The Raven King BOOK REVIEW (minor spoilers)
A/N: First I would like to say that this review is based on my opinions of the book which I am entitled to have! I would also like to point out that this review does contain minor spoilers but they are spoilers non the less so you have been warned!
BOOK NAME: The Raven King
AUTHOR: Maggie Stiefvater
RATING: 5/5
Summary (taken from the back of the book): For years, Gansey has been on a quest to find a lost king. One by one, he’s drawn others into this quest: Ronan, who steals from dreams; Adam, whose life is no longer his own; Noah, who's life is no longer a life; and Blue, who loves Gansey... and is certain she is destined to kill him. Now the endgame has begun. Dreams and nightmares are converging. Love and loss are inseparable. And the quest refuses to be pinned to a path.
Favourite character: Ronan/Adam (once again) I can’t stop loving these characters! Their development throughout the four books has made me really feel like I know them. They both come from different but also slightly similar backgrounds and the author is very good at creating interesting and heart wrenching story lines for both characters that just make you want to keep reading. (I cannot wait for Ronan’s book series to come out!)
Was it well written?: YES YES YES! Maggie Stiefvater has such an amazing skill of writing and I could not put the book down. I have to say that this book hands down was the best of the series and It held you till the very end. There were times that I felt like I was there at that moment which I find that most books that are out now try to hard to make that happen. I congratulate her for her amazing writing and can’t wait to read more of her work.
Thoughts:
* Adam/Ronan kiss scene(s): I found that this scene was dropped on you very quickly even though you were slightly expecting it to happen. It was however so well written and so well captured that it worked really well into the book. It was dropped onto Adam just as fast as the readers and I felt that having it take both Adam and the readers by surprise was a good way to slip it into the crazy storyline.
*Gansey’s Character: Throughout the entire series but especially in this book you can feel Gansey’s emotions and can really see that he just wants everything/everyone to be okay. One of the lines that hit me the most in this book was when Gansey missed the fundraiser at the school and his mother leaves him a voicemail saying: “I know you have your own life, I was just hoping to be apart of it for a few hours.” THIS LINE MESSED ME UP!! not a lot of people realize that once you get older/move away from your parents how much time you miss out on with them when this scene was taking place I felt like i was in that moment with them listening to the voicemail and it low-key hurt my heart.
* I found that orphan girl (Opal) was like the innocent side of Ronan much like Matthew (since he was dreamt by Ronan) In my opinion she was like the child Ronan could never be.
* Jeong - We instead of you and me. THIS WAS AMAZING... (thats all :) )
* You could FEEL the disappointment when Gansey found Glendower dead. They spent SO LONG looking for this treasure and Glendower and when they found out that he was dead the atmosphere dropped and it made you just want to jump into the book and just hug everyone!
All in all I think this book was the best of the cycle and I am definitely going to read this series again in the near future before Ronans books come out and the tv show!!
A/N: Feel free to send me books that you would like me to read/review!

Blue Lily Lily Blue BOOK REVIEW (spoiler free!)
This is my first ever book review so please be kind! This is also being written on my phone so bear with me! A/N: I would like to say now that this review is based on my own opinions which I am entitled to. if you feel like I am wrong about something or don’t know what I am talking about feel free to send me a message and we can have a discussion!
BOOK NAME: Blue Lily Lily Blue ( third book in the raven cycle) AUTHOR: Maggie Stiefvater RATING: 5/5 DESCRIPTION: This is the third book of the raven cycle and has to be my favourite book so far of the series. I don’t want to give to much away but the raven cycle as a whole follows four prep school boys Gansey, Ronan, Adam, and Noah as they search for ley lines and a sleeping king. MAIN CHARACTERS: GANSEY: (who I am definitely calling the leader of the group) he is obsessed with the search for his sleeping king. He also always tries to help out his friends and sometimes it doesn’t go over to well. ADAM: Adam is by far my favourite character. He is so broken throughout these books and has had so many rough patches that makes his character so loveable you just want to protect him at all costs.
RONAN: Ronan is my second favourite I feel like both he and Adam have the most in dept character descriptions/storylines out of all of the boys even though gansey is the ‘main character’ in these books. Ronan is always trying to do what’s best for his brother Matthew and he definitely tries to act tougher than he is. Don’t get me wrong he will fight you in a heartbeat but under his tough guy act you can tell that he is unstable and just needs a hug! NOAH: Noah isn’t around for much of the book series but when he is he makes an impact. He is bold and also has a touch of innocent little kid to him. Throughout BLLB you can tell that he is nervous and scared during the events that take place. Although Stiefvater didn’t have Noah in many scenes in the book she definitely didn’t waste his character. Noah is one of the few 'background’ characters that has a good storyline to him and makes you want to learn more. BLUE: *sighs* please don’t attack me but I did not like blues character. I found blue to be very well described and her storyline was fair but I also found he to be whiny and just plain annoying. I can’t exactly pinpoint what I found wrong with her but I found myself rolling my eyes whenever she was mentioned. Blue was one of the main characters and also had an impact but I felt that she could have been developed better as her character traits did not appeal to me. FAVOURITE CHARACTERS: Ronan Lynch and Adam Parrish. (Yes, I ship it) Ronan and Adam had to be by far the best developed characters in the story and throughout the series. I felt like Blue and Ganseys stories seemed to just drag on with no real intention of getting anywheres and was only written to make the story into what it is now. Adam and Ronan’s characters had story lines that flowed throughout the first three (and the fourth which I am about to read) books and I can tell that they are going to be developed more in the final book. They both come from very different families but you also get to learn about their backstories and how they became who they are now. With the other characters I just couldnt find a connection to them even though the author gave us backgrounds for both Gansey and Blue they were just plain boring and not well developed enough for my liking. WAS THIS STORY WELL WRITTEN?: Hats off to Maggie Stiefvater for doing such an amazing job with this series. Each book (except for the dream thieves but that’s for another review) pulled me in and kept me captivated until the end. I never wanted to set the books down and finished the first three in about two weeks. Her writing was fantastic and flowed so easily it is hard to find writers like this around anymore and I am so glad to have stumbled across this series. (I am screaming at the fact that there is going to be a tv show as well as a Ronan centred series) RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CHARACTERS: I LOVED the relationship between the characters. The author did such an amazing job at writing these characters and making them flow together so easily. These characters just made you want to be apart of their group and you could just tell that they all loved each other and are going to be friends for life. WOULD I READ THIS BOOK AGAIN?: YES, this series has got to be in my top 5 and I am definitely going to read it again before the tv show starts. WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK?: YES, if you love mysteries/magic/adventure you are going to love this series. It is captivating and the characters/ overall books are so well written that you would be crazy not to pick it up the next time you go to the bookstore!
A/N: ALRIGHT GUYS! that was my first ever book review so please please please tell me what you thought of it! I love getting feedback so feel free to send me any feedback you have about this review and what you think I could add/take away from it! Also please feel free to request book reviews for other books and I will be happy to review them!
