Lord, what went wrong in my life... I used to be a cute little child, but now I’m quickly losing my mind and feeling like my own emotions are tearing me to pieces... perhaps due to hyper-fixation on two fucked-ups... or perhaps I really am going crazy and stopping Zyprexa was a mistake... fuck it, I hate this medicine... fluoxetine rocks! Zyprexa go to hell!

In 2007, an F.D.A. official wrote that the agency approved Eli Lilly’s top-selling antipsychotic drug Zyprexa for use by adolescents based on the results of a Russian test, even though trials in the United States showed the drug had no effect. Why tests differed in Russia and the United States was never explained. Doctors now routinely prescribe the drug for American adolescents.

Calling bipolar friends and others who take antipsychotics

So I'm on Zyprexa/Olanzapine, and, as is common, I gained some weight - about 30 pounds. I've worked this year to lose what I can of that, and have actually successfully lost 23 pounds! (It would probably be a little more, but Chocolate Season comes for us all.)

But the strange thing is that it seemed like as I've lost weight, my meds aren't as effective. This last month in particular I have been alllll over the place with my moods. I don't know that I can really call any of them episodes since they usually only last a few days, followed by brief stability, followed by either a crash or a new bout of hypomania. I had a bit of a breakdown talking about this in therapy today, which is the first time I've cried in the whole process.

It's entirely likely this is coincidental to my weight loss. If anything it might be the reverse and that now that my weight has stagnated due to the aforementioned Chocolate Season, it's been hitting me hard. But it just seems odd that they have been steadily working less and less. And yes, I have been very diligent in taking them every time.

tl;dr does anyone know if the weight/zyprexa connection somehow works the other way? What could be causing this increase in symptoms?

things used to mean things to me. have i traversed too deep into reality, left too logical to ever again get lost in the things i love? have antipsychotics made me too logical to suspend disbelief and love tv and movies? i used to be able to disappear into the worlds of tv shows and movies and now when i watch them my brain just goes “those are just actors playing pretend. it’s not real.”

I split up my anti psychotic dose today bc I felt FUCKed anxious and I thought it would help calm me down (which it did) but now I am feeling soooooo spacey and out of it I do not like itttttt

Hey it’s day 2 well 3 I forgot to do a post yesterday but I felt really agitated at night I fell asleep at some point but it was really uncomfortable. Now I’m kinda afraid cuz I had a couple drinks with friends and I don’t really know how the treatment interact with alcohol so I guess I’ll know in a couple of hours .
