I think this could be about Vegas. Putting Pete as a prisoner but also his own self too? Vegas is a prisoner of his family heritage, trauma and mafia life but Vegas puts himself in the cage where no one else can reach. He doesn't think he deserves anything, love or affection. His own thoughts are sabotaging him. He needs to heal the wound he inflicted on Pete and himself. More actually on himself. How long did he battle with emotions through physical pain to distract himself? He will burn many bridges before he gets there. And with his sharp tongue he will push Pete away to .. do what he will in the next chapter lol

This one made me think, did Vegas or Pete ever cried in your fic? We know well that series Vegas is a little pitiful meow meow cry baby. Cause I don't remember if they ever did, and if they didn't.. will they in the future?

I'm not gonna lie. I love unhinged psychopath Vegas but I also love his soft and broken side in the series too.

The scene where Vegas and Pete cried at the same time, alone, after the safehouse. It's one of my favorite scenes. And the significance of food there too!

hello again!! and thank you (i will add it to my to listen playlist ;) now) oh yes i totally agree vegas is very much a prisoner of his own heritage and traumas and also the circumstances hes also created for himself. he is definitely self sabotaging but the worst part is that he fully believes that he has no control over it- that him screwing things up is just inevitable. he is definitely doing his best to heal the harm that he inflicted on pete and himself tbh but yeah healing is not a straight line and he is absolutely going to screw up before he gets there!

vegas has cried in the fic (during the high tensions and angst and grief of the pool scene) but pete is a bit of a tougher nut to crack- i think he might have teared up a little when he first went home to his grandmother shellshocked from the hell he just crawled out of (but my memory is terrible i could be wrong lmao) theres no current scenes i have planned with pete crying currently- but who knows theres so many extra moments that havent come into my brain yet we might all be surprised!

oh yeaaaaah this is the moment where vegas let him go right??? and they were both really emotional! didnt really play out the same way because pete escaped in my fic but honestly who knows- their emotional confrontations are always pretty feeling heavy so we could possibly have a similar kind of emotional scene - pete might definitely be in the right headspace for it now that his house has been destroyed. i think once they're alone again (and safe) they're both going to process a lot of these things together.

(Still can’t believe I totally forgot about it yesterday, and it was mentioned in Capri too! One of my favorite parts!😱😱) Even though technically (please correct me if i’m wrong) ABO was created so Dean Winchester could logically get pregnant in English fics, I sometimes love the more Asian take on it: as in even in the real world, as soon as men can produce children too, the ones who could do that (like omegas in ABO) would immediately be degraded in the social hierarchy to becoming “women”. It’s a very widely used background in fics from Asian writers thus making me love a lot of fics with very strong omega characters, the whole “I am an omega but I am as strong as you(his future magnificent alpha mate). ”

“male can present as alphas or stay betas ;people born female can present as omegas or stay betas” So there is no female alphas. But if the world consists of male alphas + male betas +female betas+ female omegas, Charles is a male omega?

I just checked the 2024 calendar so if the baby (yeah!) is conceived in June 2024, it looks like it’s going to happen in Austria? (June races are in Canada, Spain and Austria) At first I thought it was going to be in Monaco(late May) at home? (Why am I sticking to the real calendar when talking about characters in fiction having babies lol). I suppose too much is happening for them in Austria seriously hahahha.

You also mentioned that their baby was born early, the amount of stress for Max??? Did they speed all the way to the hospital in their Ferrari with Max “threatening” Charles their baby girl is most definitely not to be delivered in a Ferrari of all cars? Hahahhahahha

hahahah yeaaaaah sorry, im definitely breaking the a/b/o form a lot in this fic!! i think it's really only loosely an a/b/o fic in the first place tho--im using that as a way to explore gender, and it's become a pretty good vessel for that! there are a lot of expectations in a/b/o about how different genders are supposed to act and i KNOW thats why people like it.....it's just really fun to flip that on its head and poke at how at the end of the day they're all just people and biology doesnt dictate who they are dfjkdfkjdfjkdfk like am i doing it right? no. am i having fun? yes

and definitely! Im not asian so i can't really speak for that, i just knew from the start that certain countries would have different ideas about gender than others (just like it is in our world) and japan happened to be one of them. i do like the way it flips the script though, and you're definitely right about that meaning omegas can be stronger than alphas. it's kinda emphasizing that there's really no one truth about who anyone is and everything is fluid, especially the dynamics between two people. that's the whole bottom line with that scene with yuki, too--he thought alphas were super different but they're really kinda the same as anyone else. As for the bit about dean winchester, I have no idea if youre right but it doesn't sound wrong ;)

and iiiiii do not knowwwwww to be honestttttttttt. not sure how mating works yet. We'll see! I think it can kind of be done whenever but there are probably some sort of requirements about hormones or some shit like that, like it probably relies on oxytocin or something so if there's not enough happy calm hormones being released then it wont take?? or something like that?? cause its basically the ultimate oxytocin bond right? its possible im getting too scientific about this but idk. cause in a lot of a/b/o it basically works like magic to the point people can start reading minds after and idk if thats really the direction im going to be going with this, but it's not just a bite either. we'll see we'll see, i need to figure it out still

i love loki's POV: he's SEEN things, he knows how HIS life ends, and how he'd like his life to continue. i don't think he's "good" or "bad" but he understands the chaos that the multiverse would bring–– he is a man who would rather know all the cards before making a decision, but because of his history... to other's it's perceived as cunning and backstabbing.

i understand slyvie's POV: her life was taken from her by the TVA!! this guy!!– she literally grew up in apocalypses, she hasn't felt warmth or camaraderie in decades. she does "trust" loki, but she is still in experienced in creating/nurturing these relationships, since she's been on her own. so she will pursue her own goals and revenge above all else. it's all she knows and she's already lost without it.

their kiss was.......... weird. i can see it as slyvie using it to get the upperhand and also apologizing and saying goodbye in one swoop??? but???? i like don't want their relationship to be real. i think i most prefer it as a platonic mirror/sibling partnership, as literal partners. the 'romance' of it is kinda ick to me????

who makes the bed: I would say generally it's Diego. Diego seems more neat than Johnny and also Johnny's in a wheelchair so this usually fails into Diego's lap

who wakes up first: I like to think they're both pretty light sleepers so... This could be either. Diego prefers waking up early though, Johnny likes sleeping in

who has the weird taste in music: Johnny for sure. He probably has the wackiest play list on planet earth. like every other song is a total curveball. I don't think Diego would be a huge music person but it absolutely drives him nuts like "pick a damn genre and stick with it!" "absolutely not" [goes from the vengaboys to three days grace]

who is more protective: They are both equally defensive of one another. A lot of my interpretation of their dynamic is... they have both lost a lot but they have one another, so I think from that standpoint, it would be pretty even. They'd both be really quick to get irrational about it if they thought the other was in danger too

who sings in the shower: Johnny! and he's not quiet either. he makes sure Diego can hear him no matter where he is. I don't think he'd have a bad singing voice by any means, though, so it's not terrible to listen to. it's just obnoxious. they live to annoy one another

Oooooook star wars rise of skywalker thoughts and things I noticed time:

----------------STAR WARS SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT!!---------------------

JOHN WILLIAMS?! Cute to give him a cameo. I FUCKING KNEW I HEARD QUI-GON!!!! I waited through the credits to confirm. Loads of voices talking to Rey apparently even Mace was one of them! Very cute to have it be Maz giving her "boyfriend" the medal. They do use whatever footage they could to have Leia be in it to a good effect. Her death though could really have been better setup or explained like at all really. I love that Mark had long hair like they quickly just pulled him off the Knightfall set for his bits. Little nod (and literal wink) to the audience about hey look Luke finaaaaally learned how to lift that x-wing out of the swamp. Seeing Rey wearing a rebel flight helmet is a very sweet little wrap around to TFA when she's pretending and wearing one in Jakku. Whyyyyyyy have Wedge appear for like one second exactly?? Lando is great actually, he's still got that smile. Though again not used as much as he could have really. I assume they were planning to do more with Jannah being his daughter or something but it all got cut? WOOOOOW Ben doesn't get to be a force ghost lol. Like oh thanks for saving me I guess now fuck off hahahaha. Ion cannon shots aren't green! The audio boom effect when Palpatine does the thing sounded great in the cinema. Duel of the fates was rumoured but it's a no show :(. I imagine that one was just talking about the one trailer they used it in. Hmmmmmm, I get the Han thing to show the change back to Ben and such but you can't help but also feel it was like eh fuck it put him in the movie too *shrug*. Same with the Tantive IV, could have made it do something of benefit in the big fight. It was nice to see her again but another fan service for fan service sake, the film does do that quite a lot more than any other has. I mean hell you could have started or ended the movie with the exact same pan down shot from a new hope showing her, to have it at least tie back in someway and be more effective.

When the Harrison Ford makes a cameo rumour was going around that was also when the Rey is Palpatine's granddaughter was too. I was like yeaaaaah yeaaaah that's not gonna happen.... Well boy was I wrong. I can't help but feel that yeah JJ wanted to finish HIS story as he envisioned in TFA and try to brush as much of TLJ away as he could. I realize some will say well good, but I'm not one of those people. "Oh Leia's signal during the battle of crait didn't get a response" like hmmm I see what you did there JJ. I dunno, but I felt kind of eh at the end. A waste of palpatine is a real shame, dragging him out and having him die almost as quick lessens him. He doesn't do much really. Also having the big emotional story lightsaber fight midway means there's not as much oomph in the last act of the entire skywalker saga. I didn't feel a fucking thing when Ben saved Rey, it was just alright is that it then?

With every star wars movie I come out going WOW I want to see this scene or that scene again right now!! There are very few I can think I'm itching to see again. I might feel different on a rewatch of course but we'll see

Thoughts on PnF Season 3

I’ve actually finished Phineas and Ferb season 3 a few days back, and am now in the middle of season 4. All in all, WOW! I’m really impressed at how they ramped up the quality of the episodes. While season 2 episodes ranged from ‘okay to great’, season 3 episodes turned it to ‘great to amazing’.

Besides the increase in animation quality, they’re also playing around with the formula a lot more. Like how some episodes Candace never even tries busting the boys, or even joining them, or the episode focusing on other characters.

It’s also neat how other characters have bits of development. Like Norm being a complete sweetheart. or some of the Fireside girls being differentiated, or even Jeremy and Stacy. It’s honestly kind of a bummer that Jeremy and Stacy don’t get to appear more in future episodes when they’ve been more prominent at the start of the season.

Monty as the newest addition to the show is alright. He fills the niche of competent human agent in O.W.C.A. I like him a lot more when he’s not being developed as Vanessa’s love interest (though I think Monty and Carl are cute together)

Also, remember me mentioning season 2 had a lack of adult jokes due to S&P meddling? Well, never mind that for season 3 lol.

Some brief thoughts on other episodes under the cut:

Canderemy:  Stacy’s got a point that Candace does bring up Jeremy a lot when she’s not trying to bust the boys. It’s totally a friend thing for her to mess with Candace by pretending she doesn’t know the two were joined though.

Candace Disconnected: The true millennial or gen Z horror story: Your phone’s broken and you have no way to replace it...unless you have genius siblings to make you a new one.

Magic Carpet Ride: Lawrence being so accepting of the way the boys defy the laws of physics and just enjoying spending time with the kids is so dang wholesome. Also, wow, Doof’s backstory here is just painful after watching Gravity Falls. While Doof is similar in a lot of ways to Stan, here we see that he’s in the same position as Ford where a very important project of his got ruined by his brother’s carelessness. And then Roger spent twenty years restoring Doof’s painting... Just. OUCH. If Stan and Doof met, this would prolly be one thing they’d have an argument about.

Phineas and Ferb Interrupted: I love that Linda spends time willingly with Candace this episode because she wants them to bond. Also Perry’s face when he realizes Doof’s Inator hit PnF was priceless, especially how this is one of the few times Perry doesn’t mess around to bust Doof because of the boys being in trouble.

A Real Boy: I think of this more as a dark comedy. I’m thinking the reason Doof doesn’t treat Norm right is prolly a mix of Doof not being too attached to his Inators since it gets destroyed all the time, and him designing Norm to look kind of like Roger makes Doof more predisposed to be mean to Norm.

Escape from Phineas Tower: Gotta love the moment of PnF asking the others if they want to go to the death trap tower and them going “Yeaaaaah, nope!”.

Ferb Latin: Seriously, Linda and Lawrence alone in the Sensory Deprivation Tank? How did this get past the censors?

A Phineas and Ferb Family Christmas: This episode works as a half-loving/half-mocking tribute to tacky network-mandated Christmas specials. The best joke is getting a Celebrity Guest Star to sing a song and never letting them sing anything.

Tri-Stone Area/  Doof Dynasty / Excaliferb / Phineas and Ferb and the Temple of Juatchadoon: Just bundling these together as a bunch of specials that are loving homages to different types of shows/genres. It’s cool how well PnF work with just about any genre.

Monster from the Id:  Candace being a neurosis and anxiety-riddled mess in her mind is so relatable. Also this is one of the few episodes we get hints of Candace and Buford being unlikely friends.

The Remains of the Platypus:  What. The. Fuck. This remains the most insane PnF episode ever. It’s GREAT!

Meapless in Seattle: Knowing that this was just a bunch of unrelated scenes made for a fake trailer that went on to be a full episode is awesome. I bet the creators had a hell of a time trying to come up with a series of events that would stitch the entire thing together.

Delivery of Destiny: Now this is a pretty cool concept, basing the entire episode around one of the regular folks in PnF-land. I do feel sorry for poor Paul, sticking with a job he doesn’t feel hot about (even if he did get some new perspective to appreciate it)

The Mom Attractor: While Candace gave the idea to create something that will bust the boys, it’s really heartwarming how it ended in a small party for Linda with Candace getting the credit. Also Lawrence is such a good dad, when Candace asked him what Linda liked he immediately said Candace, Phineas and Ferb.

Cranius Maximus: I was wondering if Buford would keep up the characterization and never give Baljeet a wedgie again after the events of ‘Bully Bromance Break-Up’. Technically, he doesn’t actually do it to Baljeet but to his death machine. And I suppose if you tried to destroy the entire world after you go on a power trip from a brain-enhancing device, the threat of a wedgie is probably kind of deserved. But yeah, it looks like Buford has dropped giving Baljeet wedgies!

Sipping with the Enemy: Man, Perry is an absolute friend this episode, covering for Vanessa like that. Also hipsters being treated as cool folks is hilarious considering what people think of hipsters nowadays.

Tri-State Treasure: Boot of Secrets:  Fun as the A-plot was, I do feel sorry for Candace going through all that trouble to get the memorabilia she wanted, only for The Mysterious Force to screw her over in the end. Seriously, OUCH.

Doofapus: This has to be up there as one of the “this is so wrong” episodes. Doof turning himself into a platypus was bad enough, but then Candace got turned into a friggin’ puddle. By comparison, Buford keeping life-sized moulds of all his friends is tame. Also hey, Buford considers Candace his friend!

Where's Perry?: I’m a huge sucker for Perry being so caring to PnF so this episode hit me right in the heart. Just one big awwwwww. Also, Evil Carl’s biker outfit is so fab~ Also scarily competent. This is what, the second or third time another character got turned evil and proved WAY more competent at it than even Doof? And yeah, Carl STILL being an unpaid intern for all his services is pure evil. Doof Was Right!!!

Road to Danville: Perry and Doof are the best of friends. Seriously, Perry doing the chestbump and pointing at Doof made me teary-eyed. Also, it’s been pointed out that Perry and Phineas did the same thing in PnF: Across the 2nd Dimension, so it just highlights how important Doof is to Perry as well. Also Doof is an amputee with titanium arms. ...What?!

This Is Your Backstory: Despite being a clipshow episode, the fact that Doof gets defeated by being reminded of his friendship with Perry had me smiling.

Blackout!: This was actually just a merely Great episode. It just SEEMS worse only because the past few episodes preceding it were all pretty fantastic. I really liked how setting the entire episode in a blackout was pretty much an excuse for the artists to take it easy and not have to do much work haha.

So I was going to rename this a “hatewatch” now that I’ve gotten to a whole season I hadn’t seen before, but let’s be honest. None of the Pokedex entries mention how a Volcarona acts when it has children, so I guess I can make it up? The entries seem to indicate that it will help people when they need it so I’m saying it’s a good parent. 

Maybe when Guzma’s in Unova, him and Anabel are looking for something (since he doesn’t have enough experience to go on solo missions yet), but sooner or later, they come across another disaster.

A Volcarona is going on a somewhat rampage, setting fires everywhere, etc. Of course Guzma has to stare at it in awe for a little bit. He’s heard about Volcarona and done some research on it but has never seen it in person before! Anabel has to pull him out of the way of a Fire Blast. They have to stop that thing before it destroys the nearby town and anything else in its path!

But Volcarona shouldn’t go ballistic for no reason. From what he’s read, it’s usually a very secluded Pokemon. Whatever upset it must be big, and from the way its acting, it seems to be looking for something. And what would a Pokemon be looking for so frantically that a usual recluse comes out of hiding?

Guzma finally gets it. He tells Anabel he thinks he knows how to stop it and asks where the thing came from. Anabel says it most likely came from Reversal Mountain, the Unova region’s volcano.When she asks him what his plan is, he says that the Volcarona lost something, and maybe it’s still hidden in there somewhere. He asks her to keep helping out around town and keep the thing busy while he goes and looks.

(Yes I know the Volcarona in game is found in the Relic Castle, but that never made any sense to me so work with me here.)

Guzma is nervous because going into a volcano is pretty bad news for him. Only Golisopod would stand a chance in there since it’s part water type, and Anabel is a little nervous about it too. But she believes in Guzma, and if anybody would know how to stop this thing, it would be him. She tells him to please hurry and please be careful, then they go their separate ways.

Reversal Mountain sucks but Golisopod carries him through, and Guzma’s never been more proud of his partner. Luckily they don’t have to physically go inside the volcano before finding what they’re looking for. Guzma finds one of the tiniest Pokemon he’s ever seen (besides Joltik); a tiny baby Larvesta that must have just hatched. It’s crying and Guzma reasons it must have fallen out of the nest. That’s why the mother is going on a rampage, because she couldn’t find one of her children. 

The Larvesta is scared of him at first, spitting weak fire at him (making Golisopod angry but Guzma holds him back), but eventually Guzma tempts it with a berry and gets it to come out of hiding. Guzma thinks back to how he met his Wimpod and he kinda feels a bit nostalgic.

Eventually the Larvesta lets Guzma pick it up and it instantly gets comfy in his arms. When they make it back to Anabel (I guess it’s around Undella Town? I’m not super familiar with Unova because I didn’t care for Gen V all that much lol), Guzma shows the Volcarona that he got her infant back. The Volcarona is very happy, checking over her child, and the Larvesta is happy too. When they’re ready to go back, the both of them look at Guzma silently, as if thanking him, before taking off. 

Anabel congratulates him, saying she knew he could do it. Guzma’s kinda flattered but refuses to show it. He’s not used to praise. 

After a few days, the two of them finish their business in Unova and are about to leave by plane in Lentimas Town, but a cry from above makes them stop. The Volcarona from before flies down to them. They’re both ready for a battle, but the Larvesta from before crawls down from its mother’s back and goes towards Guzma, nuzzling his leg.

Guzma is shocked, of course. He doesn’t quite understand what they want, but the Volcarona is looking at him expectantly. Nervously he leans down and pets the fire bug (it’s much bigger than it was a few days ago, but bugs do grow pretty fast). The Larvesta seems to react favorably and crawls up into his arms once more. 

Anabel thinks it’s adorable, saying it seems like the Larvesta had taken a liking to him and doesn’t want to leave. Guzma finally gets it.

“You...want to come with me?”

The Larvesta makes a noise that seems like it’s pleased. Guzma looks to the Volcarona. “And you’re okay with this?”

It doesn’t move, but from the lack of reaction, it doesn’t seems to mind that Guzma is holding its child. Still nervous, Guzma sets the Larvesta down, but once again it crawls back up to him and refuses to leave his arms. Anabel says that pretty much proves it. 

Guzma doesn’t know what to say, but inside he’s really happy. Again the nostalgic feeling of catching his Wimpod comes back before shaking it away. “I’ll take good care of her,” he says to the Volcarona. It seems to react to this, flapping its wings and sending out beautiful and harmless sparks. Guzma takes that as a good sign. 

It comes closer, nudging its child affectionately one last time before flying back to its home. Guzma holds out an Ultra Ball to the Larvesta and it happily goes inside, the ball not even shaking once. 

Whew! That got a lot longer than I thought it would, but that’s the idea for right now!

6. Does your character have recurring themes in their dreams?

Hm, I tend to think she usually doesn’t have dreams, but when she did, I bet they’d be a lot more realistic and not so surreal. I can easily see her having a lot of dreams related to her daily routine and stuff, or arguing with people about weird things. I can also see her having a lot of dreams where she’s the only one there, still going through her routine in a completely abandoned world. She probably never mentions any of her dreams to anybody

7. Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares?

Oh! This is funny because he comes from a comedy-horror thing, so yeah! A looooot of it involves being in the woods or there’s a strong presence of trees or forestry. Usually it’s giving a futile attempt to escape. Running away from something comes up a lot.

Awwwww yeaaaaah!

So Skye kinda sees Heiwa as a mother-figure very lightly since they can’t interact so often, but she really looks up to her (Heiwa is Gill’s mom) 

Marth had a father-figure in Zachariah who is in way backstory territory (he’s super dead) but it was the greatest thing ever and I love it

Then Marth goes on to be a father-figure to Kydin -he adopts him keh- and kind of to Gill as well

Kydin kind of father-figures Simon quite a bit too.

Charles is hardcore the father-figure to Ariella, and he used to be that way with James too but semi ‘disowned’ him later on.

In some of my not-canon thoughts, there’s a kid that James semi father-figures as well. Idk if it’ll ever be canon but it’s great. 

I’m avoiding going into detail cuz that’s a lot of relations, but if you want to know any details just ask for the one you want to know ^^

5. On an average day, what can be found in your character’s pockets?

Hm, Kydin is the least prepared guy ever, honestly. He’ll usually carry a little bit of money, but that’s like /it/.

His friend gave him a bag to carry stuff with him lately, and so far he’s legit just filled it with stuff for cooking while travelling ^^ ; and sometimes little gifts for Simon. So like, a small pan, some dried herbs, that’s mostly it.

Now that I think about it, his friend also put a sort of first aid type of thing in there, so he has that, but he’s mostly forgotten about it (Out of everyone he needs it the most though. Daring kiddo)

Sun, sea and shithead

Hello moto. Another very... Out there title eh? It is that time again. I am here and I have lots of news for you. By lots I mean, quite little really but I have to blog before I get to the black mountain?? What is this black mountain I speak of? Ah for those Spanish speaking whizzes reading this you'll know the translation of this is Montenegro. The country. You know? You've probs heard very little of it. I know literally nothing but it is a country I am excited for and Alina has been itching to visit for months. We are literally quaking in our boots in anticipation of maybe the greatest country in the world. Ok maybe it won't be the best but expectations are high. Yay. Also another border crossing, woooo. There's been a lot of border crossings, occupational hazard of going round relatively small countries. Also, side note. I didn't get a leaving stamp from Bosnia hmmm. Firstly why did I get one in the first place? We're both in the EU. Brexit hasn't happened yet mate. Stop discriminating. God damn it. Alina didn't get a stamp, I did. It made No sense. I can only assume they thought I'd try and stay past brexit and become an illegal immigrant. Yet I've left so ha. They lose, I win... OK. Yeah but then when we went on to Croatia they drove straight past the border crossing without stopping, like at all. They just sped thru. Hmmmm. The inconsistency between border crossings has been an unfathomable mystery I've been probing in my mind. Some they dont stop you. Some they look at your passport. Some you stay on the bus. Some you get off. And some they have border guards shouting at you, not pointing any fingers (Serbia). So I hope this one I won't be pulled up for having no exit stamp. That would seriously dampen my trip. And be an irritating time and monetary inconvenience. #Pray4George. Anyhow, you'll find this out after my next post. Ill find out in an hour... For now you just get to hear more about our beautiful, relaxing, chilled out coastal camping time yeaaaaay. So we stayed in neum for four nights, where I posted my last blog from. I can't remember all I said last time so please excuse if I sound like a broken record and my repetition kills your brain cells. So this was the first use of the k mart tent and SLEEPING BAG ONESIE since leaving oz. It was emotional for me. And epic. We didn't put the lid on the tent so the roof was just a mozzie net. Breezy and you got lits of natural light. Plus being a three man tent there was lots of space. Alina even got to experience the beauty of the onesie first hand. A prestigious moment that I imagine will stay with her for the rest of her life, although as it was 30 degrees she didn't use it to its fullest potential unlike in the arctic conditions of central Australia at night. In the immortal words of Dwayne "the rock" Johnson: you're welcome. The campsite was nice although it had one toilet and one shower. Icky. Smelly. Gross. Wet. Feral. These are just an array of words I would use to describe them. Especially when there were 40 people staying there. Aside from this we had fun. Cheap, beers and lots of cards. There was one game we played, a lot. And those of you familiar with it will know from the title. Those not, will think my profanities are taking the best of me. Shithead. What a game. One I learnt as a wee infant with one Ashley beddows, then more innocently known as the magic game, it took hold of me and has been a staple of my life, especially while travelling or when skiing with the cousins. It is now also in Alina's lifeblood. We may have played over 100 maybe 200 games in like a week. Addiction. It is a cruel thing. One that we do not understand and can often underestimate until we are taken under its grips. Like meth addicts desperately looking for their next hit, Scrounging money for a few hours high, we scoured the streets for cards and when we found them we sprinted back to camp to let the games commence. We havent looked back. We could be anywhere now, we can't stop staring at those cards and threeing each other. Machu pichu? No thanks I'd rather win at shithead. We have an issue. Please. Call social services. We are addicts. We need help. We need our family. Mum. Dad. Hannah. Jessica. Rowland. If you're out there reading this please, hear my call and get us help. Lol. Ok neum was nice we went to the stone beach each day searching for shade. Its very hot here but the shade is perfect. Only issue we aren't the only ones desperately seeking shade. Everyone was, it was like some kind of teisted pilgrimmage where the shade was the statue of a virgin mary we pray to to cure our illnesses. There were however, some tanning machines who just took the sun in all its glory and power. There was limited shade but we generally found it as we cosyed up next to randoners, we sat on their feet and straddled their lilos. It was funny. The sea was gorgeous though, warm yet refreshing from the midday heat. The beach was also the ideal spot for some German lessons which have been under way (sporadically), for a few weeks now. Lots of vocab. I'm building my repertoire before my fluency comes. A zommershpraser for example is a freckle, it translates to summer sprinkle - cute. Only isuue is as its all oral my spelling is atrocious. Alina is a good teacher though. So give it a week and I'll be writing sonnets and reading ancient German texts. So apart from cards and tanning there isn't much to report from our time in neum (we're both very tanned tho, yeaaaaah baybey). Be jealous. Oh yes one more thing. There was some kind of travelling christian cult in our campsite who look to "help" disadvantaged, vulnerable kids in Bosnia. Hmmm. Sketchy. They even tried to convert both of us simultaneously in German and English. Very amusing. My guy, also from Guildford, lol, very random, that was his in by the way, how he began the conversion. He failed. He cited the illuminati and giants and conspiracy theories in his "sermon". It was hard to take him seriously before, this made it impossible. They both failed we are not a part of their cult (you're welcome). Amusing nonetheless though. Alina's "messiah" was an ex heroin addict who claimed the gift of god was better than any high he'd ever got, lol good joke. The simultaneous looks on our faces showed our disbelief in what they were trying to do. An outsider, a bystander that is would have had a chuckle I reckon. So the second part of our coastal adventure was the immense Dubrovnik. This is a city I have heard about for years from a variety of people. But never really thought about. Then when I found out we'd be going straight past it I pushed for us to make a stop there, Alina agreed. Only issue. It is super touristy and super expensive. Cheapest hostel €25, urgh. 1 night it is then. So we embarked upon our 24 hours in Dubrovnik, the UNESCO world heritage site. There is one thing for certain. That title is fully deserved. While a little part of me wants to revisit and rewrite the immortal "we h8 tourists" post from vietnam on Christians blog, my overwhelming desire (for once) is to talk about its beauty and the awe we (I especially) felt. I say I especially because of my obsession with walls, history and battles. Its like age of empires (the game I used to play? Or black and white 2 (another game I used to play) or game of thrones or lord of the rings. It is sick. So its an old town, very rich and is completely surrounded by the impeccable, huge, And fully preserved 2km wall. Every single inch of ground within these walls, that were built from the 1300s to the 1600s, is being used and covered in stone. Game of thrones was filmed there, it quite literally felt like being in GoT or LoTR as you wandered around the tiny alleyways that were super steep up the hill or as you leaned against the huge 20ft high walls. It was immense, Beautiful and unbelievably impressive. It was awesome, another few days would have been nice but one day was enough to see it all and experience the city. We also went to the small little beach next to the old town that was split in two. Free beach and the bar's paid beach. These halves were the same size but while the free part was rammed, no space to lie down fully the paid half had maybe 30 people on its 100 sun loungers. Ridiculous. It was a nice lil beach tho, sea still lush and a nice view of the city. We also went on a nice boat trip round the city and the island. Very relaxed and a nice view of the city. It was a good day spent and funnily enough the best view we got was on the bus just now on the way out as it climbed a fee hundred metres up and we saw right down over Dubrovnik. A successful few days for us as we head to Montenegro. I look forward greatly to regaleing the tales of this great journey. Bye bye. G. PS. I got thru the border fine.
