a gratitude/follow forever post!
Tumblr media
Seeing as it’s been a few, good months since I’ve created this Stiles blog, I wanted to take the time to admire some of my writing partners and followers. While I have yet to really reach a certain number of them, no real achievement for that, it’s not about how many people follow me but rather, the content you guys have given me and allowed me to write with you. So, since it’s nearing the end of the year, I wanted to love on everyone who has given me such joy writing Stiles and those of you who genuinely brighten my days. This post is going to be a loooong one, feel free to skip it if you like.
✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧ ✧
@lionheartedxvixen [+every single blog you have, girl]; Nelly, you are already aware of how much I love you since I love to be a cheeseball and just tell you from time to time. I’ve written plenty of those corny posts over the years on my personal blog, every single time we wrapped up another year and hit another milestone together. Your 13+ years of friendship has and always will be something I cherish, something I’ll honestly carry with me forever. And, I adore your portrayals of every character you’ve ever written! Every interaction we’ve ever had has always left me excited and wanting more (yeah, I’m greedy, sue me). From Brucas, to Brachel, Steroline, Steferine, Forbinski, Barlia and Stalia (plus the many other friendships, family, enemies, whatever!), I adore them all. You will always be my best friend and I’m always gonna wanna follow you to new places, give our muses new adventures and just love the hell out of you and your writing. Thank you for everything you do and have done for me. I truly believe you’re like one of my soul mates.
@kisscflife; Moira, even though we don’t interact too often, I love you and appreciate all your support and genuine love for me. Your support has been so important to me this last year, especially with my transitioning. I want you to know that I greatly appreciate it and I’m glad we get along so well now. I’m blessed to call you a sister, but you’re always also going to be a friend. You should also know that your writing is amazing and you’re far more talented than you believe. You put a lot of thought into your OCs, which I love about them all. And I love laughing at the crack ideas of our characters, even if we don’t always make threads for them or write them out. Just the actual thought of some of the things we’ve talked and laughed about makes my day, every time. Don’t be hard on yourself, you are loved.
@ofherblueeyes; Effy, my Stiles muse was half alive, half dead when you approached me about wanting to plot something and write together. My activity has now gone through the roof once more and I’m serious that you are partially to blame for this! I’m already having far too much fun with every thread we have made. They give me the feels, the joy, the sobs, the pain, the giggles, EVERYTHING. Thanks for reaching out and giving me the opportunity to write with you! Your Malia seriously makes me laugh and smile, and those damn painful posts make me wanna give her a hug. Or, rather, let Stiles (or even now Isaac) love on her! I look forward to more fun ideas, whether they’re on tumblr or discord, I don’t care. JUST GIVE ME EVERYTHING!
@literally-lydia;  Kaliya, you were the first Lydia player who wanted to interact with Stiles on my mumu. While we haven’t written much lately, you are far too sweet for words and the time you spend writing out these replies really shows how much you love your muse. I enjoy reading your replies, though we haven’t done too much yet, you also make me smile in pms! Thank you for enjoying my Stiles and my writing, ‘cause I appreciate you and yours, too!
@kanima-claws; Jackson constantly either amuses or produces such feelings in me. Your writing and the amount of love you pour into him really shines, it just makes me miss the damn guy so much! Our thread hasn’t seen the light of day for a while (because I have been so bad at remembering and switched blogs and blah), but it is easily one of my favorites! Especially since Jackson ripped into Stiles about the Star Wars figures and pretty much thinks he’s the biggest loser known to mankind. ROFL I can’t wait to explore their dynamic more and just have all the funny things and hope they can learn to get along. I mean, they need to at some point. Thanks for being so sweet out of character as well, you are a geeeem in the rpc. I mean that!
@bansheeintuition; Stephanie, oh my word, you are beyond talented at what you do. Every reply you respond with honestly blows me away because of your writing style and your grasp on Lydia. Our zombie AU literally became my obsession for some time and I adored it so much! The descriptions, the dialogue, just everything was so vivid and beautiful that it really was brought to life! I know we haven’t interacted too much since but I am always down for plotting and writing together because I love your portrayal and blog to bits! You are also far too sweet out of character, and so considerate and friendly whenever we’ve chatted, be it through tumblr or discord. Thank you for loving on Stiles and allowing me to bring him to life with your Lydia. <3
@thewailer; Kate, UGH our thread and plot makes me stoked! I know it’s been slow going and you’re currently on hiatus, but just plotting it out and the overall feel of it and ideas for it are so great, I literally want to bask in all of it forever and a day. I love AUs and this idea is like, the AU of the century! Stydia investigating supernatural/paranormal things in the 1940s? Yessssss. Grabby hands! Gimmie! I love that you send in memes and answer them as well and just put so much effort into your portrayal and writing! Your muse gives me muse and gives me the creativity to want to write better. Plus, I love answering those memes and making little headcanons about Stydia (like the one where they blindfolded each other in the woods!). Thanks for being great out of character as well, and so patient with me when I had been away for a while. I look forward to you on my dash when you return and I hope life is treating you well!
@deadbrcther; Uggggh, your Isaac literally makes me MELT! Isaac is my absolute favorite next to Stiles and your writing really brings him to life. I know we haven’t written much together but I also admire him from afar and just enjoying being able to see him (and Noah) on my dash, whenever you’re around! Yes, I read their interactions at times, just to silently sob about how much Isaac deserved and didn’t get. I need more Stisaac in my life as well, and am always interested in them if you’d want to plot or work on something! :D
@ofnoblehunt / @haleontheprowl; Rachel, I honestly didn’t think I needed more Stallison in my life, or even Stora but, your writing and muses are too good and I would honestly love to do more together! Those memes and your replies, even though we literally barely started interacting together, really gave me some legit feels. You’re also fun to chat with ooc and while we haven’t lately, I hope you’re doing well! I look forward to writing more together in the future and will love on both girls for as long as I can. :3
@willsavethem; Meaghan, let me tell you something about Scott McCall and your portrayal of him: I. LOVE. YOU. Honestly, I get so excited whenever I see him on my dashboard and whenever you reply to just about anything possible. I would definitely love to pick up some more Sciles and am always up for working on something together. Just know that I creep on your posts and bask in them from afar because he is far too precious for this world and deserves all the good things.
@perfectioncursed; Beth, I haven’t even watched Riverdale yet, tbh, but Betty and Stiles give me liiiiife! -insert a sobbing face- While I know they’ve only had the few interactions, just their banter lifts me up and makes me want to explore their dynamic more. I wanted to appreciate you also as a writer, because I do peep on those posts when I see Betty on my dash. 👀 I love her and the fact that she would totally write a list about Stiles. (Plus, you know, that time he finally caved and let her look at his broken down Jeep? Yeah, that was greeeeat!) I look forward to more things, honestly. Feel free to throw anything at me, I’m game!
@oftroubledsouls; Just chatting about Sterek the other day honestly made me so happy. Like, I know we haven’t interacted yet as I just took that Derek starter but, ugh. I am looking forward to it! Like, I need that goodness in Stiles’ life and it’s just gonna be a good time, I feel it. I also love seeing your muses on my dash and read them whenever I can. :) Feel free to hop into pms at anytime, even if just to ramble with me about Sterek and how much chemistry they had, UNF.
@leftinthedcst; Kait, your blog on my dash makes me so happy! I like to read most of your interactions, as I find them so engrossing and just fun to see. Your characters are on point and while we haven’t interacted all that much, I would love to do that and plot some things out. I just wanted to take a moment to admire you because you deserve it and I hope you have a wonderful day. <3
other honorable mentions and people I either have chatted with/would love to plot with/simply adore on my dash are; @supernaturaliisms, @survivingpierce, @redemptivexheroics, @tooxmanyxfaces, @rosefromdeath, @changedback, @astormofagirl, @monxsterxhunxters, @vandbaerer.
Honestly, if you aren’t mentioned and I follow you or we have yet to break the ice, just know that I followed you because I’m interested in your blog/your muse(s) and would love to establish something together! My followers list is honestly not that long at all, it’s barely 50 people rofl but every single one of you is there for a reason and I adore the heck out of you all. <3 Thanks for being you, for enjoying and following Stiles and giving me so much to look forward to when it comes to being in the rpc.

Snakes and Ladders
Summary: Deceit goes to confront Dark about messing around in Deceit’s business. It’s not exactly how Deceit thought he’d be spending his birthday.
The League was a carefully walked tightrope. With people like Wilford and Anti who could be as murderous as they were impulsive, and Google who had his own murderous streak to boot, a villain or any renown or ability had to learn to read the room.
Deceit prided himself on being the best at reading any situation he was in. The Light Sides had taught him a couple things: they were never going to trust a known liar; and two, he wouldn’t last. Patton’s crutch was to be ethically accepted, and Logan refused to help Deceit convinced Patton that he was wrong. Then there was Roman. Gullible, excitable, energetic Roman.
The League was the only beneficial choice for him and Remus.
So he was standing in the hollowed out shell of the abandoned orphanage that the police had tried to investigate before it had been set on fire. So he was standing in it, an illusion over the dark Side to make him look like a perfect copy of Dark on the outside. However because of the fact he didn’t know Dark nearly as well as he knew the other Sides it was more like an outer shell at best. If he tried to use Dark’s pockets it would shatter the illusion almost completely because they weren’t functional.
It took a bit longer than Deceit thought it would for Dark to confront him.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Dark growled at him, stepping out of the Void.
Deceit made a show of checking a watch on his wrist, “Getting your attention. We’re overdue a long conversation.”
Dark clasped his hands behind his back, “If I wanted to have a conversation with myself I would have brought a mirror and just took your head off your shoulders instead.”
The trickster side just smiled, and turned back into himself. His typical smug look on his face. “I needed a place the heroes wouldn’t overhear. A place they gave up on seemed like a good location.
The Entity still didn’t look too impressed, motioning with a hand for Deceit to continue. An air of impatience heavy in the room, a shrill ringing that always accompanied Dark’s presence. “Leave Anxiety to me, he was my apprentice, he is my problem. Stay out of it.”
Dark chuckled a bit, as if finding this conversation endearing instead of insultive. He took a couple Something Dee didn’t believe for a second. “You were a big fish in a very small pond. So I suggest you tread very carefully before I throw you off this building and see how functional you can make your illusions.”
Deceit dared to scoff, taking his own step or two forward. “Remus would stop listening to you if you did, I am the only one who could ever hope to contain him. Unless you want a fourth chaotic entity in the city you have to manage, I don’t think I’ve run all the sand in my hourglass out quiet yet.
The greyscale Entity seemed to give it some actual thought, but whether he was seriously considering just following through with murder or just maiming Deceit wasn’t clear, “Careful, shapeshifter, overstep your bounds too much and you might get your toes cut off. That’s usually not very lethal.”
“What are you using Anxiety for, you’ve killed more important to you over less?” Deceit demanded.
“Virgil has some sort of honor to him, very useful, if a bit gullible,” Dark bragged. “How you thought he was ever suited for the League is beyond me, it was obvious for me from day one that he lacked both the bite and the determination needed.”
“They why humor us?” Deceit scoffed, not showing the visible discomfort he had at Dark knowing Virgil’s chosen name. “His powers?”
Dark chuckled at that, “That might be true, if he wasn’t obviously petrified of his own power. No, it got boring to watch him fumble about and it became abundantly clear to all of us that you have no plans on following him.”
“If you have no need for him within the League, leave Anxiety out of your business,” Deceit warned. “You have enough thugs.”
“Oh, you and the heroes can have him back, after he completes his end of the bargain,” Dark threatened. “I gave him a chance to back out, and he didn’t take it.”
“If he’s done, I suppose you’ll be done to him?” Deceit asked.
At Deceit’s words, Dark just laughed. “Yes, I suppose, no matter what he returns to me with, I doubt he’ll be of much further use to me. Not with that pathetic doctor and the rest of the heroes taking pity on him. You should have been rid of him years ago.”
“And should be rid of that puppet you have at city hall,” Deceit warned. “You can practically see its hinges and strings when you move it.”
“My business is not of your concern,” Dark growled.
“Leave Anxiety be, and I won’t care about what you do at city hall,” Deceit threatened back.
Dark just smiled again, and Deceit decided that Dark’s smile was probably his most obvious lie he had. They were dangerously close, but Deceit made sure not to flinch. The Entity was obviously waiting for it, like a wolf surveyed a herd for its old and feeble.
“Then you better help him find what I want, so that you can have him back,” Dark ordered. “Like I said, he’s unfit for the League.”
“You better,” Deceit reminded.
“Well I have to say,” Dark’s smile didn’t fade, neither had the ringing. “You never cease to amaze me, Deceit. You and your little attempts to undermine me. If you weren’t so useful, I probably would have killed you by now. But I’ll offer you this, I’ll give you back Virgil if you can tell me one thing.”
“Which is?” Deceit was eager to just be done with this whole mess.
“I want Captain Morality’s real name,” Dark told him. “Or I want him brought to me alive. I can have him unmasked either way.”
It took every ounce of control and illusions not to show any type of emotion. Not the concern and actual fear he felt at whatever had gotten Patton of all people singled out by Dark and not Logic. Or the desperate clawing need to get Virgil untangled from Dark’s network.
So he managed a chuckle, “Morality? What could that manchild be doing that could threaten you or your Network?”
Dark didn’t like that, his aura starting to curl around Deceit’s feet, “It is my belief that he’s seen something. I aim to figure out what he knows and strangle it out of him. The issue is, as far as Gainesville documents suggest, he has no paper trail beyond his superheroics. Which couldn’t possibly be true, because Average and Marvin have paper trails, so Morality is either being hidden by someone.”
Deceit felt a dangerous tap at his chest, glancing down to see Dark’s aura before casually looking back at Dark’s face.
“Or he’s not nearly who I think he is, and I’m looking in the wrong place.”
“So, I get you the oblivious Captain, and Anxiety is mine?” Deceit inclined his head, going for nonchalance.
“Immediately,” Dark promised, still smiling.
“I’ll give it some thought,” Deceit dismissed. “Morality is no threat, and I’m more intrigued by your need to have him over his cohorts, than turning him in.”
“Either way, I will find what I want to know,” Dark took a step away. “Besides, you’ve given me enough information to start.”
“Best of luck,” Deceit smiled.
Then Dark stepped through a tear in the Void, leaving Deceit “alone” with nothing but the city below and silence.
Checking the streets, Deceit turned into Logic in full costume and left the scene. A couple citizens tried to stop him, but Deceit gave his best impersonation of the side he knew all too well.
He just went back to the apartment he’d been staying at with the other Dark Sides. He felt drained and didn’t want to loop Dark around to Patton. As frustrating and infuriating as all the “Light Sides” could be, they were still Sides. Deceit still needed Virgil if he was ever going to form the Dragon Witch again. The serpentine Side was almost positive that if he was ever going to be Thomas again he needed Logan.
The instant he walked in, Remus physically jumped on him. The unexpected attack almost knocking Deceit over.
“Do you mind?” Deceit glared at him. He took stock of the apartment to find that, to his amazement it wasn’t completely trashed. Orange was on the couch, watching the Room, ignoring both of them.
“Hey, Dee,” Remus smiled, face dangerously close to Deceit’s.
Deceit grumbled, “Remus, you need to take a bath, you smell like sour garbage.”
The dark green villain just smiled, “Why thank you Dee, I’ve been dying to know when you would recognize my new cologne.”
He gave a little shoulder shimmy against Deceit’s arm.
“Ugh,” Deceit pushed him away. “Get off of me, before you make me smell like you.”
“So how’d the meeting go?” Remus asked.
“As well as could be expected,” Deceit took off his fedora to get some ash from the burned out shell he’d been in off of it. “Virgil’s gotten himself into trouble and Patton is not helping.”
“When will they learn to enjoy life?” Remus jumped onto the little table they had, assuming what he usually called his “paint me like one of your French boys” pose. “They’re no fun, Patton least of all. I mean, he’s even making Virge boring.”
Before Deceit could do anything more than stare at his hat, trying to figure out how to frantically dig the other Sides out of the hole they were digging for all of them, Remus took the fedora and placed it on his own head.
“Look at me,” Remus said in a poorly constructed Deceit impresion, even holding his hand up to pretend like it was talking. “I’m Deceit, I whine about everything, and worry too much to have any fun. Blah. Blah. Blah.”
Deceit glared at him, “Give me my hat back.”
Remus shrugged and took it off, reaching his whole arm inside the hat. Which was a talent that would have worried Deceit if he hadn’t become completely desensitized to it years ago. His face scrunched up and Deceit was mentally braced for the intrusive Side to pull out just about anything. He’d once reached in and used his powers to pull out a dead pigeon for a laugh, and that was currently on the hopeful end of Deceit’s expectations.
But to Deceit’s surprise he pulled out a beautiful lion heart lily. The yellow tips perfectly curled. The black and yellow flower looking out of place in Remus’s hand. Remus handed the hat, now looking like it was full of the black and yellow lilies, and knelt on the table to place the lily he’d been holding behind Deceit’s ear. “Happy birthday, my little snake.”
Deceit was completely speechless, just staring at Remus as he took his hat back, looking down at the flowers. Finally he managed out a, “Thank you.”
As if completely unaware of the effect he was having on the other Side, he jumped off the table like a feral raccoon, almost knocking the whole thing over.
“I’m bored, let’s go bother Roman,” Remus decided.
“Sure,” Deceit smiled at the flowers, gathering all five of them put in his hand to admire them.
“Then we can steal and ice cream truck,” Remus grinned.
“Sure,” Deceit was still admiring the flowers, remember to take the lily behind his ear and place it in the vase with the others.
“And drive it into the hero’s base,” he summoned a glass vase with skulls and snakes on it.”
“Sounds like fun,” Deceit place the flowers inside the vase. He carefully set it on the kitchen counter.
“Come on,” Remus told him, grabbing his hand in his. “Ory, try to burn the house down for me, I never got around to it.”
Orange flipped him off, but Deceit could only laugh, his mood greatly improved.
“Let’s go,” Remus pulled him out of the apartment, the two off to cause trouble.
With a hand still tangled in Remus’s, Deceit had to admit, as frustrating as Remus could be, he was a familiar type of frustrating. And the Deceit would take that over any type of villain or hero in the city.

Better than Perfect
You meet a cute rapper at the BBMAs.
Request: I would like to request a Yoongi x Reader Oneshot in which the reader is a young Singer-Songwriter and they meet at the BBMAs (it’s the readers first time there) :)
Pairing: Yoongi x Reader
Word Count: 3.7k
Genre: Flooooffy fluff
|mlist|
“You’re kidding.”
Sana shakes her head, biting her lip to hold back a grin. “Cross my heart. You’re nominated for Top New Artist!”
“Oh my god!” you shriek, jumping up and down. “I didn’t think– I can’t believe–”
“Hey, you earned this.” Sana’s eyes go from gleeful to focused in a second. “Now, we need to take advantage of this while we can. You’re not performing, which is fine– it is only your first time there. As for your outfit … I can cash in a lot of favors to get you something from Gucci’s new line, and then we have to practice interview questions… I think we can find you a late night spot–“
“Sounds great,” you interrupt, clapping your hands. If you let Sana go into Full Agent Mode, she won’t come back for a while. “I’m gonna head to the studio, text me when I can, y’know, do anything.”
Sana nods, gripping your arm. “Alright. Y/n, I can’t tell you how happy I am for you.”
You blink hard to hold back tears. “Th-thanks.”
“Get going, superstar.”
Twenty minutes later finds you in the extra room that you converted into a music studio when you first moved to the city. Biting your lip, you scribble lyrics into your battered notebook. Sure, you can dance– sort of– and singing is a strength of yours, but for you it’s always been about the lyrics. Nothing matters more to you than the message you send, and finding the perfect rhythm and syllable count to convey that message is always your goal. You’re just working on a new song, tapping out a beat on your thigh, when your phone rings.
“Hello?”
“AAAAAAAH!”
You laugh. “Hi, Sunmi.”
“You got nominated oh my god I’m so proud I’m already crying why didn’t you tell me?!”
You lean back in your chair. “I found out less than an hour ago, girlfriend.”
“That’s literally too long,” Sunmi whines. “I need time to plan your BBMA-winning party.”
“You know for a fact that I won’t win– my first nomination? No way.”
“You’re winning or I’m fighting you,” Sunmi insists. “You’re good, y/n, really good. You just need to go to the BBMAs and be your beautiful badass talented self and they’ll be throwing trophies at you.”
“Sounds terrifying.”
Sunmi scoffs. “Not as terrifying as me if my best friend doesn’t win. Call me when you’re getting ready for the BBMAs so I can help out.”
“Will do,” you laugh.
“Oh, and do you know Korean?”
To anyone else, it’s a weird question, but you’ve always been a polyglot– you pick up languages with ease. You’re fluent in English, Japanese, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin, and Russian.
“Not too well, but I’ll practice. Why do you ask?”
You hear Sunmi giggle. “Definitely practice, and no reason.”
You sigh in bemusement before hanging up and going back to your lyrics. You’re working on a power ballad, and you’re struggling with the balance between empowerment and unkindness. As much as you’d like to be strong and opinionated in your songs, you can’t afford controversey right now. “Having something doesn’t mean anything… I’m mine alone, don’t need a ring.” You stare at the words before scrunching up your nose and crossing them out. The lyrics need to be perfect.
Time passes, and soon enough the awards show is in less than a week. You’ve spent the last month practicing everything– interview questions, polite clapping, walking in heels, and (just in case) an acceptance speech. You’ve also worked on memorizing the names and faces of all the other nominees. It’s a lot, but at least you can prepare.
“Who would you love to collaborate with?” Sunmi reads from an index card.
“Probably Ariana Grande,” you reply with a smile. “She seems amazing.” Breaking character, you shake your head. “Was that too vague?”
“I think you’re good,” Sunmi replies, tossing the index card aside and reaching for the next one. “Sana told you to be vague, after all.” She squints at the latest question. “How does it feel to be nominated for Top New Artist alongside blah, blah blah?”
You giggle at your friend’s impatience. “It’s a huge honor. It still doesn’t feel real…” you falter, reaching for the perfect words. “Uh, I can’t believe it–”
Sunmi shakes her head. “Nope. You can believe it, remember? You can’t act like you’re not good enough.”
You squeeze your eyes shut. “But I’m not. I’m not perfect enough–”
Your friend rolls her eyes. “When are you gonna stop thinking that? You’ve worked ridiculously hard. You’re the most talented person I know. Get over yourself, because you deserve this.”
You inhale shakily at her words. “Yeah. Yeah, you’re right.”
“Good. Now I’ve got to get going, and don’t you have a meeting with Sana? Good luck,” Sunmi says, blowing you a kiss. “Dedicate your Grammy award to me in a few years.”
You smile at your friend. “Of course.”
As soon as she leaves, you get a text from Sana: My office. Now.
Faster than you think is humanly possible, you find yourself in Sana’s office.
“What’s… wrong…?” you pant, leaning on the wall. Sana looks up from her desk.
“Hm? Oh, nothing,” she says. “I just wanted you here quickly so I could show you these.”
With a flourish she holds up a set of clothes hangers.
“This is what you’re wearing to the airport,” she murmurs distractedly, handing you a stylish outfit. “These two are for your late night interviews, I forget which… Oh, this is for after the awards show, I got you an invite to Justin Beiber’s afterparty… aha!” she pulls out a dress, and your jaw drops.
You’re looking at the most gorgeous black dress you’ve ever seen, a dress shimmering as the light hits it.
“Isn’t it too much?” you whisper in awe. You reach out, but you’re scared to touch it. The cloth looks more expensive than you’ll ever be.
“Nah, you’re gonna wow them. Trust me on this,” Sana winks. “Wigs’ll be flying as soon as you show up.”
You take the dress, stroking the fabric in awe. “I hope you’re right.”
“Aaaand I’m joined by y/n l/n, who’s been making a splash in the charts! Y/n, how does it feel to be nominated for Top New Artist alongside such amazing new stars?”
“It still doesn’t feel real, honestly,” you laugh, alternating eye contact with the red carpet interviewer and the camera. Around you… so this is the hustle and bustle before an awards show. “I’m honored.”
“And who are you wearing tonight?”
You smile graciously. “Gucci.” Giving you just a hint of cleavage and hugging your curves in all the right places, you’ve never felt more powerful.
“Well, you look great, and best of luck to you tonight!”
You’re about to thank the interviewer when a sudden chorus of screams makes you jump. What the hell? You strain your ears, making out a consistent cheer.
“BTS! BTS! BTS! BTS!”
Holy shit, they’re here. You’ve done your fair share of googling on the nominees– BTS is easily the biggest boy band in the world, known for their dedicated fanbase. You’ve listened to some of their songs, and they’re talented to say the least– but you don’t have time to get distracted, as you’re soon approached by another interviewer.
Your feet are aching by the time the cameras follow the guests inside, and you’re led to your seat. Why a barely known singer like you has been seated in the very front row, you don’t understand, but you’re not complaining– Sana will be squealing at the additional screentime.
The front row is barely filled in by the time you sit down. There are seven empty seats to your right, and you’re left twiddling your thumbs, your body tense with nervous energy.
A few minutes later, you hear the roar of another thousand teenage girls, and you twist around. Looks like BTS has entered the building, and when one of the members raises their hand to wave the volume of the screams increases tenfold.
You stare in awe. That’s what it means to be famous. These guys… these guys have made it. They’re perfect. They’re talented. They’re… sitting next to you?
You hold your breath as the members settle in their seats. Beside you, if those Wikepedia articles you read are correct, is Suga. He’s… wow, he really is even more attractive in person.
You keep your eyes trained on the stage as the MC of the night begins to talk, but you can’t help but focus your attention on your peripheral vision. You’re entranced by the ethereal beauty of the men beside you.
“And we’ll be right back!” you hear the MC say, snapping you out of your fog. The first commercial break already?
You turn, and you’ve never been more grateful to your best friend– you’ve been focusing on Korean ever since Sunmi mentioned it, so that now…
“Hello,” you say to Suga.
He notices, his eyes widening in surprise. “You speak Korean?”
You hold your thumb and index an inch apart. “A little bit. I’m learning.”
“Hyung, we’re getting some drinks,” one of the members– RM, perhaps?– says. “You coming?”
“In a second,” Suga replies, his eyes trained on you. Something in his gaze sends shivers down your spine.
“You should go with them,” you breathe as the members file away. “The cameras will want to see you all together.”
“The cameras see us together enough,” Suga says, leaning back and folding his arms. “How do you know Korean?”
You shrug. “I’m good with languages. My friend told me to improve my Korean–” you laugh. “Now I know why.”
Suga smiles. It’s a cute smile: his lips pull up above his gums and his catlike eyes sparkle with delight. Inside your chest your heart flutters, but you calm yourself– you’re not here to pick up guys, and idols like him basically can’t date anyways–
“Are you nominated or here as a guest?” he asks.
“Oh, uh, I’m nominated for Top New Artist,” you say, beginning the sentence in Korean and finishing in English. “I’m small fry.”
Suga raises his brows. “Seems like a big deal.”
“Not as big as you,” you reply. “Top Social Artist, right? That’s impressive.”
“Yeah.” Suga tries for a smile, but his eyes dull a bit.
“Is… is something wrong?”
“Ah, no.” Suga rubs his temples. “It’s just… don’t get me wrong, a BBMA is a huge honor for a foreign group like us, but I feel like people care more about our fanbase than our music.”
He shakes his head, covering his face with his hands. “Aah, that sounded bad, sorry.”
“Not at all,” you reassure him. “Trust me, I’m a songwriter, and I get more questions about my outfits than my lyrics. It can be frustrating, huh?”
“You write your own songs?”
You open your mouth to reply when the lights start flickering to signal the commercial break’s end. The other members of BTS return to their seats as the MC takes the stage once more to introduce the next performer.
“Are you performing?” Suga whispers while the audience applauds.
“God, I wish. I’m not nearly famous enough,” you whisper back. “You are, aren’t you?”
“Yeah.” Suga winks at you, and you blush happily. “Look forward to it.”
You feel your phone buzz and you check it discreetly.
Sana: Quit flirting, there are cameras on you.
Your head snaps up and you notice the familiar red blinking lights of dozens of cameras around the grand room, some of them apparently trained on you. Or rather, you acknowledge, trained on the members of BTS.
You focus on the stage once more, glueing a smile to your face as two more trophies are awarded.
“After the break, Ariana Grande is back with her latest single!” The MC says, smiling brightly into the camera. “Coming up, Top Social Artist and Top New Artist. We’ll be right back!”
As soon as the lights brighten to signify they’re no longer broadcasting, you lean over to Suga.
“Gee, I wonder who’s gonna win Top Social Artist,” you tease.
Suga shakes his head bemuseadly. “No clue.”
“Turn around and make a heart with your hands,” you suggest. “Every single scream is a vote for you winning. And I’ve heard some of your stuff, you guys deserve it. Your lyricist should get a raise.”
Yoongi laughs. “I’ll tell the others, but I think we’re pretty well off already.”
“Huh?”
“Me, Namjoon, and Hobi-ssi, sometimes the others– we write and produce a lot of our music.”
“Really?” you ask in wonder. “I thought… I mean, you’re such big stars…”
Suga shrugs. “We love the music as much as the performance. Could you ever quit songwriting?”
“Never,” you reply instantly, and you’re about to say something else when the lights dim again. Suga turns back to the stage and for a second you can’t help but be struck by his side profile. He truly is inhumanly beautiful. And funny, and kind, and passionate… he is perfection, you decide.
Another buzz from your phone.
Sana: If u keep staring at him ur gonna be a meme before midnight smh
Blinking guiltily, you tune in just in time to hear the MC finish up the nominations for Top Social Artist.
“…and BTS!”
The accompanying screams drown out any hope you have of wishing Suga luck.
“And the Billboard Music Award goes to…”
You cross your fingers behind your back. Sure, you only met Suga this evening, but there’s something about him that makes you feel as though he’s an old friend. You want him to win.
“BTS!”
You clap politely as a clip of the group’s latest single begins playing. Suga turns and says something to you before standing, but it’s lost amid the rabid screams of the fangirls. The septet files onstage to accept the award and RM makes a speech, all graciousness and gratitude. When the music swells once more the group disappears backstage to take pictures, and a sudden realization turns your blood to ice: your category is next.
The MC makes a short introduction full of scripted puns and half-clever witticisms before introducing the nominees for Top New Artist. You’re screaming inside as you hear your name:
“…and y/n l/n!”
From the crowd you can hear the yells of some of your fans or those that’ve heard your latest single. The song blew up way past expectation, landing you this nomination.
“And the Billboard Music Award goes to…”
Time slows down. Or does it speed up? Are you even breathing? You don’t think so. Your skin prickles in anticipation and your heartbeat is deafening, but the cameras are trained on you and so all you do is smile hopefully, twining your fingers together. It’s fine. You won’t win, no way. It’s fine.
“Y/n l/n!”
Huh? You’re frozen for a second, surely you misheard, for a second you thought they’d announced your name, and around you people are clapping and the guy to your left is nudging you forward and when you stand up the cheers get louder and wait a second they’re cheering for you.
You walk– actually, you practically float– to the stage. Do you really deserve it?
You accept the trophy from the MC and step up to the mic.
“Wow.” You look at the audience and swallow. You have precious few minutes to speak, and you’ll use them.
“Every moment of my life is spent working towards becoming perfect,” you say. “Whenever I get close, ‘perfect’ seems to get farther away. And I’ve realized that being an artist means not being perfect, but being better. Thank you to my parents, my amazing agent Sana, of course Sunmi. Y’all make me better.” You smile at the camera. “But my biggest thanks have to go to my fans. You inspire me every day to become better, and you make me believe that I can be better. Every note, every lyric– that’s all you guys. Thank you!”
You walk backstage to the sound of applause, swelling with pride.
“Y/n! Over here!” A photographer waves you over, motioning to a backdrop. “Could you stand right here? Hold up the trophy– like that, perfect! Okay, we’re good. You can get back to your chair now. Door’s that way.”
Well, that was easy. You head in the direction the photographer indicated, turning a sharp corner and suddenly bumping into someone.
“Oh! My bad, I– oh.” You’ve accidentally run into another member of BTS– Jimin, you think?
You switch to Korean. “Sorry, I should’ve watched where I was going.”
The singer’s expression changes to delight at your words. “Yoongi hyung, is this the girl you mentioned?”
Suga suddenly appears from behind Jimin, and you let out a surprised squeak.
Suga chuckles. “Yeah, she was sitting next to me. Had the nerve to say she wasn’t fluent.” He eyes you teasingly.
You decide to ignore his snark. “What are you guys doing back here?”
“Jimin-ssi had to use the restroom, and I wanted to greet the top new artist,” Suga says with a smirk. “Whoever it may be.”
“Bullshit, you heard me win,” you reply.
He shrugs, and you notice Jimin has already hastened back to his seat. “Maybe I wanted to chat,” Suga continues. “Without the cameras, because I’ve already gotten scolded for talking to you so much.”
You laugh. “Hey, me too.”
“We never really introduced ourselves,” Suga says. He offers you his hand and you shake. “I’m Min Yoongi– Yoongi’s my first name– I’m a rapper, lyricist, and overall pretty average person.”
“Y/n l/n,” you reply. “Singer, lyricist, and overall incredibly awkward nerd.”
Yoongi laughs, a surprised and mirthful sound that makes your heart skip a beat.
“Are you going to an afterparty?” you blurt out.
Yoongi thinks. “Joonie mentioned… yeah, I think so, if our managers are okay with it.” He clucks his tongue. “Parties here are hard, with only one translator. It doesn’t give us a lot of freedom to move around.”
“That’s a shame,” you say, sudden confidence overtaking you. He’s been nothing but flirtatious all night, why shouldn’t you reciprocate? “If we were going to the same party, I could be your personal translator for the entire night.”
Yoongi looks at you, a mischivious glint in his eye. “Whose afterparty are you going to?”
“Justin Beiber’s.”
“Huh. Well, c’mon, we have to get back to our seats,” Yoongi says, gesturing to the backstage exit.
Just as you open the door, you hear the MC’s voice: “We’ll be right back!”
“A commercial break already?” you hiss at Yoongi, and he shrugs.
“To them, it’s all money, isn’t it?”
“Hyung!” RM suddenly rushes up to Yoongi. “We need to get changed, we’re on after the next two awards!”
Good luck, you mouth at Yoongi as RM leads him away.
Thanks, he mouths back, winking.
You settle in your seat as the commercial break ends and the next two awards are given away. From time to time you smile randomly– how could you not? Yoongi is by far the most attractive man you’ve ever met and he’s more than attractive; he’s just so cute…
You’re snapped out of your stupor by the announcement of the next performance: “And here’s the record-smashing phenomenon with their latest single. Give it up for BTS!”
After the performance, you’re still in a daze. They were just so good. You couldn’t help but be captivated by Yoongi’s raps. Whatever he may think, you’re not fluent, and so you only got about seventy percent of his verse but still it was so good…
You’re still thinking about it when you’re led to your trailer to change into your afterparty outfit, a tight-fitting but not uncomfortable cocktail dress. You’re still thinking about it when you arrive at the party location with no clue as to how you got there. You’re standing in Justin Beiber’s living room, positively dumbstruck, when you feel a tap on your shoulder. You whirl around to see–
“Yoongi!” you want more than anything to give him a quick hug, but you refrain. The other members surround him.
“Hi, I’m y/n,” you introduce yourself nervously. That much beauty at once is intimidating.
Yoongi says something quickly to the other members in a dialect you don’t understand, and the six of them surreptitiously melt into the crowd.
“What was that?”
Yoongi smirks. “I was promised a personal translator. I don’t want to share you tonight.”
Somehow his words sound far from innocent. “Whatever you’re thinking, I’m not that kind of girl,” you warn him.
Yoongi snorts. “I was gonna ask if you wanted to go for a walk in the backyard. Don’t worry, I’ll keep my hands to myself.” As if to prove his point, he jams his hands into his pockets.
You giggle, following him onto the perfectly manicured lawn. You and Yoongi stay outside for hours or maybe days, and at some point you look down and notice his fingers intertwined with your own.
“Didn’t you say you’d keep your hands to yourself?” you ask, raising an eyebrow.
“Do you want me to?”
The word is out of your mouth before you have time to regret it: “No.”
Yoongi grins widely. “You’re too smart for a hurried party hookup. I have an idea, if you’re interested… it might mean we can see each other after I fly home?”
“Tell me.”
“Want to collaborate? I heard that clip of you singing earlier, god, I could write a thousand songs for that voice of yours.”
“Collaborate… with you? On a song?”
“Not if you don’t want to,” Yoongi says hurriedly.
The human embodiment of perfection– better than perfection– is asking to collaborate. “Are you kidding? It’s the opportunity of a lifetime, in more ways than one.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
You lean towards Yoongi until your noses are mere centimeters apart. The space between your bodies feels electric. “Whatever you want it to.”
A/N thanks for the request, @minanna01! I hope I did your vision justice. As always, my inbox is open and feedback is welcome and appreciated :)

Top 5 favorite things about me (hello i'm a needy bitch 😙)
ummm wtf? just? 5? how even? im assuming you mean 5 things apart from the things i am not to share on tumblr :)
well my number one favorite thing of all time is your laugh. like it is literally the most beautiful thing in the world. like i’d go to war for that laugh because it is the most fucking adorable thing i’ve ever heard, and i want to just hear it forever. it makes everything so much better, and trust me, i need that kind of thing often.
uhhh second thing? i mean, you and i share the same salt? most days? like i dont know we agree on a lot of things. we ghostwrite a lot of each other’s Moods, and even if we agree to disagree, we do come to some type of agreement. but most times, we just think the same, and i think that’s super dope. sometimes our jokes are just on point, and your puns, despite me acting hella annoyed, are super endearing, and i would not change a thing about you.
how excited you get about the smallest things? like seriously? mountains? and like, the zoo? really baby, the zoo? that’s fucking adorable ! and then the lion king play. like you just really do get excited about things you enjoy, and i love that because it is so pure, and this world needs more of that
you’re just ride or die? like i know you would do anything for me and obviously i would too but this is not about me. but like you’re just so supportive, and you’re there when i need it, and even if you don’t have anything to say, you’re present and i know you’re there. but you are just so willing to indulge me in whatever idea i have in my head and i think that is amazing. we share so much whether in rp or out of it, and that’s precious
you are just so talented. not just writing either. i mean you’re writing is fucking beautiful, and i love it, but in addition to that, after all the stories you’ve told me, you’re just so damned multifaceted and amazing, and i love it. i want to hear about all the things you’ve done and the places you’ve been. i mean you’ve answered a lot of my questions, and i really appreciate that. i like learning from you, and it makes me hope i can do the same for you. but god i just love us bettering each other intellectually.
BONUS: i think you really are the sweetest person in the world. like i know you say you’re punk rock blah blah blah, but like, you are so sweet and amazing and i know your heart is always in the right place. you have the best intentions, and i trust that. i love that about you, and i am so honored to be with you? like wtf? i am so #blessed? i love you. I LOVE YOU !!!

Chapter 16: Back to normality
Hello beautiful people of Tumblr and other social media, is Thursday again and I’ll leave you with chapter 16.
I know that maybe this chapter is a little bit “Blah” but next chapter is super good!
Remember that I’ll be posting short stories that complement in a way the fic on Anastasia’s Instagram profile. The first one is about Mandy!
Anastasia_Truman
Much love to you all! ❤️️
——————————————————
Read chapter 15
Everything was going well and getting back to normality. Anastasia was enjoying her relationship to the fullest. They had just two weeks before heading back to Europe to continue the tour so they tried to take advantage of every day in LA as much as they could.
One afternoon, Josh invited Anastasia to one of his favorite restaurants. Surprisingly it was a Brazilian food place. He said to her that he ate there at least twice a month.
-          It’s a nice surprise that you like Brazilian food – Anastasia said while drinking a mixed juice.
-          I love Brazil. I have so many memories from my travels there.
-          Good memories?
-          Amazing memories – Josh answered and she did’t want to go further with the subject.
-          I’m so happy because my father is in town! – Anastasia said clapping low.
-          Really?
-          Yes, he landed last night and is in Malibu right now. I would love you to meet him – Josh looked at her with a stoic expression on his face.
-          Wow… I would love that – Josh smiled – Are you sure?
-          Yes! My father is amazing and super cool.
-          Meeting the parents, huh?
-          That worries you?
-          No, it excites me.
-          You already know Barbara and she is like my mother. Mark is gonna be there too.
-          When is it?
-          Tonight – Anastasia said trying not to look into his eyes.
-          TONIGHT? – Josh raised his voice.
-          Sorry to tell you last minute. We can go to my house and get ready there – At this point Josh had clothes in Anastasia’s house and Anastasia has some of hers at Josh’s place.
-          All right, I accept the invitation – Anastasia always shared a small laugh when Josh used formal sentences.
The two arrived at her house, as they planned to, and after watching some TV the two fell asleep. Sleep wasn’t something you get to do a lot on tours so every chance they had, they didn’t even think about it. Anastasia woke up by the sound of her phone, opened her eyes and saw Josh sleeping next to her, it was the most comforting view she had had in a while. Anastasia rolled over trying to take her phone and not wake up Josh in the process. She received a message from her sister Barbara.
“Are you coming or what?”
She saw the time and it was late, very late. She moved Josh's arm tenderly first and he didn’t respond, she moved it again, nothing happened, then she called his name softly, but he was still fully asleep. She was getting frustrated.
-          Josh! – She called his name loud and moved his arm violently.
-          What’s up? – He asked opening his eyes big and fast.
-          It’s late- Anastasia said with a soft voice and smiling.
-          No – Josh said with sleepy voice – Let’s stay here.
He rolled over to get almost on top of Anastasia, and he started to kiss her neck. God! She loved his neck kisses; he kissed her shoulders and then her lips to end with a little bite, which turned her on. She kissed him back fiercely and scratched his back, now he was turned on, she could feel it. Anastasia began to breathe heavily, he started to tease her touching her belly and then going down with his fingertips, she was in heaven and he knew it. She bit her lip and he smiled and then, suddenly, he stopped, he got his face close to hers and whispered “It’s late” before getting up from the bed.
-          Are you serious? – Anastasia still breathing heavy for the rush and rage.
-          Come on! It’s late – He was laughing and enjoying the moment, thinking it was funny.
-          I’m gonna get my revenge Josh Adam Klinghoffer. I swear.
-          Oh yeah?
-          It won’t be pretty – Josh disappeared behind the bathroom door still laughing.
They arrived at Barbara’s mansion an hour late. She received them at the door.
-          Hi Josh – She saluted him with a kiss in the cheek and a hug. Then she turned to Anastasia and put an angry face - I'm mad at you. I’m starving.
-          I’m sorry – Anastasia said.
-          I’m sure you are late for inducing Josh into spontaneous sex.
-          WHAT? – Anastasia said opening her mouth disgusted – It wasn’t exactly like that – She looked at Josh who was laughing.
They walked to the living room where the rest of the family was waiting for them. Her brother, Mark, was playing with the twins and her father got up from his chair as soon as he saw her. Her father was old but invigorated, his skin was wrinkled and his brown hair hung loose over his shoulders, his blue eyes showed the perks of the age and his skinny body showed hints of his drug addiction past. Regardless, her father was full of life. His eyes shone as soon as he saw Anastasia and hugged her tightly. Despite the relationship with her mother, Nick always had showed careless love for her. After the hug, she introduced Josh to him. Josh was nervous but tried to remain calm, he wasn’t a guy who was often starstruck, he had played with such world-famous people that it was almost routinary for him, but Nick Truman was an institution in rock music and now his girlfriend’s father. Anastasia smiled imagine what was going through Josh's mind.
-          I’m glad to finally meet you – Nick said – These three – pointing to Anastasia, Barbara and Mark – had nothing but great things to say about you.
-          I’m happy to know that – Anastasia, Mark and Barbara were smiling in an exaggerated way at Josh, like making fun of the situation. He smiled back.
-          Sorry for the delay but you know how I am, always late! – Anastasia said.
-          We want to eat! – The twins screamed.
-          Well the Queen and King had spoken! We better get to the table.
                                                         °°°
-          I would congratulate you for the food but I know you didn’t cook any of it – Anastasia said to her sister occupying a chair on the right side. Josh seated next to her and her brother on the head of the table while on the opposite side was Barbara. The twins and Nick took chairs on the left side.
-          A special occasion needs special food – Barbara said – Josh, if you are a vegetarian those broccoli nuggets are delicious.
-          No, I’m not – Josh said with a shy expression on his face – But I’ll give them a try.
-          Wow a Californian guy that eats meat, that’s a first – Mark said joking with Josh.
-          I couldn’t date a vegetarian guy – Anastasia said.
-          Yes, we all know how much you like meat, especially all kinds of sausages – Barbara said to her sister with an obvious double meaning, smirking.
-          I really hope you choke on those broccoli nuggets – Anastasia did not found her sister joke funny – She is lying – She said to Josh.
-          What? She just said you liked sausages – Josh and Barbara shared a look of complicity and everyone laughed, everyone but Anastasia, of course. “Josh is funny today”, she thought and remembered she owned him revenge.
After the dinner, the twins were falling asleep so they said goodbye to everyone, including “Uncle Josh” which put a big smile on Josh’s face. Barbara put them to sleep in their bed. She came back to the table to continue the conversation.
-          So you are touring right now? – Nick asked drinking his glass of wine.
-          Yes, we leave on Thursday to… wherever the hell we are going next – Anastasia couldn’t remember where they were heading to.
-          To Germany – Josh said smiling a bit.
-          Yes! To Munich! – Anastasia said sharing the smile.
-          I’m so proud of you, you have no idea – Her father said – I checked out some tunes from your own band, how was it called?
-          Dot Hacker, dad – Anastasia answered.
-          That, Dot Hacker, An send me some songs about a month ago and I must say I was pleased. You guys have a unique melody. Those tunes restored my faith in music – Josh was speechless.
-          Hearing that from you, sir, is such an honor.
-          Oh stop the formality, don’t call me sir, call me Nick – Josh smiled again.
-          He is so talented – Anastasia said and put her right hand in Josh’s left inner thigh.
He looked at her with fear and remembered she was going to get revenge for the episode at her house. Josh smiled and Anastasia smiled back at him.
-          And are you having fun? You aren’t drinking a lot, right? – Nick said to Anastasia.
-          Come on, you say it like I was some kind of alcoholic – Anastasia moved her hand close to Josh’s genital area. She could feel him tensing his muscles and that gave her a reason to laugh a little bit. The table had a long tablecloth so everyone was ignoring what was happening underneath.
-          I’m not saying that but I know you, you are my daughter – Anastasia rolled her eyes – Are you going to visit London?
-          Yes, at the end of the year.
Anastasia didn’t stop teasing and pleasing Josh and he had to be a total actor to not show his nervousness. She just kept touching him up and down, up and down... He couldn’t tell her to stop but he tried to let her know with his eyes, she just smiled and laid her torso to Josh’s side, while he put his left arm around her shoulders and began to pinch her slightly. She was all the way and started to feel the pressure in Josh pants, even underneath their bagginess. She smiled at Josh with satisfaction and took advantage of a moment of distraction of her relatives to whisper to him “I told you I would have my revenge”. Josh faked a smile and excused himself to the bathroom… the ugly part of being a guy.
-          He drank so much water today – Anastasia said to her family laughing and feeling almighty.
-          You should visit your mother when you get to London.
-          I will see… - Anastasia answered looking to the table – I’m going to London to play in front of thousands of people, I don’t want my mother’s bad energy around.
-          An… Don’t talk like that.
-          Don’t you come and tell me how I should I talk about my mother – Anastasia said disgusted.
                                                      °°°
-          You are crazy and I love you – Josh said getting inside his car.
-          That will teach you to think twice the next time you tease me and don’t finish the job.
-          The thing between you and your mom is that bad? – Josh had a special talent to change subjects abruptly.
-          I wouldn’t say it’s bad, I would say it’s null – Anastasia looked at the road through the windshield.
-          Are you going to see her in London? – Josh asked.
-          I guess so. I didn’t even call her when we were there the last time. It’s my mom after all.
-          Eric’s birthday is tomorrow – Josh changed subjects again.
-          I know! – Anastasia said looking at him – We are going to a new restaurant in Silver Lake.
-          I’m excited for you to hang out with my friends… my nice friends.
-          And you forget that many of them are my friends too.
-          Right, how didn’t we get together sooner? We had many people in common.
-          Everything happens when it has to happen.
Anastasia stroked Josh's cheek with the back of her hand and moved her fingers behind his ear and his neck.
-          Are you teasing me again? – Josh asked without taking his eyes off the road.
-          I hope this time it leads me somewhere – Josh looked at her.
She moved her body towards Josh and kissed his neck and his jaw line, the same jaw line that drove her crazy.
-          I’m driving – Josh said smiling with mischief – We can crash and die.
-          I’ll die happily – Anastasia responded.
She continued stroking Josh through every inch of his torso, head, thighs and everything in between. Josh used his right hand and arm to please Anastasia, thanking God for automatic transmission cars. He parked his car at the porch of his house and both of them were so full of desire that he couldn’t wait more and own her right there, inside his car. It was late and he lived in a gated community but the fact of getting caught turn them on even more. She spared no shouts of pleasure, something that Josh loved.

Summer 2018 is Here
Summer Vacation 2018 – What my Kids are doing.
The summer has started and vacation time is here.  I thought my kids did plenty last summer but this summer is a doozy.  When I'm talking action packed it is pretty high up there on the action packed meter.  At least for my kids so far in their lives.  A lot of driving to different summer camps too.  Not so much fun but we all make sacrifices for our kids, right!  Shall we break it down?  Well follow me and see what my family is doing.
  My Youngest son
Tumblr media
Our little guy just finished fourth grade.  As mentioned in a previous article he is in accelerated extra gifted class.  He absolutely loved the class.  The only thing that he had trouble with is Mandarin.  Learning any new language is a challenge.  I think learning Mandarin is more than challenging.  Everything really is foreign.  Besides the learning of new words and learning their meanings and pronunciation, there is the writing.  Mandarin characters are very complex.  If there is a missed curve or a missed small line, the whole meaning is changed and is wrong.  My Tiger wife really put in the extra time and work with my son throughout the school year to end it really well.
 The Littlest Cellist
My son started taking cello lessons this year with the same cello teacher that my older son and daughter learn from.  He really is an amazing teacher.  I can't recommend him highly enough.  He is already up to Suzuki Book Three and finished the year playing the Humoresque at his recital.  He was also lucky to be picked for his school talent show and played this piece in front of his school.
youtube
Music Camp
This summer as I write this he is at a three week music camp in upstate New York!  One of my wife's friends actually told us about this camp a couple of months ago.  We were able to apply late thanks to her and were successful in auditioning and being accepted.  This is the first time that he has gone away for any length of time.  My wife is worried silly because you can't call them.  She actually sent him a letter yesterday.  We don't know how it will go but we will let you know when we pick him up in three weeks.
My daughter
My only daughter just successfully finished seventh grade.  She settled into middle school this past year and has a growing circle of friends.  She had a great year academically passing all of her classes with flying colors!
CTY – Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth
After taking the SCAT test this past year she qualified and was able to enroll into CTY.  She is gone for three weeks this summer taking a creative writing course in Roger Williams University.  Since this is her first experience away from home and being in a real “college” like experience I was curious to see her reaction.
youtube
We walked onto the campus and I could see a glimmer of a smile.  As we were walking around the campus and signing up for everything and getting her books the glimmer was starting to show in her eyes.  Slowly ever so slowly curiosity on her part was turning into realization that this might be more than just interesting.  We got her keys to her room and found her dorm.  We found her room and saw that it was in a nice suite with multiple rooms.  The room was nice and clean with a beautiful view of the bridge that led to Newport.  Her smile was growing from ear to ear.
Tumblr media
The nail that sealed it was when we went to have lunch at the cafeteria.  Oh my Lord!!!  I forgot how much food there was at college cafeterias.  However, Roger Williams took it to an amazing level I never thought possible.  My daughter was gone.  She loves food!  The food was glorious.  She couldn't contain herself.  I knew right there and then, there was going to be NO home sickness for her…  She would enjoy every one of those meals to the fullest.  I just warned her about the freshman 15 and told her please don't have that happen in only three weeks!  She is there right now.
Music Camp Part II
Tumblr media
My daughter was accepted to the same music camp that my son is at right now in upstate NY.  She will be attending that a few days after her CTY session ends.  There are two divisions at the camp, a junior and senior division.  She will be attending the senior session for four weeks.  I will update this when she goes and finishes.
My oldest son
My oldest son has been busy from the moment we landed on our trip from Paris(Read about that here). That is when we received the email that he was selected to The New York Youth Symphony and within days of that he was notified that he was selected to All-State.  Since this was Junior Year this was going to be the Big One!  Let's break it down.
School Work
My son enrolled into four AP Classes this past year, American History, AP English, Statistics and Biology.  His last academic class was Honors Pre-Calculus/Calculus and Orchestra to round it off.  It was tough, real tough.  Any parent who has had kids go through it knows what I mean.  If your child is going to be a junior, the best advice I can give is to make sure your kid can maximize their time by utilizing time management skills.  Any student that has aspirations to go to an elite college has multiple things going on besides school work.  The extra-curriculars, the volunteering, the clubs, teams and just trying to squeeze out some time for fun and relaxation.  This is the make or break year and if you've come this far you have to finish it, right?
The results
My son is good at math but NOT great.  He ended the year with a final grade of an A-.  All the other classes he got A's and A+'s.  He finished the year strong and I am more really proud of him.  I saw how many nights where he only slept for a couple of hours and went to school.  It was really tough to watch but it also made me more than proud.  I knew that he was the type to do what it took to get things done when it mattered.  A useful trait when going into the real world.
Standardized Tests
My son took the SAT twice so far and he will take it one last time this summer.  The first time he took it he did okay but not great.  After thinking that he was ready by taking a few practice tests and getting in the 1500's he took the test.  He had a rude awakening that was a shock to him and us.  He received a 1410 with a 23/24 on the essay.
youtube
Our whole family was shocked to say the least.  Though we were happy with the 23/24 on the essay, the score was not what we thought he would get.  I know, I know some of you must be thinking what a jerk.  That is a fine score, blah, blah…  I'm okay with the criticism because I know what I am, a Tiger Dad.  Our whole family worked our asses as a collective to do everything we could to help my son get into the best school he could get into.  A 1410 would not cut it.  After reading horror stories this year of Asian males with 1560's not getting into Boston University, we were scared!
Round Two
My son didn't have time to take the SAT again until March because of too many time conflicts.  We were so nervous.  Everything hat he had worked for was going to be up in the air until he took the test again and got his results.  It was so stressful for all of us.  He took the test and we waited…
The Wait
So what did I do during the waiting to keep me occupied?  I started going on reddit and College Confidential.  I was on College Confidential to do research on safety schools if he bombed. There is a reddit subtopic for SAT that is good.  You have kids that took the test and discuss the test and the questions that they thought were difficult.  After two long weeks… The results were in.
SAT Scores
After all the hard work that was put in during the past summer with taking online SAT courses with Prep Expert.  After bombing on the first try of the SAT.  After the months of not taking the test because my son was too busy with other extra-curriculars and lastly after the two weeks for the tests to be graded.  Judgement Day had arrived!  My son logged into the College Board site, put in his credentials and opened up the link for SAT Test Scores.   The Score was 1520!!!  Hahahaah!!!!!  He did it and we were so proud of him!  We were giving each other high fives and basking in the knowledge that our dreams were still on track.
youtube
  Final Word on Standardized Testing
The score of 1520 was great and that put him into the 99 percentile.  We were more than pleased as you can tell by the gif up above.  We decided that he will take it one more time to see if he could raise his score up just a little more.  I've seen videos on YouTube and other blogs that there is no reason to take the test again once you score above 1500 but every one of them are not Asian males.  As stated earlier, there are Asian students with the same background and similar everything as my son and they were denied into every Top tier school.  I think that we've come too far to say to ourselves in the future, “What If”?  So one last time to see if he can raise his score more and if he doesn't, then so be it.  At least we gave it our all.
The Rest of the Summer
My son is finishing his last year of interning and volunteering at the Summer Engineering Camp that he has been a part of since sixth grade.  He's making some money and fulfilling his National Honor Society Volunteer Hour Requirement at the same time.
During the month of July he is making sure that he writes his common application essay and at least five of his favorite schools supplementary essays.  On top of that he has to continue with his cello practice in order to audition again for the New York Youth Symphony.  Lastly, study for the SAT one last time.
A Reward for his Hard Work
There is a reward at the end of the tunnel.  I'm not a monster that wants my son to go crazy.  As in life there must be rewards for hard work and I think this is a great reward.  One of his best friends invited him and another buddy to go to France for two weeks in August.  It's in a small town in the southern part of France.  I looked on Google Maps and it looks absolutely amazing!  Better yet another of his best friends will be traveling in Italy and it will only be an hour away from where my son will be staying.  They might be able to hang out together while over there.  That would be so amazing for them.  So, he would have a place to stay but just needs to buy a plane ticket and have spending money.  How could I say no to that?  I hope he has the time of his life!
Here's hoping that all you Tiger Moms and Tiger Dads have the best summer vacation of 2018!  If any of you have any questions or comments please go to our Facebook page and leave them there.  I will answer as best as I can.  I would love to hear what other students and parents are doing this summer!

Insider Secrets: How the Pros Build a Large MLM Group
Well it happened again today. I checked my e-mail, only to find a message from someone I haven't listened to in years. What does she ask me? If I desire to join her malaysia mlm software. (Sigh.) And can I give her the names and mobile number of my friends, family and employees who could buy her products? (Double sigh.).
And you ought to wonder ... will these people ever learn?
Its just like decisions I ascertain my office. They tell Lornette that they have an urgent consulting or training project, and must speak to me right away. I call them back to hear something like, Hi Randy, my name is so-and-so, we met a few years ago at the MLMIA convention. (Ive never been to an MLMIA Convention.) Im utilizing XYZ Company, and I just desired to touch base with you and blah, blah ...
And its always the same. The consulting project or business venture they want me to evaluate, means to induct as a distributor on their front level. They often say theyre returning my call, are old friends of mine, or some other outright lie to achieve past Lornette. Theyre worse then the dammed toner and light bulb salesmen. They just don't get it.
Badgering prospects ...
Individuals who make at least $10,000 a month in Network Marking on a consistent basis, never do such silly stuff. They never use dishonest or duplicitous means to reach people. They don't spam people over the Internet and theyre not sales call some idiots on a business opportunity list. They don't alienate everyone they know, and they aren't chasing skinny rabbits. They are talking to qualified prospects, and getting quality appointments to make quality presentations.
Lets look at the marketing process something I think a lot more people should think of a lot more. Heres why ...
Most individuals approach marketing as selling. And selling as getting the dumb prospect to buy something he doesn't need. They devote their career to learning NLP, sleight of hand, and a host of other manipulative techniques to coerce prospects into buying things they don't want or need. Anthony Robbins and a legion of little Tony wannabes have created an entire cottage industry teaching people to do this. Many MLMers have delved the fray, bringing these and other high-pressure sales techniques into Mlm.
These are the jackasses who call during your dinner hour, opening with lines like, Jim you have no idea me yet but Im partnering with an opportunity so amazing, blah, blah (Scream).
I approach marketing entirely different ...
I have no interest in trying to sell something to someone who doesn't want it, and I suggest you don't either. True marketing is based on a simple - yet quite profound philosophy:.
Were looking for people ... who are looking for what we have.
Put into more specific terms it means this: Our job is to identify qualified prospects then put our marketing message in front of them. Give them enough information to make the right decision for them.
If that means they join your opportunity or buy your product, good. If it means they dont, thats good too. Your job is not to sell your opportunity or products to those that don't need or desire them.It is to find the people who want what you have and give them enough information so they can decide if getting it from you is a fair exchange of value.
Sorting, not Selling ...
Network Marketing is much more a sorting process, than it is a selling business. It is this fundamental difference in philosophy that separates me from the multitudes of sales trainers, marketing gurus and book authors out there. I take no perverse pride in selling ice cubes to the Eskimos. I am not here to prove my manhood by demonstrating I can manipulate or trick a guy into buying something he doesn't want, or cant afford. Theres no integrity in that.
I do take great pride, however, in presenting my marketing message in the best, most effective manner possible to qualified prospects. I want to outsell, outmaneuver and out market my competitors, but I want to do it by offering a better value. Then I want to market that better value better than anyone else out there. And thats what I want for you ...
What the Successful People Do ...
For more than 15 years, Ive been studying what worked and what didnt, in Network Marketing. Learned what the long-term successful people did and why. Discovered the secrets of effective presentations, and what motivated prospects to join. And began the rudimentary forerunner of what became the system I teach today. It was only then that I began to achieve any degree of success. But it wasnt lasting ...
While I was able to conduct meetings, make presentations, and sponsor a large number of people ... most of my distributors could not. The more people I sponsored, the faster they seemed to drop out. What I did worked, but it didnt duplicate. I came to realize that success without duplication is merely future failure in disguise.
I changed to my system and fine-tuned it, simplified I, and made it easier to replicate. It not only worked, but it duplicated as well. It is that system (with continuous refinement) that has helped many countless people, across the world, reach higher levels of success in Network Marketing. It is that system which I shared in the first edition of my book, How to Build a Multi-Level Money Machine.
The book can save you much of the frustration and failure I faced. Building upon my success, you can cut many years off your growth curve and build your network much faster. Youll learn what attracts prospects to you, and how to present to them effectively. Youll discover the kind of people you want to sponsor, and whom you would be better to screen out in the pre-approach process.
Once youre well educated in the sponsoring process, you will learn steps to manageand keep growinga large network. The ways to spend your time, how to develop leaders, and how to counsel them. Most importantly, youll learn how to empower those leaders to develop new ones. By the time you finish reading the book, you will have a clear understanding of a fundamental, profound truth about Home based: You don't grow your network. You grow your people - and they grow your group.
My hope is that youll view Network Marketing as the professional career it has become, and will join me on my mission, which is to continue raising the standards of this honorable profession.
Unlike corporate Americawith its downsizing and rat-eat-rat competition Network Marketing offers you the opportunity to nurture and empower the inherent talents in all those you sponsor. In this business, success means the chance to develop spiritually, intellectually, emotionally and financially, while you contribute in a positive way to others.
As you undertake this journey of challenge, adventure and growth, you will attract others who share your vision and follow your example. You will lead them for a short timethen release them as they unfold into leaders and start the process all over again. You will feel pride, joy and a sense of accomplishment few ever experience. You will know that what you do means somethingand that your community is a little bit better place because you have contributed.
Building a large, exponentially growing network is not easyits not supposed to be. It is simple, however. If you are coachable and persistent; if you really believe in yourself, and are willing to follow a step-by-step systemyou really can achieve massive, lasting success in Network Marketing.
You wont do it with cold calls, Spamming and those other irritating techniques we talked about earlier. You do it with solid marketing, following a system that others can duplicate, and running your business in an honest, straightforward way.
What a System Looks Like ...
Your system should completely delineate and spell out the entire process that a distributor will follow: from where to find prospects, how to approach them, how to sponsor them, and how to train them to reach the higher pin ranks. (For the sake of simplicity and your understandingI use the term pin ranks to mean people who reach the top levels of your compensation plan, whether theyre called Diamond Directors, National Vice Presidents or Master Coordinators. The name comes from the fact that distributors receive a pin upon achieving these ranks.) Each stage in this process should be clearly defined and taught to the distributor at the appropriate time.
Heres a breakdown of the steps that might be included in a system. This is not meant to be the be-all, end-all. If fact, your system may be quite different. I offer this example, so you can see the kind of structure Im talking about.
Step One The Pre-Approach ...
This is the qualification step the one that determines whether you have a suspect or an actual prospect. This can be done simply with qualifying questions, or qualifying questions combined with a pre-approach packet. This packet would include materials designed to screen out people who are not good candidates for the business. (An example is my Lifestyle Freedom Pack.) Pre-approach means before the approach. In other words, this step will determine whether or not you would approach them about the opportunity at all.
Another way to do this is with a brief, mini presentation. This is a quick overview, usually 30 minutes or less, to see if your candidate is a serious prospect. This is usually done one-on-one in a non-threatening environment (example: in the prospects kitchen or at a coffee shop). When you first begin, this should be done as a two-on-one, meaning you and your sponsor together presenting to your prospect. This can also be done in a small group meeting in your living room.
The interested prospects would be given a specific set of materials to study, usually called a take home packet. This packet would have a break down of how money is made in the business and some supporting materials on the products, usually a brochure or catalog.
Step Two The Presentation ...
This is where the prospect takes a second look at the presentation, usually at a larger home or hotel meeting, but it can also be done one-on-one. Like all steps, there should be a clearly defined set of specific materials (the Follow-up Packet), which should be given to the prospect. This is usually more detailed information than the previous packet.
Step Three The Follow Up ...
This step might involve getting the prospect to another, bigger presentation (like a large hotel open meeting) or simply bringing one more packet of information to the prospect and encouraging them to make a decision. Check with your sponsorship line. In either event, the packet of information and the procedures followed should be exactly the same for every distributor on every level.
Step Four The Enrollment Process ...
This is the step that falls after the prospect nods and is ready to become a distributor. NOTE: This can happen at step two, or step three. Each prospect lands at his or her own speed. Its important that whether or not a prospect poises to join at step two (thats great!) you still expose them to the information in step three to preserve the integrity of the system.
Like our other steps, the enrollment process should be completely translated, step-by-step. The training that you receive should be the same, exact training that someone on your 25th level, five states away, will receive when joining your organization. (See my Learn more training materials).
These four steps are the foundation for your system. Whatever which program youre in, it should generally parallel this process. Again, though, check with your sponsorship line for specifics. The later steps of red tape will vary more greatly from program to program. They involve managing organizational growth and developing leadership skills. (I explore them more deeply in the Building Depth and Leadership Strategies chapters of my book.).
Overall, however, visualize a system as a complete, step-by-step process that anyone who joins your organization whether theyre a doctor or waitress, Ph.D., or high school dropout can duplicate. It means you should have the opportunity to fly to a city 3,000 miles away hire someone on your 50th level that youve never met and be teaching the same principles and specifics theyve been being informed the person whos on your 49th level.
Youll notice this doesn't involve one of the dishonest and obnoxious practices we discussed earlier. Your system should focus on identifying qualified prospects, educating them, and allowing them to make the right decision for them. A lot of people ask me how this variety of system works today, in a more competitive environment. The answer is, better than ever! In fact, prospects today are so jaded today, so assaulted, consequently skeptical, they are completely switched off by the high-pressure techniques. The kind of honest, easy marketing were speaking of is very attractive to them.

There’s no moment sadder than the moment someone blatantly tries to impress you and fails. “Depending on which economic calculation you use, I may or may not be the richest person in the world. I’m good friends with this guy who knows Bruce Springsteen. Surveys have shown that I’m the most attractive person in Michigan. Can I buy you a drink?” No. No, you may not.Number one, you’re lying, and number two, what, am I supposed to be impressed? Ew. Can’t we just stop trying to impress one another and start being ourselves?Obvious “I want you to find me impressive” conversation is boring, tedious, and uncomfortable. It’s also counterproductive, because if a person is truly impressive, they don’t have to talk about it. You know when you should be impressed by someone, and impressive people know that you know so all the “I’m impressive blah blah blah” doesn’t really apply. People who talk about the many impressive qualities they have also come across as ecomaniacal, self-centered, and uninteresting. All a braggart wants is an ego boost, and their behavior is transparent and annoying. We are asked to talk extensively about ourselves when dating a new person. Part of the fun in dating is sharing stories about yourself and listening to the stories of another person. But the type and quality of your conversation can veer from being informative and inclusive to being egotistical and self-centered — without you even realizing it. This is a risk we all run. And I know we’ve all had moments when we casually say something, and then worry that what we said might have come off the wrong way, as if we sounded boastful or pompous. And we feel embarrassed. Here are some rules that any dater can follow to keep conversation on course and to avoid the unfortunate and often unintentional case of “I’m trying to impress you” talk.Avoid talking about money too early on.This is a classic rule of dating. As we wrote in our “What Not To Do On A First Date” blog entry last month : “Zoosk recently conducted a study of over a thousand singles all across the United States, asking about sensitive issues like dating during a recession, unemployment, and going on dates that involve free activities as opposed to dining out extravagantly. What we found was that money can’t buy love, and that people don’t really let factors like money influence their decisions too much when it comes to dating someone they really like.” Don’t talk about money in polite company, as the old adage goes.No one needs to know about complements, honors, or attentions you’ve received.I am sure you are an impressive person, but gloating too much about the many facets of your glorious impressiveness can have the effect of making your date — or anyone — feel small and unimpressive in comparison. This causes feelings of insecurity and resentment, and will practically ensure that you won’t get a second date (unless your date decides to keep dating you because they loathe you so much, in order to one day dump you out of the blue to take you down a notch — it’s happened before).Think of the 5 most impressive things about you, write them down on a list, and make a mental note not to bring them up unless it pertains to the conversation or if you are asked. There are certain topics that are generally avoided unless you are asked. These include what your exact job title is, where you went to school, what car you drive, how cool you are, the list goes on. Write down the 5 most impressive things about yourself and make a mental note not to be the first person to bring them up in a conversation, unless it’s directly relevant to the discussion. Trust me, you’ll come off as way more impressive if you keep your mouth shut unless you’re asked (at which point you casually drop the bomb). Be off the cuff; be too cool to even care. And then gloat as you watch your date’s eyes widen in shock and then turn misty with lust.Don’t be a name dropper.Name dropping is a cardinal sin of dating. Just because you know some impressive people does not then make you impressive yourself. It just makes you a name dropper. Blatant attempts to place yourself in the social hierarchy are pathetic, and people can and do know it when name dropping happens. You aren’t pulling the wool over anyone’s eyes. Your date agreed to date you, not your random celebrity “friends” (skepticism noted).Show, don’t tell. The best policy, in dating, is to show rather than tell. This rule is almost universally applicable. Rather than telling your date about the many sides of who you are, show them. Show your date how smart you are with witty conversation and great book recommendations. Show them how caring you are by being a good listener. If you make a lot of money, treat your date to a nice dinner rather than blurting out the contents of your Roth IRA. If you have a cool talent, well, organize a talent show! It won’t be long before your date realizes what an amazing person you are, and the best thing is: you didn’t even have to tell them. via /r/dating_advice
