Fun fact: One of the writers for RWBY Miles Luna said that in a hypothetical world if Oscar had gone to Beacon early he and Oz’s relationship would start off so strong. Oscar would be asking questions and wanting to know how they can make the world around them better.

And Oz just loves Oscar, cuz he’s so kind and polite, so caring. They spend so much time together. Its great. How they’re so similar, then Oz has a horrible realization, how they are too similar.

That Oscar could be a possible future vessel for Ozma and that terrifies him, cuz he wouldn’t wish that upon anyone, so in true Oz fashion he pushes Oscar away and Oscar never knows why, and then the Fall of Beacon happens.

It’s such a heartwarming yet heartbreaking scenario to come up with and I love it so much.
