Christmas 2023 Yule

Spent time with my best friend and her family celebrating Yule. Her and her oldest and my oldest and I did a number of low key things to celebrate as we spent the day together. One thing we did was make a simmer pot together, each of us taking turns prepping and adding items. We made the base of the simmer pot apple juice, though, and later all enjoyed the fruity, spiced warm cider. It tasted so good we all want to do that again!

Photo 1 shows the pot on the stove with the juice in it and the cranberries, orange slices and rosemary sprigs floating on top with a wooden spoon resting on one edge of the pot.

A few days later, my oldest and I made orange and clove pomanders while sipping cocoa and listening to holiday music. The pomanders smelled amazing and we both enjoyed the cozy time making something together. Photo two shows 4 of the clove decorated orange pomanders in a small white bowl.

Guess I haven't posted in awhile! I take photos, just don't get around to putting them up. This one is a bit late, but at least I'm posting it before I switch my seasonal altar for Imbolc!

Here's a little altar before and after for you. I really wanted some space to actually craft/make things on my altar while still having seasonal things displayed, but there was a TV monitor in the way (you can see part of its base in some of my older altar photos). Since the TV was no longer hooked to any service or used for anything, this was the perfect time to make that change, so I got help moving it off the table, cleansed the table and then set up my Yule altar, leaving empty space at the front where future crafts or workings can be done.
