^^^ this absolutely. Brennan has that relationship with his players and honestly it's his persona on dropout in general. As much as he gets flustered or mad when they are chaotic, you can tell that he actually loves it. Same deal with game changer monologues and um actually "get in the comments!"

in the same vein, ally is expected to be chaotic, so they make big choices and sometimes walk them back a bit by saying, no that was just a goof, actually I do XYZ.

something really sweet about blimeygate was how hard ally tried to give brennan a way out, as much as they love chaos and jokes and doing it for the bit, they have huge respect for the game and the story and brennan and their fellow players, and they also have a real sensitivity for when everyone is comfortable for them to keep pushing it and when it might be going too far. and as much as brennan was like "I can't believe this" he was also able to communicate implicitly to ally that it's okay, they can keep going and commit to this path, he's still having a good time

so beneath all the nonsense (and believe you me there was a lot of nonsense) there was also this really strong current of mutual trust and respect and that's why blimeygate is so fucking funny and a wonderful moment at the table rather than being a ttrpg horror story (import into your home games with care and caution)

okay but he said sandralynn is not on the back of baxter. he didn't say that no one is. I'm REALLY hoping that somehow Ayda is the one on baxter.

In amongst the absolute chaos of everything that happened this episode, especially the end, a little thing that stuck with me was Baxter.

Emily got a Nat 20, and because of that, saw Baxter flying through the storm. Brennan specifically called out that Sandra Lynn wasn't onboard. It wasn't brought up again.

Where was he coming from? Was he coming to them? Where's Sandra Lynn? I am CONCERNED, Brennan. They better be ok.

Third to last episode of Freshman Year: it’s all coming together. The enemy is revealed, but so much time has been lost that chances of victory are slim. The heroes must rush to save their families, terrified they may arrive too late, and regroup with little rest to face their final battle.

Third to last episode of Sophomore Year: Kristen is dead (again). The party must split up and face their worst fears in shockingly emotional scenes, eventually to reunite with each other and prepare for the fatal fight ahead, searching for any way to save their fallen friend.

Third to last episode of Junior Year: “blimey.” *explodes*

okay but all jokes aside there is something to Kristen 2, who's got no idea what's going on or what's happening or what everyone is doing, looking at the face of an terrifying eldritch entity in the clouds above her, saying 'blimey' and divinely connecting to the God of Doubt and Mystery

nothing makes me laugh more than the idea that the campaign was set up for RIZ to run for president (re: his mom telling him to do more extracurriculars) and Ally/Kristen showed up day one with failing grades and a dream to make the most chaotic decisions possible and ruin Kipperface's whole deal.

it was played as a joke but

there's something genuinely harrowing about gorgug and kristen on the deck of the ship, pelted by rain, swarmed by dragons, these two teenagers looking at each other with wide eyes trying to bury the fear down deep, and

they were freshmen, they were children, they were two years younger but it feels like a hundred hundred years ago

it feels like yesterday, because deep down they're still that boy hiding his too large frame behind a metal flower and a girl stuffing her too large personality into the pages of her bible

i absolutely cant imagine what it must have been like to be kipperlily when kristen signed up to run for president. you have been watching the bad kids for years and SEETHING. you know all their names, all their classes, and every adventure they have ever been on. you have been planning for years and its finally time to kick off your candidacy. then it happens. you see kristen fucking applebees in a yellow tracksuit with a garbage bag full of sandwiches in one hand an application to run for president in the other. you approach and she has no idea who you are. not even in a ‘classmate i see in the halls but never talk to’ way. kristen applebees is sure she has never laid eyes on you in her life. before you know whats happening, you are mid-conversation with the bad kids (even your mortal enemy riz gukgak) and you arent even sure what you have said because your ears are ringing with rage. then kristens voice cuts through the noise and you hear it.
