DO I. vibrating at incredibly high frequencies rn what better place to start than once again w the yarrow siblings bc WOW. THEY DRIVE ME NUTS!! like. for example ive been thinking of bella again more recently n feel incredibly sick ovr it all, ik I briefly mentioned sm stuff abt her before BUT? shes actually this eldest sister of all time guys n let me explain:

where to even begin. she was the first of her parent's eventual "failures", while being graced w gen love n kindness at first from them they quickly grew "tired" of her n she could never understand why. one day they were indulging her whims, pinching her cheeks n letting her come everywhere w them, n the next she was tugging at her mother's skirt hem n her fathers hand asking to be picked up n they only tiredly looked at her this time n told her to "stop being fussy" n that was that. when she heard they were having another kid it felt like she was being "replaced" n her chest hurt so bad and her eyes welled up n she ended up running to her room n slamming the door n crying into her pillow bc she just wanted her parents back n knew that now she'd really never get to have them again. when her baby brother was finally born tho, her mother made her hold him n at first bella only frowned sullenly down at him bc really- this is what they were replacing her with? but something inexplicable softened inside of her against her will when he softly smacked his little fist against her chest n ended up snuggling closer to her, n she ended up walking around the house simply carrying him for a while until he fell asleep so her mom could rest. when they eventually realized there was something wrong w myer- that being his near inability to see pretty much anything- suddenly he wasnt their cute kid anymore he was something that was "too much work" bc of this, n so what do they do? they pawn him off on bella of course, n u can guess how well that goes over. not only have they replaced her but now they've turned her into myers sole caretaker pretty much bc theyre gone so much of the time (AT AGE 8 MIND YOU.) once, bella shut the door in myers face n told him to go away, only to open it hours later n see him sitting right outside fiddling w the carpet in the dark. she felt so guilty tht she started crying n hugged him close n said she was sorry over n over. like she really felt like he “took” her parents love at first, but now? it feels like he's simply in the same boat as her n she has no choice but to step up for him bc if not her then who else. tht doesnt mean she still didnt struggle w him, far from it in fact, but while she has these mixed emotions, she also knows that despite myer not being able to see her much, whenever he hears her voice its enough to bring him running from the opposite end of the house to her n that means something to her. AND I HAVENT EVEN GOTTEN TO KEITH N LORELEI YET THE FUCK OF IT ALLLLL. when bella once AGAIN hears tht her mom is having another kid, TWINS this time she nearly loses it because she simply doesnt understand why both her n myer arent good enough n why theyve been discarded. when keith n lorelei arrive ofc its only a matter of time bf theyre all but pushed onto bella to take care of, n shes so so tired at this point but she simply steels herself n accepts bc she wont allow them to be abandoned. keith is a sullen little brat who's too angry so much of the time but she understands bc shes like that too deep down still. lorelei nearly never sleeps n her n keith cause so much trouble tgt but shes also the one to hug bellas leg n tell her she loves her no matter if they just fought or not. n bella may feel bitter but she'll still read them the books she found at the dump at night n listen to them all n let them pull on her apron n whine when shes trying to make things n like. they annoy her so much she wishes her parents never had them she doesnt know how to live without them now she'd do anything to protect her broken little family she wouldnt know what to do if she lost any of them, n all of these feelings just explode when the draft comes n her parents abandon them all n now its officially her turn to be the head of their fam. do not even get me started on bella being the one to go to the war in place of myer either bc I will not stop SOMEBODY SEDATE MEEEEE

To keep up the momentum for my ffiv au, I have decided now is a good time to make a post about Thrush's Lunar Trial.

A bit of background first: Thrush's big struggle is with their identity and the relationship they had with their family. Overbearing narcissist mother, emotionally absent father, a hateful older sister and a brat younger sister-- Thrush left. They left, changed their name, their appearance (magic top surgery and some cool scars). They refuse to go back to Troia on their own volition. When they wash ashore back in Troia anyways after Leviathan capsizes the Fabul ship, they are forced to confront not the whole family, mercifully, but their older sister Oriole who has become an epopt. The encounter doesn't go well. Oriole curses at Thrush, scorns them, and threatens to use force to return them to their former body. Thrush flees after Oriole swore a life of physical labor as punishment for abandoning their family (as familial ties in Troia are hugely important).

Thrush was very secretive about their origin/past to the party, so having it all revealed so unceremoniously and messily was rather traumatizing. They behave like a hunted, cornered animal for a time.

So Thrush's trial, of course, takes place in Troia. It opens with Thrush approaching the town's edge, cautious and carefully scaling a heavily-leafed tree so not to alert any bystanders. There is some sort of promenade going through the town and they count seven epopts walking in their procession down the street-- upon further investigation, they find it's a coronation ceremony for a new eighth epopt. Thrush squints to try to make out faces and feels their stomach drop when they finally see who the new epopt is: it's them, but it's not. It's her-- Lark, not Thrush, grown into a beautiful and talented white mage, is being guided through the town in epopt's robes with their family smiling brightly and proudly.

In their bewilderment, Thrush falls out of the tree. They hit the ground and their vision blurs as the scene changes. When their vision clears and they're back on their feet, they find themself shoulder-to-shoulder in a town in Troia's town square. They nudge their way to the front of the crowd and it's an even more soul-crushing scene: a wedding. Not just any wedding, but that of Lark and Kain. Kain, clad in his Holy Dragoon armor, overcame his darkness and had fallen in love and has now wed a powerful yet graceful white mage, just as he wishes to in the real world. Lark meets Thrush's eyes and it's insidious. Kain and Lark, dancing slowly as Lark flaunts the glimmering ring on her hand and Kain's blessed armor gleams in the sunlight. They spin and suddenly Kain stares at Thrush, his gaze swimming with contempt and disgust, a gaze Thrush is too familiar with but never coming from him.

Thrush turns to run away, tearing through the crowd, and once they make it out, the scene changes again. The final scene change throws Thrush into the epopt's chamber. Instead of epopts, however, it's their party members. Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, Edge, and Kain, except he is still in his Holy armor. Completing the circle is Lark. To keep this part brief, it's a nightmare: one giant circle of negative self-talk expressed verbally by illusions of their closest friends. The illusions play into their fears of their loved ones lying about caring about them, being useless, etc.. Lark is especially brutal: "I am everything you could've been but were too spineless to become."

Thrush fights diligently to remind themself that this isn't really real, they're on the moon inside ancient ruins, the party is waiting outside. Lark definitely isn't real because Thrush is real. Slowly, as Thrush calms down, the illusions begin to disappear. At the end, only Cecil, Kain, and Lark are left, and as Thrush stands and readies their scythe, the illusion fades fully, revealing a trio of Lunar Sylphs as a boss battle.

I haven't exactly decided what the prize of Thrush's trial is, I haven't gotten that far. I'd love to hear peoples' thoughts tho!! Please!!!

Morgan's parents were both borrowers. Just as he was becoming old enough to learn to borrow, his mother and father decided to return to his mother's colony of origin, where she had family, so that he could have a more secure lifestyle. However, the journey resulted in him losing both his mother and father - he arrived at the colony alone. His mother's name was the only thing that got him through the door.

The culture of musun colonies can vary, but Morgan's mother's colony - the Farrow - was fairly typical. The colony was a large, interwoven group of families headed by a dominant female. Overseen by her were reproductive females - those who were permitted to bear children - and the dominant male, who oversaw any reproductive males (who were typically few in number). Alongside them were nonreproductive females and males - those that were old and retired, those that were younger, and those who simply had low social standing. Reproductive individuals seldom left the colony, taking roles of farmers, nannies, wet nurses and tailors. Nonreproductive individuals could have any array of roles - including hunting and borrowing for the colony. It is ultimately up to the dominant female who is allowed to bear children - a nonreproductive female becoming pregnant could be punished or exiled, or even have her pups culled. Morgan's mother, Popper, was a nonreproductive female who concealed a pregnancy with a non-colony male - and chose to exile herself to protect her child. Despite his illegitimacy, Morgan carries his mother's name, and was allowed in, largely because his grandmother had become the Grand Dam (despite her daughter's self-exile). Regardless, he's a bastard, and his position is very low. Morgan's duties generally included borrowing, bug farming and seed collection.

He grew up alongside cousins who became like siblings to him - particularly Yarrow. As an adult, his cousin has a child, named Fern, that he helps raise - but for reasons unknown to him, she disappears, leaving him to care for the child. Whether she died or left in exile is unknown - and the topic of gossip. Nannying of children typically falls to reproductive roles, but can be shared more widely for pups that are weaned, and his cousin's pup prefers his company to the people that rejected their mother for associating with him.

Morgan also has a close friend, a nonreproductive male named Aster. He's a watchman and guard, whose job is to sound the alarm if the colony is threatened. He was apprenticing for this role when Morgan came to the colony - he's one of the first colony members Morgan met, and Aster is very loyal to him. Aster is sometimes called "Ash" as a nickname.

Colonies like Morgan's often have strict rules about entry and exit to preserve their own safety. Unrelated musun and outsiders have to petition for entry, and even if allowed inside, it can take years before they are considered "part" of the colony. One of their most important rules is in regard to safety - if someone is being chased by a predator, or are otherwise in danger from a malevolent actor, it is strictly forbidden for them to run home. This is because they risk leading the danger to the colony. If someone is being chased, they are instructed to run away from the colony and find a hiding spot until the danger has passed, at which point they can return home unseen.

Morgan breaks this rule when he is spotted and chased by something that is very interested in him - and runs directly home. This creature then lingers around the area of the colony for days, trying to find its scent and dig it up. It eventually gives up - but Morgan is exiled for his carelessness, leading him to become a solitary borrower against his will.

In the years following, Morgan grows used to living on his own (which is difficult for him, as an extroverted person). Back home, turmoil in the colony continues to grow for various reasons - largely related to issues of dominance and struggles for power. Aster, frustrated with his leaders for Morgan's treatment, leaves with Fern to go and find him. Anything is better than where they are now.

Unbeknownst to him, Morgan has been found and captured by the very creature that caused his exile all those years ago - a huge monster named Bug. Turns out Morgan had made his new nest in Bug's apartment.

Morgan comes to trust Bug. He had been living in Bug's walls, and continues to do so - but spends a great deal of time on Bug's person now, too. Eventually, Aster will find Morgan - who is now having a situationship with a giant monster. It goes about as well as you’d expect.

Time’s actually like 32 and is just really committed to the bit of being ancient

Sky is horrific at making new friends. he grew up with the same small group of people, so he never learned how to make friends with complete strangers because there simply wasn’t the need to. so, when he first starts traveling with the chain, he makes little wooden charms for them because he isn’t entirely sure how else to get close with them. Zelda always enjoyed his woodcarvings, so maybe they will too??

as a result, the entire chain has little trinkets made by Sky. on Legend’s bag there’s charms hanging off the straps, and Twilight wears his as necklaces (both because it looks cool as fuck and it helps the shadow crystal stand out less). yes Wind has specifically commissioned him to make something for Aryll

yeah yeah bunny Legend but consider: the mermaid suit (which I like to think is more of a curse bc get fished pink man <3) giving him some marine animal qualities as well. no matter what tho that bitch is an Ariel kinnie, they’re collecting all the shiny shit they can find

Sky is obsessed with doing puzzles the Right and Proper way, meanwhile Wild cheeses absolutely everything he can

Wind believes in all of those classic pirate superstitions

the witches in Legend’s era adore him. Grandma Syrup dotes on him, Maple is like a teasing older sister, and Irene is like a teasing younger sister. this is where he learned most of his magic skills from, and he takes all potentially enchanted or cursed items to them to check out. he’ll never admit it, but Legend finds lots of comfort in all of them, as they’re one of the few people who’ve stayed in his life this long.

Wild’s a pretty good medic!! during his adventure, he very quickly realized how dangerous infection is, so they learned about a lot of home remedies and medicinal herbs, as well as how to tend to a wound from other travelers at stables and inns. he didn’t really get a choice in learning, considering how he probably got stung or bit by painful insects or accidentally brushed up against painful plants a lot during the early days of their adventure, and thus showed up to stables covered in rashes and hives and such, causing every decent person in the area to flock to them and try to help. their Hyrule is very sweet, okay?

they’re not the only one who’s well acquainted with medicinal herbs, though! while I think all of them would have a basic understanding, Time, Hyrule, Warriors, and Wind would know a lot. dw i’m elaborating

Time quite literally grew up in the forest, was raised by a tree, and had actual forest spirits for siblings—he knows his plants. he and Saria would peel willow bark and collect dandelions together

I like to think that Hyrule being half-fae makes him very sensitive to all magic-based auras, including that of plants, so they’re very good at picking out the healing herbs, even if they’re not quite sure what they’re called

listen ok hear me out about Warriors. young Time was appalled that he knew jackshit about nature and forcefully taught him. also, before modern medicine, medicinal plants were used all the fucking time on the battle field. yarrow, an herb that stops bleeding and prevents infection, is called soldiers’ woundwort because of this. i mention this because he was probably concerned about the health and safety of his troops, so he learned what the medics were doing and using.

Wind grew up on a small, tight-knit island, realistically they would’ve had to have learned how to use the things around them to their fullest advantage. that being said, his knowledge is sort of useless outside of his own era, aside from what he was taught in the war. ok i’m done talking about medicinal herbs now i promise sorry it’s a hobby of mine ahhsjdka

Legend’s terrified of dogs. in Link’s Awakening, the dogs are literally balls on chains with huge mouths full of sharp teeth (basically just Chain Chomps). if you want to get angsty with it: it comes from guard dogs being sent after him on his first adventure. he became a lot less scared to more he spent time with BowBow (the ball and chain dog) but, when he woke up, he got the belief that he could only be safe around a dog in his dreams. he’s pretty damn uncomfortable around Wolfie at first, but after lots of time and learning to trust Twilight, he’s able to slowly overcome his fear. sort of. mostly just with Wolfie. he still hates staying at stables in Wild’s Hyrule.

if Wild doesn’t want to explain/source something he’ll just say it came to him via divine intervention. Sky believes it every single time

I was thinking about Legend’s story a while ago and realized it was kind of similar to Joan of Arc’s so take that as you will. idk if this even counts as a headcanon but i’m putting it here

Warriors and Twilight are really close friends because they both understand the struggles of wrangling dirt worshipping nature freaks. anytime Twilight (lovingly) complains about Wild, Wars will counter with whatever asinine feral child antics young Time got up to and suddenly Twi will feel very blessed and lucky

whenever Four sees someone with their hair in a high ponytail he subconsciously thinks they’re very smart and respectable because Dot always wears her hair in a high ponytail

Hyrule is completely fine with not sleeping on a bedroll. they like the dirt, actually. let them sleep in the dirt.

Legend uses apples in his red potions, both to increase their potency and to make them taste better. he also learned how to enchant apples to be healing on their own so sometimes when someone’s hurt he’ll just shove an apple in their face

Geckopaw and Prairiepaw are siblings. Yewtail is only a so-so mentor at the best of times, so Foxfire effectively mentors them both. However, Prairiepaw has swooped in to support Yewtail when they decide to do something stupid and unsustainable on multiple occasions. they really shouldn't have been granted an apprentice tbh. i recently re-read Fire and Ice in the original warriors series so the parallels to Graystripe being a poor mentor to Brackenpaw are intentional

Skypelt came out of retirement to mentor Duskpaw, since they serve such similar real-life purposes. Skypelt doesn't understand everything their apprentice says or does but is generally supportive of such a similar application

Marsh-singer, Whitestep, and Thymeface are all siblings, and are collectively the youngest of the warriors (not accurate to the actual ages of the applications, but eh). to say they are all total gossips would be an understatement. they're also really interchangeable and forgettable. like the Runningwinds of apps.

depending on how positively you want to view the whole "reincarnation" trope some of the canon warriors books have, you could say that Tickpaw is a reincarnation of Musiclight. Otherwise, they just look really similar.

all of the "Cats Outside of Clans" cats are kittypets, with the notable exception of Furzebark, who is a banished rogue with a concerning amount of influence on the Clan(s?). maybe there's a whole band of rogues who are based on insidiously/surprisingly influential applications or online entities! various appstore/playsotre applications could fall under this category, as well as like. roblox, apparently. which is beyond weird to me since that's a game and not a wider application, but it got scarily profitable during lockdown, so...

Redpaw was Yewtail's sibling, but died during their apprenticeship. Probably to the same thing that killed Gravelpounce, but i have no idea what that would be

Flaxflower is generally considered WAY too old to still be alive (since the real internet explorer died a bit ago by now), but since he'd "find a way to be late to his own funeral", he has yet to kick the bucket.

the whole twittypet drama is EASILY the juiciest gossip the clan has had in ages, ESPECIALLY the half-clan checkmark-kits. in-universe, im interpreting the poor management of twitter that's been driving it into the ground irl as a negligent cat owner unintentionally driving their pet to spend more time outdoors with other cats (namely, dashclaw) to get away from them, which resulted in kittens. drummed-up anti-kittypet sentiment aside, many clan cats looking in on the situation just feel bad for her.

Vinewatcher is the most consistently "present" of the StarClan spirits, but is also the most consistently unhelpful. numerous potential prophecies later turned out to just be inside jokes of theirs they decided to continue rehashing into the afterlife. Quarrypaw, having not gotten much experience identifying what makes a legitimate prophecy yet, finds this exceptionally annoying behavior, and would like them to stop. They do not.

WHO IS HE?

His energies are more suited to human consumption, but consuming offerings given to him may still cause an imbalance in energy and a disruption in the connection. It is always better to err on the side of caution and avoid eating or drinking offerings given to Lucifer.

Koopaling Headcanons: Morton

Larry | Morton | Wendy | Iggy | Roy | Lemmy | Ludwig

The gentle giant who's solid as stone, and the main enforcer of Bowser's army! A wonderful lad, he is.

Right-handed.

Fond of scrapbooking! He has a few about his siblings and growing up together, but also keeps some about his interests. Wendy likes to gift him cute papers and pattern clippers, and Lemmy finds him cool stickers.

Likes watching wrestling with Roy, which often becomes wrestling with Roy.

He likes watching cooking shows for recipes ideas with Larry, and listening to him ramble about how people are doing things incorrectly.

Has a fairly good memory, and is the most likely to not get distracted on a mission, a trait Ludwig is incredibly grateful for.

Favorite season is winter, due to the novelty (but he can't stay in the snow for too long). Summer is a close second.

A pretty decent writer. His prose is fantastic; it's speaking aloud that he had trouble with.

Surprisingly good at healing magic, possibly more so than Ludwig or even Kamek.

He got gifted a camera from Iggy when he was ten, and he's been taking good care of it ever since. He uses it for scrapbooking, mostly, but he likes taking pictures of what surrounds him.

Very fond of yarrow flowers, due to the colors and how so few of them grow in the Darklands. He first discovered them when he was stationed on a mountain fortress waiting for Mario, and picked a whole bunch to keep inside.

Favorite candies are butterscotch and caramel chews, as well as crunchy rock-candy.

While his favorite pastries are donuts, Wendy once gave him a slice of her patisserie’s strawberry shortcake to try, and he’s been hooked on the flavor even since.

Prefers keeping his notes on pen and paper rather than a phone. He likes the feeling of writing.

Favorite fruit is raspberries and oranges.

Allergic to peanuts, but he prefers Nutella anyway.

His skin is actually much thicker than his siblings to help resist temperature extremities, and since he likes to burrow in sand a lot, it sometimes can get cracked and dry. He and Wendy like to get treatments and make a day of it together.

One of his favorite things is just sitting with his siblings and seeing what they're doing. He's happy to help with whatever they're involved in.

The physically strongest koopaling out of the seven. He's sometimes not quite aware of his strength, but he's trying to get better at it.

Has a soft spot for cute, fluffy animals. Probably aware of Larry's love for a ‘girly’ pony show, but doesn't mind.

Likes listening to Ludwig go on about his mystery novels, and helps as a sound-board for when he needs to bounce theories off someone.

He keeps a miniature zen-garden in his room, and likes to spend time raking little patterns in the sand and moving the rocks around.

The first of his siblings to figure out how to transform his wand into another weapon.

Magic is a weird case with him; trying to cast was difficult, even if the effect was fine. When he learned how to wield his hammer, however, it felt much more intuitive.

Really good with kids, even if he doesn't see a lot of them. He was the most excited out of all his siblings for when Junior was born.

Easily the best secret keeper out of the seven. That koopaling is a VAULT.

Has a fondness for birds, especially ducks. He once got to go to a farm with little ducklings and hold them, and he was crying happy tears almost the entire time.

Coincidentally, he's got an amazing rubber ducky collection. It's very cute, and touching it without his permission will very likely kill you.

Is a big fan of sculpture work, and sometimes will make little trinkets and carvings from chunks of rock he finds. His love of making things is also what convinced him to create Morton's Construction, when his siblings were making businesses.

Wendy is on a persistent quest to make him an Instagram for his scrapbooks and carving work. Morton is on a persistent quest to remember to use it, but always gets distracted.

One of the best taiko drummers —and kumi-daiko performers — this side of the Darklands. He practices with the Hammer Bros.

Can and will stop everything and anything he's doing to make sure an animal crosses the street safely.

Has an almost mom-level accuracy for knowing where lost things are. Any time his siblings can't find something, they go to him, and ninety percent of the time, his guesses are right.

Loves giving hugs! Does not love how he sometimes hugs a little too hard and people get squished.

He likes experimenting in the kitchen with Larry, offering spice suggestions and combos, even if he turns the heat on way too high.

Turn Week 2024

Set It To Music

What do I even say for this prompt? If you’ve been following me for a long time, you’ll know that learning about songs in early America is one of my nerdiest passions. (I have a whole tag about it here.) (Two, actually.) For today though, I’m going to share some of my Turn specific playlists (folk music or not) and give a little run down of each:

Turn: Bicentennial Edition’s younger, angrier, louder sibling. Did you guys know Billy Joel, hero of Long Island, was actually a member of the Culper Ring?

An oldie, but a goodie! I made this playlist WAYY back when I first started getting into attaching Turn to folk songs, and I think it’s a good place to start. If you loved the song from 2.08 (Dowie Dens of Yarrow) this playlist is for you.

WC x Rain World Art Month

Little intermission before I make and post my Hunter design for Warriors x Rain World, a little family tree including Goldenheart (Monk), Yarrowleap (Survivor), as well as their parents and third sibling!

You can consider these relatives to be background characters, none of them are part of the clans, or at least not yet. I'll try to go in order (ramble under read more)!

Hemlock - The father! Lock is a ginger shorthair cameo Mackerel (I know he doesn't look like it very much, I find "gray base with orange stripes" a bit hard to pull off). He was the loving mate of Carob, before he went missing and presumed dead. Taken away by Twolegs, never to be seen by his little family again... In reality, Hemlock was TNR'd. He is trying to find his mate and kits, but I feel like he's the sort of guy to get pulled into side quests along the way. Maybe run-ins with the Scavengers, helping some random cat, whatever.

Carob - The mother! Carob is a longhair fawn-and-cream calico, though she's mostly white. I'm gonna be honest, the poor she-cat is going through it. Raised in an underfunded, understaffed shelter, she has learned to cut her losses, no matter how much it hurts, especially when she's not the most well-versed in survival. First, Hemlock was captured by Twolegs, then, she lost two of her kits, (whom she had named after flowers in his honor, fun fact). No matter how devastating this loss was, she didn't think she had any chance of successfully going after Marigold and Waterlily (/Golden and Yarrow). She had to keep Yucca safe, who very much seemed like the runt at the time. Carob is still wandering around, now much older, with Yucca in toe.

(You know about Goldenheart and Yarrowleap already so I won't go into more detail now, this is already quite long. For what it's worth, though: Goldenheart is a longhair cream ticked tabby, Yarrowleap is a blue smoke shorthair with high white.)

Yucca - The fabled third sibling, Yucca is a silver ticked tabby. They are sort of a more adventurous and cheerful counterpart to their mother, though less blindly optimistic then one might consider Goldenheart. They were born the smallest and seemingly weakest of the lot, as such being quite coddled. Whether it be from not growing up alone or simple genetics, Yucca grew up to actually be quite a large and strong cat, moreso than Yarrow. Yucca, similar to their mom, doesn't have much hope in finding their siblings, though unlike her, they believe that they survived. In the midst of keeping themselves and Carob alive, they try to suss out any information they can. It hasn't been working out too well though, as the pair linger closer to the Twolegplace than the Clans.

Do you have any ships with your OCs that you prefer over others, or alternatively any characters that you'd rather people not ship with each other?

what a broad ask!... i assume you're asking about cuphead ocs specifically bc otherwise we'd be here for ages

i mean, very obviously these things do not really need saying but, do not ship people who are related (the apple siblings, cuphead mugman and kettle, val and yarrow, etc. etc.), do not ship the children with adults (goldie and plink are both meant to be children), and respect sexualities (red solo is gay for example, red with a feminine partner would be ooc and incorrect).

Otherwise I can't particularly think of like. things that stand out too much or ships that particularly give me ick?

I DO think that Mac and Cuphead romantically is cute but I much prefer them together platonically. i think it's far deeper and much more intimate.

Oswin has a side piece over his ribs (I think the right side, but I'd honestly have to check my notes). It's of a bouquet comprised of all the plants he and his siblings were named after at birth (sage leaves, poppy flowers, aster flowers, and yarrow flowers).

Rune has the emblem of their favored goddess, Casimir, centered on the top of their chest. It looks like the bottom half of a sun. (Her brother, Hayat, has the top half of the sun as a sigil.)

No tats for Zahn, but they admire them. None for Duri either. The mystery RO may or may not have any. 😁

Hi! I'm kinda new to your account, I love your & others headcanons for pjo characters. So I wanna share some of mine!

SALLY, & PAUL

Sally to me is Malaysian her birth name is Suleika Jusoh, her parents [Mom-Esah/Estelle Jusoh nee Tey, Dad-Bintang/Benjamin Jusoh] had gone to take care of her grandparents [Granpa-Haissam, Granma-Kasih] funeral rites in Malaysia, the plane back unfortunately crashed & they where killed in crash

From then on she was raised by her Uncle Reehab Jusoh, Ruben in America, who'd somehow gotten a house on Montauk beach, when Suleika was seventeen her Uncle Reehab died from a chronic illness [honestly I'm thinking an std], leaving everything he had in Sally's name, the house on the beach isn't fully livable, no running water & the electricity is kinda shoddy, so she moves into NYC proper

Percy is actually named after his grandfather, Perseus Benjamin Jackson [PB&J cause i think im funny like that], Percy of course is Malaysian & I wanna say his Greek side is from the region of Pylos but I can't remember why I chose it

Estelle is also named after her Grannies, Estelle Janet Blofis

Sally's always been protective of using their actual names in legal things, her parents wrote her down as Sally to give a better chance at getting bye in the US & she did the same for Percy in both the real & mythical world

Paul Blofis to me was very dad/uncle coded so he looked like the guys on the mom's side of my family, so he's Afro-Latino, he specifically trace himself to Panama & Mexico, from his mom [Janet nee Yarrow, Afro-Latina] who moved from Panama to the US, & his dad's [Oscar Sr.] side who is Mexican, he's got two older siblings [Janice & Oscar Jr.], an older cousin [Garfield], a cousin his age [Raymond], a little sister [Caroline], & a younger cousin [Lilia]

He's always been the black sheep of the family, not from their own trying & his own, things would just fall out of step & once he graduated & started working in NYC he just didn't call & talk much anymore, the advent of his marrige to Sally & Estelle's birth kinda forced him to get his shit together & actually talk about his life

[I like to think Percy's mortal cousins call him PB for short]

Firstborn of Yarrow and Morning Glory's second litter, with her littermate Aster. She never met her older brother, Hibiscus.

Has always been pretty serious and bossy, an opposite to her sister's sunny disposition.

Lost her mother at a young age, throwing her inheritance into question. The pride ultimately decided to let Cypress mature into the role of matron.

Her father, Yarrow, joined the pride after his mate's death, proclaiming he would raise their daughters in her stead. He ended up ignoring them, and his relationship would Cypress and Aster degraded until his relationship with Myrtle comes to light.

Aster and Cypress grow close after Glory's death, and she becomes Cypress's biggest weakness, getting away with what others could not.

Cypress pushed away members of her own pride, not wanting to be hurt again, and started forming friendships outside the pride. She eventually invites Honeysuckle to join.

As an adult, Cypress focused on proving her responsibility, quietly ignoring the looming deadline of a litter on the horizon--the last thing she would need to be accepted as matron.

When the time comes, Cypress chooses Perch of Coldbank as the sire, having built a rapport with him over the course of the season. They grow close, and Perch decides to ask his pride to remain behind for the Sleeping Year, where he begins seeing Cypress in secret.

The rains are late that season, and after Cypress's litter of three are born, she realizes she won't be able to feed all of them. In secret, she sends two kittens away to Coldbank, keeping her final daughter, Basil, as heir.

That same season, Aster dies, leaving behind her two daughters and an angry, vengeful mate. As Basil is weaned, Cypress puts her energy into caring and mentoring her two nieces, and much of Basil's care falls to Honeysuckle and Ursinia.

The previous pride Speaker retires, and after Amaranth spends a couple seasons as temporary Speaker, Cypress is chosen for the role.

As a matron, Cypress prefers to stay away from other prides and stick to Goldspring's own business. She pushes new ways to hunt in the trees instead of conflict with Windswept, and prefers to save the pride's resources for themselves. She's progressive in her approach to old problems, but stubborn even when her way isn't the most right.

Fully endorses Hollyhock's family taking over Locust's matron spot, but sympathizes with Locust, especially as a friend of Honeysuckle.

Fenrir Deity Guide

Who is Fenrir?

Also called Fenrisúlfr, Fenrir is a giant wolf of Norse mythology. (Arguably THE giant wolf of Norse mythology). This name means “He Who Dwells in the Marshes” and as it turns out, the name “Fenrir” is not actually his name, no one is sure what this Marsh Dweller’s name really is.

His power was threatening to the Aesir who raised Fenrir in hopes to control his strength but he grow at an alarming rate and the Aesir decided to imprison him. They had the dwarves create chains from unusual or difficult items to attain, such as the sound of a cat’s footsteps, the beard of a woman, the breath of fish, the roots of a mountain, the sinews of a bear, and the spittle of a bird

It was foretold that Fenrir would trigger Ragnarök by breaking free of the bondage placed upon him by the Aesir; Fenrir would fight Odin during Ragnarök eventually killing the god.

Notes

Skoll and Hati’s names mean “one who mocks”/”mockery” and “one who hates”/”hatred” respectively.

It is unclear as to who the mother of Skoll and Hati is though there is mention of a wolf-woman who bore giant wolves in the forest of Jarnvidur.

Some also believe that Skoll and Hati are actually derivatives or aspects of Fenrir if not the wolf himself.

Fenrir’s most popular story is the “Binding of Fenrir” in which the Aesir capture and imprison the giant wolf in hopes that it would keep Ragnarök at bay. Throughout his upbringing, only Tyr was brave enough to approach Fenrir to feed him. This created a friendship between the two.

The gods tricked Fenrir by telling him that the various chains presented were testaments of his strength, and they congratulated him with cheers when he broke through them. Eventually, they presented the impossible chains made by the dwarves to the Great Wolf. Suspecting trickery, Fenrir demanded that, as a sign of good faith, one of the gods place their hand in his mouth as the chains were placed on him. Tyr stepped up to this task. As soon as Fenrir’s suspicions were verified and he realized he couldn’t break free, he chomped off Tyr’s arm and swallowed it. Fenrir was then transported to an isolated place where he would stay until Ragnarök.

It was said that the gods laughed at the trapped wolf, except for Tyr, and a great sword was placed in his mouth to keep his jaws open and the drool that came from his jaws created a foamy river called “Expectation” (Old Norse Ván).

His story shows why he sided with the forces of chaos against the Aesir who treated him less than unkindly. In this way, it is likely meant to show that he is not a “villain” but the antagonist of the Aesir’s story. It’s important to note that it isn’t until after he is bound and betrayed that Fenrir actually causes any harm, before this, he lives peacefully amongst the Aesir as a pet of sorts.

Modern Deity Work

As Fenrir is not a “typical” deity, there is no evidence of Fenrir being worshipped in the way that other Nordic deities were; however, he was a popular figure in art due to his involvement in Ragnarök.
