Hiya! Is anyone else a massive Disnerd like me?? . Since I moved from Aus, I’ve been very careful about my purchases due to the fact that I do have to bring it all back with me when I move back home. And being a Disney fan isn’t easy with so many Disney stores and stockists around me. I am keeping myself very restricted and I think a lot about whether the item is worth buying and bringing back to Australia with me. I’ve been living in the UK for nearly a year now and I’ve only bought this Disney Animator’s Collection mug, the Beauty and the Beast pandora bangle (the charms were gifted to me), and this box set of Villain Tales by Serena Valentino. The books were an absolute steal! They were originally £32 but I got them for £7!! How could I not?! . I hope you’re all having a wonderful Tuesday 😊 #bookstagram #books #bookish #bookworm #disney #disnerd #disneyanimatorscollection #pandora #aussiebookstagrammer #aussiebookworm #aussiebooklover #aussieintheuk https://www.instagram.com/p/BztTWJ_lZin/?igshid=4wjy28eix8v3

Happy Saturday! Here is my first review for my most recently read novel -
TURTLES ALL THE WAY DOWN by John Green
This may contain SPOILERS so please don’t read this if you don’t want the book spoiled for you
Rating: 3/5
Aza, living with OCD and severe anxiety, attempts an amateur investigation into the disappearance of billionaire Russell Pickett with her best friend Daisy. Along the way, she reconnects with old acquaintance Davis, and embarks on a journey of love, friendship, and the discovery of selfhood.
As someone with anxiety, I resonated with Aza on some level - particularly when it comes to relationships and overthinking. Aza wasn’t my favourite character even though I could relate to her the most. I really enjoyed how Davis was written. He was probably my favourite character in the story. He was always honest with Aza about his emotions and vulnerabilities, and he was always patient with her when she spiralled. He never judged her. Aza, for me, was an okay kind of character. I didn’t love her, I didn’t hate her. She was fine. However, I definitely didn’t like Daisy. I felt that she wasn’t an understanding friend, or maybe didn’t try hard enough to understand Aza’s mental struggles. It took a tragic event to see that.
I didn’t care too much about the story itself either. Again, it was okay. It didn’t excite me, but it wasn’t boring or slow enough for me to stop. I wanted to get to the ending. Personally I felt that the ending wasn’t satisfactory. I felt there was not enough closure for me between the characters and how their relationships will be. It just ended.
I have read nearly all of John Green’s work and this one didn’t impress me. All in all, Turtles all the way down was an okay read, but I won’t be racing back for a reread anytime soon. I would recommend this book for older teenagers and adults, for John Green fans, and contemporary fiction readers.
Q: What are your thoughts on TATWD?
Please give me any feedback/tips you have. I would like to improve my review writing as much as I can 😊

Like seriously I wish we had a more comprehensive sex education program in the U.S. You know how many guys I know who had no idea an unaroused vagina is only 2-3 inches deep? Or that the cervix raises up when aroused to accommodate dick? Or that if a girl is “tight” that generally means she’s not turned on and you’re shitty in bed? Or that the cervix has an entire cycle it goes through throughout the month where is changes hardness, placement in the vagina, wetness? Like, when you’re ovulating your cervix gets soft and raises high up into the vagina and your hormones get you really horny. It’s like natures way of moving the furniture around and fluffing the pillow for dick because it wants to get pregnant. And before menstruation, it gets really hard and low in the vagina. It’s basically inactivating it’s Facebook and saying “I just need some alone time for a few days”
Ladies and gentlemen, take a moment to learn about vaginas. Men, take an interest into your woman’s menstrual cycle!

I wonder if people fully grasp the ironic beauty of Suzanne Collins choosing to end The Hunger Games series with Katniss saying the word “Real” to Peeta. It’s ironic. And it’s beautiful. Because for the span of three books, the main protagonist’s survival lingered on a fake relationship. A relationship that was an act. A relationship that wasn’t REAL. And Katniss continually tried to convince herself of this. She continually reminded herself and others around her that it was never real. And then, on the very last page of the very last book… we get that word. That one, beautiful, word. We get “Real.” And even though it seems like Katniss is saying this to Peeta in an effort to help him get through one of his episodes, she is really saying it to herself more than anyone. She is finally accepting that she loves this person and that she has loved him all along. That her love for him is, and has always been, REAL. It is an affirmation of Katniss’s love for Peeta. It’s so ironic and beautiful. That we never get to read about Katniss’s marriage to Peeta. We never get to read about them having children. We never even get an “I love you.” But we get something so much more powerful. We get “Real.” We don’t just get a declaration of love, but we get an ANSWER. An answer to whether or not ANY of it meant anything. And by Suzanne Collins choosing to end the series with this affirmation, she completely shuts down any doubt left in the reader’s mind. Not JUST doubt about whether Katniss really loves Peeta now, but she shuts down any doubt about every instance and moment of affection that Katniss had towards Peeta throughout the entire series. She sums it up so perfectly in that one word. Real. Ironic beauty at it’s finest.
