I didn't even include all the other AR∀GO WIPs buried in my docs. WHY was I writing an AR∀GO fic in the year of our lord 2024.

The window beside him slid open, old wood scraping loudly against the frame, and an old woman’s face popped out to look at him. “My, aren’t you in a bad way. Only one more floor to go, laddie, you can do it.” Arago looked at her blankly.  “Whuh?” The woman leaned back into the flat, then out again.  “Just after six, he should be home.  Go on.” She sounded totally sincere, and her aura agreed. Whatever was upstairs, she thought it was good.  For him. Arago heaved himself to his feet. He grabbed the railing of the stairs going up. When he glanced back at the old woman, she waved him on and closed the window.  He was too tired to think anymore.  Arago hadn’t had a coherent thought for at least half an hour, running on pure instinct. So sure. Up the stairs. One step after another, muscles screaming at him, a dull thumping in his head that might have been his heart or his footsteps or some unknown drummer. You never knew. It was warm enough for people to have their windows open, and that might have been a flute he heard on the wind. He hoped the player was human.

i think a lot of people can't handle the fact that their favorite characters in port mafia are... bad people? not just mori lol. like for example despite kouyou snapping at mori for making comments about being interested in little girls she also didn't seem to think it would be a problem for kyouka to get dragged back into the mafia life because she was projecting her own experience to her apprentice

Also yes, people talk about stanning villains and/or morally grey characters until the characters do things that make them villains or morally grey, lol. And your point about Kouyou is a good example because— and this is what makes the story good— none of the characters do bad things for the sake of being bad. There’s always complex, twisted, and complicated reasons behind it. Even if it’s not justifiable, which is what makes it wrong, it still creates in depth characters. And yet it’ll still be thrown under the rug for people to go “but why didn’t a character specifically look at the audience and go ‘this is not a good thing to do’?”

I DO think if him and Nanashi met they would be best friends, thick as thieves, Nanashi would know exactly what alcohol to prime him with to get access to monastery records and information. also tbh abbot hugo would be happy to teach someone and Nanashi is a scholar at heart.

I don't trust premade sandwiches with mayo on them any more because when I was a kid, the 'bukkake special' was the default setting for supermarket sandwiches.

I keep thinking about a Farcille role swap AU where Marcille is the one to get eaten and teleports everyone out. She doesn’t want to die, but at least this way she doesn’t have to see her friends die before her.

Falin being racked with guilt. Marcille is one of the most important people to her. People thinks she’s the more calm headed of the Touden’s but she’d try to go back so quickly. Laios supports her, of course. Maybe Toshiro says he’ll help to get into Falin’s favor, and thinks Falin would wait until he returned with help (only to come back to hear she already went in).

Falin, who is usually so placid, being driven with a desperation to get Marcille back. The party knew she would be affected, but they didn’t know it would be this much.

The main points go the same- the dragon is defeated and Marcille is bones. Falin’s specialty is healing + the body and soul and with how close she is with Marcille, she knows about the resurrection ritual. Her devotion to putting everything back in place.

Marcille is back, but of course it all goes to shit.

Falin taking her place and the Winged Lion being so disappointed. Almost all of Falin’s desires are second hand desires of others. The only real desire of any kind of substance is her desire for Laios and Marcille to be safe. The Lion is frustrated or confused because surly she should desire something for herself. As another user, @yarrayora , mentioned Falin would be more like a seasoning instead of an actual meal. The Lion would be quick to discard her once he got what he wanted.

Maybe it’s just cause we got so little of Falin in the actual story, but I would love her self sacrificing tendencies/people pleasing and what her actual drives and desires outside of other people were explored more.

Unfortunately it's The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die although I did not finish it because I found the pacing is really bad as compared to the series. If I can add the movie I finished though, Reincarnated as a Slime: Scarlet Bond Movie. It's what I expected it to be mostly, so I enjoyed it but I don't think it's really worth recommending unless you're into the anime series
