when- when— at the sydcarmy wedding they have photos of the dishes they’ve made together in a timeline, but the first one is the EMP Sydney’s favorite meal dish— because she took so many photos of it when she got it!!

guys im tired of sad endings of sitcoms/dramedys.
i feel like people write them so they come off as more realistic, because life isn’t full of happy endings, but.. like this is TV. An escape from our lives full of disappointing endings and unfulfilled fantasies. We don’t need to see endings like that on our screens.
I’m not saying all endings have to be sunshine and rainbows, but ending things on an unfulfilled note isn’t a good writing choice imo. We should let characters be happy in the end, because in life, not everything this bleak. And because when things end, they don’t continue, obviously, so we’re not letting these characters who we have attachments too, live happily. There’s a reason fairytales end with happily ever after. And I know these shows aren’t fairy tales. But there’s a reason fairy tales are used to make people happy.
I feel like this ‘trend’ of unhappy/“realistic” endings defeat the purpose of watching TV. To escape. but thats all just my opinion, and if you disagree, all power to you.
#yes this is about the bear#i know its not over yet but the endings of s2 and s3 were pessimistic#and ted lasso tbh#tv shows#sad ending#the bear#sydcarmy#screenwriting#no happy ending#endings

l am so pissed that sydney got barely any time on screen this time. We get to know about the background of all these characters but nothing on sydney. I think if there is a part 2 it will be more centered around her and her ultimate decision to leave carmy.
I'm really holding on to hope for their being a Part 2 that will be announced next week based on that To Be Continued slide. Cause forcing everyone to wait a year to watch any sort of plot development play out since season 2 is just ridiculous. Like I really don't know how they can justify this being a full season arc for any of the characters aside from maybe Nat. Nothing happened. Sydney's entire thing of her leaving is still not even mentioned to Carmy. Carmy didn't address Donna or meet his niece. Richie is still fighting with Carmy since Season 2, he's still in a weird limbo with his ex wife. Carmy is still locked in the freezer in his head. Nothing happened. And a lot of what did happen was completely off and out of character or just missing their essence.
