His stare burns into you.

Even though that floppy mask covers his face, drenches his eyes, it’s like they’re present, ever watching. You’ve always kind of felt like that everlasting gaze would just follow you everywhere you go. It would lurk in the backdrop, golden eyes a syrupy mess that was too thick to swim through. But they’re hidden, so you’ll never be able to see what emotions are dancing around before him. All you can do is bare yourself to him, arms outstretched and turned upside down. The flat of your forearms seem to glisten with sweat, with tears, and you have to curl your bottom lip in to bite down.

“What’d ya do to yourself, doll?”

You don’t want to answer him. The truth will get you in trouble, but a lie will get you even more in trouble. There’s not an option that sounds nice, and you swear you see his knuckles turn white. They squint, brighter and brighter, rich diamonds that offer zero security. You wonder how long it’ll take for those diamonds to encrust the wall, to stud strange patterns with each thrust.

He’s waiting for an answer, but his patience isn’t safe.

“I—I… I fell down the stairs.”

That wasn’t a lie but it wasn’t the truth. No. What had happened was you managed to slip through the guards posted around this underground base. You had meticulously studied every little twist and all of the alcoves this place offered, tucked it away, and stewed on a plan to escape. Months, it had taken months, and you had finally concocted something that you believed would work. It would have. It would have, but that damn freak in the white lab coat had unlocked that hidden doorway to descend the stairs at the very same time you had begun to ascend. Panic had eaten you alive, electricity that had no ending, and you slipped. Crashing and falling, each right angle had cut into you in ways you’d never known before, rattling your bones, knocking your organs from the inside out. And you know he noticed you, but he hadn’t said a word at the time. But there’s an inkling inside of you that your tumble didn’t stay secret for long.

Kendou doesn’t like your answer.

His fists, clenched, begin to unfurl until they’re long tentacles, stretching, thick, and you’re afraid they’re going to wrap around your throat to snap your neck. He’s never truly hit you. He’s too chivalrous for that—but everyone has a threshold. Everyone has a specific amount of chemicals that can be tossed on the neurons of their brain, birthing through axons and receptors, clicking and clicking before they snap.

“That it? Ya ain’t got nothing else to tell me?”

That lab coat freak snitched on you. There’s fury and rage burning behind your teeth, but you can’t do anything. You can’t even grit your teeth, nothing, but it doesn’t stop the broiling. Why did that freak tell Kendou? The two of them never talk! You’ve never seen them interact. The only people you have ever seen Kendou interact with is that Tengai or the boss of this whole underground lair. You must be shaking, that’s why your vision starts tunneling. There’s no other explanation. You’re spinning, everything is, and you’re trying hard to make sure your feet don’t stumble and sway out from underneath you.

You shakily hum.

“N-No. Nothing at all.”

He’s going to ask why you were so close to the exit, that you know. There’s no excuse in the world that you could conjure that would explain that. Kendou knows that you know that. And now that you’ve failed, forever and ever, you’re sure things are never going to be the same. Whatever little freedoms and trust you’d garnered evaporated, completely gone, and there’s no rewinding that. Kendou is never letting you leave this room again—after all of your hard work. Frustration isn’t even a word that can fully encompass all of the vibrations in your muscles, brewing your marrow, making you so very conscious of your state of being. You’re alive, you can feel it, and you can feel all of the times Kendou’s palms have traced over your flesh, have brought you closer to him, have twisted the locks to your chains. This is it. You’re through.

Kendou exhales, and it’s almost a laugh.

“Right. ‘M not even gonna attempt to argue with you on this. Sit on the bed now, and get rid of all’a the clothes covering where you’re hurt.”

Even though you want to kick and scream, even though you want to throw yourself onto the floor and never move again, even though there are tears threatening to rain in your eyes—you acquiesce. Your legs are trembling whenever you take a step back, and you feel like you’re going to faint whenever you clumsily pivot around. Each thud of your bare foot is a gong in your heart, it makes you shake, makes you ripple like skipping stones in a pond, and you feel like you’re walking straight into your grave. How long will you have to live here? How long will this take? When will you be free? Will you ever be able to climb that stairwell to sanctity? Is there even a sanctity?

The bed takes you well whenever your body fumbles and collapses into an awkward sitting position. You stay there, and your whole body is quaking, and you wonder what Kendou’s going to do. Your hands can barely function, frozen stiff, arthritis a vying snake, but you do what you’re told. Each article of clothing weighs a million, but Kendou’s words weigh a billion.

Kendou’s gone and back in a flash, and he’s carrying what looks like a first aid kit. His fingers ensnare that little box, and you’re so very aware of how big and powerful he really is at this very moment. He sighs, and it’s pissed off, but he doesn’t do anything except speak through a low tone, whispering, hissing,

“Let me heal your wounds, babe. And once I’ve got ya all patched up, I’m going to remind you where you belong.”

An everlasting gaze, and you’re trapped right within its clutches.

Kai had caught you trying to escape. Or rather, Rappa was the one who actually caught you, laughing and jeering at your cries and the pounding of your small fists on his back. Your captor was not amused in the slightest as his henchman emerged into his office with you tucked a little too snuggly over his shoulder.

“Caught your lil’ scrub tryin’ to escape, boss.” Rappa cackled, sitting you down on the chair in front of the yakuza leader’s desk. “Damn, does she squeal like a pig.”

Tapping a finger against his forehead, he signed and closed his eyes, slumping back in his chair, hands folded in his lap.

“I’ll never stop trying to escape because anywhere else is better than being here with you, Overhaul.” You spat venomously, squirming under Rappa’s tight grip. The man behind you just chuckled darkly.

“Say, boss...if the little lady here is so unhappy with you, why don't you put her on loan to someone for the time being? Let ‘em show her how good you are to her, eh?”

Kai quirked a brow at Rappa, immediately picking up what he was throwing down. He had half a mind to punish Rappa as well for his blatant display of insubordination and to dare to think he’d willingly give up his precious pet to him like she was a mere stray.

Ah, but the man did have a point. His pet needed to be taught how kind her master is, and Rappa is the perfect opposition to do so. A degenerate at heart, his underling, was rowdy, filthy, and above all, a bigger sadist than Kai was.

“I will say this only one more time; I will not fight you. I refuse to touch something as repulsive as you! I’d honestly be surprised if anyone would willingly touch you, you disgusting cretin.” Rappa frowned under his plague mask. It was normal for Overhaul to insult him, but today, his words actually kind of hurt. 

To be completely honest, today just wasn’t his day. He awoke with a killer hangover and you weren’t there to give him a good morning kiss. The brown haired man practically tore the apartment apart in an effort to find you, only to look at his phone and see a text from you. Your office called you in early. After his panic faded, he realised he was late for a villain meeting. So, he ran to the hideout, only to hear that the event was cancelled. Kendou then tried to go home, only to be told he needed to stay. So, he sat around for five hours doing nothing. His clothes were sweat stained and he was hungry, but he tried to see the brightside. Maybe today, Overhaul would fight him! 

As usual, he was wrong. All the stoic man did was belittle him. 

Kendou knew that he looked like a mess, he knew that he was weak compared to Overhaul, but it didn’t make him feel any better to have it rubbed in his face.

Overhaul x f!Reader headcanons (18+)

First of all, you know Chisaki is going to dom you. You can see it in the guy’s face. He’s used to giving orders and expects you to follow them immediately and without question. If he tells you strip, you’d better strip. If he tells you bend over, you should be bending over. You cried and cried, terrified out of your mind.

It’s been nearly three days since you were dragged from your tent in the middle of the night, kicking and thrashing helplessly, unable to scream.

The faint echoes of howls filling the air foretelling your fate.

“Please... just let me go...!” you weep, though you know you’ll never get the response you want.

Instead, your kidnapper reaches between the bars of your cage, thumb stroking a tear from your cheek before trailing down to the fresh bite wound on your neck.

“You know I can’t do that, darlin... it’s not safe out there.” he murmurs gently.

“I took you away to protect you, sweet pea. Couldn’t leave my soulmate to fend for herself.”

(Here’s a Yandere Rappa x Female Reader who doesn’t give a hoot about his tendencies (lol I learned that phrase from one of my online professors) and just lets shit happen ;)) Sorry that this is so short!

Unlocking your beat up front door, you chuck it open, and damn near collapse in the foyer. Working as a (waiter/waitress) is tiring, and after your ten hour shift, all you want to do is sleep. 

Kicking off your black (trainers/heels), you slam the door closed behind you, and yell out for your large boyfriend, “Kendou, I’m home!” You place your (coat/bag) on the coat rack and run a hand down your face firefly. 

When you don’t hear a response, you raise an eyebrow, and venture further into the apartment. 

“Kendou Rappa, are you there?” You tiredly walk past the kitchen, not seeing him or dinner, “Don't tell me you ate without me! That’s so rude!” Pouting slightly, you enter the bedroom, and finally see your beast of a boyfriend, “There you are,” He doesn’t turn towards you, “Kendou?” 

He’s unmoving. He doesn’t even look to be breathing. Hurrying over to him, you place a hand on his shoulder, your face knit with concern. 

“Baby, what’s wrong-?” He shoves your hand off of him, and whips around to look at you. His eyes are red and puffy, which brings you to believe that he was crying. 

“I know what you’re doing!” You tilt your head in confusion, making him flush with anger, “Don’t look at me like that! I know that you’re cheating on me with that dickhead Dabi!” Kendou believes that you’re cheating on him with…. Dabi? That asshole of all people? 

“Why on earth would you think that, Ken?” A look of hurt flashes over your face, “He’s an awful person! Why would I downgrade to trash, when I have a winning lottery ticket in my hand already?” You caress his face with your hands, which he tries to swat away. He was unable to. Climbing over the bed, you sit next to him, and coax his head onto your shoulder. Running a hand through his hair, you smooch the top of his head, “What happened today, baby?” 

The large man sniffles pitifully, but starts to spill his guts, “I went to visit you earlier, and I saw you talking with Dabi.” Rolling your eyes, you turn towards him and roll your eyes. 

“He’s a customer, Ken, I can't just ignore him. But, I can promise that there’s nothing between us. If you want, I’ll even ask my boss if you can stay with me tomorrow to protect me from him,” He reaches down to hold yours, and intertwines his fingers with your own. After a long moment of silence, he speaks once more. 

“Ya promise yer not in cahoots with the burn unit?” Hearing his normal gruff tone come back makes you smile happily. Nodding, you squeeze his hand reassuringly. 

“I promise. You’re my one and only. I could never see myself with anyone else, so please don’t forget that,” He kisses the top of your head tenderly, before scooping you into his lap, and wrapping his large arms around your midsection. You lay your arms on top of his with a happy hum. 

“I’m sorry for freaking out, I just-” You shush him, and lay your head back on his chest. 

“It’s okay, Ken. I understand why you’re so worried, and, if anything, I love how protective you are. After you became a part of my life, I haven’t felt unsafe! I mean, who would want to fight my big, strong boyfriend? I sure wouldn’t!” You feel him chuckle behind you, his wellbuilt chest rumbling. 

“Ya got me there, Babe. But still, I feel a lil’ guilty. Whaddaya’ say to eatin’ out on me?” 

“Eat on you? I’ll pass-” The large man starts to (tickle/poke) you unyieldingly, causing you to shriek in surprise. 

“Okay, smartass, I guess ya don’t want free food!” Shoving his hand away, you laugh happily. 

“I’m just messing with you! Of course I want free food!” Your chest heaves in and out deeply, face flushed. You relax back into his chest one more, trying to catch your breath. Without warning, Kendou stands up with you securely in his arms. 

“Then let’s go! I I wanna get some chicken nuggets.”

"Kai, what did you do?" Hari asked.

As the explanation of last night's events came out, both of the newcomers initially nodded along with the news. Hari complimented Kai on the cooking idea and Rappa was excited about the romantic walk in the snow. However, as the full story unfolded into the part where you bolted, the eyes on Overhaul's yakuza family became wider and wider. Then, there was the confession about the sedates which garnered an exchanging of glances. It was only when the end story was complete that everyone suddenly understood exactly how far up the shitlist Dr. Chisaki Kai had climbed.

Hari massaged his temples. "Oh Kai…" he groaned.

"Dude… Doc…" Rappa scratched his head. "You got issues ."

Overhaul's eyes narrowed. "You're one to talk."

"Yeah, but even I'm not that bad with women," the pink-haired giant insisted, raising his fourth digit and pointing at it. "Did you even get her a ring first?"

Kai's silence answered the question more thoroughly than any words could.

The blue-haired yakuza looked like he might bite his own tongue off before saying anything. Rappa was not so subtle. He turned to Hari with judging brows and narrowed eyes.

"You see what happens when you all coddle the guy just because he's going to be the next head?!" The pink-haired giant thrust a finger in the general direction of the door. " This is what happens!"

"Not help-ing, Rappa," Hari replied in a near sing-song tone of annoyance.

"I'm just saying, for once, I ain't the family fuck up."

"And we're all very proud of you," Chisaki replied in a vicious snarl. "Now if you could be useful for once, that would be of real astonishment."

"...want me to go talk to her?"  Rappa asked, pointing at his nose.

The one thing you could hear very clearly through the door was the simultaneous reply from Hari and Kai:

"NO!"
