kiss meme: 16, 32, 45, 47. for osfyr and chef’s pick of partner. also these were randomly generated so i do not actually know what these are as i send this
you givea me the rights.... hohoho
readmore for the rights of anyone scrolling past this!
16. One person pouting, only to have it removed by a kiss from the other person.
It’s only right, of course it is, that Osfyr should be doing this. It’s their old friend they’re talking about, of course they want to find him. But as he’s watching them do the final check on their pack, Xerxes can’t help but be a little sad.
“It’s hard to go from Constant Boyfriend to No Boyfriend, you know?”
Osfyr jumps and looks over at the doorway to see him leaning there, a smile cracking their face. “Babe, I’m hardly leaving you forever. We can talk, like, SO many times per day, for a whole twenty-five words each!”
Xerxes’s lips quirk briefly before descending back into a pout. “But I don’t know how long you’ll take to find them,” he begins to cross the room, “and besides, doll, I’d much rather have you here...” His hands brush Osfyr’s waist and settle on their hips, but they turn away, laughing.
“X, why don’t I call Yelkian and ask him to stay here for a bit if you’ll be so lonely without me?”
Their voice is teasing, but Xerxes’s frown only deepens. “But I want you.”
Osfyr’s heart flutters a little at the sight and the sentiment, and all they can think to do in response is plant a solid kiss on Xerxes’s lips. They can feel his pout smooth out under their care, and by the time they break apart he’s smiling too.
“I’ll be home when I can. I’m only going off to find them in the first place, it’ll be easier to visit them when I have more to go on than drugged-out rambling. And I’ll call often.”
Xerxes’s smile is soft and loving. “Say hi to Drago and Jennifer for me, alright?”
Osfyr breaks away to buckle their bag shut before kissing him again, briefly. “I will.”
32. A kiss so passionate, so perfect - that after they part, neither person can open their eyes for a few moments afterwards.
They were going to have to fight, of course– no way around it. He’d been pretty sure they were going to win as well, but there’s never certainty in these things. He trusts Osfyr– enough to listen to them when they told him he wouldn’t be safe in the city, although he’s not sure he believes it. So he’s been hunkering down with their family for a time, with various degrees of tension– the parents and one brother have been mostly ignoring him, while the sister and the other brother are much friendlier. Still, it’s been a hard few days.
It’s a lovely late spring evening, and Yelkian is inspecting the burned-out shell of a house in the dying light when he hears a thump behind him. Whirling around, hands already in a casting pose, he sees Osfyr crouching on the ground awkwardly and looking up at him, relief and joy evident all over their face, and his shoulders relax.
“Well?”
“We won.”
And suddenly they’re crossing the short distance to him in a single bound, and pressing their lips to his, and all the air leaves his lungs in a single instant. Their hands come up to grab his face and keep him there and he’s not objecting, just rests his own on the small of their back finally finally finally and hangs on for dear life. When they pull back, their face is wet with tears, and for once in their life, they’re speechless. Their forehead presses against his, and the sounds of the grassland at night hit him all at once– they’re surrounded by a full complement of crickets. He doesn’t want to move from this spot.
“Hey,” they say, and it sounds like a promise.
“Hey,” he says back, and it’s a witting response– yes, that was alright, I’d like to do that every day until I die or you do.
They seem to understand, and they’re certainly not rushing to reunite with their family, so Yelkian is content simply to stand there in that crumbling town, feeling more stable than he has in years.
45. Kisses exchanged as they move around, hitting the edges of tables or nearly tripping over things on the floor before making it to the sofa, or bed.
The sounds of the party fade in the background, replaced with hurried footsteps and labored, stair-climbing breaths. “How the hell do you manage all these stairs every day?”
“I got used to it, weaksauce, and now I have these to show for my troubles.” Jupiter lifts her dress just enough to show off her strong calf, and Osfyr immediately misses a step and falls, because they are a Disaster. Jupiter stops and offers a surprisingly firm hand up off the ground, which Osfyr accepts graciously. “Don’t worry, though, we’re almost there, and I intend to have you much more than fall down at my feet.”
As Osfyr hoped, as soon as the door closes to Jupiter’s private quarters, they’re bracketed against it and being kissed senseless. One of her forearms is braced on the door by their head, and one hand is on the side of their neck, thumb stroking their cheek. They gasp, and squirm, but she’s got them tight, only pulling back to drop a line of kisses down their jaw and bite across their collarbone.
“As lovely– oh– as this is, unless you intend– hnnn– to have me against this door, we should probably move.” She responds with a wicked grin and a deliberate grind of her hips into theirs, and their eyes flutter closed. “To the bed, Jupiter.”
Her eyes twinkle in the lamplight. “I’m terribly sorry. Of course. Right away, oh saviour of Boralus–”
She’s cut off by another kiss, Osfyr planting their hands on her hips and walking her backwards towards... something. Osfyr’s never been here before, is the thing, and it’s sort of hard to navigate someone else’s house when 1. The lighting is practically nonexistent, and 2. Most of your field of view is filled with said person’s eyes. There’s a reason people tend to close their eyes while kissing. All this to say, Jupiter’s back hits another doorframe with an oof sound, and that’s just fine. Now it’s her turn to gasp as red marks are sucked into her neck, hands tangled in thick hair.
It doesn’t last long, though. “Osfyr– Osfyr this is the kitchen. I’m sure there are better places– fine, I’ll just show you.” She tries to push them, but they aren’t budging, and in the end she just sort of steers them towards her bedroom still latched to her. Except, then they nip a little at a sensitive spot, and she forgets completely that she was unpacking a  new chest of dresses that morning, and suddenly she’s on the floor with a willing partner under her, eyes wide and panting, and then their hand is on her hip pulling her down and their other hand is on the laces of her dress and maybe the rug will do just fine after all.
Next time, they make it to the bed. The time after that, just the couch, then the bed again, then they make a game of it and aim for the kitchen just for fun.
47. A kiss paired with a tight hug, knocking the breath out of the person being hugged.
Osfyr wasn’t expecting it to break this badly. They’d tagged along last minute on a vacation with Jupiter and Krem, hoping to spark a bit more of a connection with their girlfriend’s boyfriend. They’d gotten attacked on the journey, though, and said boyfriend had been laid flat by, of all things, a dragon– an escaped  “monk” out for revenge. Jupiter had saved the day while Osfyr was busy having a panic attack.
When they finally come back to themself, Jupiter is kneeling over Krem and pouring a healing potion down his throat. He sits up, sputtering a little, and gazes at Jupiter above him, and just wraps his arms around her and buries himself in her shoulder. Osfyr looks on as they try to stop shaking and sobbing. Eventually, they succeed, but they’re still crouched rocking in the dirt, oblivious to the world.
Without much preamble, Krem is kneeling before them, having untangled from Juupiter. “You hurt much? Are you doing better?”
They take a deep, shuddering breath and nod, finally looking up to meet his gaze– the intensity is startling, not least the clear depth of his worry for them, and they can’t help but to surge up, kissing him briefly but mainly wrapping themself around him as tightly as they can manage. He’s muscly enough to do a damn good hug, and Osfyr is also clinging tightly enough to make Krem wince.
“Ouch– bruised rib–”
“Whoops– sorry Krem–”
A shadow looms over the both of them, and Jupiter extends a hand up to each of them. “I’m glad you both got through that, boys.”

if you’re still talking dnd romance- my half elf rogue, Osfyr, has 4 partners- yelkian, an elf sorcerer they’ve been pining for since childhood and was totally their boyfriend for years; Jupiter, a politician’s niece they tried to seduce for intel but she seduced them instead; krem, Jupiter’s white bread bf (we love him), and xerxes, who Osfyr first saw tposing on the back of an npc druid in the shape of an eagle, coming to save their half dead party after a dragon fight.
A POLY ROMANCE! :D That makes me very happy! *~* They sound like a chaotic bunch. I have a lesbian bard in my campaign and the player told me she might go poly simply bc i’ll be throwing so many awesome ladies at her :’D Fingers crossed!
Thanks a lot for sharing!

Hey, you know that 35 d&d questions ask meme? I answered all of them.
This is a long ass post. Be warned. It took up seven and a half pages in google docs. Original post here.
1. A favorite character you have played.
Would have to be Zize Fortier, dragonborn gunslinger. Their tag on this blog is #zize and you can find their bio and info on my character page. Love that bastard!! He’s sweet and bratty and a total delight to play (we are such an OP party, y’all).
2. Your favorite character that someone else has played.
UM UM gonna talk about a few here. To be fair to people I play a *lot* of games with, I’m only gonna  talk about one PC per person.
- The bastard trio in my Wildemount game– @toomanyorphans ’s Nakoria, @overplannedbutunnamednpc ‘s Zier (also an NPC in the campaign Zize is in), and @glasyasbutch ‘s Nissy. They all really suck so bad but in SUCH funny ways. They’re varying degrees of self centered and awful, but we trust each other in this campaign, and those 3 players are SO funny in their RP.
- (RIP) Avri in my Wildemount game. They and Bly named each other,,,,  they were parent and child…… VERY sweet. huge goliath with tiny bird in backpack.
- @bekahdoesnershit ‘s Raini. Zize’s BFF, and her tag on that blog is rich. She’s SUCH a bitch but we love her.
- @bhissar ‘s Saela. She is a dream character for me to DM for– very little fleshed out backstory with room to explore, with still-concrete events in it. Consistent character choices and personality, to the point I can sometimes predict what she’ll do. Very cool aesthetically. And overall? EXTREMELY sweet. Baby, baby bird.
3. Your favorite side quest.
Either the one going on right now in amnesia, where we have to collect brain matter from big powerful elementals, or the stop we made at a family of vampires in Acarnya (the one I played Osfyr in).
4. Your current campaign.
There are five of those, with two on hold.
-Wildemount, aka the Frozen Sick module from Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount (we’re almost done with that, my PC is Bly).
-Amnesia campaign aka high level campaign: we woke up in hell with no memories! PC is Zize.
-Hoard of the Dragon Queen module, near the beginning of that, PC is Pointy.
-Horror campaign, only two sessions so far, but we’re trapped in an alternate dimension carrying out tasks for a creepy dude. PC is Vinny.
-Kithan, where we’re high level monster hunting guild members searching  out ancient artifacts of the gods (campaign based on the Monster Hunter games), PC is Topaz.
-Silas, party is currently trying to help dragons free themselves and stop a… dude? No spoilers! I DM. On hold because I had too many campaigns going at once.
-Silas v2: extremely vaguely based on the plot of season one of the web series Carmilla. A tweaked version of the first arc the Silas party went through. On hold because it was played in person at school.
5. Favorite NPC.
I don’t really have any NPCs in my campaigns that I’m super attached to, except– Nikeo, a goliath rogue PC in Silas 1, had many adopted children. Three of them– kobolds– sometimes stand on each others’ shoulders, put on a long coat, and help out around their parent’s store. They’ve named themselves Koby.
As for favorite NPCs in campaigns I’ve played, I can think of… a lot. The first is Laurel, a blue dragonborn loner type who followed Osfyr and friends in Acarnya. They were kind of broody and dark, but they really drew me in. They were the first NPC we really talked to– they were sitting on top of the post office laughing at the mob scene of people protesting not getting their mail delivered.
I’d also pick Osfyr’s partners in that campaign– Yelkian, a backstory love interest I came up with, a flamboyant soft sorcerer. Jupiter, politician’s niece, who took pity on Osfyr’s attempts to seduce information out of her and let them succeed on both counts (seduction and information). Xerxes, extra AF rogue with a big loving family, who swept in after a fight on the back of an eagle-wildshaped Brysth (npc druid).
There’s a blue dragon in the HOTDQ campaign that we don’t know much about. I really enjoyed the way @dungeonsanddraconicqueer played him. He’s just a dude! Lex’s warlock made a Deal with him to leave the town alone. We still don’t know the implications of that. It’s fine, guys.
And then, there’s Stewart the Skin Steward, a servant of False Mystra. Fun dude.  Very cavalier– nigh, enthusiastic!– about the fact that his entire city was made of skin. Something of a skin connoisseur, in fact!
6. Favorite death (monster, player character, NPC, etc).
Saela, hands down. She got breathed on by a dragon, yo. We then had to stop playing for 4-5 months because a player lost access to the Internet. I wrote a vision/speech from her warlock patron, the Raven Queen, the night she died, and basically didn’t touch it until I read it out in game. It involved a confession that the Queen was  tired of being a god, and showing Saela all the lives she’d touched. Then we used Matt Mercer’s rez rules for her. She came back– but it was her choice.
7. Your favorite downtime activity.
Fucking tinkering dude!!! I don’t get to do it enough as Zize and that is entirely my fault. @ morgan, eyes emoji
8. Your favorite fight/encounter.
I LOVE creepy shit. There was a train car with people dancing in it, and party members got enchanted to dance along and eat the food,  and the revelers were clearly in pain, and snuffing out a candle caused a reveler to disappear. Creepy shit!
In Kithan, we had to climb a staircase, and we timed it with produce flame which is a 10 minute duration cantrip, and we were climbing for 50 minutes. We started to see things in the edges of our vision. Then someone realized it was an illusion, and it all vanished. It freaked me out so bad.
In amnesia campaign, at level 19, we were traversing a cave, and our shadows started dripping the same black goop we were there to investigate. We killed one and it took down the max hp of the person whose shadow it was, and then they straight up didn’t have a shadow until they long rested. It really freaked us out, realizing the shadows were actually creatures, but they were like CR 1. Really effective use of a low level monster.
9. Your favorite thing about D&D.
The way it has something for everyone… the way it’s brought me so many friends… the way it’s inspired my OC creation like nothing else.
10. Your favorite enemy and the enemy you hate the most.
I’m not sure if this is asking about NPCs I’ve had as enemies, or any monster in D&D canon? The longest campaign I played in didn’t have long term enemies  per se. I’d say I was frustrated with the cultists that ambushed us last session in HOTDQ,  but I didn’t hate them! I just couldn’t seem to hit or dodge them. As for a favorite… probably False Mystra: the demon lord Orcus who’d taken over  the position, and therefore the duties, of Mystra, the god of arcane magic.  We killed it,  but then whoopso!! Our wizard lost her powers.
11. How often do you play and how often would you ideally like to play?
I play an ideal amount, honestly: four times a week, for about 2.5-3 hours a session. HOTDQ Tuesdays, Kithan and horror campaign switching off Wednesdays, Wildemount Thursdays cause we miss CR, Amnesia Sundays.
12. Your in game inside jokes/memes/catchphrases and where they came from.
Amnesia: Yocheved, the party barbarian/full time fish, has a secret third arm and/or a prosthetic ass. Cylthia, the druid, does arson (but actually). Relentless is a Crown paladin, so she puts her fingers in her ears when we do crime/lie. She also has a rod of lordly might that, immediately post amnesia, she made into a 32 foot climbing pole. Yocheved eats pounds and pounds of raw fish for every meal.
Wildemount: just the shenanigans and sabotaging each other that the Bastard Trio get into. Example: Nissy was tasked with buying Zier a cloak for cold weather and purposely got him an  ugly one. Zier then prestidigitated it to be a nicer color.
13. Introduce your current party.
Oh boy, I have 6 of those. Here goes. Keep in mind many of these characters are played and games are DMed by my friends who have OC blogs of their own: Raini and Ayen are bekahdoesnerdshit, Ezra, Nissy, and Roona are glasyasbutch, Horror DM, Lent, Eve, and Nakoria are toomanyorphans, Wildemount DM, Saela, Daecyne, and Cylthia are bhissar, HOTDQ DM is dungeonsanddraconicqueer, and Amnesia DM, Zier, Nyxi, and Sarril are overplannedbutunnamednpc. Not an OC blog, but Yocheved, Avri, Arbor, Thraf, Nikeo, and Whisper are mickgoesabsolutelyhamforbarbie.
Amnesia (Zize): Lent, tiefling paladin, former crownsguard who “fell” (became an oathbreaker), then un-fell when we lost our memories. Cylthia, tiefling/elf druid who can shift between tiefling and elf forms and loves setting things on fire. Yocheved, 14 foot tall nereid (fishfolk) barbarian with a dry sense of humor, is the party parent. And Raini, aasimar wizard, sass machine and Zize’s bff.
HOTDQ. My PC is Pointy. Ezra, quiet human paladin. Theata, moon elf rogue. Freya, sweet (human?) light cleric who sometimes misreads situations. Eve, 13 year old (!!) human warlock who kinda sucks, but like, she’s 13. Nyxi, motherly gnome bard who Is going to adopt Pointy.
Wildemount (Bly): Alene, human barbarian. Quiet and with somewhat of a parent instinct. Some sort of Mysterious Backstory. Delta, aasimar rogue, similarly shady backstory? Unclear. Sticks with Alene. Nissy, drow rune knight, sucks. Zier, drow sorcerer, also sucks. Nakoria, dragonborn warlock, ALSO sucks. (Those three make up the Bastard Trio.) Avri (F for them), goliath bard and Avri’s guardian, died last session by falling on a floor full of knives.
Horror campaign (Vinny): Roona, halfling bard, very impulsive, eats exclusively with her spoon that says ASS, and chills in Vinny’s fanny pack. Ayen, elven teenage warlock with a dark backstory. Sarril, Ayen’s not-dad, half elf beast barbarian who got it from his wife. Arbor, dryad  monk, who wears an all white plague doctor outfit at all times.
Silas v1 (DM), Original party before 1 left and 1 died: Hacka (RIP), human luchador-styled drunken monk. Nikeo (left), goliath rogue with so many adopted children. Inferno, fire genasi paladin/phoenix sorcerer with anger and impulse control issues. Saela, babiest aarakocra warlock of the Raven Queen. Hacka’s player now plays Voda, a stoic water genasi tempest cleric who cast Raise Dead successfully on Saela. Nikeo’s player now plays Whisper, a tabaxi astral soul monk.
Kithan (Topaz): Thraf, monsterborn (universe-compliant dragonborn) barbarian. Very social, very outgoing, very stupid, and very traumatized. Fucks majorly. Daecyne, sweet tiefling druid and Topaz’s good friend. Viosa, aasimar homebrew class I forget the name of, uses her small stature and allure to her advantage. Damur, half-orc eldritch knight, the party’s only braincell.
14. Introduce any other parties you have played in or DM-ed.
Acarnya. My PC was Osfyr. Soraphine, traumatized halfling bard. Azalea, human fighter. Durzuell, haughty high elf sorcerer. James, nerdy half elf wizard. Drago, erratic Russian dragonborn monk. Kairon, slightly edgy ranger/paladin (but we love him).
Nordenheim. My PC was Cap. I will admit: we only played 2 or 3 sessions, so I don’t really remember  most of the other party members except Rory, a fire genasi ranger who almost burned to death.
Silas v2 (hopefully will continue; I DMed): Kysseris IV. Half-elf paladin, uptight. Tower 1-6, warforged wizard who crawled out of the desert and is looking for info on how he was made. Mae “Pock”, gnome rogue, very small and  sweet. Josh, human trickery cleric, kind of an asshole, but in a way that’s funny and hasn’t bled over into IRL annoying.
[school] West Marches campaign (Ner): by the nature of West Marches, there was never a consistent party, but a few stood out to me. Red Foot, a hyperactive kobold sorcerer who’s level 8 against all West Marches odds. Lyra, Great Old One warlock of Tzee’Mhor, an abomination goat that a party I was in accidentally created. Fildo Baggins, divination wizard who can only affect allies whose toenail clippings he has in his vial.
15. Do you have snacks during game times?
Hell yeah babey!!! I mostly play digitally, especially during COVID, and I need something to munch after DMing for a while. Shit’s exhausting.
16. Do you play online or in person? Which do you prefer?
Welp! Online mostly, since everyone I want to play with has the audacity to live far away, and now exclusively online because of COVID.
17. What are some house rules that your group has?
Our Amnesia party is so rich that we just don’t keep track of money. In Kithan, a lot of rules that make characters less powerful are just… abolished (like the bonus action spell rule). (The DM likes super OP characters so she can throw SUPER OP monsters at us.  My character has a necklace that gives 5 additional uses of channel divinity.)
18. Does your party keep any pets?
Nope. No opportunities for them. Zize’s party has a little water snake on the druid’s arm but I doubt that will last very long.
19. Do you or your party have any dice superstitions?
Absolutely. Cursed dice get j a i l.
20. How did you get into D&D? How long have you been playing?
Acarnya got me into d&d, it was my first campaign, and it was happening at the place I lived. I’ve been playing almost 2 years. (Critical Role inspired me to DM)
21. Have you ever regretted something your character has done?
Not sent a fucking letter to say goodbye to their boyfriend before the world-fate-deciding bullshit that was gonna happen and possibly destroy shit. It was fine in the end though!
22. What color was your first dragon?
Red. Man, that guy sucked, he almost killed Osfyr. We were investigating a monastery secretly run by dragons disguised as humans.
23. Do you use premade modules or original campaigns?
Original campaigns. I’ve never run a module before! I’m not opposed, but most of my campaigns came from ideas  that I had. I’ve never been short on ideas for a game.
24. How much planning/preparation do you do for a game?
As a player, I just open my character sheet and get out dice. As a DM, I try and think about what material I want to get through this session, and write some narration and/or stat things out if I feel like it.
For DMs
25. What have your players done that you never could have planned for?
A lot of times, Inferno has rushed into battle from what I’d built as a stealth mission, and gotten her ass and sometimes the party’s asses kicked. I should really have learned by now.
26. What was your favorite scene to write and show your characters?
Definitely Saela’s resurrection ritual and vision.
27. Do you allow homebrew content?
Yes! I’ll check it first,  but I’m all for expanding the boundaries. I homebrew items and monsters all the time, why shouldn’t my payers get to homebrew their shit?
28. How often do you use NPCs in a party?
Too often in my first arc. I had like 7 NPCs running around at all times (they were Carmilla characters). Super not recommended. I have 0 right now.
29. Do you prefer RP heavy sessions or combat sessions?
I’m still finding my groove with RP as a DM. I like encouraging my players to RP amongst themselves. I consider myself fairly good at combat on both sides of the equation, DM and player, so that’s always fun to me, especially when my players enjoy it too.
30. Are your players diplomatic or murder hobos?
I have one actively reforming murder hobo player, the rest are diplomatic. (The character, Inferno, is having a great growth arc. I’m super proud.)
For Players
31. What is your favorite class? Favorite race?
I fucking love genasi as a concept. Favorite class would have to be rogue or cleric, but gunslinger’s up there too.
32. What role do you like to play the most? (Tank/healer/etc?)
I  honestly don't have the patience to not play DPS. I love doing lots of damage. Healing is satisfying, support is satisfying, but there’s a reason I picked rogue twice and tempest cleric over other domains.
33. How do you write your backstory, or do you even write a backstory?
Sometimes the backstory is part of the character concept– especially for Pointy, because I had the name first, then went hmm why would she have this name. Almost always, though, more backstory gets written during the campaign when I have an idea. Sometimes a character will act in a way I don’t expect, and it’s fun thinking of a justification to fill backstory gaps.
34. Do you tend to pick weapons/spells for being useful or for flavor?
Mostly  usefulness honestly. I’ll make choices among several for flavor, but I’m a big proponent of using mechanics to build character. What I mean is, think about Magnus in TAZ Balance– his protection fighting style contributed a lot to the way Travis played him as a protective person. I love that shit.
35. How much roleplay do you like to do?
I like to do a lot, but unfortunately my  energy is pretty down lately so I haven’t been doing as much.

8 for zize, 19 and 31 for osfyr, 22 for pointy, 34 for vinny
Zize
8. Things you said you immediately regretted
You’re 6th, maybe 7th level, and your party is fighting bitterly for the first time. You found a gun that... well it’s not great. But the thing is, it’s really fucking powerful. Powerful enough that it was able to save Yocheved’s ass from a rare slip-up that left them barely clinging to consciousness and faltering in front of a giant fucking dragon. Powerful enough that as you stepped up within range, the voice in your head whispering yes, yes, it has been so long... you don’t feel afraid anymore. No, what you feel is in control of the situation, as you pump that fucking dragon full of lead, as you don’t stop when it’s on the ground, as your party members drag you away...
Welp. And now you’re here, and Raini’s hands are frozen mid-casting of the Mansion as the other three are insisting that you need to get rid of it, that it’s dangerous, and you look at Yocheved, back up on their.... feet? air-cushion. I should’ve left them in that fucking brothel is what you think, and what comes out is “Fine! If you don’t want me to save your ass next time, then just leave. I don’t care.” And then Raini looks at you. I’m sorry is what you want to say. We can work this out. We’re a team.
Instead, you stalk into the mansion as she releases the spell from her fingertips, and you slam the door behind you, and you try to tamp down the bile in your throat as your gun croons in your ear that you made the right decision.
Osfyr
19. Things you said when nothing bigger concerned you
i’ve been infected with second person writing disease by rebekah...
you’re seven years old, running rampant with your best friend through the streets of jorhas, your beloved hometown. he’s laughing, running behind you (you always were faster) hurling imagined spells from his fingertips (he always was smarter) and you know that you want to keep doing this forever (always with him). eventually, he crashes into you, and you tumble in a heap into the nearby alleyway, breathless in a tangle of too many limbs.
“when i get older, i wanna run away with you,” you say, and he looks at you, dark skin and silver scales gleaming in the bright midday sun, and suddenly all your thoughts are yelkian, yelkian, yelkian.
31. Things you said that you wouldn’t have if it were light out
The curtains are blowing gently in the breeze, letting in what little light is to be seen in nighttime Boralus. The smell of the ocean wafts gently in. you and jupiter just got done fucking like rabbits for the fourth consecutive night in a row. krem wasn’t there that night– family business– so maybe it got a little freaky. who knows. it doesn’t matter! what matters is, your eyes are caught by her shoulder in the moonlight, and you flop down next to her with a sigh. “what if i just stayed here?”
“i’d be one happy lady, that’s for sure,” she says, but sleep is creeping into her voice, so you just kiss her head and roll over, but you can’t close your eyes, can’t stop staring out the window. what if?
Pointy
22. Things you said after making a bad decision
She didn’t mean to let it get that far, fuck. But she did, and now the whole fucking party knows her beef. Probably all the cultists too. Stupid, stupid, stupid. She wasn’t supposed to be ruled by her impulses anymore– not her anger, not giddiness, not pride or wounded honor. Not anything. Rogues are cool and calm and she, clearly, is neither.
Nyxi is gone for now, probably soothing the wounds Pointy left, although Pointy suspects Nyxi would come back if she asked. But she won’t, because she’s an adult, damn it. Not some kid who snivels into her mama’s dress. “You’re better than that.” The words feel strange on her tongue, strange after the yelling and the mumbling and yes, the crying. A simple statement. Yes, she’s better than that. Better than picking fights with a thirteen year old, better than relying on Nyxi for comfort instead of her own damn self, better than accomplishing her goals with senseless violence always rushing in recklessly to save the day. She just needs to make herself believe it first.
Vinny
34. Things you said when you thought you were in the right
It’s a punch in the chest, when it comes. “We would need people to take on the role of guardians.” Vinny’s not smart, exactly, but she knows people, and she knows what that means. She looks at Roona, and from her reaction, knows immediately what her decision will be, and that nearly knocks the wind out of her for good. But she knows what to do.
It’s the only logical conclusion for her, really. Protector. Supporter. Strong. She’s always been strong, it’s one of her favorite things about herself, and even more so when it’s enough to help people. She has to be strong for Tilbon and her kids; there’s just no other way for her to be.
“The way I see it, there’s no world in which I don’t stay.”

21 from the romance asks (most romantic experience) for osfyr and guy; and then because I'm a whole lesbian, 53 from weird asks (what are their hands like) for vinny
21. hmmmm let’s see. I honestly have to go with the last session of the campaign for Osfyr. It was the final battle, where we had to fight to prove to a pantheon of gods that we knew what we were doing when we chose which one of them to take over the world. We got transported to some sort of other plane/demiplane battlefield, and when we won we got to choose where we got popped out. Osfyr had, last session, decided to take their family and Yelkian out to the ruins beyond the borders of Acarnya in the misguided notion that that would help keep them safe if shit broke bad. We won the battle, and I chose to pop back right into the ruins. They surprised Yelkian, who at this point– important detail– Osfyr was wafflingaround being in love with, like a little gay idiot. They just said, “We won,” and walked up and kissed him.
For Guy– Myriphis is a dramatic and romantic archfey. I feel like he and Guy have lots of dates in places that are Totally The Material Plane using a spell that is Totally Teleport And Not Plane Shift, Babe! Shit like, mostly feywild sunsets etc but also probably an idyllic beach day on the elemental plane of water, or even a partnered hunt in the Shadowfell (mostly so Myriphis could monitor Guy’s progress with his powers and make sure he wasn’t gonna die if he went adventuring.)
Hands– Big Wide and Strong. I’m trying to decide if vinny is a skincare person, and I think she’s probably just sort of a moisturizer-and-go kinda gal. But, soft hands! More for spellcasting than her longsword. That thing gives her blisters. (Also, thank you for the hand lotion reminder for myself IRL!)

11, 13, 25 for osfyr bc i wanna know whats Up with the polycule, 13 especially. Logistics Of Polycule Lore Please. 2 for anyone/everyone else you wanna talk about!
11. ♥ Do they make an effort to find someone with similar views, be they political or moral?
Yeah. Yeah they do. Listen I Sam am not so much a fan of the “hurr durr look at me I’m friends with conservatives” stuff so like. in D And D World it’s even more kill-or-be-killed, and they need that security.
I will say though that I feel like Xerxes and Krem both have incredibly cursed food opinions at opposite ends of the spectrum, and they will argue about it.
13. ♥ Do they sleep in the same bed/room as much as they can or do they sleep separately?
goooood question! I feel like they share a bedroom with Yelkian, but they don’t really share even a house with the other 3. Jupiter and Krem are each other’s primary partners, so they probably live together and share a bed, and Xerxes has a nice loving family and associated house. (Each couple probably has a king bed for when he visits, though.)
25. ♥ If they could choose their partner again, would they choose the same person?
Yes! Osfyr isn’t anxious about confrontation the way I am. If they were unhappy, they would simply bring it up or break up. I will say: they did not choose Krem, he came along as a package deal, so there’s that. (I cannot emphasize enough how much he is Just A Dude.) Osfyr loves him anyway, though.
2. ♥ When they have a crush on someone, how do they let them know?
Zize will actually ramp down the sibling teasing. It’s their way of distinguishing types of feeling in their head, and also it’s super fucking obvious. They start to have thoughts about what will happen if the person finds out, and they sort of filter all of their behavior through the eyes of their crush realizing Zize had a crush the whole time and overthinking Zize’s behavior towards them.
Pointy gets shy and puts up walls. It’s not a feeling she’s used to.
Vinny gets excitable and sticks around them a lot closer, asks questions, and generally tries to spend more time together. This frequently happens before she herself realizes she has a crush.

Osfyr 15, 19, 27! And then for Remi 17 and 18 because they're tasty
15. ♥ Do they enjoy talking to their partners before going to sleep or is it straight to dreamland?
Hell yes. They were always That Kid at sleepovers. Thank you Sophia for confirming my correct analyses of their characters. I feel like the order of most to least ok with it is xerxes (he’s the same way, they’ve stayed up til dawn before just. innocently chatting), yelkian (tired but also loves with the force of a childhood sweetheart), jupiter (knows what she needs and what she needs is sleep), Krem (he’s mostly Jupiter’s partner still even after the polycule forms  and honestly he’s just a dude.)
19. ♥ What was their first impression about their partner/person they are courting?
hehehe.... so xerxes flew in Very dramatically (the image in my head is of him standing on the back of an eagle T-posing. the eagle was there. the standing and t-posing i don’t actually remember if true) after the party was done defeating a young red dragon. osfyr was On The Verge Of Death. he looked like an avenging angel. Jupiter was a hot woman in a gown at a fancy party and osfyr went I Am Looking Respectfully, and also krem was there being arm candy. yelkian? i’m pretty sure osfyr doesn’t remember the first time they met him. he was just Always There
27. ♥ Have they had dreams about their partner/the person they are courting?
Yelkian yes; everyone else no. Just because they’re a bi disaster and I think it’s funny if they didn’t realize what the dreams meant. “ah yes my Childhood Friend who I’m totally not in love with. should go see how he’s doing”
ok this is an announcement that Allie also goes by Remi now  and they’re interchangeable (full name Remalia)
17. ♥ What sort of characteristics or quirks draw them to someone?
Hm. I don’t know much yet about either her betrothed or her crush, but I feel like it’s slow carefulness and competence. She’s plenty confident, but she wants someone who can take care of her and be Good At It so she can swoon a little. Also someone her equal in strength/who could pick her up would be great but she’s not holding  out for that.
18. ♥ Do they have a ‘type’?
I honestly don’t know yet! I don’t know Rebekah’s cleric at all, and one of the conceits of this little situation is that Allie looked at them and went Eyes Emoji. Looks like I’m once again basing some character traits off rebekah’s choices.... watch out....  gays be synergizing

Osfyr Greywood: The Mechanics Of It All!
Hey! I’m gonna start making some character mechanics breakdowns, just because I am a littol rules boy, and I like analyzing and thinking about what  was going through my mind when I built the sheets for  my characters. I’ll be going in chronological order of when I created them, starting with Osfyr (Topaz is on deck).
Here is their character sheet, but DDB is hell on mobile, so I’ll also type out their most relevant stats.
Osfyr Greywood
Half-Elf Arcane Trickster Rogue 12/Bladesinger Wizard 8
STR 11 DEX 20 CON 13  INT 18 WIS 13 CHA 15
AC 18 HP 101
From the start, this was not a good character build. This was my first character, I’m pretty sure we used point buy, and I gave them a 14 DEX and 15 CHA. I don’t think I knew how important DEX was to a rogue. When we hit level 3 and it was time to pick a subclass, that was the first time I learned that Arcane Trickster was a thing, but I wanted to be one, and damn my INT of 12! (I did manage to pull off a Hideous Laughter on a vampire once when my spell DC was still 12, though. That was pretty sick.) I decided I wanted more spells, and therefore Osfyr wanted more spells, around level 7,  so I took an INT ASI at level 8 and multiclassed at level 9.
It was at level 10 that I saw the Bladesinger subclass, and that really cemented their backstory for me.  I wrote it out as the party was preparing for our final confrontation, a battle against the gods’ chosen monsters for us to fight to prove we were worthy of choosing which god was to rule the world. We’d been told that the sort of meta-good we’d been talking to was going to level us up to 20 for the final fight (we were I think level 12 at the time), so I had started preparing a level 20 sheet. The party was going to pass through  my hometown on our way to the confrontation, so we spent some time there. Osfyr hung out a lot with Yelkian, and actually managed to manifest a single  dancing light through the power of gay loove before they knew the cantrip. They took that cantrip and shape water because they’d seen Yelkian use them in a performance.
The first spells I took as an arcane trickster were surprisingly good picks for how little I knew about mechanics, although I failed to really utilize them. Hideous laughter and color spray are both great for gaining advantage–  essential for sneak attack–  but I didn’t really get to use them that way. Shadow Blade I did realize, but we were never really fighting in dim light. I also ended up with both a Wand of Magic Missiles and a Necklace of Fireballs with enough beads to cast a single 9th level fireball, the latter of which I used to  great effect in the final battle. The DM let me take higher level wizard spells that fit my slots, although RAW that wasn’t allowed, because it made sense to us.
The DM let us buy some magic items for the final battle. I chose a Potion of Haste. For a few rounds, my AC ended up as 12 for studded leather + 5 for dex + 1 for a shirt of protection I found + 2 for haste + 4 for bladesong + 5 for shield for a total of 29. (I only got hit once! And I was so scared I’d die!) I used Steel Wind Strike during that fight too, which I really loved.
One more non-combat note–  Osfyr’s CHA was 15, but I the player am not smooth under pressure, so it became somewhat of an awkward charm. Twice, the DM had me roll a charisma check for seduction reasons we’d have both been uncomfortable playing out the flirting, and we wanted to see how it went. Both times, I rolled under a 5, but what I wanted to happen happened anyway. Oh, Osfyr.
So that’s that! Next time, Topaz!
