Dominio africano en el maratón y 21k de Rio de Janeiro

Fuente: CBAT Los africanos volvieron a dominar la 21ª edición de la Maratón Internacional de Río de Janeiro y de la Media Maratón de Río/Claro, realizada este domingo (11/06) y sábado (10/06). Los dos eventos recibieron el Sello de Oro y los Permisos de la Confederación Brasileña de Atletismo (CBAt) y tuvieron los hermosos paisajes de la Ciudad Maravillosa como telón de fondo de las dos competencias. En la prueba masculina, el keniano Josphat Kiprotich batió el récord de la competencia, con 2:13:29. La anterior fue del brasileño Justino Pedro da Silva, con 2:13:31. Justino, bicampeón de la competición, no completó los 42,195 km del recorrido, con salida y llegada en Aterro do Flamengo. El brasileño mejor ubicado fue el paulista Altobeli Santos da Silva, quien inicia su andadura en los maratones, luego de una exitosa trayectoria en las pistas de atletismo, donde fue medallista de oro en los Juegos Panamericanos de Lima-2019 y finalista olímpico. en los 3.000 m con obstáculos en Río-2016. Altobeli terminó en cuarto lugar, con 2:19:53. “La carrera fue muy complicada. Esperaba un poco más, pero lamentablemente no tuve la pierna para seguir el ritmo de los líderes cuando se fueron. A partir del kilómetro 35 comencé a sentir dolor, pero eso es parte. Es mi tercer maratón y creo que todavía soy muy joven en este campo, todavía tengo mucho que aprender y experiencia que ganar", comentó Altobeli. God of Donkeys, Disrupt Us (prayer)

A prayer from Sarah Bessey in Canada.

God of donkeys and palm branches, of people who betray and people who hold fast, of holy weeks that bring us to the depths of suffering and the heights of resurrection, draw near to us.

Disrupt us, God.

Disrupt all the ways we’ve adopted and adapted to the world’s priorities, powers, and principles. As the light disrupts the dark, disrupt us. We can hear your. new world breathing, about to be born. And we claim our spot in your kin-dom, God, right with the liars and the thieves, the betrayers and the silent ones, the faithful and the stalwart.

May the rocks never have to cry out on our watch, may our mouths be filled with joy and truth. We want to be a people who can hold space for both our hope and our grief, our disappointment and your disruptions.

We ask for eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to understand what it is your Spirit is saying to the Church in this moment, may we never miss an opportunity to disrupt with you.

Jesus, retell the whole story from the inside out. 

Retell us from the inside out.

In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, One God and Mother of us all.
