It seems more like these people have some purity complex where they want to erase any trace of some perceived "original sin". Only by destroying any hint of "their camp" ever having associated with anything "problematic" or "harmful" can they avoid being tainted by association. It's not censorship, it's Queer Calvinism.
One of my biggest frustrations in trying to discuss queer media is how many people seem incapable of separating "this is an important milestone in representation" from "I did or did not enjoy this piece of media." Media analysis goes beyond just "fandom stuff," and queer media in particular deserves analysis and discussion because of how hard it's been stifled.
It doesn't matter if you hate Steven Universe, it's still important to talk about, because it showed the first queer wedding in American children's television. It has been cited by the creators of subsequent queer family animation as a major milestone in allowing their shows to enter production. The Ruby/Sapphire wedding is a historical milestone, and that doesn't stop being true just because you hate the show or think the ending was bad.
It doesn't matter if you think Will & Grace is entertaining or if you have any real interest in watching it, it's still a majorly important entry in televised queer representation. It kicked down the door to allow even more to come after, and deserves credit for what it did even if you don't personally care about the story.
It doesn't matter if you have any personal interest in Rocky Horror Picture Show, it's still got a ton of important history in queer spaces. Understanding why Rocky Horror showings were and still are hubs of queer expression is important even if you despise the movie and the creator.
Giving credit for representation milestones doesn't mean you can't have criticisms of a piece of media, it doesn't mean you have to like the media, and it doesn't mean you can't prefer other media. It doesn't mean it's free from problematic material, it doesn't mean it's god's gift to television, it doesn't mean it's better or worse storytelling than other stories.
It just means it's worth talking about and understanding the context in which it was made.

when I currently wear all black, band tees and hoodies, absolute frankenstein ripped jeans that I've modded myself, and black leather boots with DIY bootstraps?
I think they were onto something with "outside your comfort zone" but for some reason people somehow take it to mean "look more like a cross between a Hot Topic manufacturing error and a landfill in weaboo county". Dressing like a normie would be way, WAY outside your comfort zone then. Try something that is as un-punk as can be. Find something square. And make that work. Perhaps a suit. Or maybe something truly unremarkable, trying to find a twist that doesn't just make it more like what you already wear. Or worse, take something that feels mundanely outdated. Not outdated in the cool, nerdy historical reenactment sorta way but the "holy cringe I look like my grandfather in this" sorta way.
Hey what can you do if you're bored of the way you look but you also should absolutely not fuck with your hair?

I mean, he is clearly dunking on the SUPER SERIOUS PLZ request, but at the same time I think of something @idolomantises said:
(pardon the ping but I am not gonna talk about someone behind their back)
If they can't pick up a pen without accidentally turning every character into a gorgeous, violent lesbian then it would be shitty of me to make that a moral failing. It's not their job to provide content for me to consume, and most certainly not according to some arbitrary moral spec sheet that only exists in my head. (TL;DR: Quill can draw whatever the fuck they want.)
To bring this back to Oda, by the same metric I defend Quill I can't in good conscience dunk on Oda for only drawing two female body types: "Stay Puft" and "o8X rotated 90°". Or the late Toriyama for having woken up one morning and decided to draw at most two dozen different faces for the rest of his life.
And before people try to "prove me wrong": Does any of this mean that Oda doesn't hold misogynist beliefs? Lol. Lmao. Not in the slightest. But that's just saying you think your line of reasoning is good because you know you are right. And if you ever catch yourself justifing an argument with "but I know I'm right so why does my argument matter"... Incinerate the argument.

How do you assholes have the mental bandwidth to dedicate thoughts to yet another shitass live action Disney film
Fuck outta my dash, I use adblock uMatrix for a reason.
"Oh but it's so ba-" shut the fuck up. You knew it would be shit for years. KID YOU knew it would be shit back in 1996 after being exposed to 101 fucking dalmatians. Or Jungle book (1994), or Alice in Wonderland (2010, also: zoomer spotted). Quit licking rotten dogshit off Disney's boot. You have nothing of worth to say on the subject and neither does anyone you reblog, unless they tell you to shut the fuck up about The New Remake™.
Here's something for you to reblog, you consumerist fucks.
#disney#live action remake#disney movies#I'm not going to tag any particular Disney IP here#I can just reblog this exact post several times a year#until I die#none of you ever learn#alternatively: I might as well add EVERY fucking Disney IP#look forward to the Inside Out™ live action remake btw#or the Zootopia™ live action remake#western animation#or lack thereof#cartoon#I am looking forward to people taking this the wrong way#piss on the poor website#and all that#you are part of the viral marketing campaign#the worst part is that I am complicit by virtue of addressing this shit show at all

TERFs are feds, plain and simple. So are all feminists that incite violence (not the self defense kind, the "preemptive strike" kind).
the thing that terfs don't seem to understand about their brand of 'feminism' is that even if we take trans people out of the equation completely, the root of their ideology is still not feminist, because its based in a form of segregation that's impossible to enforce without imposing strict and seperate rules re. how women (and men) have to look and behave in order to be deemed an acceptable member of their sex.
like in a world without any trans people, if you want to draw a firm line between men and women, you have to be able to tell the difference between those two things. how? a cis man wearing a dress and makeup could, depending on the features he happens to have, pass for the absolute stereotype of a cis woman, and a cis woman with short hair and square features in loose clothing could easily pass for a stereotypical cis man. so now we have to make it so that men have to dress in manly clothes and women have to dress in girly clothes, otherwise they'll be kicked out of their Gender Space on the grounds that they look like they don't belong, and if they don't fit in, they have to assimilate or get the hell away from those of us who are Pure and Good and Belong Here
sorry terfs but if you're arguing for a world where women who don't look enough like a barbie doll have to submit to genital inspections before they're allowed to pee, that isn't feminism lmao - any real feminist will tell you that feminism is about breaking down gender roles and barriers between the sexes, not building them back up but stronger this time

"The trannies should be able to piss in whatever toilet they want and change their bodies however they want. Why is it my business if some chick has a dick or a guy has a pie? I'm not a trannie or a fag so I don't care, just give 'em the medicine they need."
"This is an LGBT safe space. Of COURSE I fully support individuals who identify as transgender and their right to self-determination! I just think that transitioning is a very serious choice and should be heavily regulated. And there could be a lot of harm in exposing cis children to such topics, so we should be really careful about when it is appropriate to mention trans issues or have too much trans visibility."
One of the above statements is Problematic and the other is slightly annoying. If we disagree on which is which then working together for a better future is going to get really fucking difficult.

One thing I really appreciate about Dandadan is how you basically have these two massive nerds with niche interests. And the first thing the bigger loner of the two does when he realizes her niche interest isn't his is go "hey yo that's some CRINGE shit".
10/10 the most realistic depiction of how these things actually go. What, bonding over shared experiences? Trying to relate to feelings of alienation? Not making other's blessings about one's own inadequacies and having to compensate for that by being an ass? Nah thanks let's just make up what is going on in each other's heads and dunk on each other so we can spend the rest of the day isolated and miserable.
Many nerd loners aren't uwu wallflowers that just need a hug. They are fucking dickheads who feel justified in their dickheadedness because of their often shitty experiences. You gotta be able to tank a couple volleys of their self destructive lashing and retarded ass self imposed walls. But you are also allowed to retaliate.

I think I dropped an IQ point reading this brainrot. Impeccable.
I don’t think you guys understand how important it is that 4chan went down a few days before the pope met JD Vance then died on 4/20(4/21?)which is not only Easter, weed day,and the anniversary of columbine but also hitlers birthday at the age of 88

Now is a good time to remind everyone that the people that tanked the site to begin with were those that were banned from 4chan for being too transphobic.
All those jokes about Tumblr being the social media platform of last resort every time another big player shits the bed are gonna stop being funny real fast if we end up getting a big influx of ex-4channers.
