MuN and Grief Circle performed on the stage of the Desdemona club in Gdynia

On November 3, 2023, two music bands performed on the stage of the Desdemona club in Gdynia - MuN from Wrocław and the Grief Circle band from Sosnowiec.

Both bands proved that the Polish music scene is still rich in musical talents and still has the strength and magic of raw metal and rock playing.

Both Grief Circle and MuN represent the stoner metal trend, although it can be safely said that their work is based on both post, doom and stoner metal.

It is worth emphasizing that despite their young age, these are experienced teams. Sosnowiec's Grief Circle was formed on the ashes of the band Forge of Clouds, adding even more rubble to the resultant sludge, doom and post-metal. The vocalist, nicknamed Kvass, is known for the projects Psychotropic Transcendental and Moanna. Their debut album Weightless, produced by Haldor Grunberg of Satanic Audio, was released in October 2022 and received many favourable reviews.

However, the third album of MuN – “Presomnia” was very well received by both critics and fans. Much of this is due to the singer. Behind the microphone, Ozimir Gaslonsky stands out not only on the stoner scene with a very characteristic and specific singing style, which attracts attention even at the first listen. Of course, all the credit does not fall on the singer. Next to musical landscapes, the inhabitants of Wrocław place much heavier elements, but it still sounds fresh and original. Personally, I think it was one of the fantastic performances that put the group next to the now defunct Red Scalp at the forefront of the Polish scene. I will only add that we recently hosted the Hydra band at the Motor Pub in Słupsk.

So keep an eye on your calendars and come to concerts of the Polish doom, post, and stoner metal scenes because that's where real magic happens, and you can take part in it.

Kollhoff towers over The Hague

Continuation of The Hague presentation. From what I managed to grab while running. It is not without reason that he presents these shots. Firstly, the charm of autumn. Secondly. These are very famous buildings.

Kollhoff towers over The Hague. Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Justice Administration Building.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs is built of red brick, and the Ministry of Justice is covered with light granite. The towers are also called “JuBi-Gebouw”, Ju for Justitie and Bi for Binnenlandse.

The green skyscraper on the right is called “De Kroon” and was designed by Rapp + Rapp architects. At 131 m, it is slightly smaller than Kollhoff's two towers and was completed in 2011.

Two skyscrapers by Hans Kollhoff, a German architect and professor, were completed in 2012. A German architectural studio won the competition for new ministries in The Hague. Kollhoff is a representative of postmodern architecture and new classicism, as well as a hero of New Urbanism.

A pair of towers rises from the volume opening onto the promenade called Turfmarkt with the cour d'honneur cum garden. The ministry towers, with 36 floors and a height of 150 meters, stand out from the urban background with pilaster facades made of brick (for the Ministry of Interior) and granite (for the Ministry of Justice). The grey-green granite cladding of the base is made of four-centimeter-thick sandblasted slabs. These slabs are attached to the load-bearing wall with conventional stainless-steel anchors, with thermal insulation in between. In the corners of the ground floor, thicker L-shaped slabs supported by steel consoles were used.

This effectively emphasizes the expression of stability, which is also the intention of the hammered plinth. The rather flat facade of the first two floors with wide openings faces the street and connects to the ground with a curved profile, ending with a delicate course of strings. Shop windows are framed with brass-colored aluminium profiles. The second through fourth floor facades are topped by a tall main cornice that highlights the building's granite base and the shared ministries' functions. Here, the same casement windows that lie between the piers in the towers above serve as separate openings. Double windows allow natural, manually regulated ventilation throughout the building. The prefabricated facades of the towers are connected by pilasters which, covered with the same polished green granite as the base, break the upper edge of the wall and end in a crown. The connections between the elements disappear behind the overlapping panels, becoming invisible when viewed from the front.

The steeply sloping atrium, cut into the volume, has a main glazed front that overlooks the garden with revolving doors and brass-colored aluminium profiles. The garden is surrounded by a granite bench protruding from the building's plinth. This bench supports a fence made of decorative square posts and curved rectangular steel profiles coated in light anthracite. The tips are lacquered in gold.

Stary dysk twardy to Seagate ST 1000_M014 SSHD 1000GB z 8GB Nano Flash. Też dobry dysk. Jednak dla tego laptopa i przy aktualizacji do Win10 H bardzo spowalniał pracę komputera. Ale na pewno spełni jeszcze nie jedną rolę ponieważ nie zawiera żadnych błędów i jest w pełni sprawny.

Nowy dysk to natomiast dysk marki GOODRAM. Dysk elektroniczny SSD o pojemności 512 GB. Drugiej generacji. Po klonowaniu bardzo widoczna zmiana komfortu pracy i użytkowania laptopa przez użytkownika.

Head note - appears first and is also the first to oxidize and disappear. This is the earliest encounter with a fragrance just after the flacon is opened, sprayed or applied to the body. The head note, also known as the high note, includes scents that are intense in their aroma, but fresh and light at the same time, based on alcohol, which evaporates first from the composition. The persistence of the chords from the head note fades within an hour at the latest, although with the oxidation of alcohol, the fragrance begins to evolve after just a few minutes.

The head note can be green aromas, such as fresh grass, mint, cucumber or green tea; fruity, such as apple, watermelon, pineapple; citrus - lemon, orange, lime, tangerine, grapefruit or bergamot. Light herbal and spicy nuances may also be perceptible, including pepper, lemon balm, thyme, lemongrass, lavender or rosemary. Clean, aqueous, aldehyde-type accords also dominate the high note.

Exposition

The middle floor of the composition is the heart of the fragrance. Its persistence is longer than that of the high notes, and the perceptibility of the aromas appears after the latter has oxidized. The heart notes gradually blossom on the skin, fusing into one with its natural scent, to eventually disappear within a maximum of four hours, leaving room for the main, base ingredients of the perfume.

The heart notes comprise more than the top level of possible scents, while also constituting the dominant composition in the flacon. The heart of the composition, the proportions of the chords used and the dominant ingredients establish the fragrance group into which a particular brand and perfume line can be classified. Thus, the perceptible spicy scents of cinnamon, anise, cardamom or ginger indicate a hot, oriental character and the dominant orange blossom, jasmine, and rose, despite other captured chords, define the unambiguously floral nature of the perfume.
