Why are they like little green cotton balls

This comic basically answers the question...

I had this small idea for the sniggles, finding out later a hundred flaws to them. "Why are they only green?" "Why are the antennas color coded?" "Why are they cotton balls?"

I cannot answer any of these questions other than, I stuck with an idea and called it a day.
