i watched it a few days ago and??? i’m still in a state of utter shock and bewilderment??? like physically i’m home, but mentally i am still sitting in my theatre chair, with my jaw agape.

it was brilliant and—i truly can’t stress this enough—a MASTER CLASS of a movie. animation as a medium is so underestimated, but i really believe in my heart of hearts that it’ll open up so many doors for other films to come.

there’s so many things i can get into, but first i wanna talk about the color palettes designed for each character!!! i think the animators’ use of colors bode exceptionally well to showcase the characters’ emotions and innermost thoughts/feelings. take gwen for example: her color palette is usually hues of blue and cold tones, and when she’s unsure of herself or feeling down, the background/environment around her, reflects that. you see it a lot when she’s switching back and forth between her earth, and miles’—but especially so when she’s in her room. all the furniture appears abstract, and it’s constantly changing in appearance because she isn’t allowing herself to really focus on her surroundings.

another thing i noticed (this has to do with colors too) is that miles’ color scheme on his earth is blue and red (like every other spidey), but when he’s on earth 42, the color scheme changes to purple and yellow (the colors associated with the prowler). looking back at it now, this was probably obvious and may have been intentionally in-your-face but i was so caught up in other things that i didn’t even really notice it until a friend pointed it out.

beyond all that though, i have so many theories. for one, do you think spider-byte helped miles in good faith? or do you think it was unintentional? a friend and me were going back and forth about it but i think it was in good faith and we even see her in the little group gwen recruits at the end. i mean, i guess i can see the other side of the argument? people think she knowingly sent him to the wrong earth but i don’t think she knew what earth he was actually from. the machine that sent him to earth 42, scans dna. so i’m assuming while she knew he was an anomaly, she wasn’t aware of the fact that earth 42 wasn’t his actual earth. i’d like to think that she helped him escape bc it was either: 1) let him caught by miguel & co. or 2) let him take his chances.

another theory i have is that maybe miles’ dad can be saved. miguel said the canon event was inevitable but so far, miles has been disproving that he’s not like the other spider-people. him being an anomaly is quite literally a miracle within itself. he wasn’t supposed to become spider-man on his earth, but he did it anyway! so maybe…nobody will have to die? they make it a point in the movie that all the spiders go through suffering, and that their suffering is inevitable, but idk…that doesn’t sit right with me. there has to be a reason for miles’ transformation. and i think he can break that cycle.

5 months wow

so i’ve been on t for like 5 months now and i’m doin’ a lil recap for the folx at home.

i have legit just no idea what other people think of me when they look at me, and i haven’t really asked anyone.

the only way i can tell if i look “like a guy” or not is based on my interactions with people, mostly customers at my job or strangers i accidentally slam into when i’m in public.

the changes i’ve noticed have been:

deeper voice - people have actually commented on this without my prompting. but i’ve also noticed a difference when i listen to old recordings versus new recordings of myself. it’s deep enough now that i am only called sir over the phone! my dad says i sound like my uncle now.

broader shoulders/bulkier arms - something i’ve noticed and miles has also noticed. some of that might be due to my job where i lift and move stuff. who knows.

masc fat redistribution -

face - my face is thinner, little bit more angular than pre-t

chest - my tits are slightly very slightly smaller

thighs/hips - little less fat on my hips and thighs but nothing major, really looking forward to whenever that fat decides to fuck off.

increased appetite - i eat like all the time now. i haven’t gained weight. i might have actually lost a little weight based on doc visits (i’m estimating, since i’m weighed with clothing on at the offices)

hair - yo i’m so hairy now. i have maybe twice the leg/arm hair, although it’s all still light blond (my dad’s body hair is the same way, though). more armpit hair. more pubic hair. i have maybe 5 chin hairs that are black. it’s thrilling.

side note - my hairline is changing to be more masc, not going bald tho. baldness doesn’t run in my family.

hiya friend! I was wondering if u think the sam & max game on the switch would be a good starting point for getting into the series? I kinda started really getting into for real cuz of all the cool stuff you'd reblog and cuz YouTube has been recommending me the animated series lol. Also hope ur day been okay!

omg hi! hope ur doing well too. the new sam & max on switch would be a good place to pick it up. telltales take on sam & max was my first interaction with the franchise nearly 10 yrs ago lmao and personally i think its their best work (especially season 3 which im SO excited to see remastered skfkksmfkksk). the switch port doesnt run quite as well as the PC version but from what i hear it still plays great. the new graphics and models r gorgeous and i love the new music. the remaster adds so many new little details that make the game so much more enjoyable. i cant reccomend the sam & max games enough. now would be the best time to play it since the season 2 remaster should be out by the end of this year. (also idk if youd care but limited run is about to start selling physical switch and PC copies of the games if youd be interested in picking that up 🤷‍♀️)

though if u have a PC that can run it id reccomend getting it on there since the remaster also includes the original 2007 release of save the world as free dlc n i dont think the switch port does(also the game would look better sksksksk). the remaster is the definitive version to play imo, but it changed things that some ppl may or may not prefer in the original and its an experience on its own so i enjoy playing both versions lmao. but if u just want it on switch, u can find physical discs of the original on ebay for like 10 bucks (or you can play the shitty wii ports that run at 2 fps and where models disappear entirely).

sam & max also has another game that came out in 1993 that was able to play on my old piece of shit laptop. its super hard without a walkthrough but its still rlly enjoyable and u can get it on steam for 5 bucks. i also rlly reccomend the comics. theyre hilarious and beautifully drawn and u can find them all online. b ya i hope i helped lmao 💀 feel free to message me if u ever wanna talk ab the games or anything in general rlly

- Not everyone celebrates Halloween, and that’s ok. 

- not everyone likes Halloween, that’s ok as well!

  if you ask why and they don’t wanna tell you, leave it at that. In fact, when/if you decide to ask. Instead of saying “you don’t celebrate it!! Why not?!” Or “why would you not like it? What’s not to like?”

Try saying “do you mind if I ask why not?” 

2. not everyone likes scary 

- this covers all scary things: books, film, art, outfits, events ect.

 also someone could enjoy a scary movie, but not scary costumes. someone could enjoy dressing up scary, watching scary movies, but maybe they don’t like going to a hunted house.

- its totally ok to enjoy Halloween, but not wanna be scared. there is plenty to do during Halloween that doesn't include getting scared. eg I dont like dressing scray, or going to scary events, but I do like to watch a scary show every now and then[if with a lot of people lol]. my sister however, loves everything scary.

2.2. some people really like scary

- and that is totally ok! you can enjoy watching horror films, dressing up spooky. reading, drawing AND going to scary events!   

if someone dose like that, dont be like ”why would you like to get scared?!” some people like that and its totally ok.

3. If possible try and get some allergy friendly/alternative options for trick or treaters

- some kids/people cant have normal candy. be it an allergy, or something else.[i am not sure what all this could be so please feel free to add to this part/let me know!] braces are a thing that prevents kids from some candy! idk what else tho but I know there are a lot of things. 

-so im gonna make a list here of things I know would be good alternitives: 

cheep: dollor store toys [or stores like that] just silly fun stupid toys that will last like 2 hours. and cost you 50 cents.   its way more fun to get those sticky hands, than it is to get a pencil. 

pricey: allergy friendly food brands tend to have some good candy. although they are a little more pricey:

Enjoy life. free form 14 top allergies. they have really good chocolate [that is also dairy free.] and for halloween they do some bundles I think. for people with allergies: its all made in a dedicated gluten and peanut[and more I think youd have to check for your specific allergy] free building.

Wholesome. GUMMYS! p good. [its also free from a lot of stuff. check their page to see if its good for you]

Black Forest. also for gummys! [better than wholesome, but more expencive]

those brands are certified - meaning people with allergies don’t have to worry about it. let me know if the links dont work. 

there are many brands that are safe from things, but aren’t certified. just look up allergy free candy. I highly recommend looking up Celiac free candy, bc if it Celiac free its also most likely free from dairy and peanuts as well. 

4. Triggers!!

- be mindful of triggers. If you aren’t sure if your post is triggering, go ahead and tag it. In fact

- always tag what’s in your post! Especially art! Bc tumblr is great, but it can’t filter and image unless you put in the tags (or post) some words about what it is.

- some tags you can put are “scary tw” “tw halloween” if you do art of like monsters and aren’t really sure what tag to use just put “monsters” or “tw monsters”/“monsters tw” it’s seriously that easy.

if someone asks you to tag it, be chill and just tag it. even if you dont understand why, you dont have to understand it to know that someone just asked you v nicly to tag it...

- some people have triggers that are v v prominent during Halloween. I myself  have quite a few triggers of things that are v popular during Halloween. So I personally am not really looking forward to Halloween. [i do love halloween i am just not looking forward to people forgetting to tag things]
