ok so confession i actually never played undertale before(just. wasn't ready for it) and ive never watched a playthrough bc i wantd to play it relatively unspoiled as i could be after so many years of exposure to it culturally.

There's at least two prompts on zecret santa this year that are kurashiki sibling post-ztd reunion and I have been trying to write that for chapter two for a couple months now but ZTD logistics are so qwq

no i got that actually. within the first half hour. and then there were two and a half more hours.

#the psychiatrist writes ''guilty'' in his notepad in literally the first scene of the film #the themes are not subtle #the payoff (the reveal of [redacted] in the attic) garnered zero reaction from me #nice symbolism you got there. anyway.#on a technical level it was great #and individual scenes could be really poignant and powerful #but taken in its entirety it actually feels really repetitive because it's just reiterating these same themes for three entire hours #as an odyssey it does work. it does. but the reasons why it works are also why as a film you're sitting there waiting for beau to catch up #the narrative works but the experience of watching it feels so unrewarding i'm like this could've been an email #anyway tl;dr i geeeet iiiittt okay i just did not like it

I think people acting like the bit of ‘some people are just bad and irredeemable!’ in Owl House is such a BOLD NEW TAKE need to watch more shows, or read more books or watch more movies. There’s more out there than She-Ra or Amphibia or Steven Universe, I promise...

I’m not even saying this take was wrong per-say in the finale, I just hoped for much more nuance and intrigue than I got.

#owl talk #toh spoilers #a lot was built up for belos and had absolutely zero payoff and i put a lot of faith in the crew for ANYTHING even more vague crumbs #but instead its all dismissed for UR GOOD HE BAD end of story #i generally wouldnt be so mad if i hadnt praised owl house so much #or how much ive said belos is my favorite recent animated villain in YEARS #belos deserving to not go out with a bang doesnt mean its good writing when they did that #theres loads of potential of something being anti climatic but still have good resolution #i wouldve been okay with luz just watching him die as he begged but they had to add in the curb stomp and it ruined the moment #it all just felt like one big joke and pushing a lot aside for the collector... which is a whole other can of worms #to keep it short: i dont think collector shouldve been in the show belos shouldve remained the sole antag

elden ring sidequest/subplot tier list

this tier list is inarguable and objectively correct!

s. ranni's gang, volcano manor/rya

a. millicent/the scarlet rot/the haligtree, patches, alexander, sellen, flame of frenzy & adherents

b. fia/rogier/d/godwyn, boc, diallos, roderika, castle morne, kenneth haight, the eternal cities

c. dung eater & the omens, nepheli loux & gideon, corhyn & goldmask, varre, the albinaurics in general, any other minor quest that it's easy to miss big chunks of e.g. blackgaurd big boggart or latenna

d. whatever mogh's deal was, whatever the fire cult's deal was, whatever farum azula's deal was, whatever the ancestral followers' deal was, any other recurring group of enemies that doesn't have an associated speaking role

e. any quest that revolves around handing in collectibles to a stationary dude

f. seluvis, who is that while also being one of the worst person you're still technically able to help

#elden ring #it's honestly a crime that volcano manor doesn't have an ending because it's probably the most fleshed out npc group besides ranni's gang #I might be underrating fia's quest because it just wasn't really present at all in my first playthrough #I talked to fia and she gave me the blessing and then I was like this sucks and then didn't talk to her again #patches would be s tier if the castanets actually did something. as-is it's just a good shaggy dog story #the scarlet rot subplot would be s tier if millicent could be summoned for a relevant fight #and maybe if one of her sisters invaded in the lake of rot somewhere #I also wish the haligtree/elphael was a little bit less dense with enemies #the dung eater is just an asshole with zero nuance or flair but I guess that's kind of the point #why on earth does he have his own ending??? the flame of frenzy is already the fuck everything chaos 10000 years option #the eternal cities is coasting on siofra being far and away the prettiest area in the game and containing the mimic boss/summon #they are not very developed or deep #if any faction in elden ring were to get extensively fleshed out in a dlc campaign I would want it to be the albinaurics #they're a really interesting setup for not much payoff #and hinge way too much on an easily missable quest

i should feel bad for kabuto but i think his backstory shows up wayyyyyyy too late in the game for me to have ever really cared. rereading it yesterday i was like 'sure fine but like. why now.'

well that's probably bc kishi could not let orochimaru die, to my great enduring agony. oh yeah and because it makes a weird parallel with itachi which i don't think vibes right at all but like. whatever
