I've really wanted to start a youtube channel for a little bit now. I've realized that a lot of the things I want to talk about at length would work far better as long form video essays than long posts on this platform. I don't know how successful this endeavor would be BUT. I have a few topics that I'd love to tackle but I want to see if anyone would be interested in the things I want to talk about.

Such as

*Creativity in comics has taken a backslide, and that's a bad thing

*Horror in comics needs to comeback and here's why.

*Fallout 4 is good, actually. And here's why.

*Lies of P is brilliant, and here's why.

These are just SOME of the ideas I have. Please, let me know if you'd be interested in hearing me talk about these topics. I'd love to see some feedback and start some conversations on these topics.

Slight continuation of a previous rant.

Characters like Nightwing deserve better than to constantly be in the background or remain at mostly sidekick status. Nightwing needs his own, ongoing, solo comic. I want to see more of him being able to be his own character outside of the shadow of the Bat. Genuinely speaking, why don't characters like Red Hood, Nightwing, etc, have ongoing comic runs like Batman or Superman? This literally becomes an issue when you're looking at Batman runs where the story has maybe 20ish pages of just Batman doing Batman stuff and then 90+ pages of useless sidekick characters doing fuckall. (I know this is an exaggeration but still) These issues could literally be resolved by giving these side characters their own runs to oh I don't know...do something interesting for once?

We need, as a community of people who love superhero games, to talk about something.

Insomniac (the studio currently in charge of major marvel games) has announced that despite original plans to have some, Spider-Man 2 will not have story DLC. I honestly, genuinely believe that this is a direct result if their 10 year plan getting leaked by morons who couldn't just wait to find out what they had in store for the future. Furthermore, if you were involved in the leak, it is your actions that caused 50ish% of the employees at Insomniac to be without a job for their own safety.

Let me make myself abundantly clear. To everyone ready to jump down Insomniacs' throat for not making DLC...this is...quite literally your own fault. There are consequences for your actions and the rest of us who were patiently waiting for it get to lose out on it too. Sucks to suck. We need to do a better job at reminding ourselves as a community that the people who work on these games are human beings with lives and families to go home to...and the more absurd shit we as a community pull, the more entitled Insomniac is to take things away from us. Getting these games is a privilege, getting DLC is a privilege. We need to start acting like reasonable people.

As someone who watched a close friend die of a terminal disease, you have no idea how hard it is to watch someone slowly, painfully pass away over time. And how it feels to know that relief from that suffering is literally a pillow away. Its easy to talk big game when you're not staring down the barrel of it. But trust me...when you're hearing your friend beg them to euthanize him because breathing is painful...when you watch this friend have to be sedated in order to just sleep...that pillow starts to look like the most merciful way out. If you haven't ever had someone close to you die due to a terminal illness, you have no room to be speaking on what is or isn't selfish when it comes to what someone might do to end that suffering. Cancer is far more cruel and selfish than a pillow.

I have an UNPOPULAR OPINION.

If you play Silent Hill 2 and interpret James killing his wife as an act of malice and evil you're interpreting the FUCKING STORY WRONG AAAAAAAAA

She literally had cancer. He couldn't bear to see her suffer any longer and did the only thing he could reasonably think to do given the circumstances. I am genuinely so done with people believing that Silent Hill only attracts inherently evil people.

James is not evil. He was a grieving husband who couldn't bear to see his wife continue to suffer. Pyramid Head is a manifestation of his guilt and want to be punished for what basically equates to a mercy kill. The nurses are a manifestation of his pent up sexual frustrations, sure, but I genuinely do not believe we were ever meant to interpret that being the reason he did the thing.
