Do you guys think about Lucius drawing Pete with Blackbeard's head and how that might mean that Lucius is seeing Pete as someone who could hurt or kill him because he idolizes Blackbeard so much and because Pete didn't really care that Blackbeard hurt Lucius and now Lucius could be afraid that Pete and the other crew members would not only be capable of hurting him but might actually do so and it especially hurts him to think Pete might be capable of it because Pete was supposed to be his man, the one who was always on his side and now all he sees when he looks at Pete is danger?
Or maybe it's just funny haha Lucius sees Blackbeard everywhere lol

People always read Lucius' "We love an audience." as an admission instead of the snarky little snip at Wee John. I wish more people read it as a jab because it means that Wee John walked in on Lucius and Pete sucking each other off and decided to settle in for a nap. Then he had the ABSOLUTE GALL to complain that they were being too loud

They killed Izzy because they knew steddyhands endgame too powerful. Can you imagine the three of them in that little inn together? They'd fuck it down so hard nothing would be left. Or Stede would end up shooting the both of them within hours

It is homophobia that we never got to see any of this
Also LEROY???
Some ofmd facts from WJW livestream with Samba
Roach was originally going to join Blackbeard’s crew
Wee John was going to play Cupid to get rid of the sexual tension between Ed and Stede in the Calypso’s birthday episode
Roach was supposed to serve people soup and talk to groups of them in episode 3
Samba asked hbo about making the bts stuff official and they said no
Stede makeover scene
More zipline scenes - frenchie knocking roach over
Fang thinking Lucius was called Leroy
Jim crying when reuniting with Olu and saying they’re allergic to grass
Roach inventing peanut butter and jelly using the marmalade
Tender as hell was originally supposed to be beta as hell

It's a little fun fact about Fat Nuggets the pig that he was given to Angel as a gift from Valentino. What if there is a clause in Angel's contract that states if voided, all gifts must be returned to Val.
Imagine the Hotel celebrating Angel's contract being voided or removed only for Angel to remember that clause and rushing to see his baby piggy is already gone, reduced to ash or maybe whisked away to Val's studio. And Val would send mocking and threatening pictures of him and the pig to Angel, holding Fat Nuggets over Angel's head in an attempt to get him back under his control.

To be entirely honest, I'm happy it's ended like this. It was on a happy end with some (at least a lot of major ones) loose ends tied up
and they technically can't kill any more characters if the show is canceled
now I'm even more glad they wrote that ending, god if s2 had ended on a cliffhanger like s1 idk how I'd have coped, idk how- jesusfuck but yeah, I'm glad we ended on a happy note

I do love Modern AU meet cutes between Pete and Lucius even though in my heart I know the true modern meet cute is Pete and Lucius meeting in sketchy unlit bar and Pete immediately info dumps about wood working without even introducing himself while Lucius discreetly googles how much semen a person can injest before they have to go to a hospital

Every day I wake up and try to move on from this show, but I end up spending two minutes screaming into my closet about the fact that my boy Lucius kept getting told to shut up about his trauma in this season and that his "happy ending" was only given to him once he shut up and "moved on" and stopped being angry and that this was somehow portrayed as the healthiest reaction to trauma on the show.
But hey, if Frenchie's box and Izzy's shark and Archie's "they always get away with it" worked for them, why wouldn't it work for Lucius?

Another commission for a happy client. This time modern day Lucius and Pete in human form. So, in case you are wondering, if I draw humans: yes, I do. Just not outright portraits. I did them in the past and was always awkward and anxious about them.

Another reason I love Lupete so much is the dissonance from their tropes while at the same time, they play on those same tropes. It makes them less than characters and more like real people.
Here is Lucius. He's an effeminate gay man who flicks his wrists and quotes modern slang. He's a bit of a coward, screams a lot and is very bitchy. Also we fucking traumatized him and gave him a knife, he smokes and he's rightfully angry but he's so in love with his husband.
This is Pete. He's a real rough-n-tough bastard who demands blood and guts and gore, he's tried to mutiny at least twice and he's the picture of a masculine man. But he threw a party and made a 'pine-yada' for his boyfriend and friends to show them that they're in a safe space. He calls his husband pet names and worries about Lucius' nervous tummy. He finds creative solutions to problems, like killing the captain so they can finally do something or making Ed wear a cat bell so he doesn't scare people. He wants to help his traumatized boyfriend. He gets proposed to and says yes.
They are in love.
They defy and embrace their tropes.
