So. I deleted the ask by mistake back when this happened, but this anon IMMEDIATELY jumped into my asks again with more walls of text. The original ask is from maybe a year or two ago, and maybe I just coincidentally caught them while they were online, but that feels kinda... off to me. shrug
They were using straight up TERF logic, claiming that misgendering is a form of misdirected homophobia (Who even asked for that??) and that aphobia is just repackaged misogyny.
I feel the need to include that yes, there can be overlap and intersection between different forms of oppression, and these things do happen. This is why intersectional feminism is a thing. But that does not mean that transphobia and aphobia, and other similar forms of oppression, do not exist.
Exclusionism doesn't have a place in the LGBT community, but neither does All Lives Matter. Aroaces aren't same gender attracted and don't share any of our social or political needs as a community. You're not cishet or LGBT.
????? Where is the correlation between aro/ace inclusion, and All Lives Matter???
Also, basing inclusion ONLY on being same-gender-attracted excludes literally any trans person who isn't attracted to people of the same gender as them, as well as any bi people who aren't attracted to people of their own gender.
LGBTQIA+, in my opinion, includes anyone who isn't a full combination of being dyadic/perisex and cishet. Aro/ace people absolutely fit that definition, and face discrimination specific to their orientation.

@terfrecords just got nuked. What will you do?
this blog isnt really active anymore, so nothing will change i guess. personally i think there are good twitter accounts that cover this stuff way better than i ever could, and tend to focus on specific issues like ableism and racism among GCs/TERFs. there are probably similar blogs here on tumblr.

Tumblr media
I have a small blog (less than 200 followers) I made a post for myself and my friends to see. It was one of the very few times I actually openly talked about being trans on my blog and I thought it might provide safety to tag it with DNI tags, boy was I wrong. They, like any other hate group, take vulnerable people to punch down and target these tags specifically. Opabinia or whatever the name reblogged it, I immediately blocked her. What I didn't know is that Tumblr doesn't actually remove reblogs from people you block, and that's very beneficial for this kind of hate group to target people for their peers to harass. This was not a discourse post, this was barely a serious post. I was just happy with myself and my close circle of LGBTQ+ friends and acquaintances. I have spent the last two weeks having to go like by like, reblog by reblog and even browse terf tags in order to block more people to be ahead of them. They keep coming, at this point I've lost entire nights just trying to shield myself and surround myself with trans positive people. This reblog was tonight. I'm just tired.

Man I hate when we take anonymous posts as receipts just like I hate it when terfs do because it's so obvious when it's a fake submission. We should only take seriously what is sent with a name attached. I see terf lesbians complain about anons that say "choke on a dick you dyke" and don't believe they didn't send it to themselves and I see anons tagged here where someone says "all cis men should be raped" and I know that's not a terf because they think cis is a slur and it's such a strawfeminist claim to begin with. We should hold ourselves to a higher standard.
Yeah, I agree. This blog is inactive, but I make sure to only post receipts that have legit evidence, and y'know, a specific person, server, etc. the receipt is about.

Hey i dont even use this blog anymore but i need to get this out of my system
People who say aroaces are cishet are fucking WILD. seriously, why the hell are you throwing the rest of the community under the bus by trying to tell us that being het and cis are the default?? All that’s gonna do is make more people who are still coming to terms w/ their own identifies and place in the community, aro/ace or otherwise, feel broken and shit????? And it’s also ruined the use of cishet by people who actually fucking mean something when they say it.
If you really, sincerely want to protect the LGBTQ+ community, you better actually fucking protect the people in it then instead of tearing us all apart. Exclusionism doesn’t have a place in the LGBTQ+ community. It never has, and never will.
Idk if I’m gonna ever check the notes on this, but im gonna leave replies open for anyone who wants to reply i guess

I don’t normally rb stuff like this to this blog and I’ve been super inactive here, but... I need somewhere to reply to this.
@kindaticklishswitch “people who are just doing their jobs.” suuuuure.
You do realize that the nazis who tore people from their homes were also “people who [were] just doing their jobs” too, right? “Just doing their jobs” absolutely includes enforcing laws that advance a facism regime.
(Also, I think it’s important to mention that kicking away a tear gas canister, a chemical weapon that is literally banned from military use, is definitely a way to protect the people being assaulted. Where else was this person gonna kick it, farther onto their side of the street??)

are intersex people who want to use hormones or have surgeries inherently trans ?? im rlly pissed about this because i say no but others disagree ... aaa
Honestly? I feel like it’s a matter of personal identity. I’m intersex+trans, but if you’re intersex+transitioning and don’t consider yourself trans, that’s not an issue imo. It’s a case-by-case sort of thing, just go w/ how intersex individuals personally identify and you’re good.

Orientation isn't the same as sex??? It isn't inappropriate to let people know what your sexual orientation is. If being openly LGBT+ is tmi because it's some detail about what you do in the bedroom, so is being cis and straight.
Plus, being aro/ace isn't a preference, it's an orientation. I'm ace and I don't experience sexual attraction of any kind, and that's my sexual orientation. It's not some decision I've made, like celibacy. It's literally just my orientation.
you can be discriminated against for sexual preference without being lgbt
kinksters may lose their jobs if they mention their unusual sex life
people who decide to be celibate may experience difficulty or pressure in personal relationships
these people are not inherently lgbtq+
your sexual or romantic preferences do not make you lgbt+
only your actual sexual orientation or gender expression make you lgbt+
