Two guys, one tub

The next animation we did was the result of a random evening at the Zozoville Gallery. You know, fart jokes & stuff like that.

The clip is case study of some sort. Two guys sitting in a bath tub. The rest is history. This time I designed my own characters.

Bienvenue à Zozoville

La galerie berlinoise de Zozoville propose un monde de freaks tous plus attachants les uns que les autres.

De petits monstres à l'aspect mélancoliques observent les passants, cachés derrière la vitre d'une galerie. Un univers digne d'Alice au Pays des Merveilles, créé par Johan Potma et Mateo Dineen.

Les dessins exposés ressemblent dans un premier temps à des illustrations de contes pour enfants. Mais dès que l'on y regarde d'un peu plus près, on comprend que les couleurs pastels cachent des expressions plus graves, qu'adoptent les petits monstres de Zozoville en toute simplicité.

Johan Potma, illustrateur néerlandais, est désormais installé à Berlin, tout comme le co-propriétaire de la galerie, Mateo Dineen. Ce dernier est né aux Etats-Unis avec un crayon dans la main et a continué adulte à vivre dans le monde de monstres qu'il avait créé à l'époque. Pour le plus grand plaisir des visiteurs de la galerie.
