[On the window to her room on the bounty, the master of technology sits with her hair down. She hasn't been able to focus on her training lately, worrying both her master and her best friend.]

[She knows why she can't focus, but she isn't ready to tell them yet. They can't know that she's-]

[She sighs.]

[The new master of wind has caught the eye of the pink haired hero-in-training.]

[But she can't let them know that.]

[What will they think?]

[She tries to put these thoughts away by listening to music. Music helps her calm down in stressful situations. (That's why she has her headphones with her at all times)]

[However, music doesn't help this time.]

[Her mind starts racing; What if they start treating her the way her parents did? What if they kick her out entirely? What if she becomes alone again..?]

[Zoned out staring out the window, the only voice she's able to hear is hers.]

[Until,]

Arin: SORA!!!

[She snaps out of her thoughts and takes off her headphones.]

Sora: Arin? Why're you screaming like that? What,, what happened??

Arin: I've called you like 20 times already!

Sora: ..oh.

[She looks away and sighs.]

Sora: My bad.

Arin: Sora...

[He hops onto the windowsill beside her.]

Arin: I can tell something's been bothering you. You don't have to tell us anything if you aren't comfortable but,,

Arin: As your best friend, i'm really worried about you..

[Sora looks away.]

[She looks away and starts fidgeting with her keys.]

[Synopsis: Samuraishipping confession (Nya x Pixal)]

[A bright and sunny day, Kai and Nya are out in the monastery's training grounds, fighting dummies and chatting.]

Nya: NO Kai, I DO NOT like her that way.

[Nya lets out a grunt and kicks a practice dummy so hard that she ends up breaking it.]

Kai: (Stunned (and scared)) ....

Kai: Tell that to the dummy, holy fuck.

Nya: UGH.

[She kicks the dummy again and is ready to storm off.]

[But then, she appears, as gorgeous as ever.]

Nya: Oh heyyy Pixal!

Kai: Hey Pix.

Pixal: Greetings!

Pixal: Nya, if you're free may I ask for some assistance?

Nya: O-ofcourse- w-with what Pixal?

Pixal: I require help with designing the new mechs. I have a few plans but I am facing some difficulty with the finalization.

Nya: Ofcourse! I would love to help!

Kai: (whispering) Oh you would just LOOOOVE to help right?

Nya: (whispering) One more word and I will not hesitate to drown you.

Pixal: My apologies, you both seem busy, I shall go and ask Zane.

Nya: Nonono I am completely free. Trust me! My schedule hasn't been this empty in ages!

Kai: (whispering) Hah, simp.

[Nya blasts Kai with a huge gush of water and he lands face-first on the monastery's mural-wall.]

Pixal: ...?

Nya: Don’t worry about it, I just saw a bug on his shoulder. Anyway, lead the way Pixal.

Pixal: If you insist.

[Nya and Pixal leave.]

Kai: (Gets up) Ah, young love~

[Pixal and Nya are in the underground HQ, going over Pixal's building plans for the new mechs.]

Nya: These are all brilliant Pixal! I really don’t know how to choose just one..

Pixal: (Smug) I try.

Nya: (Sarcastic) Oh, soo humble.

[They both laugh.]

[Nya manages to snatch a quick glance at her beautiful laugh, and it makes her feel butterflies.]

[Well, Nya had known about this for awhile, even Kai did, but she had tried her best to not acknowledge it.. even going as far as to deny it all together.]

[She didn't want to ruin their friendship.]

[But at that moment,]

[She knew she couldn't avoid it anymore.]

[While Nya was lost in her own world, Pixal had gone back to her blueprints. Talking to Nya about the ins and outs of the mechs.]

Pixal: What do you think, Nya?

[Nya snapped back to reality.]

Nya: Oh, yeah, I-I uh think, it- might work?

Pixal: Affirmative.

[Pixal goes back to editing the blueprints further.]

Happy birthday Lloyd!!

[Synopsis: It's our favorite green boy's birthday! But the question is,, how many candles do we put on his cake?]

[Timeline: Sometime after the events of season two.]

[Everyone in the monastery (except for Lloyd himself) has been up quite early today for they all have been busy decorating the place for the green ninja's birthday.]

Pixal: [putting up a streamer] ...And that's all the decorations required for master Lloyd's birthday party.

Kai: Awesome! I'll go bring him.

[Kai goes to the ninja's bedroom where he finds Lloyd, who is still sleeping on his bed.]

Kai: Rise and shine Greenie!

Lloyd: [wakes up and yawns] Mornin' Kai.

Kai: Jump outta bed and come with me quick. Master Wu wants your help for something.

Lloyd: [panicked] ??What happened, did someone find the teapot of tyran?? Did my dad turn evil again???

Kai: Wa-hoh slow down kid, I don't think it's anything that serious.

Lloyd: Alright, if you say so.

Kai: Now come.

[Kai takes Lloyd to the living room of the monastery. He turns on the lights and-]

Everyone: SURPRISE!!!!!

Kai: [pats Lloyd's head] Happy birthday Lloyd.

Lloyd: [starts tearing up. He had been so caught up in his work that he had completely forgotten that today was his birthday.] ..Thanks guys.

[Kai hugs him and Nya rushes in to join. Jay and Cole follow soon and Cole grabs Zane along with him.Misako, Garmadon and Wu follow suit. They all wish him and congratulate him.]

[Today not only were they celebrating a birthday but they were also celebrating the achievements of the golden ninja.]

[After the well-wishes comes, ofcourse, the cake!]

Cole: Hey Pixal do you have the cake ready yet?

Pixal: I'm afraid I do not. I mean, the cake is ready however i'm not sure how many candles should the cake have.

Pixal: [looks at Lloyd] Master Lloyd may I ask how old are you turning this year?

Lloyd: Oh! Nine!

Lloyd:

Lloyd: Wait.. wait no..

[It finally hits him. He finally realizes that he is not a child anymore. That Lloyd Garmadon is no longer a wide-eyed kid with hopes and aspirations to match his dad one day.

That destiny had other plans for him.

That he did not even know how old he was now.]

Lloyd: Oh...

[He looks at Garmadon, Wu and Misako. They too have an expression on their face which tells him that they do not know either.]

[He sits down on a nearby chair and starts crying.]

Pixal: [shocked] Master Lloyd-

Pixal: Did I say something wrong??

Zane: [holds onto her arm] It's not your fault Pixal.

Wu: [nods his head in agreement] It's destiny's.

[Suddenly the celebration of the golden ninja turns into the mourning of a dead child.]

[The child destined to be the golden ninja.]

[The ninja are all goofing off and having fun at the monastery- it's their day off afterall! Why wouldn't they?]

[Kai is playfully bullying Lloyd while Nya and Jay are laughing along and telling him to stop picking on the kid, Zane and Pixal are just chatting about in their own little world, meanwhile Misako and Wu refuse to rest and keep reading and rereading ancient scrolls.]

[But while everyone else is occupied and having fun in each other's company, there is one who is just,,, standing near the wall, with music blasting through his headphones, watching from the sidelines.]

[He wishes he could also indulge in the fun but,]

Cole: (sigh)

[He's never been able to put his finger on the 'why', but, he's always felt separated from the group.]

[Disconnected, if you will.]

[This feeling of disconnection only growing and growing after the events that took place on that one day of the departed.]

[He tries his hardest to drown it all out by the music from his headphones, he doesn't want to let these thoughts interfere with his mind. But no matter how hard he tries to shake them away, they come back. Sometimes even worse than before.]

[Despite arguably being the glue that holds them together, he himself doesn't believe that they all actually enjoy his company. His mind telling him constantly that they would much prefer it if he were, well, not there.]

[No matter how high he turns up the volume he is unable to drown these thoughts out today.]

[His mind telling him how little he provides to the group and how no one will notice if he were to disappear one day.]

[Exactly like what happened that time.]

[In hopes to get rid of these fears, he heads to the kitchen, opens the refrigerator and grabs a slice of cake.]

[He decides to stay in the kitchen because hey? No one's gonna notice right?]

Cole: The cake's good.

[His mind takes him back to that day of the departed. The day when this fear of his started to worsen.]

Cole: They really won't notice if I just- was gone one day.

[He tries his best to hide these feelings when he is around them however. For he does not want them to feel guilty over his stupid fears.]

[He knows that they don't feel that way towards him but his mind keeps on saying that don't really want to be around him, that they are only tolerating him just because he lives alongside them. That they wouldn't even care if he was gone. That they-]

Zane: Cole? Cole?

Zane: I may have to adjust my volume appropriately for this.

Zane: COLE?

[Zane manages to snap him out of his spiral.]

Cole: ..Zane?

Zane: Pardon my intrusion but are you alright?

Cole: Huh?- OH, yeah, totally.

Cole: I just left to grab some cake, haha-

Zane: Are you sure? Your face is red. I assess that you were perhaps-

Cole: ...

[He hugs Zane and starts to cry.]

Zane: ?

Cole: Thanks for stopping by to check up on me Pinky.

Cole: Thanks for,, not forgetting.

[Zane hugs backs.]

Zane: My current memory processor is rather new to start doing that.

Cole: (laughs) Okay Tin Can.

[Zane and Cole head back to the living room. The other ninja have all set up the console to play prime empire but haven't started yet since they were waiting for Cole to come back.]

Cole: You guys saved me a spot?

Kai: Ofcourse man!

Jay: Now come and sit quickly and watch me win.

Cole: With me in the game? There's no chance buddy.

[The gang's gamer hops over the couch and takes his rightful place in the middle and they all start playing and chatting together.]

Monthly shopping shenanigans!

(Cole, Jay and Kai are doing groceries for the gang and are being stupid while doing so) (ft. writer finally writing something not tear inducing for once)

[It is a regular sunday morning. The Black, Blue and Red ninja have all been assigned this month's shopping and are currently on their way to the city markets.]

Jay: Awwwugh! I reaallly don't like grocery shopping.. It's so boring!

Kai: Yeah, especially when you have to "stick to the list".

Cole: It's not that bad guys, besides the list does allow us to buy snacks of our choice!

Kai: Do you ever think of anything outside of food?

Cole: Hey, who doesn't enjoy a good slice o' cake?

Jay: It's never just one slice with you.

Cole: Hey!

[Kai and Jay laugh.]

[Upon reaching the markets, they split off and quickly start their quest of ticking off all the items from the list as fast as they can.]

[Kai heads to the vegetable vendor, Jay goes to the supermarket and Cole walks over to the bakery and sweets shop.]

[There are some people around the vegetable vendor. Kai enters the crowd and speaks.]

Kai: Hey bud! How much for the tomatoes?

Vendor: A dollar each.

Kai: A DOLLAR EACH???

Vendor: Take it or leave it.

Kai: 70 cents.

Vendor: A dollar.

Kai: 75 cents.

Vendor: A dollar.

Kai: 80 cents.

Vendor: A dollar and 20 cents.

Kai: FINE.

Kai:

Kai: no wait-

Vendor: Brilliant! Thankyou for shopping with us, here are your 2 dozen tomatoes. We have a line waiting! See you later!

[As mentioned before, Cole is in the bakery buying some sweets. Mainly because he knows what all the gang's favorite snacks are. And also maybe because he gets to sample some of them but who can say for sure right?]

Cole: Ohohohhh man,, Chocolate or Chocolate chip?? Both of them look good. [Sigh] But Cole you don't have enough money for both...

Cole: Well I guess classic Chocolate will have to do th-

[While Cole is busy talking to himself he hears the bakery's door burst open.]

Kai: COOOOOOOOOOLLLLLEEEEEEEE.

Cole: Oh hey man! I see you got the veggies. Good job!

Kai: [Nervously] Th- Thanks. Man.

Cole: How much did they cost?

Kai: Uhm,, The carrots each were 45 cents. And the potatoes all together were 3 bucks and um yeah!

Kai: 14 dollars

Cole: What was that? Didn't catch you there man.

Jay: I was trying to find the place where they keep the toiletries but I got lost. Did get the everything else mentioned in the list tho..

Jay: Then I found this old cabinet.

Jay: This gem is from the 80's Kai! I had to play her!!

Kai: Yeah don't ever say that again.

Jay: You want a go?

Kai: No Jay, unlike you, I actually do have work to do. [<- He doesn't]

Jay: Great then! Would you grab the toiletries for me too on the way then?

Kai: No. [Leaves]

Jay: Aw man. [Continues playing]

Cole: Jay did you get all your share of the things yet?

[He puts his hand infront if him and the other two follow and put their hands on top of his.]

Jay: Next up! Kai's hair gel lol.

Kai: I know where they keep it like the back of my hand. [He goes and gets it.]

Jay: Some sanitary napkins.

Kai: [reaching up the isle] Yeah we get these ones.

Jay: Yeah some soap and toothpaste and then we're done.

Jay: I'll get those. I know where they keep them.

Cole: Okay then we'll go and wait at the check out lane queue then.

[Jay is walking around the monastery in search of his best friend. He then bumps into Kai.]

Kai: Look where you're walking Walker!

Jay: Har-Har very funny.

Kai: Just messin' with ya.

Jay: Well maybe, some of us are not in the mood for messing around Kai.

Kai: Ohkay wow, who lit up your fuse, lightbulb?

Jay: It's just that I've been searching for Cole since morning, I have to show him this funny meme I found. [Jay shows Kai his phone.]

Kai: [Puts down Jay's phone] ...right

Jay: Have you seen him?

Kai: Now that you've mentioned it, even I haven't seen him around since like?? yesterday night?

Jay: Let's ask Zane, maybe he knows?

[The two then head to the monastery's underground lair, where Zane is helping Pixal build a mech.]

Jay: Zane, Pixal, have you guys seen Cole??

Pixal and Zane, in sync: No, I'm afraid I haven't. [Kai lets out a giggle, Zane and Pixal look at him with a confused gaze.]

Kai: [now trying to control his giggling,] Don't worry about it-

Pixal: If you insist.

Jay: Can we get back on topic please??

Kai: Right, yeah, my bad.

Kai: So, do you guys like- have a clue where he might be?

Zane: I'm afraid I do not. However, I might know why he's away.

Kai: Really??

Jay: Why???

Zane: Today is the 10th anniversary of Lily's passing.

Jay:

Kai: ..Oh.

[Cole is climbing a mountain, the very same one he scaled when his mother had passed away to handle his grief. He was only thirteen back then, now he is twenty-three.]

Cole: I can't believe it! I-I thought I was over it-

Cole: I thought I grieved enough.

Cole: Then why then am I feeling- so- [Cole grunts]

[He reaches the top. He then sits down on the same spot Wu had all those years ago.]

Cole: I just can't believe it's been 10years.

Cole: I can't believe she hasn't-

Cole: That she hasn't been in my life for a whole decade-

[He looks up at the sky, perhaps with some hope of seeing her one more time.]

Cole: Get yourself together Cole.

Cole: [Sigh] And I'm talking to myself again.

Cole: I just-, miss her, so much..

[Back at the monastery after filling Lloyd and Nya in on the situation, the ninja all devise a plan.]

Nya: Do you think it would work?

Kai: Ofcourse. I'm not the geckle chancellor for nothin' sis.

Lloyd: You might be the geckle chancellor Kai but would Shintaro allow you in in the first place?

Kai:

Zane: Considering how close Princess Vania and Cole's relationship is I think she would readily let you in after hearing about Cole's predicament.

Jay: And we will ask very nicely~

Lloyd: Well, all in agreement then?

Jay: Yee-up

Nya: Yeah!

Kai: Heck yeah!

Zane: Affirmative.

Lloyd: Alright, it's settled then, next stop Shintaro!

[Back to Cole now, he is still sitting at the top of the mountain wondering whether he should start heading back or not.]

Cole: They're probably worried about me.

Cole: I didn't even tell Zane or Master Wu I was leaving.

Cole: I should start climbing down..

Cole: Maybe i'll get back to the monastery before dinner.

Cole: I should call dad up once to check up on him..

[He starts descending the mountain.]

[After a long journey Cole stops by the outskirts of ninjago city to check up on his dad. He rings the doorbell, but to his surprise he isn't greeted with a response. Then it hits him-]

Cole: ...He's also grieving the same way he did all those years ago huh..

Cole: [holding back his tears.] ..out singing and dancing again, ey dad?

[He leaves and heads back to the monastery. It's around dinner time now. Hope no one has noticed his absence, he doesn't want to be bombarded with a million questions today...]

[Before opening the gates to the monastery, he gives himself a reminder.]

Cole: Whatever happens, you'll not cry Cole.

[He is supposed to be the foundation that forms the backbone of the team, he can't let himself cry infront of them, can he?]

[He's the strong one afterall, right?]

[Cole opens the door and heads inside.]

Cole: Hey guys!

[He notices that all the ninja are gathered in the living room.]

Cole: Why are all of you here? Isn't it dinner time? Oh I sure hope the dessert is some good ol' cake!

Cole:

Cole: ..um guys?

Kai: You don't have to pretend man.

Jay: Yeah it's okay-

Cole: [Looking away] I don't understannd what you guys are saying?

[Kai gets up and goes to Cole. He takes his hand and places something in his palm and closes it.]

[Cole opens his palm.]

[It's the pendant Lily gave to Gleck.]

Kai: We're here for you bud.

Jay: Yeah! Just like how you're always there for us!

[Cole finally breaks. It is the first time any of the other ninja have seen him cry.]

Cole: I'm- so-

Jay: You're my best friend you don't have to apologize for crying in front of me.

Kai: Wow that's the most intelligent thing i've ever heard come outta your mouth.

[Cole chuckles, the others also crack a smile. Jay doesn't mind being the punching bag if it is to make his best friend laugh.]

Kai: Feeling better?

Cole: Yeah..

Cole: I love you guys.

Jay: We love you too you big clod.

[They all sit down on the couch. Cole is at the centre w/ Kai and Jay around him. Nya and Pixal are standing behind the couch, Lloyd is sitting on the armrest and Zane is seated at the bottom.]

[Cole sits there looking wishfully at his mother's amulet. He pauses.]

Cole: [sigh] I can't keep this..

Cole: Mom gave it to the geckle not me..

Kai: I asked him if you could have it and he said yes.

Zane: Which was oddly very out of character for Gleck.

Kai: Eh don't worry about it i'm sure he didn't mind it- much.

Jay: Which meansss,

Lloyd: You can keep it Cole!

[Cole holds the pendant close to chest and starts sobbing. He doesn't apologize this time, for he realizes that he's with his family, who'll just as readily be there for him as he would for them.]

[That night Cole finally managed to let out all the grief he had buried inside for the past decade, surrounded by people who loved and cared about him, who patiently stayed by his side till he was feeling okay.]

KAI COMING OUT SCENE BECAUSE I SAID SO. (Ft. Kai and Nya sibling behavior tm)

I wanted to this to exist but it didn't so i'm making it exist~

(Also this is my first attempt at writing fanfics i'm sorry if it isn't that good)

[We're going back in time; just about after the first fight with the overlord. The green ninja and his allies have finally ushered in an era of peace.. although, there is someone who is not feeling quite as peaceful..]

[Kai and Nya are in Nya's bedroom. The Master of Fire is restlessly pacing back and forth while his sister watches, sitting on her bed.]

Kai: UGH HOW DO I TELL THEM?

Nya: You know you don't have to right?

Kai: Well, yes, but,,

Nya: But what?

Kai: BUT I JUST, sigh, I just want them to know.

Nya: (annoyed) Then tell them Kai, they aren't going to magically find it out on their own you know.

Kai: Actually, Zane did!

Nya:

Kai: Something, something, nindrioid; something, something he gave me a trans pride pin once :D

Nya:

Kai: Yeah even I don't get it, but hey atleast I got a free pin outta it.

Nya: Then you only have Jay, Cole and Lloyd left to tell right?

Kai: You say it like it's an easy task.

Nya: Oh sorry, I thought the Master of Fire was braver than that.

Kai: I hate you.

Nya: I hate you too <3

Kai: *eyerolls*

*They both chuckle*

Nya: But anyway I remember you were able to tell me rather easily?

Kai: You're my sister Nya, and you were very young when I told you, I knew you wouldn't hate me for it.

Kai: *chuckles* Shut up sis you know what I mean.

Nya: *Giggles* Yeah.

Kai: *Sigh* UGH.

Kai: What if they hate me what they never play video games with me ever again what if i'm not one of the boys anymore what if-

Nya: Slow down Kai i'm sure that is not going to happen.

Kai: YOU NEVER KNOW??

Nya: I said i'm sure that is not going to happen.

Kai: *falls down on the bed and sighs*

Nya: You know I am this close to picking you up and throwing you in your bedroom.

Kai: THEY'RE ALL IN THE BEDROOM.

Nya: THAT'S THE POINT.

Kai: And no way you can pick me up that easy.

Nya: (annoyed) You want to see me try?

Kai: (confidently) Go ahead.

Nya: *Gets up and lifts Kai like it's no big deal*

Kai:

Nya: You were saying?

Kai: Let's just go to my room, i'll rather come out than listen to you talk.

Nya: Do you want me to drop you?

Kai: I meant to say that I..... can listen to you speak all day sis I love you.

Nya: Better.

*Nya puts him down and they both walk to the ninjas' bedroom*

[Cole, Jay and Lloyd are all in the ninjas' bedroom. Cole is drawing while listening to some music, Jay is bothering Cole and Lloyd is reading starfarer on Kai's bed.]

Kai: Oh all of you are here??

Jay: Yeah Kai what happened?

Lloyd: Yeah did you need us for something? Should I call Zane aswell??

Kai: Nono don't bother Zane but um yeah I uhm.. I wanted to tell- you guys, some-thing.

Nya: *whispering so that only Kai can hear* You can dooo it.

Jay: And Cole take your headphones off!

Cole: *takes his headphones off* (very annoyed) what is it Jay?

Jay: Kai wants to tell us something.

Cole: Oh what's up dude?

Lloyd: Yeah tell us.

Jay: Yeah you're acting very weird man.

Nya: Will you guys let him speak?

Jay & Lloyd: Sorry!

Kai: As I was saying,, I uhh, i'm-

Kai: *sigh* I'm trans.

Cole: Cool dude!

Jay: Wait so you're a girl?

Kai: *laughs* No i'm ftm. Master of Fiyaah is a guy through and through.

Jay: Wow I would've never been able to tell.

Kai: hah yeah.

Lloyd: If you're comfortable saying, can I ask who all know?

Kai: *gesturing to Nya* She does, obviously. Then Master Wu, Zane just knew from the start aaand now you guys.

Lloyd: That's awesome!

Cole: So we don't have to treat you any different right man?

Kai: Yeah dude, the same ol' Kai. Just um, now y'all know i'm trans.

Jay: Neat!

Lloyd: Thankyou for trusting us with this.

Cole: Yeah bro awesome.

Kai: *tearing up but trying to hide it* Thanks guys. Love you all.

Lloyd: *jumps out of bed to give Kai a hug*

*Cole and Jay follow too*

Jay, Cole and Lloyd: We love you too.

Lloyd: Now come on let's have dinner, Zane must've made something delicious.

Cole: Let's hope it includes some cake!

[They all laugh and the other three quickly head for the kitchen (it's Zane's turn to cook afterall!). Kai and Nya stay behind for one last talk.]

Kai: Thanks sis. I actually feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Nya: You don't have to thank me, you did this yourself.

Kai: *hugs her* I love you so much.

Nya: Love you too. I'm proud of you big bro.

Cole: *yelling from the other side of the hallway* Are you two coming or not?!

Kai: Coming!!

Kai: (to Nya) Now let's go before there is no food left for us.

Nya: *chuckles* Yeah.

[They both leave aswell.]
