Yan!dad!Steve Rogers is totally the type to put parental control features on whatever he deems inappropriate for the Reader. Even if they’re a whole ass grown adult with a family and a mortgage. If they had a work laptop or something of the sort he’d do the same thing with it too. The IT department wouldn’t even know what to do when the Reader comes to them to fix it.

Yandad!Steve Rogers with a reader obsessed with history.

Like, he's researching all these new, modern terms, films, etc, anything to make conversation and yet none of it seems to work. You're polite, sure, but he can tell you're fully engaging and he can't figure out why. Is he saying something wrong? Maybe this particular thing was a 'flop' and he seems stupid for talking about it? He would ask but he wants to fit in, look like he understands, so he simply keeps trying in hopes one of his 'GenZ' things work.

It wasn't until you were having a movie night (he befriended your parents and basically became your babysitter) and he got to see your watch list did he realise where your main interest lies - history documentaries. From Tudor era, to Vikings, to the World Wars.

He mentions it, asking if you would want to watch one since 'he didn't mind', and he could see how your eyes light up. For once, you were genuinely excited to hang out with him, past the common decencies.

Since then, he makes sure to have a story prepared to tell you every time you meet - whether from his childhood or the war. He also went on rabbit holes of other periods of time, just in case you wanted to talk about that, but you liked his personal stories more (something he was very happy about).

He didn't get to talk about his past much, expect when talking about being America's super solider, so having someone, especially you, care about hearing the rest? Mf is over the moon, probably kicks his feet at night thinking about how well you too get on and compares it to those '"When I was a kid...." speeches dads always do.

How would the superhero yandad/papas react to their kid choosing to be a villain?

Yandad Bruce Wayne/Batman: Not on his watch. He’s not going to allow that. If he has to he’ll lock up his bby before they have the chance to dip their toes into any destruction or chaos.

Yandad Clark Kent/Superman: Clark would be so taken aback at the fact that his bby willingly wants to become a villain. It has to be a joke right? If so it’s not a funny one and he’s not going to let his bby go down a dark path. His bby wouldn’t be allowed to be left unsupervised for any reason. A member of the Superfamily would have to be with them until he deems otherwise. If his bby were to lie and pretend they were over trying to take over the world or whatever then he’s going to have to be a bit rough trying to bring them back home where they would be grounded for the rest of their life.

Yandad Arthur Curry/Aquaman: Nope. No. Not happening. He’s not allowing it. Mera won’t allow it. Arthur will do whatever he has to to keep his bby from becoming what he strives so hard to fight against. If he has to keep them grounded in Atlantis then so be it.

Yandad Steve Rogers/Captain America: He’s not going to let that happen. He’s always been one for allowing his bby to do whatever makes them happy but if villainy is one of those things then it’s not happening. Not on his. Not on anyone’s watch. If it gets too out of hand then he’ll ask Tony if he can keep his bby somewhere they won’t be able to hurt anyone else or themself. He and the rest of the Avengers will help them through this phase in their life and it is a phase. That’s all it is. It’s something that will pass. Hopefully.

Yandad Tony Stark/Iron Man: He’s another one who would think his bby was joking around. He wouldn’t take it too seriously until they actually did something devastating. He’d blame himself for not doing something about it sooner but he’s not going to allow for anyone but himself to lock them up. He won’t put them in an actual prison with other prisoners because he knows that his bby is nothing like them, they just need a little rehabilitation and they’ll be as good as new. Tony will make sure they get the help they need to weed out the bad part of them that they want to fuel.

Yandad Logan Howlett/Wolverine: He would probably think that his bby has been spending too much time with Wade and not take it too seriously. Again, they would have to do something bad before Logan thinks too much about them being serious. When that happens he would hold himself to blame but he would mostly want to get his kid away from anyone else they could hurt or hurt themself. His first call would either be Charles or Jean and he would be willing to do whatever to help his kid. Logan wouldn’t know where to start but he’s willing to trust Charles.

Yandad Charles Xavier/Professor X: He would know what his kid was thinking before they even did anything. Charles would try and talk to them about what they’re thinking and why they’re thinking that. If they’re adamant about doing bad then he wouldn’t have any other choice than to keep his bby somewhere safe, safe from other bad influences and themself. He’s already been through this with Erik he isn’t going to go through it again. Especially not with his bby.

How cuddly is yandad Steve?

Extremely cuddly! This man lives for any form of affection he can get and or give. He especially loves having his bby in his arms. Any excuse he can have just to hold them, Steve will take. Not to mention just how warm and comfy this man is to lay on.

Steve wouldn’t be above drugging his bby just to be able to hold them for awhile. He was against ever taking such extreme measures as drugging but he did once when his bby was sick and being stubborn. He just wanted to help them take care of themself and ever since he’s kept the idea in mind for a rainy day. In his mind it’s a win-win; his bby gets some much needed sleep and he gets to have his bby in his arms for a time.

How would Yandad Steve help his bby if they were constantly cold? I'm usually freezing and was wondering what he would do.

Steve would definitely hold his bby real close to warm them up. This man will warm your hands up, breathing warm air on them and rubbing them together with his bigger and much warmer ones. If you’re still cold then he’ll give you his jacket, his hat, or whatever else of warmth he’s got on him.

I just imagine yandad Steve walking around with Reader in his jacket, like they’re wearing his jacket with him. Or Reader is just a marshmallow made up of piles of clothes waddling around, holding on to Steve’s hand so they don’t get lost. Like, not only did Steve give them his clothes to stay warm but Natasha, Bucky, Sam, ect, all gave some piece of warmth to them too.

Then again, Reader could also end up being smushed in a group hug made up of Steve and the other Avengers, or whoever else, all just to warm them up.

Given how out of touch yandere Steve is with modern society and especially internet, imagining how difficult is it for him trying to catch up modern pop culture, music, gaming and other stuff teenagers and kids is into because he wants to start a conversation with his platonic obsession, and how awkward the whole process can get.

I just imagine him throwing out random young people slang he’s heard or read up on. Like, he goes in with a plan on how to talk to his obsession in their young people language and he says everything with so much confidence too. It’s when his bby is in hysterics or just generally confused that has Steve panicking and saying random words now. It’ll end up in a complete mess. He’s still learning and he promises he’ll get it but this moment in time will haunt him.

I can see him going to Peter and asking him to help him understand the youth of today but it only leads him to being even more confused and lost.

How would yandad Steve react if his darling was a yandere for him, too👀?

(I’m not really one who likes the reader being yandere but this is kind of interesting. Especially if you think of it as a form of Stockholm syndrome that the yandere may have even encouraged.)

I don’t think he’d be okay with any kind of killing or hurting of people, especially innocent people. But he would be over the moon if they were as loving and affectionate as he is with them. It would warm his heart if they were protective over him like he is over them but again he wouldn’t want them to get themself into trouble or hurt.

If his bby were to kill for him I most definitely think that he would help hide the body. They did it for him after all and he sure as hell isn’t going to let his bby got to jail or get into any trouble because of him.

The dynamic would definitely be one where they both have each other’s backs. It’s just the two of them, and maybe the avengers or just Bucky and Sam, but otherwise there won’t be room for anyone else. This is their little family, their little piece of heaven and it’s fine just the way it is.

How would the yandads react to their platonic darling not saying "I love you" back when they say goodbye?

Like you know for example Yandad Steve is about to go To a long mission or something and he's like

Yandad Steve: bye bby be good I'll be back soon love u <3

And the darling is just like

Y/n: *while on her phone* k bye

Yandad Steve would be so expectant, all the dads would to be honest. When Reader doesn’t say the words he’s expecting, Steve will clear his throat, say he’s leaving again and how long it’ll be before he saw his bby again. Maybe they just didn’t hear him. If he still doesn’t get the words he wants though then he won’t leave until he does.

Yanpapa Oliver would also be under the impression that his bby didn’t hear him say goodbye. He’d wait a second, repeat himself and if he still doesn’t get what he wants then he’s a crying mess clutching onto his bby for dear life. Just say the words and he’ll act as if nothing happened, going back to his “normal” papa self.

Yandad Bruce isn’t going to let that fly. No, he’s getting an “I love you” before he leaves. Bruce is the type to not repeat himself or work you through what he wants of you, no, he’ll just stand in place and stare at his bby expectantly. And if they want him to stop and leave them they’ll say the words back.

Yandad Clark would be the type to walk his bby through saying the words. Like, “Bye, Y/n! Be home soon. Love you!” “K. Bye Clark.” He’s at the door, hand hovering over the handle, “And?” There’ll be a notable sigh and then Reader will finally say the words. Once they do, Clark will happily be on his way.

Yandad Lex, much like Bruce, would silently stare at his bby expectantly. He won’t leave until they say it and if he doesn’t think the words are said genuinely or with enough emotion then he’s still not leaving until they are.

Yandad Hal has no problem telling his bby what he wants to hear. Like, “Bye, Y/n! Love you!” “Yeah. Bye, Hal.” There’ll be an expectant pause before Reader hears a semi threatening, semi reminding “Say it.” Like all the other dads, once the words are said he’ll leave.

Bonus:

Yandad Wolverine never says the words himself but he’ll be damned if his bby doesn’t say them. Just one arched brow from him and those words will come flying out Reader’s mouth no problem.

Yandad Deadpool would be so annoying about it. Honestly, Wade says “I love you” after every other sentence and more times then not he expects his bby to answer every single one with their own “I love you too”. But goodbyes are extremely important to Wade, even though he tries to play them off as nothing. It’s when he’s leaving that he really needs his bby to tell him they love him. If they don’t he’ll get real close and repeatedly poke them until they do. His strategy is to annoy them into giving him what he wants.

How would yandad Steve react to his bby making him dinner from scratch to apologise for being difficult, but SIKE it's drugged and she runs away while he's out cold?

Steve’s happiness towards his bby making him dinner is indescribable. He’s overflowing with joy and he can’t wait to dig into what you’ve made him. The first bite tastes a little funny but he knows his bby tried and that’s it hat matters. Then the drugs kick in and Steve puts up a pretty good fight, he’s really trying to fight the effects of the drugs but it doesn’t last long.

When he comes to, Steve is still groggy and trying to process what just happened. Once he does though he’s not too happy. He can’t honestly believe that you actually drugged him. He’s still shocked but he can’t lose focus of his main priority and that’s you. Steve is getting the help of everyone he can think of.

Depending on how long his bby is gone, Steve’s disappointment in his bby would turn to worry. He is genuinely worried about his bby being on their own without him. He anxiously wants to find them and bring them home. Once he does find his bby and they are safe and we’ll he is definitely grounding them for life. And from now on he’s the only one allowed to cook.

Yandad Steve Rogers is a little hurt. But he’s one who can’t discount that you do have another father. One who was there before him and Steve is appreciative towards him for raising you until he came around. Steve would be one to make his own version too but instead it’s ‘You’re my kid too Boogie Woogie Woogie’ or something of the sort.

Yanpapa Oliver Queen is going to be so devastated. Like, who is this mans? He’s your papa! Why isn’t he the one in the vine? Do you need a picture of him? ‘Cause he’s got plenty. Yandad Hal Jordan feels a little attacked. He’s a good dad, so why didn’t you put him in there too. He knows you’ve got your OG dad and he tolerates it but couldn’t you put him there too. He’s more or less fine with sharing the role of dad, as long as he’s the cooler one. But at least give him a little credit.

Yandad Bruce Wayne wouldn’t be impressed. If you had chosen to put him in your version then he would have loved it, watching it on repeat forever. But he’s unamused. Yandad Lex Luthor is another one who isn’t amused. This will only fuel his jealousy towards your real father for being there before he ever could have been. He would erase it and pretend it never existed. He’s obviously the better dad. He has so much more to offer so why not do something for him if you’re going to do anything for your father. He’d be another one who would be petty and hold a grudge but only towards Reader’s real father. He has no ill-will towards his bby. Never.
