An old concept that I redid a bazillion times, and I think I'm finally satisfied with the result! Horror circus au relatively human Zorc! Yaaaay! Anyway so when I'm talking about human Zorc this is the physical appearance I usually picture in my head... So I was looking at etymologies for different characters in YuGiOhs names right? And like. Obviously Zorc comes up. The Necrophades part of his name is obvious, connections to being a God of Death, essentially or at the very least a lot of death happens in connedtion to him. But Zorc is not a real name to me.

Then I found out people do have it for a last name bc there's a former German soccer player whose last name is Zorc.

And ancestry of all places had a meaning and origin for the name;

So two things;

Zorc's name is essentially Aurora Dawn Deathdeath and that is the most 2000s fanfiction name I've ever heard in my goddamn life.

Zorc is a name very close to George of all things.

What/who is Yami Bakura??? (Asking for fun.)

I love just about all yami bakura theories, but I only ever see the composite soul one talked about (Aside from one youtube video that takes the tkb is dead, yb is just zorc side of things)- So I made a poll with every YB solution ive seen or could think of (if you read my fic you know which one is mine). I will say I only believe "one" of these (I will say which when the poll ends, though I do have an " essay "about it on my blog- and the aforementioned fic), but I love an appreciate all theories! Thats the cool thing about fandom, we all play with our barbies differently- that is how we get cool new stories after all.

Let's all define this freak together homies!

There is no confirmed canon for him, only theories. Takehashi left him a mystery, as he should be honestly.

I cannot actually pick any of these poll options myself, because I believe in a combo of them (all will be revealed in time). There is a character limit on poll options though, so I couldn't include my choice (such sorrow). I believe in a "composite" of poll choices teeheehee.

Actually now that I think of it, there was a way to include my theory in the character limit, but only asa jokefull reference to another fandom. Aaaa. Too late now.

I am honestly living for your worse manga au. Its actually so fucking cool :D i love the way you draw the action- and the idea of attacking (and being able to attack) a spirit is such a fun idea!

thanks! doing this idly has been teaching me a Lot about choreographing fight scenes in a comic, which hopefully i won't have to do something serious with any time soon haha. and what it's turned out for this AU is a bunch of people who are really desperate to never be hurt again get locked in an arms race to find a way to hurt other people that won't come around and get them eventually, which does justify the magic i think, but also it does push for the magic to also be completely brutal and the visual behavior of spirits and souls to be the same as, if not worse, than the regular body. tldr all the shit marik pulls in canon (especially the scarab hourglass) owns hard and i want in and also for it to be worse and more direct. i'm glad this has wider appeal than to just me lol. cheers!
