Riots have been plaguing the neighbouring region for months, yet Lady Campbell is still surprised when a battalion is stationed at her estate. Despite her dislike of the army, she finds herself falling in love. What she never expected was that the man she had fallen for was actually a woman in disguise.

is this a normal thing to do with fics ???

i finish a chapter, proofread it (miss at least one error), make it a nice format for ao3, then post it... i just pray that it makes enough sense to be enjoyable lmao

there are always stupid typos missed tho - i swear i find one every time i reread my writing

Whenever I finish a chapter of my fic, I let it sit for at least a few days before reading it out loud as I edit it. This is really useful for catching repeated words, realizing I can cut a line that over-explains things, realizing I need a transition line, realizing that something flows better as one paragraph or creates more tension as three.

Unfortunately, it does nothing to stop me from noticing a week later that I have made three of the stupidest typos known to man.

Proposal for new fandom etiquette:

If you read a fic because it was linked/recced somewhere, you leave a comment saying "came from XXX" and that comment doesn't need to include anything else.

Because when all of a sudden there's a lot of activity on one particular fic I WANNA KNOW WHY!!!!!

Cosmosgate Satellite 11: Coda — Ch. 1: Shake it Off

In a first for the Satellites series, this one consists of five short vignette-like chapters, closing out the latest Stewart family karaoke evening (Chapters 54-56 of My Cosmos is Yours) by tracking the various participants after they leave Kate's house at the end of the evening.

This first chapter follows Sam as he’s being driven to the train station by the boys, and features a little bit of bonus karaoke (car-aoke?) and light (or not so light) conversation.
