Don’t mind me, just admiring the exquisite quality of Buboplague’s Yokai Yochi forever. The production quality is so well done that you can’t even see a split between the two different card sheets. Also, i know that people like thicker decks, but I’m forever going to favor thinner decks of bonded cardstock over the 350/400gsm cardstock decks. There’s something satisfying about the dense, heavy card of cored cardstock.

We return with the second gallery post of  the Alleyman’s Tarot, this time the suit of Cups. I find it funny that I filled in the deck totally randomly over time, and yet there are clear black+white streaks and color streaks that came about with the deck, even though the slots were filled months and months apart.

This is the Yokai Yochi Tarot, a tarot featuring yokai, creatures and spirits of japanese ghost stories and folklore (there’s not really a great translated term for it, but that’s the gist).

It was made and sent much later than expected, but through NO fault of the creator- shortages and shipping problems were just horrendously timed with what he wanted to do.

It’s worth it tho!! I’m already q little in love, and I just shuffled through it once. The colors are basically monochrome, with the exception of some yellow elements (often the item of a given suit). It is reminiscent of suiboku, or monochrome japanese watercolor, if I’m remembering the term correctly (again, not an exact translation). The art is very stylized, and y’all know how buckwild I get about that.

I don’t know what the pre-order/order options are right now, but I’ll make a post about it once I figure that out.
