Of saviors, traitors and, yes, that happily ever after in ‘The King Eternal Monarch’
I came across a post about “The King Eternal Monarch” the other day and found the questions it raised — and the answers it provided —  interesting. I’d seen some of the same questions either here or on Twitter. While I agreed with some of the original poster’s answers, I have a slightly different perspective on others. I didn’t want to hijack the post so I’m writing a separate. But you can read the original here. Obviously, I’m not saying these are the definitive answers. But if you have any questions about anything on the show, feel free to drop me an ask. I think you can tell my thoughts are still consumed by “The King Eternal Monarch,” LOL!
Tumblr media
2 saviors?
I’ve seen the theory going around early during the show’s run. And I’ve seen the photos. I initially thought it was just a trick of light that made the shoes look different.
Tumblr media
But the original poster’s theory about Gon having different shoes from different timelines and it all just merging together to emphasize the time loop makes sense as well. To borrow Gon’s words, it’s a beautiful solution to what could just be a production inconsistency.
Tumblr media
Lee Gon being a good shooter
The theory about the time loops and how at this point it’s like muscle memory makes sense to me. God knows how many times he’s gone through this.
But why do people think Gon is a bad shooter? Because of the shooting game? I thought it was pretty clear that the game was rigged, as most of these types of games are. Other than that I don’t think viewers were ever shown or told that Gon is a bad shooter. He was supposed to be last in his class in combat, but even then I’m not sure that his mentor wasn’t just pulling his leg.
Tumblr media
What was Lee Lim’s plan?
“I plan to become the very being who gives punishment from the skies.” That’s what Lee Lim told his brother, the king, right before he killed him. He basically wants to become a god, with dominion over “eternity and infinity” through the Manpasikjeok. With the power to open doors to different worlds and have the breadth of time to do so, the possibilities for Lee Lim were endless and quite mind-boggling, to be honest. I do think he still wanted to rule Corea, part of the reason he was replacing all those people with his minions.
Tumblr media
The ending ...
I think this is the part where I’ve seen the most debate. I fall on the side of Gon and Tae Eul ending up living in Corea, married and with kids — which, of course, means Tae Eul became queen. Without being explicitly shown a wedding, plus that line about going back to their daily lives after their weekend dates, I see how it could be viewed as our couple making the best of an impossible situation.
But interpreting the ending to mean Gon and Tae Eul lived separate lives and just got together on weekends would mean ignoring everything that the show set up about Gon’s and Tae Eul’s characters as well as what the king’s duties entail. This is a point hammered throughout the series, he needs to make sure his royal line continues.
Then you have Gon’s repeated proposals — a storytelling trope. The payoff was her finally accepting it: in the penultimate episode when she put on the necklace, and in the final episode when she accepted Gon’s flowers. Don’t forget that she was willing to abandon her life in the republic and go into the in-between place with Lee Lim, risking death or being trapped on the other side. That’s why she told Luna to take care of her dad.
There’s actually no obstacle to them being together that they can’t overcome. As Gon repeatedly says, he’s quite an influential person in Corea (Netflix keeps using the word “decent,” which doesn’t make sense in the context of his conversations. I’d say influential would be closer, maybe even powerful). Luna exists, yes, but they can always say, “Hey, everybody has a doppelganger” and laugh it off. Tae Eul’s identity? I’m sure Lady Noh and her creative Royal Public Affairs Office can come up with some beautiful fiction to explain the new queen’s origin/background.
It also helps that Fate or the spirit of the flute seem to be on our couple’s side, first by allowing them to keep their memories, and then later nudging them to basically get on with it by bringing them back to Corea to be discovered by Jo Yeong and the Royal Guards — a repeat of the last time.
One of these days I’ll write a longer meta on the many ways the series showed that marriage and queenship for Tae Eul were not just possible but inevitable.
Tumblr media
What’s the purpose of the chief’s solitude?
To show the effects of compassion — or lack of it — on people’s lives, it’s one of the themes explored throughout the series and emphasized in the finale. The chief uses the excuse of “solitude” while basically looking after the grandmother and sister of someone he knew who went to prison. Because of his “solitude,” the lives of two people are a little better than they would have been.
We see this again with Prime Minister Koo’s mom and the young “Luna,” who ended up being an officer of the law instead of running from the law with just a little compassion from the fish shop lady. And when Gon and Tae Eul discover a world where Gon is a tyrant, the king immediately surmises that bad Gon must have grown up without a Lady Noh, an Uncle Buyeong and someone’s ID to guide him.
On the flip side, you can see the impact of Lee Lim’s utter lack of compassion for the poor souls he manipulated to serve him.
Tumblr media
Why did Lee Gon’s grandfather bring Head Court Lady Noh into the Kingdom of Corea?
This was frustrating because I definitely wanted to know more about Lady Noh’s past, especially after this revelation. From the little we heard about the situation, it seemed like the king had seen the devastation of the war and took pity on a young orphaned Noh Ok Nam. It didn’t feel like there was a romantic connection there from the way Lady Noh told her story.  But while it may feel like it was a storyline that was dropped, I see a couple of purposes for the revelation.
A) To show that somebody from the republic could have a life in the kingdom (psst, Tae Eul).
B) To show why Lady Noh was more accepting of unexplainable things such as encountering —  and letting go — a young man who claims to be her king on the Night of the Treason.
How did Lee Lim come back before the king in episode 15 and how come he wasn’t dead since in 1994 he was beheaded by himself?
Could be as simple as Lee Lim’s gate was much closer to the palace than the king’s. As for why he wasn’t dead, it was 2020 traitor who got beheaded. 1994 traitor went on to live his life like his previous self, without learning any lessons, and that’s the version Tae Eul ends up shooting inside the in-between.
Who succeeds the throne after Lee Gon?
His and Tae Eul’s kid, of course. The one Lady Noh has been praying for and kinda hinted at in the last episode with the reference to the Royal Ancestral Shrine. “Will it be completed next year?” she asks. Why next year? Because if they started now, it would take Gon and Tae Eul about a year to have a baby, LOL!
Tumblr media
What about Se Jin, you might ask. Well, we don’t know that she exists in the new timeline since her traitorous father’s neck was snapped by Jo Yeong back in 1994. Here’s the thing with that character, she was never really more than just a plot point. That’s why aside from blurry photos and a few details about her doing well, we never got much information about her. Because when all was said and done, when the timeline was finally restored she wasn’t going to be relevant.

Request: Fever all through the night | Sweet Pea/OC
AN: This… this… I have no defense. Enjoy. My thanks goes out to salty-serpent for the amazing request, though I did take it a bit too literally xD
If you’d like to read more about Ruby and Sweet Pea, check out my Masterlist :)
Tumblr media
Info:
Fandom: Riverdale Pairing: Sweet Pea/OC Rating: T Word count: 3147 (I… overdid it… again…) Request: #19 - Kisses in the Dark - While watching a movie - At his place - Sweet Pea initiates it
Continues from the last request: Love me tender, love me sweet, true, long, love me dear
Fever all through the night (this is the song for this damn request!! Urgh epic fit)
“What about you, Ruby?” Toni’s voice pulled Ruby back into reality. Her head shot up from the phone screen, where she’d been eagerly awaiting Mattie’s next message.
“Huh?” Was really the only reply Ruby could give to the question. The purple haired Serpent rolled her eyes, but repeated.
“Fangs and I are going out, Sweet Pea is watching GoT, finally, and Gorgon is bartending,” Toni listed. “What are your plans for the weekend?” Ruby’s eyes weren’t on her friend’s anymore, though. Instead, she was typing away on her phone quickly.
“Sure, GoT sounds good.” The petite girl replied in an absent-minded, airy tone. Toni looked over to Sweet Pea, who seemed to be doing everything but whistling to the side as if he wasn’t the topic of the conversation. Fangs and Gorgon, on the other hand, were anything but subtle, laughing so loudly that a couple of people in the school cafeteria turned and stared.
“So, your plans are going on a date with Sweet Pea?” Toni pushed with a smug smile, getting a wild reaction from almost all the occupants of the table. Sweet Pea spit out his water and then tried to save his dignity with a cough. Though, his cheeks were too red for that. Gorgonhead and Fangs, on the other hand, had no qualms about laughing it up. They looked like they were ready to fall off the bench and roll around the floor, by the way they were holding onto one another. Ruby, apparently, was too focused on texting.
“Uh-huh.” She replied absent-mindedly, making Sweet Pea’s expression take on quite an interesting form. Toni, on the other hand, looked more than pleased with herself. Since Ruby and Sweet Pea had gone on their first ‘semi-date’, which had just been the tall biker filling in for FP’s kid, Toni hadn’t gotten any insider info. They’d told her that the movie was fine, that they got wet from the rain and that they both had fun. For anything else, she was very much in the dark. And, Toni hated being in the dark. To top it all off, their stories were a little too perfectly matched. They quoted each other word for word, even when she’d spoken to them separately. Not even Fangs had gotten anything more out of Sweet Pea. So, Toni knew that she needed to get those two on another date. This time, a real one. Not just him filling in or her not knowing that it was a date. And, Game of Thrones sounded like the perfect binge watch for their little rendezvous.
Things between her and Sweet Pea had been odd since their impromptu semi-date which had ended in a kiss. It wasn’t that Ruby was uncomfortable. She had never been uncomfortable around Sweet Pea. They had their own dynamic, a magnetic push and pull, which she very much enjoyed. However, ever since she twisted her fingers in the lapels of his flannel and pulled him down for a kiss, she had been feeling a bit odd. Weird. Like she was outside of their usual push and pull element. Because, it wasn’t just offhanded flirting anymore. At that point, it was definitely something more. Because, he was definitely into her as much as she was into him.
So, learning that she’d agreed to go on a proper date with him, all the while thinking that it would be a group hangout, got Ruby to panic more than a bit. She spent over half an hour with Mattie on the line, picking her outfit. She wanted to be both pretty and casual. Even if it was a date, she didn’t want to look over the top for an evening of binge-watching Game of Thrones at his trailer.
Luckily, Sweet Pea was quite the talker over IM. They’d exchanged over a dozen messages, debating on snacks, drinks and who should bring what. In the end, Ruby was in charge of snacks, which were her specialty. She managed to bake some easy chocolate chip cookies, and bought the rest on her way to Sweet Pea’s trailer. She found the place easily enough, as it was close to Toni’s home. Sweet Pea opened the door before she was done knocking, looking surprised at himself for doing it.
“Hi,” Ruby awkwardly greeted and watched the way he had to gather himself before replying. Good, he was just as nervous as she was.
“Hey,” Sweet Pea’s voice was a bit higher than usual as he welcomed her inside. The trailer was pretty much what Ruby expected. A perfect man cave. There were minimal clothes around, luckily, which didn’t trigger her cleaning impulses. She had a pet peeve about wearing shoes inside or throwing clothes all around that drove her father insane. But, Sweet Pea seemed like he was tidier than Jo. Or, he had at least made an effort for her. “We’re in here. Netflix’s all set up,” then, he smirked at her mischievously and she felt her knees buckle. “I logged into Fangs’ account.”
“Naughty boy,” Ruby teased right back and placed the bags with snacks and the box of cookies on the table in the living area. She saw that Sweet Pea’s laptop was there, as beat up and taped up as she remembered it. Sure enough, there was the Netflix logo on the open browser, Game of Thrones seasons listed. “Where are we starting?” Ruby asked.
“From the beginning, if you don’t mind?” Sweet Pea tossed a few extra pillows onto the couch and brought glasses, along with a few different bottles. He had cola, juice and club soda, as far as she could see. “Fangs and Toni have been raving about me not watching the show, so I finally decided to give in to their nagging.”
“Sure,” Ruby nodded. She shrugged off her jacket and tossed it on the sofa chair in the corner before getting comfortable on the couch. “I’ve seen the show once, fair warning. So, I’ll try not to spoil anything.” Sweet Pea shook his head with a laugh, also plopping down.
“Feel free to squeal or look away. You can’t be worse than Toni.” After a bit more easygoing conversation, mostly concerning who was eating what and who wanted to drink what, Sweet Pea started the first season from episode one. Ruby found herself comfortably pressed against his side, not minding the way his arm casually draped around her shoulders not even halfway through the first episode. Sweet Pea complained about the low volume of the laptop jokingly, telling her to stop chewing the chips so loudly when there was important dialogue. Ruby, on the other hand, enjoyed how expressive he was as he watched the show, sometimes even yelling at the screen for a few chosen stupid decisions. Altogether, it was turning out to be an easy, comfortable date.
Halfway through season one, the two teens started singing along to the theme song in the beginning. It began with Sweet Pea humming it under his breath, and Ruby picking it up. Over the next three episodes, though, they settled into quite a duet while the theme played, laughing at the end. Sweet Pea proclaimed that Khal Drogo was his absolute favorite character, and Ruby didn’t have the heart to deliver the bad news which he would have to face sooner or later. She, on the other hand, admitted that she liked Arya Stark the best, to which she received a biting comment about height. All in all, their night progressed with easy conversation and plenty of hours of straining to hear the show’s dialogue.
“Oh, Gosh!” Ruby pulled away from Sweet Pea’s embrace, hitting the spacebar and stopping the episode in the middle of Littlefinger’s monologue.
“Urgh,” Sweet Pea groaned, turning away from her in order to grab another bag of chips. “If you’re going to pee again, please make it quick. I’m actually curious if they’re gonna kill him.” Ruby’s hand slapped his biceps at the crude comment softly.
“I’m not hitting the bathroom again,” she made a face at him. “It’s just, I remembered that I have earphones in my jacket pocket!” At that, Sweet Pea pushed her towards the other end of the couch, so that she could reach the jacket without getting up.
“C’mon, get them. Seriously, why didn’t you say so earlier? I’ve been straining my ears for the last five hours!” Ruby managed to lean over the arm of the couch, digging out her earphones, and then slither back to the tall biker as she untangled them.
“I forgot, okay?” The girl defended, offering him one earphone and plugging the cord into the laptop. Then, she pressed the spacebar again and actually had to lower the volume a bit so that they wouldn’t go deaf. But, when Ruby settled back into Sweet Pea’s side, with the earphones stretched in between them, she felt a comfortable warmth. Even pulling away in order to get the earphones had been too long without his body heat. With a small smile, Ruby remembered their kiss at the Drive-In and smiled to herself. Just as Sweet Pea offered her the chips bag and she raised her head to ask him about their relationship and what it meant at that point, everything went dark.
“W-what happened?” Ruby whispered, a little shocked. It was pitch black everywhere around her. All that she could feel was Sweet Pea’s body pressed against hers and couch underneath her. The earphone fell out as Sweet Pea moved a bit, hands tapping around in the dark.
“Just a power outage,” the tall biker told her. “We get our fair share of them. Nothing to worry about,” then, his phone screen lit up and Ruby saw the outline of his features in the dark. “Sorry, but my laptop battery sucks.”
“Noticed,” Ruby laughed. The machine had crashed as soon as the power had gone out. “Anything I can do?” Just as Sweet Pea was about to answer they heard giggling and cackling under the window. Familiar giggling and cackling.
“I’m going to murder them.” Sweet Pea spoke in a low, icy tone that promised bodily harm. Ruby’s hands were on his forearms before he could get up and find Fangs and Toni with murderous intentions.
“It’s okay,” she shrugged with a small smile. “They’re just trying to prank us, right?” When Sweet Pea still looked ready to bolt and perhaps grab an ax on the way, she continued. “If we don’t react, they’ll turn it back on, no?”
“Hopefully.” The tall biker finally grumbled and slouched in his seat. Ruby shook her head with a laugh as she took her earphones and rolled them up. Toni and Fangs really could be beyond childish sometimes, she decided. The girl made herself busy by tidying up the little bits of the snacks on the table which she could see under the light coming from Sweet Pea’s phone. When the table was surface was clean, she realized that there was nothing else to do and leaned back into the couch. There was giggling and cackling from under the window again. Ruby smirked, moving closer to Sweet Pea and grabbing his shoulder for purchase in order to reach his ear. He flinched, head whipping around to face her in the dim light of his phone, eyes wide.
“Say,” Ruby whispered, noting how his shoulder muscles instantly relaxed under her hand. “Let’s give them something to talk about?” Sweet Pea stared at her for a few moments, like a deer in headlights, before asking in a low, uncertain tone.
“Give them something to talk about or give them something to talk about?” Ruby shrugged, her hair cascading to the front with the motion. Sweet Pea’s eyes followed the long chocolate waves on their path.
“Former, if you’re uncomfortable with the latter.” The girl told him. Sweet Pea grinned at her.
“Former, because I sure as hell am not doing the later for Fangs’ and Toni’s amusement.” He shot back. Ruby giggled, pushing away from him and grabbing one of the pillows on the couch.
“Fair enough,” she smirked devilishly at him, before the light completely went out, his phone screen going dark. Then, there was a thump, which sounded like a body falling over. But, Sweet Pea felt the pillow hit the back of the couch and quickly caught onto the game. He grabbed his own pillow as Ruby moaned. “Oh, Sweet Pea!” He could barely reign in his laughter as he smacked his own pillow into the back of the couch. “Right there! Oh!” She was loud, unlike the tender quiet Ruby during their kiss and the little bit of snuggling they’d done at the Drive-In. It made Sweet Pea wonder if she was usually vocal during intimate moments. “Oh, God!” Snickering could be heard from underneath the window.
“You like that?” Sweet Pea growled out in a husky tone, having to catch Ruby as she fell over onto him, soundlessly laughing. He could see the outline of her face and those pale eyes in the dark, having a ton of fun. Then again, he was no better. He was doing everything he could to stop himself from laughing. “What else do you want me to do?” There was a gasp from under the window, followed by a thump. Ruby managed to gather herself enough in order to reply.
“Touch me,” she spoke in a fairly loud tone, smacking the pillow against the back of the couch again. “Help me get my shirt off,” Sweet Pea would be lying if he said that the whole charade wasn’t hot. Because, as much fun as he was having giving Fangs and Toni a vocal show, he would’ve loved to experience all of those things for himself. “Pans, pants.” Ruby panted, her lips pulled in a wide smile. Sweet Pea did the only thing he could, he responded with a dirty comment and enjoyed the snickering from under the window.
Soon enough, Ruby and Sweet Pea found themselves standing on top of the couch in the dark, holding hands as she jumped up and down in a slow rhythm, obviously creating the sound of a couple getting busy on the furniture piece. They kept yelling out random dirty phrases, moaning and trying not to laugh when they heard Toni and Fangs start a commentary on their ‘technique’ from under the window. Ruby actually had to stop jumping a few times and physically hold onto Sweet Pea so that she wouldn’t burst into loud laughter. Those were undoubtedly his favorite moments.
Her small fingers would squeeze his forearms and her head would press into his torso, muffled snickering coming from her shaking form. But, Sweet Pea reveled in the way she was completely comfortable in his presence. In the way her body heat transferred to every part of him that she touched, setting his skin on fire, despite the layers of clothing between them. He simply couldn’t wait until they got to that part of their new relationship in reality, and not just in a teasing fantasy.
“Go, go, go!” Sweet Pea heard Toni whisper-yell, undoubtedly pushing Fangs away from their hiding spot. Ruby was still jumping and shaking with laughter and he was still grunting and telling her obscene things when they heard their purple-haired friend say. “Our job here is done.” Then, all the snickering and talking vanished completely. After a few more moments, Ruby stopped jumping and looked at him. Sweet Pea couldn’t help himself. He started laughing loudly and it was like a dam broke. The two dissolved into uncontrollable giggles and cackles, holding onto each other in order to stay upright. Despite all the efforts, the two teens somehow ended up sitting on the couch after a small stumble, Ruby halfway laying on Sweet Pea’s lap.
“That,” she gasped out through her laughter. “Was legen-fucking-dary!” And she was giggling again.
“Yeah,” Sweet Pea gasped out through a chuckle before he realized that he was positively on fire. Everything was so hot. He was too hot. Like he was running a fever or something. But, it wasn’t the kind of fever that hit his head. Instead, it was the kind of fire that lit up everywhere Ruby touched. He slowly stopped laughing and stayed looking at the giggling girl. And, in his moment of realization, Sweet Pea found that Ruby was positively beautiful like that, chuckling uncontrollably in his lap. “Ruby?” He called out, making the girl compose herself a bit and look up at him.
“Yeah?” She asked, mouth still in a smile from all of the giggling. Sweet Pea’s hand came up, dwarfing her face as he pushed some of the wavy hair behind her ear. The darkness suddenly seemed like it was charged with electricity. Ruby’s mouth was open, short gasps coming out from all of the jumping. But, she wasn’t laughing anymore. Instead, her eyes looked like they had laser focus kind of intensity in them. Sweet Pea left his hand on her face, his thumb caressing her cheek gently, watching the way she shuddered and leaned into his palm.
“You’re beautiful.” He wasn’t aware of the words leaving his mouth. And, he certainly wasn’t aware of how breathless he sounded. He was only aware of her, Ruby, in his lap, with those utterly inviting lips popped slightly open in shock. And then, he had his other hand on her face, as well, pulling her in. Before either of them knew it, Sweet Pea was kissing her. Unlike last time, when she’d been shivering and cold, her lips were warm and soft. And, inviting. Very inviting.
The kiss was slow, made even more intimate by the darkness around them and their position on the couch. But, neither teen seemed to be uncomfortable. In fact, Ruby took charge of her position as soon as Sweet Pea deepened the kiss, coming to straddle his lap and pull him in even more, her arms around his waist. She gripped his sides with legs and twisted her fingers into the material of his flannel shirt, holding on for dear life. Then, their kiss came to a slow end, the two separating to breathe.
“Can you do that again?” The breathless, whispered words set a kind of fire in Sweet Pea that made all of their previous teasing moaning and groaning pale in comparison. For a few seconds, he tried to gather himself. Calm down his heart. Get some air into his lungs. But, he realized that it was absolutely futile. Those wide, pale eyes staring at him, waiting, would definitely be his undoing. So, Sweet Pea gave a shaky nod and obliged soundlessly, for once in his life, surrendering to another’s wishes without a fight. His lips came up to meet Ruby’s in a gentle, exploring kiss in total darkness.
And he did the same again, again and again.
Hope that you all enjoyed :D

Sihyuk Academy Ch. 7
Genre: BTS x Reader Supernatural AU
Word Count: 1.8K
Warnings: Mentions of murder (very briefly though)
A/N: Next chapter is where it all starts to go down. I wonder how many of you picked up on the clues as to what may happen. Also I hope to update again very very soon. I’m sorry I had put this off so long and I hope y’all can forgive me!
Tumblr media
Over the next couple of weeks you grew more and more comfortable with your abilities. You all but mastered water and ice, and you got very good with light, fire and wind. But there were 3 that you hadn’t even begun to think about; healing, time control, and teleportation.
But, even with the struggles of class and training, one big thing improved. Yoongi and yourself had slowly grown closer and closer. You also finally got to know the rest of the boys better, making classes much easier to deal with. Which brought you to today, in your current events class.
Yoongi, Namjoon, and Jin all welcomed you, asking how you were feeling before Charles came in.
“Class, today we are going to begin to cover an event that may be considered sensitive. Be warned, I will be showing some graphic images.” He states.
You were never bothered by blood or guts, so you didn’t feel too worried by what may be shown. You got out your notebook and pen, ready to take note of whatever event was about to be brought up.
“We are going to be looking at a serial killer that has been targeting the mythical community for years. The attacks started almost 20 years ago, and while they dropped off for some time, they have recently returned.” Charles said, bringing up images of the first murder.
“How do we know it’s the same people?” Namjoon asks.
“They follow the same pattern. A vampire and a demon drain the body. They are unsure if it’s an incubus or a succubus right now though.”
Namjoon nods as Charles shows the trend, where the murders had been committed over the years. Class seemed to fly by and soon it was time to leave.
“Class, the next time we meet in here we will be going over the names of victims, so please be ready” Charles calls out.
You walk back to the dorm with the three men.
“Anyone want to come hang out with me until dinner?” You ask.
“Sure. We’ll put our stuff away and then head down” Jin says with a smile.
You had enough time to put your school stuff away and set up the TV for a movie before they had shown up at your door. The other four boys must have heard the plan because Hoseok and Taehyung were the first ones through the door.
“You sunshine has arrived.” Hoseok shouted as he pulled you into a hug.
Taehyung soon joing the two of you, causing you to fall to the floor. Jimin, Jin, and Jungkook flopped down on top, forcing you to the bottom of the pile. You all proceeded to laugh, until someone cleared their throat. You all look up to see Namjoon and Yoongi standing at the door.
“Why aren’t you guys coming in?” You ask.
“You haven’t invited us in yet.” Namjoon responded.
“What, is it a vampire thing? Can’t enter a home without an invitation?” You ask with a snicker.
“No, just being polite.” He answers with a smile.
“I on the other hand physically can’t enter without an invite.” Yoongi says in a quiet voice.
“Well both of you, please, come in.” You say, fighting your way out from under the boys.
Namjoon and Yoongi join the other boys on your floor as you finish setting up the movie.
“Now, I am curious, why does Yoongi need permission to enter a room?” You ask, turning off the lights.
“Long story, but most just say it’s because we’re not really human.” Yoongi mumbles.
“Yoongi, none of us are human if you hadn’t noticed.” Jimin chimed in.
“I just don’t know how to explain it. Like you hear that vampires don’t have souls but, like, we are even lower than them.”
“How do you guys even come to be? Not asking to be rude, I am very curious. Especially considering how difficult it is for vampires to have kids.” Jin says.
“It’s a vampire and a demon. But not everyone comes out this way, only a small percentage. They call it an oddity, but I say it’s like comparing people who are right or left handed.” Yoongi says.
“So something just happens by chance? Namjoon asks.
“Yes… But the other thing that makes my kind so rare is that only 25% of males can reproduce, and none of the females can. So you just have to get extremely lucky.” Yoongi shrugs.
“Such an interesting species.” You mutter, not fully aware that you were speaking out loud.
“Says the girl who has 12 different powers and a tattoo for each of them” Taehyung laughs.
“Hey, not my fault I didn’t only get one like my brothers.” You counter with a giggle.
“Speaking of your brothers, hwo do you have 12?” Jungkook asks.
“8 of them share the same mom and dad with myself. 4 of them have a Chinese mother, but the same father. Hence why 5 of them are the same age.” You say with a shrug.
“He was seeing two women at once? For several years?” Hoseok questioned.
“Where my father comes from, it was common practice to have more than 1 wife.” You state.
“Did they know about each other?” Jin asks.
“Oh yes, they were very good friends and would spend several months out of a year together.”
“And you think I’m the interesting species.” Yoongi mumbles.
“You are though, compared to what I’ve seen anyways. I only really ever interacted with my kind.” You say.
“What exactly is your species?” Namjoon questions.
“I don’t know if we have a set name for what I am. But I know we aren’t from here, I was always told that we exist on a separate planet, still part of this dimension or something.”
“Wait, you come from a different planet?” Jimin asks.
“Well, my dad does. I was born on earth like the rest of my siblings. We lived with our mothers growing up, we only saw dad every so often.” You shrug.
“But why?” The boys all ask at once.
“He’s king of our species, so he can’t be away for very long.”
“So that makes you royalty as well.” Namjoon ponders.
“Yes, though I choose to ignore that title. Seeing as there are 13 of us, it is more likely to go to one of my brothers than myself. Though I know there is a ‘prophecy’ of sorts that explains who the rightful heir to the throne is. But we have some time anyways, my father wants us to settle and live our lives before we get thrown into the life of a royal. Which is exactly why we are all living on earth instead of our home planet.” You say.
“So that’s why only your brothers came to family weekend.” Jin says.
“Yeah. We are all very close, so we try to see each other whenever possible.”
“You mentioned a prophecy. Do you know anything about it?” Hoseok asked.
“It’s a very long and confusing story. I don’t even know much about it myself.”
“Can you explain what you do know?” Namjoon asked.
You think for a second before shifting to get more comfortable, the movie happily forgotten at this point. The boys all moved closer so they could hear every word you would speak. Yoongi moving the closest, so close you were essentially leaning back against him. Taehyung took this as an invitation to lay his head in your lap, and Jungkook leaned into your shoulder.
“I can’t say too much, but what I can say is going to be very confusing. All I know for certain is that my father had to have a bunch of children in order to have a successful blood line or something. Like I said it’s common to have multiple wives, but normally only a child or two to each one. My father has a total of 13 kids to two different women.”
“That still gets me, having so many siblings and two moms essentially.” Hoseok says.
“I don’t mind it, we all get along and love each other. Anyways, the heir to the throne has to overcome some evil or something, which if you ask me is super vague and what not. But they never specify what the evil is. Just that the ‘chosen one’ will fully master their power in order to overcome this evil.”
“Why are prophecies always so confusing” Taehyung shakes his head.
“You’re asking the wrong person there Tae, if I knew anything I honestly would tell you.”
“So can you tell us what it was like to grow up with such an interesting family?” Jungkook asks.
“Well, we spent a lot of time together that’s for sure. Especially when we all first came to America, that was when we would see our dad the most. He was in charge of us when we first started growing up in America so he could teach us a bit about our home. But our moms took good care of us when we were in Korea and China.”
“Did you live in China as well?” Namjoon wonders.
“For a brief period of time. A lot happened when we were growing up so I moved around a bit.”
“What happened?” Yoongi asks.
“Someone tried to kill my father. So we kept moving, until eventually he just stayed in our home planet. I think he believes that by not being around us, it’s keeping us safe. We haven’t had any issues since then, but we know that things aren’t always as they seem. My brothers and I are honestly just waiting for it to blow up in our faces.” You shrug.
“That’s beyond crazy. Makes sense as to why you guys are all spread out now.” Namjoon says with wonder.
“Not to break up this amazing development. But not only did we miss dinner, but half the boys are now asleep.” Jin says, pointing to the younger three now asleep on the floor.
“Well, you all can crash in here tonight. It can be a sleepover. I have a ton of blankets in my closet and my bed is large enough to fit another person or two.” You say, pushing yourself up off the ground
The boys nod in response, following you to the closet to help get everyone settled for the night. Namjoon and Jin took to covering the younger boys with a few blankets, taking care not to step on Taehyung’s wings that were sticking out from the pile. Hoseok set up a place for himself, Namjoon and Jin while Yoongi made it clear he would be staying with you. You all whispered your goodnights, settling into a peaceful sleep soon after.

Vanilla - A Destiel Fanfiction - Chapter One
Mary wrapped her arms around her son and ruffled his hair.
"Please try not to get into too much trouble okay?" She says. Her voice is so soft and sweet.
"I'll try," Dean says, letting go of his mother's embrace.
"Dean. For me?"
"Of course. It just kinda sucks jumping into school 3 months in."
"Pumpkin, you'll be just fine okay. I'll make you some pie for when you come home. Promise."
She kissed Dean on the forehead and turned him around to face the building.
Dean walked through the huge double doors and aimlessly wandered around, admiring pictures hanging from the walls. There was a picture of the school math club. On the far right were two girls with curly black hair, and a boy wearing a green t-shirt and had a suspicious smirk on his face.
Eventually he came across a small room that said "Main Office."
Inside it looked snug, with a large desk taking up most of the room. Inside the desk, sitting upon a black chair with wheels was a smiling woman. Her straight brown hair rested on her shoulders and her dark, chocolatey eyes lit up when she smiled.
"Hello!" She said. Her voice was kind and welcoming. "You're Dean Winchester right?"
Dean nodded his head, biting his lower lip.
"Oh please, don't be nervous sugar. I'm Mrs. Harvelle, here's your schedule, locker number and combo and if you ever have any questions please feel free to ask. Your books and binders are in your locker already. I promise you will enjoy this school very much."
She smiled cheerily at him, and he flashed a tiny grin, taking his schedule and a small notecard with his locker number and combo on it from her hand.
He turned around and walked out of the office, looking down at his schedule to see what his first class was. It was Monday that meant... English. English? Of course it was. Of course he would start off at a new school with his worst subject. Just his luck.
Still not knowing where to go, he continued on his stroll down the hall, checking the outside of every classroom door to see if the junior English class was any of them. He passed by more and more pictures on the way. There was a line of photography students had taken, probably for an AP class. There was a girl with long blonde hair with a flower up to her eye. Finally he arrived to a cozy classroom that said English - Mrs. Mills on the side of the door. He peeked down at his schedule, and underneath English it said Mrs. Mills. Yep. This was the one. He hesitantly opened the door, to see a woman standing up at the front of the colorful classroom. "Are you Dean Winchester?" She said sweetly, giving Dean a little smile. "Yep," he replied, awkwardly stepping towards her. "It's nice to meet you Dean, please take a seat wherever you'd like."
Dean eyed the room to see that the only free seat was next to a boy with bulky black glasses and a beige sweater on, his face staring down at his desk.
Mrs. Mills handed Dean a copy of a book. The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. A book he had never read before, but then again he had probably only read like 5 books in his whole life.
She stood next to the whiteboard and wrote a bunch of stuff about what people should be recognizing about the characters in the book, Dean only half paying attention. He was paying more attention to the people in the classroom. In the back of the room was a girl with long crimson hair and light green eyes. Sitting next to her is the girl with curly black hair from the math club photo.
Mrs. Mills continued the lesson while Dean almost fell asleep, but something caught his eye. The boy next to him finally looked up, to reveal a beautiful face with aquamarine eyes that look like the sun from underwater
His eyes were so gorgeous.
He had never seen anything like it. And his smooth black hair that fluttered over his forehead made Dean's heart skip a beat. There was something about him that kept Dean staring and staring. Staring until Mrs. Mills got up and yelled "you are dismissed!"
After class had ended, Dean headed to his locker, which was right next to a girl with short, curly red hair who was wearing a bright orange flannel and a Star Wars shirt.
"Hey!" Dean said, smirking and winking at the girl.
"Hi," the girl replied, rolling her eyes.
"So uh, what's your name? I'm Dean."
"I'm Charlie. Nice to meet you Dean," she said, emphasizing the word Dean.
They shook hands as Charlie grabbed a red binder from her locker with character names and hearts written all up the side.
"Jon Snow? Who's that your boyfriend?" Dean said with a chuckle.
She let out a noise that was a laugh but more like a snort and stared at him like he had just tried to convince her that he was a unicorn.
"Guess again, he's a character from a TV show."
"Oh yeah right, right. That TV show..."
She faced him in disbelief.
"It's called Game of Thrones dumbass. Ever heard of it?"
"Oh yeah totally. I watch it all the time," Dean says, gritting his teeth.
Charlie rolled her eyes and smirked at him.
"I think we're gonna be good friends, Dean," She says with a wink.
A girl with short brown hair ran up to her, a leather jacket clinging tightly to her skinny torso.
"Hey! Who's this?" The girl says, glaring into Dean's eyes.
"Oh, um, hi! I'm Dean it's nice to meet you."
"Alex," she says smiling.
Charlie wrapped her hand around Alex's wrist and pulled her into their next class.
Suddenly and blonde girl came walking past wearing a grey tank top and a green army jacket.
"Hey, you must be the new kid," she says. Her voice is sweet and sticky like maple syrup.
"Yeah, I'm Dean," he says smiling. The girl smiles back, parting her strawberry lips, holding out her hand.
"Jo, nice to meet you Dean."
Dean glances at his schedule to see that he has math class next. He groans. Math? Really?
"Listen, I have math next. You mind showing me where that is?"
"Of course not," she says, smiling.
All of a sudden a tall boy with short brown hair and subtle turquoise eyes walks up to Jo, putting his arms around her waist and kissing her silly. Jo giggles, but looks annoyed through her obviously forced smile.
"Adam quit it!" She says jokingly, still giggling.
Adam continues kissing her cheeks, starting to trail down her neck.
"Adam seriously!" She says, her voice deeper and louder this time.
Adam doesn't stop but instead rubs Jo's stomach and lightly nibbles on her ear.
"Adam!" She yells, pushing the boy off of her.
"What is it babe?"
"Not here. Not now. Not in public."
"Come on baby, we've been together forever. Everybody knows it."
Dean stands awkwardly, twiddling his index fingers, chewing on the inside of his mouth. He clears his throat, trying to remove the awkwardness from the situation. Adam throws him a stern look, his icy eyes like knives.
"Who's this kid? He bothering you?" Adam says, stepping slightly in front of Jo.
"What? No, no. This is Dean. He's the new kid."
Dean half-smiles at the boy, which results in the kid walking even closer to him. Adam outstretches his arms and smiles back.
"Nice to meet you Dean. I'm Adam," Adam says flashing bright white teeth.
Dean shakes Adam's hand and backs up, grabbing a black binder from his locker.
"It's nice to meet you too. I really gotta go to class though." Dean says, walking backwards.
"Um okay," Adam replies.
Dean turns around and continues walking. He had no clue where the math room is, but he trotted down the long red hallway, looking for a room that said math on it, but there was no sign of one. All of a sudden a short boy in an oversized grey sweatshirt came walking towards Dean. The boy had black hair and obvious bags under his eyes, most likely from lack of sleep. Dean tried to avoid the boy and keep walking. The last thing he wanted was to meet another person. But, the boy seemed intent and talking to Dean, so he stopped and turned around.
"Hey! You look lost."
Thanks, Dean thought. Was it really that obvious?
"You must be the new kid, Dean right?"
Dean nodded, rolling his eyes and putting his hands in the pocket of his jeans.
"I'm Kevin. I can show you around if you want."
"Um. Sure, thanks. I'm looking for the math room."
"Well I happen to be going there too! It's on the second floor."
Dean followed Kevin up the speckled blue stairs and through the large glass doors. The first room on the right was the math room. The two of them ran in, immediately looking at the clock. Shit. They were 6 minutes late. First day of school and Dean managed to already screw it up.
The teacher who had long curly hair walked up to Dean. Dean expected her to burst out screaming and yelling about how they were late, but instead flashed a welcoming smile.
"You must be Dean! I'm Ms. Barnes. Please take a seat."
Dean walked towards the nearest empty seat, and Kevin followed, but got pushed back by Ms. Barnes.
"Not you Mr. Tran. Why are you late?"
Kevin looked down and twiddled with his sweatshirt.
"I was showing the new kid around," he replied, looking at Dean.
"Mhm. Well this won't happen again, correct?"
"Yes of course Ms. Barnes," Kevin said, already walking towards an empty seat.
Ms. Barnes grinned at Kevin and chuckled. Ms. Barnes handed out graded tests to all of the students, except for Dean of course. Alex and Charlie were sitting closer to the back of the room, and they waved at him when he turned around.
"So what did you get?" Alex asked Charlie, licking her deep red lips.
"An A. How about you?" Charlie asked.
"An A+!" Alex exclaimed, smiling excitedly.
"Really?"
"Yes! I mean I studied my ass off every night. I barely even got to watch Game of Thrones."
he teacher passed out some more worksheets with numbers and letters scattered across the page. What the fuck was this? Dean had never really learned math. He left the academics to his nerdy brother, Sam. When they were little Sam and Dean would go to school frequently, and then come home and tell their parents everything they did. Every Thursday after school they would go to the zoo. John would hold Dean on his shoulders as he pointed to the animals in awe, and Mary would push around Sammy's stroller, who was fascinated by everything. It was just perfect. But then everything changed that one summer.
Dean stared at the page, mostly copying the answers off of the girl sitting next to him. He shortly realized it was the girl from the math club picture.
"Hey! I'm Dean," he says holding out his hand.
"Meg. But all of my friends call me a demon so if you hear that term, they're talking about me," she says jokingly, giggling to herself.
Dean awkwardly smiled, looking around at the other kids in the classroom. It felt so weird getting into this school so late in the year. He
Dean's thought process was interrupted by a loud ringing.
"Lunch!" A girl with long brown hair exclaims.
Dean walks out of the room, Kevin walking up towards him.
"Hey buddy!"
Dean nods and smiles, not really in the mood to speak. Kevin walks in front of him and catches up with some tall boys with blonde hair, but another boy comes walking towards Dean. Immediately Dean knows who it is. It's the boy from English. The boy zooms right past Dean, practically pushing him to the side. Dean gasps at the feeling of his cold skin. For the few milliseconds they're touching, Dean feels electricity pipe through his skin, and a feeling of weightlessness fills his body. The boy turns around looking up at Dean, his beautiful eyes looking right into his soul.
"I-I'm sorry," he whispers. His voice is low and gravelly.
"It's fine."
They stand there simply staring at each other for what feels like an eternity, before the boy turns around and starts walking again. Dean pauses for a second, then runs up to him.
"Wait!" He yells.
The boy pivots towards Dean right away.
"What's your name?" Dean asks sheepishly.
The boy looks shocked, as if he'd never been asked that question before.
"C-C-Castiel. Castiel Novak"
"Castiel, wow. That's quite the name."
"Yeah, I guess so. And you are?"
"Um, Dean. Dean Winchester."
"Oh. It's nice to meet you Dean Winchester," Castiel beams.
"Right back atcha' Castiel Novak."
