How very depressing that Neil Gaiman had trended not even a tiny bit for demonstrating what a fucking horrific person he is.

As a reminder, he's suing Caroline Wallner, one of his accusers, for breaking her NDA. Not for libel. He's saying she shouldn't have told anyone about it, not that she lied.

He doesn't need the money. He's risking the Streisand effect. He is punishing Caroline, he's trying to intimidate other victims who have signed NDAs to scare them into continued silence.

He is no friend to women, to the LGBTQIA+ community, to anyone quite frankly unless he thinks they are of value to him.

Share the story. Put it on Facebook and bluesky and whatever else you're on. Make it clear what a horrifying person he is. Tell your friends. He's paying Edendale a fortune to try and cover this up. Make this hard for him. Make it cost him money.

Hello, my name is Areej Kassab. I’m a 27-year-old English teacher and writer from Gaza, and I’m reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for support. My family and I are enduring unimaginable hardships as relentless bombings devastate our home and our dreams.

We are a family of 15—10 adults and 5 children. Every day is a battle for survival. Food is scarce, humanitarian aid is not reaching us, and my little nieces and nephews go to bed hungry. Among them is my sister, who is deaf, and another sister who has a newborn baby. They, too, are suffering in this crisis, and I’m doing everything I can to protect and provide for them.

💔 A Life in Ruins The war has robbed us of everything: safety, peace, and even the hope of a future here. My family’s needs are basic yet critical—food, clean water, diapers for the babies, gas for cooking, and other essentials to make it through each day.

With rising prices and limited access to necessities, we are struggling to provide even the most basic items. My sister’s home has been destroyed, and we are working together to ensure everyone has shelter, food, and warmth.

Traumatized in Ireland While my Family is Facing Death and Starvation in Gaza

I contemplate the happy faces of people around me here in Ireland and reminisce about the happy normal life my family and I had before the war. A life that turned into a distant memory for us and was replaced by an unending series of horrible nightmares.

Unlike my family in Gaza, people here have access to drinking water, all types of food, electricity, and a roof over their heads. Above all, they are safe, and I cannot help but wonder if they genuinely do appreciate these blessings in their lives enough.

People seem relaxed and laughing wholeheartedly around me in Ireland. I wish I could laugh too, but I am crushed way beyond recovery on the inside. I was evacuated by my Irish college after five months of living the horrors of war in Gaza. I hope you will never know what it feels like to live in constant fear and worry and be horrified by the most sickening and scary nightmares every single night while you are far away from your family in such circumstances.

When did my people in Gaza cease to be human beings worthy and deserving of a normal life? Has it become normal now for my family in Gaza to be starved and killed while the whole world is watching the genocide? If that is the case, then you will have to excuse me if I seek every avenue to bring them to Ireland and start a new normal life like all people here around me.

I was assured by the Irish Reugee Council (IRC) and lawyers in Ireland that there is hope I can reunite with my family in Ireland. In difficult times, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For me and my family, you are literally our light and hope for a better life.

helly not wearing any shoes in the last scene is so important to me

the first time we see her take of her shoes it is out of shame and grief – because something has been taken from her. after realizing to what extent Helena would go to have control over her, and by the fact that she is practically powerless to do anything about it, she feels hopeless and alone. this is clearly depicted through how she sits in a fetal position, looking very small in the big white hallway, almost like a child.

here she takes off her shoes in an effort to reclaim some sense of her own bodily autonomy after Helena has done everything to show her she doesn’t have any. taking of her shoes is to show Helena, but also herself, that she is a person, not only a “worker” dressed in appropriate clothing. that even if Helena may dress her in the morning, at least she gets to decide how and what she wears. she can take off her shoes simply because she wants to.

she takes of her shoes again with mark s, when they have sex in the same episode. then it’s a display of intimacy, of being vulnerable and open with another person. being truly and authentically herself, no Helena involved.

and in the finale? running hand in hand with mark toward the unknown? It’s a display of freedom. here she takes off her shoes to take something back. she is not Helena. she doesn’t have to abide by Lumons rules and traditions, she doesn’t have to be an emotionless machine who sacrifices all personhood in favor of Lumons success and legacy. she is not Helena, and that makes her powerful.

here she takes off her shoes to rebel, to stand up for her life and for herself. she takes off her shoes to be able to run towards the man she loves, as fast as she can. and he chooses to stay with her, because he loves her. here she is neither alone nor powerless <3
