them, and it’s the only physical contact they have.
-Whenever Yaba says he wants to rule the borderlands, Mira says he'd make a fine Queen of Hearts. Yaba would reply that if anything, he'd be the King of Hearts, and Mira would laugh and say 'that's not the compliment you think it is. Trust me, the Queen of Hearts is much better'. Eventually, Yaba stopped saying he'd be the King of Hearts and now instead says Queen.
-Yaba does push ups first thing in the morning to wake his body up. Even if Mira's still there, he will do his push ups, there's no two ways about it, she'll have to wait to talk to him. One time Mira got so annoyed by him ignoring her that she sat on Yaba's back to provoke him, and he simply kept on doing push ups without acknowledging her. For anyone wondering, he did a total of eleven with her on his back.
-They favour style over practicality. While others ask Mira why on Earth she would attempt a game in heels, Yaba makes a comment on how tasteful her Loubutin are. If Yaba almost doesn’t make it to a game because there was a wrinkle in his shirt he couldn’t get rid of, Mira understands it was a risk he had to take.
- The night the Beach burned down, Yaba saw it in the distance but didn't feel worried in the slightest about Mira. In fact, he thought she might be the reason behind the fire (and was completely right about it).
- He wasn't surprised either when she announced the beginning of the second stage of the games with her as the Queen of Hearts. He simply thought that if someone were to be the Queen of Hearts other than himself, it'd be her. He felt a mixture of pride and tenderness when he saw every game get cleared one by one until the only one remaining was hers. Of course she'd be the last one standing. Mira Kano was a force to be reckoned with.
- Once the games had ended and he accepted citizenship, the Joker gave him a small book Mira had left behind for him, titled 'Manual of Survival: Citizenship in the Borderlands'. When he opens it, curious, he realises it's a very detailed guide as to which one of her dresses to wear for each occasion. There's hearts drawn in the margins of every page, a ten-page epilogue on why fruity tea is the superior choice to darjeeling, and a note at the end which says 'you're going to be an amazing Queen of Hearts, darling. Have fun ❤️.'

𝐘𝐚𝐛𝐚/𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫/𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 - 𝐑𝐮𝐧, 𝐑𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐢𝐭, 𝐑𝐮𝐧 - 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬: 𝟏𝟐𝟓𝟒
𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: Finally Yaba and Banda decided to play another game with you, with the little detail of making you flustered during the entire game. 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: Suggestive themes.
You didn’t even remember what was the purpose of the game, you were too happy to partecipate with Banda and Yaba. Finally. After insisting so much they finally took you to play again. The place where this game was settled was what looked like an asylum. It was very big and easily to get lost; perfect for a game like hide-and-seek. You could only remember the little smiles on their faces when they heard that the game was based on protecting you from the other players. How? The rules were unclear and vague about it, which it had as a consequences to make the two men even more interested to play it. You didn’t have the time and the will to count each player, but you were sure there were about twenty or more of them. The way they looked at you made your blood circulating faster in your body; you felt the same adrenaline you felt during the Jack of Hearts. They knew you were something they had to eliminate if they wanted to survive. You had to be careful too. Banda noticed your wave of thoughts and your worried expression, so adorable and so scared. How much he desidered to be the one who provoked these type of feelings in you. He already thought about to make you play his games when this one was done – you couldn’t say no to him after you convinced him to play with you. You had to return the favor somehow. He brushed your hand, making you smile at him and feel safer and better. Yaba didn’t say anything, but only stood in front of you like a shield. He didn’t have to tell you anything about a way to return the favor. He already knew that, at the end of the game, you would have begged him to thank him. Just the way he liked it – he couldn’t deny the fact that your worried little face made him feeling powerful. Like if he was your only savior. “We’ll get to you.” Yaba said. You didn’t have the time to ask what he meant when the voice announced the start of the game. You simply looked at them, only to find Banda to say to you in a very serious tone “run”. You didn’t think twice to turn around and start running as fast as you could. Sadly, you couldn’t see what Yaba and Banda decided to do, but you only imagined what those minds thought. Sunato pulled out from his pockets the scapel, touching it barely, and then looked at Yaba who was taking off his jacket. “Shall we?”
You were hiding in a corner, occasionally looking at the dark corridor. You started to feel the cold on your skin, making you shiver. Everytime you could hear someone screaming, you were glad it wasn’t Yaba or Banda. You know it was impossible to be killed by a random person – they were smarter than that. But the fact they weren’t with you made you feel so vulnerable, like the beginning of the Jack of Hearts game. Your body stopped working when you felt a hand grabbing gently your neck. You thought it was officially the ending, that you being distracted would have made you learn something new; you wanted to wriggle, scream, but it was useless. It was useless when you recognized the hand and the voice who was speaking to you. “How many times I have to tell you to be more careful, y/n?” He whispered against your ear, with his hand not letting go of your throat. For a moment you felt a moan escaping your mouth. You didn’t care about the fact that he had blood on his shirt, you could only see how beautiful he was. He had the same little smile he had when he was enjoying himself. In your mind you wanted to start beg him to take you in that right moment – but you couldn’t. At least not yet. One of his hand went to grab your waist, squeezing it tighly. Tight enough to make you to bite your lower lip to resist to the urge of moaning against him. His face got closer to yours, to the point of your lips almost brushing together. “Go find a better place to hide.” He let go of you, simply waiting for you to go and find another spot to hide yourself. You sighed and started to walk again in the dark, already regretting the choice of playing this damn game. The hot-boiling sensation was leaving your body, only to leave you with the promise of getting both of them with you at the end of this. On the other hand, even if Banda was sad of letting you go, he was enjoying himself with all these innocent victims. The blood on his clothes made him remember the time he killed those women. Oh, the terror in their faces was so…thrilling. But did you know what would have been more thrilling? Fucking you in the corner with the same scared expression you had when you thought you were about to die. How much he wanted to make you scream to the point your voice would have become an echo in the entire asylum. But there was time for that.
You were about to open the door of a random room, this time being more careful of your surroundings. You didn’t want to get Banda angry again. You didn’t know how that man could you punish you, you didn’t want to test him. “Where do you think you’re going?” You turned around only to see Yaba with a very serious expression on his face. He wasn’t wearing his usual jacket and you could see his muscles tensed up from his white shirt. It was getting hot all of suddently. You didn’t want to make him disappointed or angry too, so you simply ran toward him and put your arms around his neck. “I’m so tired,” you tired to justify yourself and your reckless behavior trying to play the innocent role, “I dont know where to hide!” Yaba stared into your eyes, smiling a little bit, but not convinced by your excuses, “just because you’re tired it doesn’t mean you have to act like this, y/n.” You looked at his with sad eyes and to “make you happy” Yaba squeezed your waist with both of his strong arms, you were melting into that hold. “Have a little bit of patience.” He said but you were too spoiled to simply accept that sentence as a way to calm down. Before Banda, now Yaba. You couldn’t resist anymore. You put yourself on your tiptoes, trying to reach the same height and to get your face closer to his. Yaba already knew what you wanted to do and, for some moments, he didn’t want to make you win so easily – the idea of making you more unfulfilled was even better. “Wait until we finish this game.” This time his hands were squeezing harder and you couldn’t stop biting, again, your lower lip. “But please…” You said with a very low tone. Yaba’s lips went to your neck, leaving a slow kiss and a little mark; maybe in this way you could have waited more – but in reality you both know it left you with a more urgent desire. “Now go.” You sighed again, the only thing you could go was waiting until the game was over – but, lucky you, it was already coming to an ending.

I love when people try to find the Alice in Wonderland connections to the character's stories.
You're giving Aso Haro too much credit he's literally just gave them punny names c'mon now.
Doudou is literally a dodo bird.
Yaba Oki is the Jabberwocky.
Usagi is the white rabbit.
Hatter is Mad Hatter like it's very obvious when he's referencing alice in wonderland.

did you feel your belly warm when you were alone with Banda, Yaba and Chishiya in the last round? Don't say no because no one is going to believe you
Yes... And I must admit, I was scared, like really scared. I knew they wouldn't believe anything I would have said but I still tried, I didn't want to seem like you know, weak.
