ways your characters can show varying emotions
to show sadness (grief, sorrow):
- sharply sucking in a breath
- hiccuping from crying so hard
- uncontrollable sobbing
- slumped shoulders, head down
- weather can be used to show emotions — not just rain, but a shining sun and birds chirping contrasts well with a grieving character
- depending on the person, sadness can result in lashing out at others for no reason or shutting everyone out
to show anger (rage, frustration)
- red face, fists clenched
- narrow eyes
- sharp comebacks, gritting teeth
- the air around them is tense
- others may be silent, ignoring whoever they’re angry at
- inhales
- angry. tears.
- kicking, punching, slapping
to show shock (hurt, confusion)
- wide, confused eyes
- freezing in place
- collapsing to their knees
- silent and blank-faced
- ignoring everything else happening around them
to show happiness (joy, delight)
- bright eyes
- crinkles around their eyes from smiling so much
- laughter!
- optimism
- playful, laid back nature
- the weight being lifted off their shoulders
- relaxed sigh
if you’d like me to do more of these, please like and reblog, and follow for more!

My Background!
I will explain to you how I ended up wanting to become a well accomplished writer. I’ll include some tips and information! Hope you enjoy it <3
Beginning of Writing: Wattpad
2013–2017
I started my writing adventure in 2013 after reading one of my friends work and watching The Vampire Diaries. For the first time in my life, I felt like this is something that I want to do for the rest of my life. Write. My imagination was always wild, so I decided it’s a great idea to put it into use.
My first ever Fan-fiction made an appearance in 2013 on ( back then leading platform) Blogger. Sadly, the only person reading it was my friend but I’m not complaining. It kept me going!
At the end of 2013, I decided to take a short break from writing. No one was paying attention to my work which put my creativity down. However, in the middle of 2014, I met people who were very absorbed by my writing. It was a sign for me to go back to work. For a few months, I continued posting my work on Blogger until I came across Wattpad, and that's when the fun started!
It turned out that Wattpad was even more popular than Blogger. If anyone wanted to post their work online, their first choice would be that website. My creativity improved. I had an idea after an idea and many views and comments. Although my dream come true, I didn't feel fulfilled. Something was missing. At the end of 2017, all of my work seemed dull. Fan-fictions didn't work well, and I stopped writing.
College
2017 – 2018
In 2017 I joined College with a new goal. My new passion was editing videos. I decided on becoming a professional editor. Days were passing slowly, everything was becoming dull, and I realised this is not what I want to do. I opened the Word application and began writing. It was an awful time in my life, and I used it as my weapon. My writing wasn't based on someone else story. It was based on my own life experience, and I quite enjoyed it. It was one of my first pieces written entirely in the English language. If you think your work is terrible because English isn't your first language, remember you are not alone. Even people using this language since birth struggle!
Few months had passed, and I had more and more ideas — all in a completely new language for me. I wasn't satisfied with the outcomes. I felt like whatever I was reading didn't make any sense. All my work made me wanna drop writing again and never come back. However, at the end of my media course in 2018, I heard about Journalism Course coming in. That was my chance to improve my English and writing skills. Without thinking, I applied and ended up on a two-year course. I had a fantastic teacher who helped me explore different areas of creative writing. I realised how good I was at writing poetry or how easy it was to write an article.
Soon after I started, I began writing more and more — different ideas, all of them independent.
Present time:
2019 – Current
Since 2018 till today, I have had done many ongoing projects from fiction to romance, thriller, horror, action and others. I realised there isn't a specific genre I am good at writing. Everything I drafted was including different stories and endings. My plan for the future is to study Creative writing at University and publish my book one day.
What helped me the most?
Grammarly! I was struggling with forming sentences, punctuation and grammar. I found Grammarly in early 2016 but never used it. Somewhere around 2018, I decided to give it a try and fell in love with it! It saves your work automatically, corrects your mistakes and explains what went wrong. Only recently I made up my mind and bought Grammarly Premium. It gives me better sentences ( something I’ve been struggling for a while), informs me when my wording is terrible or what should’ve improved. I recommend it to every writer out there!
So get you cup of coffee or tea and do it! Write, write, write until there is nothing to writ no more ( never going to happen)

What is writing?
Writing is a method of representing language in visual or tactile form. Writing systems use sets of symbols to represent the sounds of speech, and may also have symbols for such things as punctuation and numerals.
