It’s the start of the week. Make a simple goal to avoid sugars this week. Take note of how the body feels throughout the week without refined sugars (things you know have a ton of sugar in them) in the body. Tell me how you feel everyday. #Repost @crossfittraining with @get_repost ・・・ No Sugar! Avoid added sugar and artificial sweeteners. Processed foods are usually sweetened with fructose and consumption can lead to peripheral insulin resistance. The sugar in real foods is also a mix of fructose and glucose, but the density of both types of sugar is typically lower, and real foods also contain fiber. Fiber slows the digestion of food and the rate of absorption of sugar, leading to lower serum insulin levels and less impact on the liver. Interesting Fact Hormones called incretins are released in the small intestine in anticipation of high blood glucose. Artificial sweeteners stimulate the release of incretins, which activate a mechanism that produces higher levels of insulin in the body. It is this response that makes artificial sweeteners a risk factor for insulin resistance.
