Time Travel AU Katara finally getting to see Zuko as a baby and little kid and she m e l t s when she sees how cute, sweet, and just so innocent he was. He would feed and talk to the turtleducks then try sneak them inside, eagerly ask his mother to hold his baby sister only to have his hair and face pulled, play-pretend dramatically while practicing his swordsmanship, try to make a flower necklace for his mom but bungle it up hilariously, fix Azula’s dolls after she damaged them, write excited letters to his uncle Iroh asking him about his adventures and what the world was like, secretly stay up past his bedtime to read under his bed covers, learn about pottery and try to make a little dragon statue for his dad, etc.

It makes it even more heart wrenching when Katara sees what he lives with and is forced to go through…

Been super busy so I actually don't have a zk month entry and this was done so quickly lol hahaha 👉👈

ZKs always try to play the victim and act like they just wanna ship their ship in peace, that they love Karata and want what‘s better for her. But the fact of the matter is they don’t care about the real Katara, they only care about there fanfic self insert version of Katara.

Their version of Katara who always pushes her own emotions aside and NEVER verbalized how she felt, who was never supported by her friends and had to do everything by herself, who hated having support Aang as this was “emotion labor”, who viewed Aang and the other members of The Gaang as her literal children despite Aang being two years younger and her not wanting to be seen as a mom, who apparently let herself be reduced to a “baby-maker” because she wanted three children of her own volition.

Their version of Katara whom they’re comfortable with writing as a cheater, a murderer, an abuse victim, a slave and someone who apparently deserved better meaning she should’ve been romantically involved with someone who oppressed her for months and “realistically” should’ve fallen in love immediately after reconciling, then become a part of the nation that colonized her tribe.

Zutara shippers don’t care about Katara.

They just say they “care” about Katara to try and make themselves look righteous and good. That’s all it is. It’s some weird morality play for them where they use shipping cartoon characters as a sign of good and evil lol.

Of course they play victim nowadays. Most kataang shippers are well into adulthood in 2024 vs most of us being like 12 when ATLA originally aired. As such, we aren’t really afraid of them anymore and we definitely don’t tolerate their harassment and overall bullshit like we once did decades ago. So now because we aren’t literal scared children being harassed by older ppl and instead we don’t gaf and will clap back on their asses, they act like they’re defenseless victims when in reality it’s a case of poking the damn bear one too many times.

It’s kataang shippers who have consistently tried to “ship in peace”. Zutara shippers are fucking incapable of staying out of designated kataang spaces. There has been a track record of this since 2005 lol. Hell, we even have to use a different tag on tumblr aside from the main tag because they won’t leave us the fuck alone!

Of course they don’t care about the actual characters. They care about trope. They don’t actually understand the characters of ATLA, that includes Katara, Aang and even their fav Zuko. They just care about the tropes they like and projecting the tropes onto the characters even when said tropes don’t work with them. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, recently addressed investor concerns regarding Ethereum’s perceived market dominance loss. He responded to a query from a trader, asserting that Ethereum’s fundamentals remain “crazy strong” despite ecosystem challenges.

Ethereum’s Improvements

Buterin stressed several areas where Ethereum has seen significant enhancements. Transaction fees on Layer 2 (L2) solutions have fallen below $0.01, a crucial milestone in making Ethereum more accessible and cost-effective for users. Two Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible L2s, Optimism and Arbitrum, have reached a significant development stage.

He also mentioned progress in user experience with cross-L2 wallets. Earlier, users had to manually switch networks, a cumbersome process that has been significantly streamlined, though there’s still room for improvement.

Advancements in Ethereum

The development of Zero-Knowledge (ZK) tooling has advanced, according to Buterin, making it easier for developers to build applications on Ethereum with improved privacy and security features.

Ethereum has also seen an increased demand for second-generation privacy tools, like those offered by 0xbow. The identity, reputation, and credentials ecosystem within Ethereum has also become more robust, Buterin added.

He also spotlighted progress on STARKs (Scalable Transparent Argument of Knowledge), providing a clearer path towards long-term security and decentralization for the Ethereum network. The roadmap for account abstraction and block construction endgame has also become more defined.

In the previous month, Ethereum received a significant regulatory boost when the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved nine spot Ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs). These funds have recorded $458 million in net outflows since their launch. However, experts believe that they could attract over $20 billion in net inflows by mid-2025.

Market Performance

Despite expert opinions and Buterin’s assertion of Ethereum’s strong fundamentals, the market performance of Ethereum doesn’t reflect the same. Layer 1 and layer 2 projects in the ecosystem are facing significant financial struggles, with some on the verge of bankruptcy.

ETH, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, is currently trading around $2,635, marking a 25% decline over the past month. This is a significant drop from its all-time high of $4,891 in 2021, with ETH now down by 46% from that peak.

Meanwhile, Ethereum’s rival, Solana, often dubbed the “Ethereum Killer”, has seen notable growth with its network’s coins, such as MAGA and WIF, showing impressive surges in their value.

Solana’s total value locked (TVL) has surged by around 250% year-to-date in 2024, reaching $4.92 billion. While Ethereum’s TVL remains significantly higher at $49.4 billion, its growth rate has been a more modest 57% this year so far.
