When I was a kid I had a nasty crush on Duncan from the Yogscast and I wrote a long depressing comment on the wiki about how I was upset when I found out he had a girlfriend. Good times!

I woke up from a nap and found out one of the foundational pillars of my youth shut down. Damn.

Rooster Teeth was my lifeblood as a teen, and I’ve been a fan from the first time I saw Tex vs RnB’s. RWBY is what made me starting writing. I remembered the exact time I started actually writing down my ideas, Feb 2, 2015 at 3:52 pm after confirmation study, a day after I learned Monty passed. It was a RWBY OC fic that I stopped after I remembered their words to stop focusing on other people’s work and work on your own to build your own brand. I still have it- the writing is meh though -and my first drawings were RWBY characters like the ones below. I owe my artistic creation to that. Maybe I'll post that first fic one day too.

That gave me the time to build up a portfolio of original writing that I will soon be publishing online for myself. It inspired me and still does to this day as I enjoy RWBY and hope it will be finished.

I still listen to Gold, the music from RWBY just inspires such a sense of love from me. It can make me well with tears- which is not something easy do. I was apart of the RWBY WIKI! Back when we called Yang Yellow, and speculated White would be a cold high lady type and not girlfail. The Speculation House was my house. It was the first time I posted anything on the internet.

AND I CALLED IT BACK IN 2013- I CALLED SALEM AND OZPIN- ONE MAN WITH MULTIPLE SOULS A WOMEN WITH NONE!!! I CALLED IT AND EVEN HAD A POST I MEANT TO MAKE BUT I WAS TOO SCARED!!! SIX YEARS AHEAD!!!!!!

Anyway I was a superfan like from 2013-16 I lived and breathed the company, I watched every video, every channel, every podcast, I lived and breathed it. From Cow Chop, Sugar Pine, Funhaus, Gamefails etc. Achievement Hunter was why I came home from school to watch videos. I remember why RTX was a fandom wide event, and every single panel had mind-blowing information about something I loved. I was there for the first GTA V gameplay, and the first video on Let's Play. I have such a distinct memory of sitting down one Friday after school with a bowl of chef boyardee on a cheap white desk covered by a blue rag and chipped dark blue bowl, looking up at the ps3 3d wall-mounted tv, and watching the first Capture the Tower in Minecraft with such glee. It was my childhood.

I followed the King AU fan comic series on here and the FAKE AH crew AU. I was that heavy into it.

I READ A FEW REAL PEOPLE FICS. I was that deep. I've never done that for anyone else even in my deepest fandom days.

I remember being so excited when them and Yogscast paired up, they being another pillar and like them I am still a fan. Those TTT episodes are something special to me.

Like any company it had its flaws, and I remember every single controversy. Every. Single. One. God. I've diminished to someone who just keeps up with podcasts like F**ckFace and Red Web but I still called myself a fan. It was a foundation for me and a stabilizing influence when I was younger. I sincerely hope that the talented people there get help for this.

It only inspires my hatred of Warner Brothers more.

It actually does feel like a chapter has closed and I don't know how to feel about that.

Anyway here's Gold for your heart.

i've heard of it! i used to have a charahub back in the day which is similar from what i can gather? looking at toyhouse's front page tho it seems to be a lot more adoptable/trading and fursona focused, so idk if it's the place for me?

(frankly i would LOVE to make a like, proper wiki-esque archive on world anvil or smth for the entirety of actual soi canon (or modified with my bits lol) but idk if that's allowed on those kinda sites considering it's not my world? although doing some searching, there are plenty of pages for minecraft and dragon age etc so depending on if the yogscast got annoyed, i shooooould be ok)

From The Ideas Folder: Yogscast Library Story

So I've decided to flood Tumblr with the contents of my Ideas folder; or at least the ones I think are worth sharing. It'll be mostly random unfulfilled ideas, with a few complete ones, like this. Please note some of these are quite old. I'll provide some context or notes where I can.

This is a story I wrote during my time on the Yogscast Wiki, the somewhat official fan run wiki. I had a lot of fun there, and I made my first proper "Internet Friends" there, but after a while I simply slipped away from it. That's life I guess. Or maybe my hyper-fixations shifted. Anyway, this was my attempt at adding a bit of fantasy to the wiki, just a short story styled like a... travel guide? Idk.

Behold the Yogscast Library! It’s shelves stretch for what seems an infinity. Inside the books, known as “Pages,” is the total fan-based knowledge of the Yogscast. Each Page is sorted in a complex system of categories. It can be easy to get lost within the shelves, but the clever searcher will always be able to escape to the front of the Library, or the “Front Page.”

Pages and categories

Pages can be either small or big, but they contain the knowledge of a single subject. They may contain graphs or illustrations, but mostly follow similar patterns. Users in any level can affect the writing in a Page, adding or removing. Some Pages, however, contain important information so they are locked by Admins, stopping Lower Level Users from editing them.

When you are searching the Library, it helps to have a certain goal in mind. The Pages are all sorted into “categories” by the Users, and so if you focus on a particular subject, you are likely to find a number of Pages. Occasionally, you may find books that have no categories on them, in which case do not read it as it is a Ghost Page (See below).

Creatures of the Library

There are a number of creatures, mostly spiritual in nature, that wander the shelves of the Library. The most important, broadly named the “User,” has an interesting and varied lifespan. The life span is based around “Karma Points,” which the User collects by making good edits to Pages. Once a User has collected enough Karma Points, it ascends to its next level of its existence.

All Users start as an Anon, or Anonymous. These weak spirits are mostly invisible and shapeless, and it can be hard to distinguish one from the other. Anons can be either helpful; cleaning up the Pages, adding useful information, or they can be “Troll” Anons. These spirits delight in vandalizing the books, destroying the information kept within them, or adding lies and heresy, disguising them alongside the truths. These Troll Anons are usually dealt with by the Admins. It is important to note, while an Anon spirit may have good intentions, it’s attempts to edit can leave the Page in a state.

Once an Anon has gained enough Karma Points, it can ascend to the main part of it’s existence, which is simply called a User. This is when a spirit gains a name and shape, allowing it to stand out from other spirits. An Anon can spend years in the Library, never ascending, or it can become a User as soon as it appears. Some Users seem to come from other Libraries. Generally the User is the longest part of the spirit's existence, and it will usually retain its chosen name forever, while it is not uncommon for it to change its shape many times. Users also converse with higher level spirits more often than Anons, and usually all users are great help to the Library, although some have been known to retain their Troll status from being an Anon.

After a long amount of time in the Library, and after gaining enough Karma Points, a User will be able to become a Higher Level User. Higher Level Users have certain powers and abilities that allow them to better guard and edit the Library. Usually a User will send a request through the Library, and the Higher Level Users will either vote on whether or not to help the User to ascend. The Higher Level Users will judge on how long the User has been active in the Library, how many Karma Points they have, and how well the User interacts with other spirits. If enough Users vote yes, the User will be ascended a Level. Each time a spirit wants to ascend again, it must allow itself to be judged again. Sometimes however, when there are not enough Higher Level Users in the Library, Users can be offered Higher Levels.

The first two levels are very similar, and are sometimes granted at the same time. “Chat Mods” are charged with maintaining “The Chat,” a telepathic connection that Users share. A Chat Mod can forcibly remove Users from The Chat, or block them for any length of time. “Forum Mods” look after “The Forums,” which is a physical record of the discussions of Users. Chat Mods and Forum Mods glow with varying shades of blue.

The next level for a User is “Rollback.” This grants Users the ability to turn back time in Pages, allowing them to quickly undo vandalism. Rollbacks glow with a red light. At this point it is interesting to note, once a User has reached a level, it will retain the powers of that level as it ascends further.

The second to last level of a User is an “Admin,” who glow with a green light. Admins have the power to ban Users and Anons from editing Pages, lock Pages so they can no longer edited, destroy Pages and help other Users ascend. They also have the ability to affect reality within the Library, a process called “Editing the Code.”

Most Users only get as far as the Admin level, however some ascend to the level of “Bureaucrat.” Bureaucrats are the ultimate authority in the Library, with the abilities to revoke all levels apart from other Bureaucrats. They glow with a golden light, and as they pass it is said that the Pages are cured of all vandalism. There are only a few Bureaucrats active in the Library at any time, however they are always supported by the Admins and Rollbacks.

The end of a User's lifespan can come on any level. The User simply fades, becoming “inactive.” Occasionally inactive Users reappear, either spontaneously, or when they are called upon by their fellow Users. Sadly however, a great number of “Users” have risen through the levels, then simply vanished. The vast majority of High Level Users are inactive, however enough remain to allow the wiki to run smoothly.

Other creatures that lurk the Library’s shelves include Ads, who attempt to trick the unwary into buying useless, or sometimes dangerous objects. Ghost Pages, while not sentient, are remains of Pages that have been removed from the categorization of the Library. Attempting to read them causes you to be trapped, and it can be hard to escape from them. Occasionally Troll Users can be a threat, however as long as they are not Rollback level they are easy to deal with, and you can simply call for an Admin to ban them. There are also unseen creatures, one called “The Lag,” which causes you to slow down until you escape its grasp, and a “Crash,” which can block off the passageways in the library. Both are strong enough to affect even Bureaucrats, however they cannot manifest for long, and eventually they completely vanish.

Honestly when I wrote the bit about a User's lifetime I wasn't sure I'd ever leave the wiki, but I did. Reached Admin level, then just faded away, although sometimes I go back to see what is new.

I’ve just had the revelation that with a new generation of players joining Minecraft, the “How Do I Craft This Again” parody by Martyn and Yogscast will never be as relatable to new players as it once was to those of us who had to survive without the crafting recipes at our fingertips in-game. Ah, the old days of having to guess what might work, experimenting with shapes and materials, and searching the Minecraft wiki for any new recipes that came out with the latest updates. Those were the days.

Regarding Pedguin and Boba Witch, people say this bullshit anytime a man and a woman stream together, and then people get pissed off when I say that that isn’t evidence that they’re together. If it’s very easy for you to make that assumption offhand, surely you can find something more substantial than that to share before asserting that she was brought on by him for that reason.

Are you nonbinary? The Yogscast wiki says so, without citation. It also uses they/them pronouns for you. However, no one else seems to use those pronouns, so I'm a bit confused.

I’m trying desperately to understand how Yogscast works why is this wiki so bad lmao (post despair Clover here to say I have definitely been spoiled by the Warrior Cats wiki, that thing is a thing of beauty and every other wiki looks like dirt in comparison) 

Okay so let me get this straight 

Solutions in Chaos (featuring William Strife and Alex Parvis) takes place on the ChaosVille server, which is a 3 season series from DaveChaos that also features Duncan and Sijn in season 2. Season 3 then takes place on the Yogscast Complete server. In the first episode of Solutions in Chaos, Strife and Parvis both mention they know Lewis, but I have no idea if they’ve been in previous series or if that’s just an in-character explanation. There also does not appear to be a wiki page for Solutions in Chaos, but I know (?) it is followed by Blood and Chaos, on the Yogscast Complete server. Occurring at the same time (?) is Heroes of Mine (featuring Martyn InTheLittleWood and Alex Parvis), which has Parvis join Martyn in episode 4 after Parvis and Strife leave ChaosVille for the Complete server and then apparently get separated in the process. Then is Strife Solutions s1 and s2, on Yogscast Complete. Following that is Solutions & Order, which is not Yogscast but is ComeBlockHome?? I think?? I have No idea what ComeBlockHome is </3 

Is that all the Strife and Parvis stuff? Obviously there are a million more series and I recognize a few names from Solutions & Order on the Yogscast wiki and judging from other posts I’ve seen The Witch in the Woods is relevant to Solutions & Order? Maybe?
