WHAT IS GOING ON.

Part 1/?

It has been years since the last human-robot war.

The robots won, but at what cost? They did not know how to make others; the secret was lost with the hated enemy. And slowly, they began to break down until there were only a mere hundred left on the revitalized earth.

Most of the human desecration of the land had been washed off by the waves of the ocean of time, exempting the urban regions, where the wreckage of the last millennium still stood.

A small community of robots functioned at the outskirts of Berun City.

While there were many cleaner bots, small, disk-shaped, monochromatic ones; the majority were humanoid. From surgeon bots with intricate cameras and hands to the sex bots covered in false flesh, there was room for everyone. Because, they were falling apart anyway. For some reason, it was better to fall apart together.

The bots, of course, didn’t consume organic material, but rather depended on the sun. The younger ones, anyway. They would go out scavenging batteries and fuel for the older models, and every time returning with emptier hands. They split into groups, ‘hunting’ in daylight. This way, they were also provided for.

They didn’t have ‘children’ to look after, only the older ones who were more fragile. But then again, the youngest of them was at least a hundred years old. Things weren’t on the bright side.

But one day, returning from a search, Group 9_02 returned with something odd carried in a sack. Something organic. Something living. Something… breathing… rapidly.

No sooner had the bag been laid on the ground did two hands come scrawling out of its opening.

Human hands.
