COYOTE: SITTING, STANDING, RUNNING

Coyote is a complex character, enduring a rich history with the human world. For the Navajo/Diné, Coyote is a character of transgressive power, a revered cultural being whose actions are often seen as a reflection of our own human morality. Even in a contemporary sense, they are mischievous instigators, often believed to be an invasive species, challenging the livelihood of rural ranchers and farmlands and city dwellers. But, they have always been a symbiotic creature on the periphery of human civilizations. It’s through this lens, one might consider the coyotes I paint in man-made worlds as a reflection of our own transgressive relationship to the natural world we share with Coyote. In my paintings they can be seen perched on chairs or perhaps a canoe, wandering throughout vacant interiors of contemporary environments. Void of humans in these spaces, each room contains artifacts of our lives, offering clues and questions. Objects/forms and associations of the western imaginations become the resting place for nature’s determined creature on four skinny legs, taking back the places we all too often see only as our own. - Yazzie

LOVE AUs. For thasmin it took me a while to warm up to them just because it’s always weird having a different name for 13 in every fic 😂 but now I love them.

MEET THE RESIDENTS

Here’s a brief introduction to the sims in the three households that we’re going to be playing for this blog! They are all, bar one, born in game to other sims of mine, and they all live in the Culpepper Apartments, within the Spice Market of San Myshuno.

HENDRICK

Will Hendrick

Will is a hopeless, romantic geek, with a love of all things pastel. He’s as dorky as he is adorable, and wants nothing more than to learn everything he can; to become a real renaissance sim.

He has a passion for video games and programming, and hopes his hobbies can turn into something more with a degree in Computer Science at Foxbury Institute.

Luna Hendrick née Olsen

Luna, a genius half-alien, found her soulmatein Will; they were high-school sweethearts who got married not long after they were out of school, and everything just seemed to fall neatly into place.

Due to her love of cats (and generally all animals), in another life she would’ve loved to be a vet. But in this life, she’s planning to work hard to get her Biology degree at Foxbury Institute, where she’ll then go on to become a Doctor; all the while cheered on by her #1 supporter, Will.

She's everything. He's just Ken Will.

Beth is Will's twin sister, and definitely the more outgoing of the two. Ambitious and self-assured, there isn't anything Beth can't do!

First, a Communications degree from Brightchester, then second, the world. With her sunny disposition and gregarious nature, she's here to take on the world with the power of friendship.

However, the one person she might struggle to win over is her new roommate...

Cassandra "Cassie" Goth

Everyone's heard of the Goth family, but Cassie's the first from this Ancient Bloodline to present with any spellcasting ability in centuries.

This gloomy recluse may find that she has a hard time hiding her abilites from her roommate, who is eager to know more about the creative girl she went to school with.

Her bookwormish nature means that she's perfectly suited to a life learning spellcraft and sorcery.

Lily might've only been born a few seconds before her twin sister, Rosa, but that hasn't stopped her from fully embracing the role of oldest sibling.

While her perfectionism often means she clashes with her youngest sister's goofy nature, her innate goodness refuses to let that come between them.

Bright and outgoing with a passion for learning, she's looking forwards to getting her Psychology degree and hopefully becoming a Teacher!

Rosa Giles

The night to Lily's day, the second half of this double act is Rosa, who's tastes lean towards all things creative.

A lover of art and of music, she's planning to get her degree in Fine Art from Britechester to help her on her way to becoming a musical genius.

Yasmin Giles

And last but certainly not least, comes the youngest of all; the freewheeling goofball, Yazzie.

Cheerful and self-assured, nothing gets her down, least of all her sisters disapproval of her laidback approach to life.

She has no immediate plans for the future, but figures that University sounds like a fun deal. Who knows what she'll do there, but she'll have a laugh doing it!
